Bannon is out... again

Apparently Drudge thinks that this time, it's for real.
SENIOR ADVISOR MOVING ON AFTER IMPRESSIVE RUN, THE DRUDGE REPORT HAS LEARNED...

POPULIST HERO MAY RETURN TO BREITBART...

BANNON OUT AT WHITE HOUSE
As always with the God-Emperor, I counsel patience. Don't assume that you understand what is going on, much less why anything is happening. Don't count out Donald Trump. And above all, don't take the media's spin at face value.

UPDATE: Bannon submitted his resignation on August 7th, according to @NYTimes

UPDATE: The real reason Bannon is out: he opposes war in Korea, Venezuela, Syria, etc.

UPDATE: Bannon: "I am going to go medieval on enemies of Trump now."

Agreed, let the hysteria die down. Assuming this is even true, I will be interested to hear what Bannon himself has to say about it.

Anonymous Battlefrog August 18, 2017 12:59 PM

They are saying Bannon resigned two weeks ago, and that it was his decision.

NYT also just published an article. He definitely seems to be gone.

Blogger Quilp August 18, 2017 1:02 PM

With his interview the other day, I got the feeling it was all an effort to publicly fall on his sword for the President. What a novel concept in the new deep state Washington.

Exactly. If Bannon leaves, and Trump has weekly phone calls with him, what we have is Steve Bannon:Ghost Protocol.

Blogger Mr.MantraMan August 18, 2017 1:02 PM

I'll bet Trump takes dipstick Romney's advice and apologizes (Romney's screed is linked at Drudge)

As I said a minute after the first "nazis slaughter innocents in C'ville" story hit the wires that Trump needed to lead the hysteria and call for a ban on white identity politics. But he and others wanted to play the rigged game and here we are in a deeper hole a week later.

But the conservative mindset of always thinking we can go back, HAH.

"A senior White House official told Axios that it seemed like Bannon was setting himself up to be a martyr — the white nationalist hero canned by the “globalists.”"

Bannon has his own brand to sell. He sees the writing on the wall--why be in the room when the investigations coming down the pike that will seal Trump's fate. If Trump wanted Bannon so badly, he would be defending him tooth and nail. But Bannon served his purpose, and now he can go back to Breitbart.

Blogger Cail Corishev August 18, 2017 1:12 PM

The Times article is incoherent. The first half talks like Trump is still thinking about it and they're trying to decide how to tell him (it comes off like they think Bannon might take hostages and hole up in his office), and the second half without transition says it's a done-deal. Maybe they already had half of it written.

If I were Bannon, I might decide I could do more good without an official White House position. There's also the fact that the Left/media/cucks will spend the next few days celebrating, so anything coming next week will catch them by surprise.

Two levels, on first reaction:

1) Sundance at CTH was saying that the Bannon vs McMaster's fights would lead to Bannon being out. But those only kicked up... after Bannon submitted his resignation. So, Cerno vs McM proceeds, but the Bannon vs McM was a ruse.

2) Bannon only joined after the GOP convention. He was on Cruz's side during the Primary. So, while I like the guy, he's not an original #MAGAhat. (Nothing against him on that point, though, as he made Cruz a viable candidate.)

Freebie 3rd thought:

Trump vs the Media is a LONG game. Trump knows to #MAGA, the MSM has it exists *has* to be killed. Bannon is far more valuable outside the Admin leading moves against the MSM. Bannon is a real talent, and a "New Right" major platform is needed.

Plus, if Bannon didn't leave for 2 weeks, then Trump has a replacement in place already. (Minus the fact that Trump *is* the chief strategist.)

You'd think they are trying to start a civil war.

-The deepstate and both parties are actively working against trump

-There is a small problem of massive voter fraud STUDY: 3.5 MILLION MORE REGISTERED VOTERS THAN ELIGIBLE VOTERS IN US
-The Alt-left communists are actively and openly calling for the deaths of anyone who opposes them
-The Alt-left communists are actively and openly engaging in physical violence with virtually no response from the state

I'm not sure what else you could actually add to that list to accelerate the move towards an open civil war?

Blogger Timmy3 August 18, 2017 1:54 PM

Trump barely filled his positions at all levels of government. He can't keep firing everyone at the same time. Let's reset the clock.

