The wind blows in my empty wallet

Even if you never go to Japan, you have to love the fact that it exists. Where else would you find a kawaii metal song about low wage rates.

OH SWEET FOX GOD! It only gets better.

Isn't this a renge spoon for ramen?
What else besides ramen can you scoop?
Because the world is a bowl of chaos, right?

I didn't know Elton John could play guitar.

Not a patch on Babymetal, but still awesome. Shows you how monumental and ahead of the pack Babymetal are.

Ladybaby's lyrics are fascinating, and their videos are just a joy to watch.

Blogger Seth Schueler June 16, 2017 12:09 PM

This is just plain fun.

Small wonder Japs have the highest suicide rate.

Blogger wreckage June 16, 2017 12:25 PM

Like having your eyes gouged out and sherbet poured into the bleeding sockets.

Blogger Snidely Whiplash June 16, 2017 12:31 PM

The video is just plain annoying. Good shredding though. Loved it when I wasn't looking at it.

Japan is fun. Went there in April. Love Kawaiii and Hello Kitty, but they don't mix with Metal. Sorry.

Blogger wreckage June 16, 2017 12:39 PM

@8 like I said. Eyes, sockets, sherbet.

Blogger JudgeMontrose June 16, 2017 12:43 PM

Awesome. Great way to end the week!

Here I thought I might have gone too far with my EL GUAPO costume with luchador mask & rainbow feather boa with paracord strands for my proposed "Don't Garrote Fewer Felons Than a Faggot" show

I don't know who these guys are, but the background is New York City, which is rather far from Japan.

Blogger Aeoli Pera June 16, 2017 1:29 PM

That dude's screaming is not very good. Funny though.

Ladybaby makes Babymetal look stuffy and old-fashioned.

I've been going back in time with my Jpop exploration. From Perfume to Seiko Matsuda to The Candies. Because I miss the 70's. I am also following several expat-in-Japan YT channels and am starting to be able to read hiragana just from repeated watching of BM and Sakura Gakuin subtitled videos. All Vox's fault. Can't thank him enough.

Blogger August June 16, 2017 2:36 PM

Yes, but the guy dropped out, and now the two girls are doing some sort of semi-lesbian kawaii schtick.

Blogger Chiva June 16, 2017 2:51 PM

Never watched Babymetal or any of the Japanese metal before.

10 mins ago: What the hell!!!
5 mins ago: Not too bad.
Now: I like it.

That had me smiling. I'm assuming the subtitles were for what they were saying. I had no friggin clue

Does baby metal tour the US?

Anonymous CarpeOro June 16, 2017 3:19 PM

I'll stick to The Seatbelts. Screaming isn't on my list of musical talents.

Blogger pyrrhus June 16, 2017 3:24 PM

Kind of riveting in a very strange way....

Blogger Daveyboy June 16, 2017 3:32 PM

My GOD, has Bernie Sanders seen this yet? Could be his next election theme-song.

Anonymous MDZ1985 June 16, 2017 3:33 PM

Ben Cohen, they have been on 3 world tours which included the U.S., recently toured with Red Hot Chili Peppers, are playing at the Hollywood Palladium tonight and then going on a short tour with that travelling Korn festival.

My interest in Japanese metal is developing similar to my taste for sushi.

First, hell no. Then, ahhh maybe it is OK. Now, I crave it. Thanks Vox.

Blogger exfarmkid June 16, 2017 5:26 PM

Had hopes going in, but even this song with the social commentary and dude in the dress could not break the correlation between a Vox Popoli site visit and "dicks out for harambe" playing in my head.

Blogger Deep Thought June 16, 2017 7:56 PM

I do not understand your love for this type of music. Looks SJWish.

Blogger Cecil Henry June 16, 2017 8:00 PM

Somehow the guy in the dress manages not to seen particularly 'gay'.

Which is an accomplishment of some kind.

Japan is a different world. They like it that way. We need to get that too.

Blogger rcocean June 16, 2017 8:09 PM

I love your politics Vox but your music sucks. I'm too old to relate to this crap. Give me the Beach boys.

Anonymous A.B. Prosper June 16, 2017 8:44 PM

I watched this thing twice and haven't smiled this much since the Keynes vs Hayek rap battles

Thanks much.

Also from now on , Sorry the wind blows through my wallet in Japanese of course will be my stock answer to anyone asking for money

Man, don't get stuck in the past. You will end up watching PBS specials where all the audience of grey hairs are trying to relive their youth. Its creepy, dude. All the young dudes carry the news, bugaloo dudes carry the news....doo doo doo........etc.

You don't have to love it, but it will be worth your while to grok it.

Babymetal performed From Dusk til Dawn live at the Palladium show for the first time last night:

Blogger rondolf June 17, 2017 10:41 AM

Do the japanese hate their 'boomers' as much as gen x hates theirs. Do they even have boomers. Either way, I sense some anger at a previous generation, and it seems, looking at their demographic and economic situation, some anger is warranted.

I looked up Rei Kuromiya, one of the singers. Born in 2000, she is not yet 18. Type in her name and google images. There are many images where she looks 12-15 and poses in sexually explicit poses that look almost pornographic. This would be illegal in the West. There is something very sick about Japanese culture's pedophilic tendencies.

Anonymous DirkH June 17, 2017 2:14 PM

Bearded Lady reminds too much of EU Song Contest Globalist icon Conchita Wurst. Music is rehash of 1990ies Eurotrash techno.

Blogger Thucydides June 17, 2017 4:46 PM

Yeah, the Keynes vs Hayek rap battles were great. While I enjoyed this, it was more in the Omg what the hell is this? kind of way.

If I'm going for Japanese metal I'll stick with Babymetal, thanks.....

Anonymous Anonymous June 17, 2017 7:35 PM

I prefer the younger girls other band, BRATS, though it is a bit more rock than metal.

Blogger Scott Birch June 17, 2017 10:49 PM

Who us the guy in the dress? Looks like Baked Alaska.

Blogger Were-Puppy June 17, 2017 10:57 PM

Remember this one Nippon manju
