Mailvox: "May he rot in Hell"

It is being widely reported that Sen. John McCain is terminal with brain cancer. One reader is entirely unsympathetic.
John McCain is dying from the same type of brain tumor that my father is - a Glioblastoma. There is an indirect but pertinent relationship between my father and the dear senator that extends beyond their shared terminal illness.

In early to mid elementary-school ages, I remember my father deploying numerous times to Bosnia/Herzegovania/Kosovo.  At the time, I didn't understand why it was necessary.  I'm no genius and no one really explained it to me outside of the "America is for freedom" concept.  Almost 20 years later, with a skeptics intuition, I smell bullshit.

My father is a Physician's Assistant which requires a master's degree in medicine.  His only health issues in the past were kinetically related because he played soccer and basketball.  We also have no family history of any cancer at all.  He took care of himself; no smoking, regular exercise, good diet.

So it came as a shock to us when we learned he had a brain tumor that was likely to be his end.  When he met with the private oncologist who operates her private practice near a military base we were stunned by what she told us.  Over 70 percent of the patients she sees with Glioblastomas were or are military members who have had exposure to burn-pits.

What's a burn-pit?  In a base of operations overseas there is no garbage service.  No one makes you differentiate your organic vs recyclable garbage.  You throw everything into a big pit that is set on fire.  This really isn't a big deal as long as you're not burning anything hazardous.  Plastic and paper and shit will make you cough, but it's not likely to give you long-time health problems.  But what if you throw in depleted Uranium casings?

That's right.  Our military uses depleted uranium ammunition because it's effective at peircing armor and thick walls.  And what do they do with the remaining ordinance?  They throw it into a fucking fire right next to the camp.

What does John McCain have to do with this?  He's an acolyte for the Prince of Lies.  Here's an excerpt of a NYT Q&A w/ McCain concerning his initial disapporval of the Bosnian intervention and his ultimate betrayal of that "belief":

Q. You, as much as anyone in Congress, know the high costs of war, and yet you and Senator Bob Dole, in a politically unpopular move, pushed for a Senate endorsement of the Bosnia mission. Why did you consider this important?

A. I had been a long-time skeptic, if not outright opponent, of our Bosnia policy. Senator Dole and I and others were strong proponents of lifting the arms embargo. But when the president made his commitment, committing not just Bill Clinton but the United States of America, the entire situation changed. There were significant negative costs associated with repudiating such a commitment — one, the credibility of the United States, two, the lasting viability of NATO, and three, the assurances of leaders of the participants in the war that the conflict would be reignited. I have no doubt that the Congress has the authority to cut off funding, but that was not going to happen. When you vote to cut off funding, with American troops already there, whether you intend to or not you send a message to those troops that you don't support what they're doing.

Apparently not funding a war that you supposedly disagree with is now treasonous because you can't have the perception that the people you're ordering to fight the war are doing something for an immoral pretense.

John McCain was just diagnosed with the same brain tumor my father was.  I firmly believe that had my father not been exposed to that radiation he would be happy and healthy.  He's now teetering on a knife's edge.

The God Emperor has released a statement that asks for thoughts and prayers for Johnny on the trigger.

I will not waste my prayers for John. May he rot in Hell.
Death comes for us all in time. I wonder if the senator has any regrets about his conduct during his time on Earth, or if he is hoping to hear "well done, thou good and faithful servant", from the Father of Lies.

McCain is a deeply evil man whose actions have killed thousands and endangered the entire US. Dying of a terrible cancer in ripe old age with the best possible medical care is not punishment enough for his crimes.

The lone regret is that this didn't happen to him two decades ago.

Anonymous The Observer July 20, 2017 4:48 AM

Even more repulsive is the number of cucks waffling back and forth over how "I don't like what McCain did, but he is a human being and we should wish him well."

People have lost their ability to condemn evil.

Blogger Antony July 20, 2017 4:50 AM

McCain is an evil globalist neo-con warmonger, and deserves no sympathy for all the death and suffering he has helped cause.
On a related note - the letter writer mentions the Bosnian war in which the West intervened against Serbia on behalf of Muslims, and now, along with Kosovo- we have forward Islamist operating bases in Europe - and yet this war has been conveniently forgotten with no analysis in the MSM about why we did it.

Anonymous Bobby Farr July 20, 2017 4:57 AM

The McCain quotes are surprising since, at 40, I guess I am too young to remember when McCain even feigned hesitation to engage in pointless wars.

So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.

And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:

And upon her forehead was a name written, Mystery, Babylon the Great, the Mother of Harlots and abominations of the Earth.