Blogger DonReynolds August 18, 2017 1:55 PM

I doubt anyone here is surprised that Bannon has left the White House.
Donald Trump is a person who really, really believes in pruning the organization. Anyone who is a problem, even if that problem is not of their own making, will be tossed over the side.

I suspect, Bannon and Trump had a short chat and agreed that Bannon could do more good outside the government than inside. He can still advise the president without being a lightning rod. They will keep in touch and still send greeting cards.

Unfortunately, the Trump Administration will soon find out that removing lightning rods does not mean there will be no lightning strikes. The lightning will simply be striking things that do not handle it very well.

The Big Picture is not about Bannon. The problem that the Republicans face is the fact that the bulk of their political strength (and votes) is in the former Confederate states, where many people know themselves as Confederate. The Republicans cannot afford to write off the Old Confederacy by siding with the Democrat radicals. Such pandering is absolutely self-defeating....you lose lots of good friends without making any new ones.

Anonymous Looking Glass August 18, 2017 1:56 PM

Actually, I think this news needs to be taken into consideration with one of the Murdoch kids giving a lot of money to the ADL. Mercer, the major funder behind Bannon's other activities, & Bannon see a repeat of the rise of Fox News. Bannon is going to make himself Roger Ailes v2.

Trump will be fine. 4 months ago, I'd be very concerned. Now? We know how Trump operates better. It's really clear that Trump is running a lot of the Media as a Intelligence Operation. He's collected a vast quantity of Military Spooks around him, all in key spots. And Bannon resigning never leaked, so at least Stage 1 & 2 of the operations are working.

Donald Trump is a New Yorker who could not get elected dog catcher in his own home state. (He polled about 30 percent in the last election.)

The people who elected Donald Trump were the same people that the Liberal Republicans want to see kicked out of the party. He needs to think about that.

I was more than anxious about the internal politics of the Republican party before the election. There is a natural tendency for a president to screw his own supporters the most when reaching out to those who opposed his election....within his own party. That is why we see the influence of the Bush tribe, the RINOs, and the NeverTrump crowd growing within this administration.

Donald Trump came from a business world where it was virtuous and relatively easy to bury the hatchet with enemies. In politics, it is like surrendering at the moment of victory. Your enemies cannot believe their good fortune.

I'm not concerned with Bannon leaving or why. What does bother me is that the left believes all it has to do is bitch and moan about someone, the media does its hatchet jobs, and they're gone. The left has tried the electoral route and is constantly being disappointed over the fact that productive people do not want to have anything to do with their agenda. So, why go the electoral route at all? Achieve what you want with the media and virtue signaling. The courts will support you.

Now that Bannon is gone, who is left in Trump's administration that actually has any kind of strategic and tactical sense in what is going on? Trump seems to be isolated and has an anonymous series of 5 column agents in the White House and the Deep State. I certainly don't understand that. How does Trump not know who is enemies are and why are they still there? What worries me is that the removal of Bannon is what the left predicted. They are also predicting, and have been for 6 months, impeachment for Trump. What are we missing? Given the responses of the "thoughtful" members of the right concerning "racism" and da Nazi's, who is left that will actually do something meaningful if the SHTF? The right is just going to justify to each other the loss of their rights. Who is left with balls?

Blogger Cail Corishev August 18, 2017 2:12 PM

Trump will be fine. 4 months ago, I'd be very concerned. Now? We know how Trump operates better.

Yep. He earned a lot of trust this week with his comments about the Alt-Left. He got absolutely blasted for that, and I'm sure he knew he would. I'll bet he got blasted inside the White House, too -- probably by nearly everyone but Bannon. He wouldn't be mad at the one man who surely backed him on that. If it's true that Bannon resigned on the 7th, then this wasn't about Charlottesville or the Alt-Right, no matter how much the FakeNews tries to connect those dots.

Blogger Sterling Pilgrim August 18, 2017 2:14 PM

Also, Bannon came in as part of the crew for Trump's 3rd! Campaign Management group. Trump's got this.

Anonymous Grayman August 18, 2017 2:19 PM

Impeachment seems like a good way to start civil unrest. Perhaps the deepstate has already wargamed it and believes they can handle it or someone shut it down. But impeachment seems like one heck of a gamble for TPTB to make.