Bad luck for McCain. Not sad about I've wished bad luck on him for a long time. This depleted uranium stuff tho ... sounds like BS to me. The DU is the projectile. If you're burning stuff it's unlikely you're burning the pointy end of ammo.

A close relative to Sillon has currently being diagnosed as having brain cancer, Sillon noticed something wasn't right the moment the relative was replacing some words with gibberish without the relative noticing.

When Sillon heard McCain talking gibberish to Comey that day I knew.

Heavy metals are bad news. I lived through some of the leaded gasoline times. McCain lived through more of it. I still doubt there was any DU in any "burn pits". More likely a base-worth of literal shit in the burn pit. There is no DU in expended ammunition, the DU perpetrator is surrounded by a discarding sabot. For DU to show up in a burn pit there would have to be live ammo or collected scrap from destroyed targets, unlikely.

I fear the celebrations are premature. This man doesn't have the dignity to step down so he is going to have to die before he is replaced. My concern is we get a drooling John McCain for the next 8-12 months being wheeled into the senate. He may only be barely concious but his evil staff will continue his policies for that time. In fact they will use his condition to push some "legacy" bill like amnesty for him while he is still there.

McCain came to my attention some years ago when he and other legislators were extorting tobacco companies of millions of dollars. I remember thinking to myself "That's a Republican?". Since that point in time, my regard for the man has continued to decline. One would hope that he will have the good grace to resign so that someone with an intact brain can be appointed. However, given his history I expect him to hold on to the position to the bitter end. If he does so, I hope that he faces a excruciating process.

AZ Gov: Doug Ducey -- may or may not be helpful:

http://www.abc15.com/news/state/a-glance-at-bills-signed-monday-by-gov-doug-ducey

This sounds positin:
"Welfare recipients will again be eligible for two years of cash payments but be required to work or be enrolled in job training and ensure their children are attending school. The measure partially restores cuts the Republican governor pushed through in a measure in 2015 that limited lifetime welfare payments to one year, the shortest in the nation. Payments would be reduced or eliminated if a participant is caught with a controlled substance or quits a job."

This sounds... more complicated (a bit clucky?):
"Ducey signed three bills that boost tax incentives for big and small business. One bill is a new $10 million "angel investor" tax credit program for capital infusions into small businesses, and the second one expands eligibility for a state jobs creations tax fund to smaller businesses. The third bill extends until 2025 a job-creation tax credit for big companies. It includes new lower property taxes for Intel and other manufacturers in special trade zones that already pay an ultra-low tax rate on new equipment and a tax break pushed by corporate jet seller NetJets exempting it from sales taxes that Ducey vetoed earlier in the session."

Still any AZians working to ID possibles we can support?

And I DO consider what our Dark Lord has said about the differences between Israeli jews and "American" jews. And the similarity between jews and Chinese (high performance, high intelligence); but the Chinese have neither tried nor succeeded in taking over the levers of power in Every. Single. One. of *our* (White Western) systems.

The Chinese are not urging miscegenation and paying for blacks rioting and violently attacking our people (everywhere!), and forcing our replacement by hordes of barely-human animals... Few Chinese have subverted few of "our" systems. (And weren't we just talking about Cucky McCucky -- NO peace be upon him!)

The Chinese are not "opening our gates" -- and do not have a thousand year history of opening our gates -- to invaders and conquerors.

"By their fruits shall ye know them."

I really don't see that Israel is somehow "different" from American jews. It's sure not israeli jews that have arranged for "us" to send them $10 million+ a day, is it? Or USE those DU rounds all across "our" wars (that aren't ours). Or main and kill thousands of OUR young people, and perhaps a million or more of other people(s) for purposes NOT our own!

I know Vox thinks very well of Van Creveld (and how could he not?!) -- but how it that not IKAGO?

"knowing a good one" (or a good ten, or a good hundred) does not change "their fruits."

The way the rules work is that once you go public, that also frees up the public to be critical of you. By way of example, a politician's family members should be free of criticism, unless they become politically active. Then by their own actions they become vulnerable to criticism.

Same with McCain. In a sensible world, deference to his military service should have ended once he used it for political gain, and he did use it for political gain.

Once he went public with his military career his record should have been subject to a potentially critical review, and was not. Going by the little I know about it there were two sides to his alleged heroism.

I treat 5-6 patients with glio every year. It is an almost universally (quickly) fatal tumor, even with treatment. Treatment is a delaying action. Survival without treatment is weeks to a few months. With treatment, 6-18 months. The older the patient, the worse the prognosis.

Clinical response is often initially good in terms of mental status and function, but then it worsens again. Patients usually die by just fading away.

In McCain's case, his age and general health status suggest he will do poorly and this will be earlier, not later. In his case (a guess) 6 months would be a likely best scenario.