They've been predicting that since he joined the Trump campaign last August. Then, it was supposed to be over a sexual harassment case in his past. It's easy to predict things right if you just keep saying them until they happen, and how many presidential advisors ever last all eight years?

This is an important point. The fact that the reporting says he resigned on the 7th is a major tell. Now granted, Roger Stone's piece showed up yesterday over at the Daily Caller, but most folks over there initially took that as just the usual smoke piece.

Personally, was never really a fan of Bannon. Had done stuff while at Breitbart that affected others that I didn't quite agree with or endorse (nothing to do with the BS between Fields and Lewandowski; this was other folks). That said, he's better off outside the direct flow of the administration. He does have reach and contacts that can be leveraged in support of the God-Emperor's objectives.

Anonymous Looking Glass August 18, 2017 2:24 PM

Yup, we can already judge how Trump is governing. I quite like it.

But, and it bears repeating, Bannon is a top-tier Media guy. What does #MAGA need? A TV channel. Consistent News Outlets. Yeah, the New Right is killing it on Social Media, but you need professional Video & Optics for normal distribution.

Trump needs someone to "Fox News" well, Fox News and the rest of the MSM. Who would like to do that? Well, Steve Bannon. And Robert Mercer would love the influence & profit from it. If I can see the opening from half a world away, I'm quite certain that Bannon can.

It was either supposed to be Jeb! or Hillary and if they got Jeb! he would probably be signing some sort of Amnesty bill (named something insulting like the border security bill) right now with Rubio Schumer and McCain standing proudly next to him. Then Jeb! would probably virtue signal and out good boy the left by starting a "frank conversation" and as a proud reform minded conservative would lead the effort to turn the page on those evil southerners (iconoclasm of southern culture) because nothing makes a cuckservative smile more than fucking over your base.

(It's absolutely fascinating how NOBODY mentions that this was the SECOND march/demonstration at Charlottesville in two months. Nobody talks about the earlier one, or about what can be inferred from the differences between the two.)

He's even gotten my mother (choice quote: "I'm rather more to the left than you") to refer to him sympathetically as "our poor president" and to say to anyone that will listen "but he's actually right!"

As for Bannon, if the reports of his talk with The American Prospect are accurate (and I have seen no claims that they aren't), he can go jump in a lake, along with McConnell, and Ryan, and McCain, and Romney. I have no idea what Bannon thought he was doing, but Trump, at least, has never made a point of calling his own supporters "losers".

I love Mike and all the good he can do, but think of it this way: "managing" the PACs are part of Pence's job. (Even if he can't technically manage them, his network of contacts would be the ones that do.) Trump is a high-flying CEO. He delegates everything so he can think through the next things he needs to assign for someone to carry out.

He is, notably, rather good at it.

Bannon's departure and, particularly, Charlottesville has the Left higher than they've been since the Michael Brown - gentle giant, hands up - uproar.

It's important to stay cool and remember that Trump won Missouri by a whopping 18.7 points compared to Cuck Romney's 9.4 points.

That's a gigantic increase that was undoubtedly largely due to the quiet simmering disgust and anger of the patriotic White population.

If Trump stays aggressive and resolute there will likely be a similar result in the 2018 midterms.

"Goy" is Hebrew for nation. In the plural "goyim" it is used in the Bible to mean the (non-Jewish) nations. The plural word is translated in the Latin Bible as "gentes", from which we get "gentiles". In the Greek Bible it is translated as "ethnoi", from which we get "ethnic".

Today the word just means non-Jew in a rather derogatory way, i.e. "he's gone and married a goy girl."

(Andrew Johnson) Hardly anyone remembers that he was a Democrat from Tennessee, when that state was not re-admitted to the Union until 1866. (The first to be re-admitted.)

Likewise for Franklin Roosevelt. Few people can recall the names of all three vice presidents that FDR had....John Garner during the Depression years, Henry Wallace during much of the war, and Harry Truman, sworn in less than three months before becoming president. Yes, we only remember Truman.

Grayman wrote:...There is a small problem of massive voter fraud STUDY: 3.5 MILLION MORE REGISTERED VOTERS THAN ELIGIBLE VOTERS IN US...