Blogger peppermint88 July 20, 2017 9:24 AM

Depleted uranium has a half life of four billion years and is more toxic chemically than radiologically. The idea that radiation is the worst ever comes from SJW fearmongering in the last century exactly like the current CO2 hysteria. There was never any evidence for linear no threshold radiation toxicity and plenty of evidence against it, but SJWs told themselves they were saving the world from nuclear weapons (and cheap energy).

Plastics in the burn pit will make various toxic substances. Look there first for your carcinogen.

If the Uranium is burnt in a pit then particles can be ingested, and it will be in the body, and subject to chemical reaction.

Yeah, given that the attitudes of the Churchians in the "Church of Nice" are part of the reason why we're in mess we're in, I have an extremely hard time with their condemnations of those of us that think this couldn't have happened to a more deserving individual.

I think we can be truly charitable in that we can willingly forgive McCain for what he's done (it is, after all, a Spiritual Work of Mercy), we can certainly bear all of what he's wronged us with patiently, and we can certainly pray for his soul while he is alive and when he eventually dies, but the problem is the damage his ignorance and pride has already caused.

Extreme best case is he makes it to Purgatory, but I think the prayers for his soul are probably more to try and minimize whatever his eternal punishment is. And that's me being generous.

Anonymous Clouseau July 20, 2017 11:05 AM

Agree with 70 peppermint88. The problem with DU (if it's ever burned in a pit, which I doubt) is chemical toxicity, not radioactivity. Carcinogens coming from burn pits are probably due to other things being burned.

The whole thing sounds unlikely. Nobody is going to burn unfired large casing ammunition owing to the hazard. Or at the least they will not stand around nearby to smell the smoke. And it is not normally going to show up as an item to be thrown away. When fired the bullets end up somewhere, imbedded in the target or the ground I would imagine. And the spent shell casing, the brass, has a salvage value. Unless the plane retains it (unlikely) the locals probably collect it up and sell it is scrap metal. Radiation can be dangerous, but it is way overbilled as to how dangerous.

I don't buy the specific explanation of the depleted uranium being burned and causing brain cancer for a number of reasons, but exposure to the burn pits is another story. Burning plastics incompletely releases all kinds of nasty chemicals that you don't want to breathe.

My mom voted for McCain and Clinton. Too much of the population here is big government who feel that seniority is too important to risk a junior Senator. To the point of electing a R senator even if died in the wool D.

Top of my list is Jan Brewer (last governor. I think she is still on the ins with the establishment here for the most part and you may remember a little incident on the tarmac between her and Obama)

And there is also the loser of the last primary (Kelli Ward) but she may be too outsider. But honestly I avoid R politics around here because this was one of the places that just reamed Ron Paul and his supporters over royally and so they can go F*&^ themselves.

Decey is probably part of the machine (due to how easy he got to be governor) so that is why I'm hoping for Brewer and not some unknown party hack. Then again I can't in my wildest dreams imagine someone like McCain. He used his "service" as a shield to do so much evil.

Since you guys are discussing depleted uranium, I have a question. DU is supposed to be only slightly radioactive, hence the depleted appellation. So it really is the heavy metal toxicity that is more dangerous...however if the DU isn't truly depleted, am I correct in understanding that it could contain some plutonium still? This would be serious negligence but is it possible?

John McCain is doubtless a piece of work for many reasons including all of the lives lost on the USS Forrester. But the whole "burning DU" thing is BS. DU is crazy valuable and expensive, and they do not burn live ammunition for obvious fucking reasons. I have relatives in the military for the last 4 generations and the last 2 have dealt with DU - any of the stuff that is not fired in anger is actually returned and reused or the DU is removed and repurposed because it is much more expensive to process raw DU into a usable form than to reprocess DU from munitions to reuse it.

Also, DU has basically no radiation. The danger from DU is that it is a heavy metal and is toxic.

During WWII, the US Navy went into extremely rural south Arkansas (Calhoun County) and created a military reservation, which was used primarily to test and develop rockets. Farmers were displaced from tens of thousands of acres (and promised they could have the land back after the war, which never happened).

The Navy has never been what anyone would call "environmentally friendly", particularly with regard to the rocket fuels they were testing. While it does not rise to the level of Love Canal, New York the public health nurse in Hampton has been keeping a running tally of those who die of cancer in that part of the county....called Locust Bayou, which included my ex-wife's family.

The lack of public water facilities, combined with open pit disposal of exotic rocket fuels, certainly suggests ground water pollution by the Navy. If this is not the cause of cancer in people who drank the ground water, perhaps they can give another explanation for the high incidence of cancer in the population.

There was a commenter a few posts back that pointed out it was brain cancer. Why am I surprised the media would hide that from us? Oh well, it's out now.

"That's right.  Our military uses depleted uranium ammunition because it's effective at peircing armor and thick walls."

I feel sorry for everyone who has worked on DU. The guy, years ago, that was in charge of it for the Pentagon ended up ingesting it (or doing something so it got in his body). His teeth fell out, calcium in bones replaced with DU or something to that effect, it wasn't pretty.

"And what do they do with the remaining ordinance?  They throw it into a fucking fire right next to the camp."

Why, in the name of all that is holy, would they think this is a good idea? It's been over 25 years since the First Gulf War. You think we'd have found a better way to dispose of them. Geez!

"There were significant negative costs associated with repudiating such a commitment — one, the credibility of the United States..."

Wrong! You could have even seen at the time there was no credibility issue with Bosnia! Hell, retrospectively it's even more obvious! Russia and China would not have doubted our credibility. Geez he's an idiot!

"two, the lasting viability of NATO" It should've been dissolved in 1992.

"When you vote to cut off funding, with American troops already there, whether you intend to or not you send a message to those troops that you don't support what they're doing."

When it's for as worthless as a cause as Bosnia, yes you don't support it.

"I wonder if the senator has any regrets about his conduct during his time on Earth..." Maybe this will cause him to repent for leaving behind men in Vietnam, collaborating with the North Vietnamese, etc.

"Even more repulsive is the number of cucks waffling back and forth over how "I don't like what McCain did, but he is a human being and we should wish him well."

"The man is an American hero, pure and simple."

BAWHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! If by hero, you mean collaborating with the North Vietnamese, and leaving behind men in Vietnam, then Bowe Bergdahl and OBL are heroes....though only Bowe is American.

"Same with McCain. In a sensible world, deference to his military service should have ended once he used it for political gain, and he did use it for political gain."

@51 He should've be denied his pension and stripped of his Senate seat when it came out in '93 that he collaborated while in captivity.

"In McCain's case, his age and general health status suggest he will do poorly and this will be earlier, not later. In his case (a guess) 6 months would be a likely best scenario."

@69 Good to hear from a professional.

"In possibly related news, Trump has ended CIA funding of 'Syrian rebels'." The comments on Jeff Bezo's blog were telling. The Left still can't get over Trump winning.

"After 2006, I became disgusted with the Republican Party, and was furious they chose McCain in 2008. I absolutely refused to vote for him for a number of reasons. I'm not going to publicly cheer his demise, but I won't mourn his absence. I just hope he has the decency to resign now, and not hold onto the seat any longer."

@75 I voted Constitutional Party in '08, Republican in '12 out of desperation. I'm not happy about his death but am optimistic that someone better replaces him.

"Extreme best case is he makes it to Purgatory, but I think the prayers for his soul are probably more to try and minimize whatever his eternal punishment is. And that's me being generous."

@84 If he makes it to Purgatory, he'll make it to Heaven...eventually. If he goes to Hell, there's no point in praying. He's finished.

"The whole thing sounds unlikely. Nobody is going to burn unfired large casing ammunition owing to the hazard. Or at the least they will not stand around nearby to smell the smoke."

The A-10's canon actually does its spent brass and put it back in the magazine, keeps it from being ingested by the big turbofans in the back of the plane. But its API rounds encapsulate the DU in aluminum.

"if the DU isn't truly depleted, am I correct in understanding that it could contain some plutonium still?"

It never goes into a reactor, which is where plutonium is bred from uranium. Various difficult processes are used to separate as much fissionable U-235 from the raw metal as possible, "depleting" it, leaving 99.7% or more U-238 according to InfoGalactic in US military ordnance DU.

There is no such poison. If there were, it would put all other weapons out of business.

The American Medical Association, responding to questions and concerns from their membership, convened a committee to examine the toxicity of plutonium. In their final report, the committee admitted that plutonium is toxic....it is slightly more toxic than aspirin (the long-time suicide drug of choice for weemin). Yes, a mere ounce of aspirin will kill most people, if ingested, but unprotected handling of aspirin is not going to harm anyone.

We must be careful how we celebrate. We were all enemies of God at one point, and need to be mindful of that. I admit that it was a bright spot in my day thinking that this abominable man might stop his dangerous policies; but life is paradoxical. I had a bad life in my youth, I cannot measure how much an offense it was to a perfect God. He gave me a shot at forgiveness, so I pray that McCain will also reconsider his ways. Our celebration should be thanks to God for the end of this vile era, not something like: "Woo-Hoo! Cartwheels on the lawn time!! I hope that wretched old bastard suffers mightily!!.