There is a problem but it is not quite as bad as it seems. A root cause of the overage is that when a registered voter moves from one state to another state and registers to vote in the new state, they are now registered twice. The vast majority don't vote twice. Some do -- out of state activists college students do, as do some of (((those))) who moved from New York to Florida and maintain both addresses (the snowbirds).

The cause of the overage is that each state has its own mechanism for clearing out voter rolls, and it usually takes 2 to 4 years. Very few people contact the voter registration registry in the state they are moving away from to clear their name off the registry, they just move away.

Whatever's more than doubling-down, this is it. Leftists are really feeling their oats and thinking one death at one rally justifies absolutely anything they want to do to people they don't like. The cause of the overage is that each state has its own mechanism for clearing out voter rolls, and it usually takes 2 to 4 years. V

Thanks to Clinton's Motor VoterFraud it takes longer than that, which enables the important dead-American voter. The same Fraud act lets the motor vehicle department register voters with such "ID" as utility bills. This is how millions of illegals wind up voting in California. Plus some California voters in some districts live in parking garages, storage units or empty lots, but they still vote every 4 years.

Read the terms of service.

The problem is that almost any TOS today is going to prohibit "abusive" behavior or something like that, so as soon as an SJW reaches an enforcement position, that can apply to anything at all. Out of curiosity, I searched DigitalOcean's help for their TOS, and the first thing I found was this complaint:

"I submitted 14 complaints to the abuse and legal department of Digital Ocean about one of their customers publishing racist, defamatory, threatening, hateful and anti-Semitic material about me, members of my family, my deceased mother, my customers, and even minority friends. I understand freedom of speech allows racists scum to publish such information. But in this case, this is clearly against the TOS of Digital Ocean. Yet, your stands by this racists piece of garbage and allows him to publish his trash. I even personally visited the office of Digital Ocean in Manhattan and informed them of the website that is publishing hateful and defamatory material about me and other Jews and minorities. But Digital Ocean does not care. "

Sounds like my kind of hosting company! But that was last May. I doubt the wording of their TOS has changed at all, but convergence happened, so now the same TOS that was ignored a little more than a year ago is being used without discretion. Unless a TOS says, "We don't censor our customers, period, so no bitch to us," you really have no idea.

Nothing about hate speech or any of that nonsense specifically, but they define malicious content that would violate their acceptable use policy thus:

"Malicious Content
1,3,1 - Any type of script, code, or other file that performs harmful action, either to the user affected or as a bulk action triggered by the user.
1,3,2 - Any content that violates Canadian, United States, and Luxembourg laws.
1,3,3 - Knowingly permitting or hosting Malicious Content is grounds for immediate termination, and a permanent ban from any future service."

I'll have to ask for clarification about point 1.3.2, because while I don't know about Luxembourg's speech laws, Canada is absolutely nuts and getting worse all the time. Read literally, they're saying malicious content violates all three countries' laws, but they might mean any one of the three. I can think of a dozen ways I might violate Canada's hate speech laws without even trying to be edgy. Hell, I might violate non-hate speech laws too; I don't know what crackpot laws they have up there about technical information re: my various hobbies.

@144 "My guess is that the real reason Bannon left"

You guess based on what? Your FEELZ?!

@147 "Can't trust Pence. Any man who'd force his family to sit through "Hamilton" is obviously a demented sociopath
Who cares far too much about what the Left thinks."

On the other hand, and once again, always: LOOK at the optics *as if* you were a normie. (None of Vox's regular readers is a normie: Try hard!) The new VP takes his lovely American family to see a Broadway show -- and he is/they are HARANGUED and ASSAULTED after it by the actors.

NEVER EVER FORGET there is always an audience!

@151 "My understanding is..."

Based on what, provided by whom, to what end?

On the internet there is solid information, DIS-information, and just-crazy information. (Hence, Vox's "wait two days.")

Media, both ours and theirs, (have to) jump on and throw out ANYthing they can, to try to get clicks and views. Yes, sure, some of our guys usually try to verify -- and some/most of THEIR guys need to get an okay from their owners (or they get the disinfo straight from them) -- and WE must try to winnow out what's real.

The God Emperor said, long long ago: unless we hear it directly FROM HIS MOUTH -- do not believe what the media tells you!
