The rise of the American nationalists

The fact that the Republican establishment cannot understand the emotional appeal of this new Kid Rock song, or the pride possessed by those they dismiss as "white trash", is why the God-Emperor will likely be more powerful after 2018 than he is now. Both Kid Rock and Trump represent is a civic nationalist, traditional American heritage spirit that is nevertheless identity-aware, if not pure identity politics, and stands directly in the way of the social justice, diversity, inclusivity, and equality Left.

It's Alt Lite, not Alt Right. It's populist, neither intellectual nor ideological. And while it's ultimately insufficient, it nevertheless represents a tremendous step forward for Americans, because, unlike the Diversity Left, which hates America, and the Establishment Right, which cares about nothing except GDP and the well-being of the donor class, the Trump nationalists love America.

I think Kid Rock will win a Senate seat if he actually runs, because on the basis of this video alone, you can see that his rhetoric is powerful and his political instincts are formidable. Girls, guns, motor vehicles and beer is about as American as it gets, while the uncharacteristic absence of rebel flags and the inclusion of black rednecks is almost certainly significant given the demographics of Michigan. It's not a bad song either.

Hot women, bikinis, heavy weaponry & good trigger discipline.

Sometimes, it's rough being on a different continent. I'd love to vote for the man, even if I'm not from MI. Which apparently doesn't matter to Democrats.

Not a huge fan of the imagery in the video, but there's a big difference between "this is how things are" and "this is how things should be", and the video is the former.

That said, I'm always happy when political candidates show off how much they love gun people. Much preferred over "I support the 2nd Amendment but..."

Kid Rock also got his start as a DJ at primarily black clubs and events. Trying to smear him with their normal tactics would be a whole new level of fail for the Dems. I hope they try.

Nothing at all wrong with the imagery in this video. I will take these people over Richard Spenser's tweed jacket any day of the week.

Is it just me or did that whole video just scream "fun"? When's the last time you saw anything from the Left that even hinted that they know how to have a good time?

Also, the last image of the little girl holding the U.S. flag is about as iconic of our future struggle as anything I've seen.

Some have mentioned that he made it as a Rock-Rapper at a time when that wasn't a thing, along with surviving and still putting out albums. He's had staying power no one in his musical generation has. That points to some deep talent.

Some of those folks need to put some clothes on. Others need to take more off.

Hillbillies, farmers, etc. are belittled and taught in the school system to flee their roots. That the things that make them (which includes strong family and love of their community, self sufficiency) are things to be ashamed of by fat, ignorant, miserable, barren cat women with education degrees. Some rebel by becoming citified and emulating the faux sophistication of those who despise them. Most, though, just do not give a flying f*ck what some haggard yankee wannabe screech owl thinks.

The genius of the video and the song.. they are having FUN and living life. " Bible by the bed and a bottle on the table".. Destroys the left's mindset to denigrate Christians as judgemental puritans. University kids have no idea this America exists. Sure they ain't got money, but they have family and friends ( of differing skin color ), some are fat, and old, some are young, some are scruffy... but they are living life, and having fun and don't give a shit,... but they love their country.

I'd say that song and that video are a very well done. Kid Rock will win if he runs. And Michigan will be lost to the Democrats even more than it ever was. In fact, IF Kid Rock runs, more like him will run, and that my friends will be the tell, that the worm will have turned. The left will run Cloony or Oprah or others who think they can run , but that will be the end of the PC/identity politics of the hard left.. and therefore, they'd face oppo from the left and right.

The Northeast has had its own rebel flag:

https://i.ytimg.com/vi/LoAKP5Cajww/maxresdefault.jpg

It made up the canton of the flag flown from Breed's Hill.

And although the Gadsden Flag came out of South Carolina, its roots trace back to a Boston boy, Benjamin Franklin who first promoted the rattlesnake as an emblem of defiance.

Although our rednecks may have a different culture than those of the south, they are still good ol' boys. It is very much a matter of city vs. country here.

My latest theory on why nations, or maybe just our nation is collapsing. The reason is that the cognitive elite feel no loyalty to the lower classes of their own ethnicity. They don't need to feel loyalty precisely because they are so cognatively elite. When a person is very intelligent, that person doesn't need to compete at the group level and may even be held back by doing so. It is only the average of intelligence that benefit by competing as groups. This is why the elite promote individualism so much. It's not that they believe in individualism as a philosophy so much as they are just acting in their own self interests. This is also why you find very condecending people disparaging white trash and stupid nazi scum in the comment pages of many articles.

But the corrolary is, that as the super intelligent abandon their own ethnicity, they open a giant soft spot for other more united ethnicities to attack.

My guess is that the lower class "white trash" will breed out with the incoming brown masses, while the highly intellectual classes will become a ruling Jew-class and may even morph into Jews themselves. Of cource eventually the brown masses will massacre the elite ruling half-Jews and the cycle will be complete.

It's pretty good for a civic nationalist approach. IF, and that is a large qualifier, IF Kid Rock stands his ground and doesn't run for cover or backpedal when the leftists threaten to call him mean names, he will probably win.

It is very nice to see that sort of imagery being used in public.

Not a big fan of the civic nationalists, but a win for them is a lot better than a win for the communist left.

Unfortunately the Republicans aren’t going to win this fight, or in fact any other fight, for us. They have no fight in them, even those who aren't entirely on the side of the leftists, which is most.

"My latest theory on why nations, or maybe just our nation is collapsing. The reason is that the cognitive elite feel no loyalty to the lower classes of their own ethnicity."

That is the traditional theory. There is unity during the rise, then the elite gets involved in status games with other elite and the competition for power destroys society. The phrasing changes but the description by Nrx would be intelligible to Cato the Elder.

"They don't need to feel loyalty precisely because they are so cognatively elite. When a person is very intelligent, that person doesn't need to compete at the group level and may even be held back by doing so."

This I'm going to have to disagree with. It isn't that the elite don't need this things. It is that the lower classes represent potential upstarts. Screwing them over prevents the elite from losing its status.

@Forge the Sky:

The US flag in this ranking of best designed national flags, written by an American, doesn't make the top 20.

"Since I am an American and most of the readers of this post are too, I feel that I should explain why the Star Spangled Banner does not appear in my top 20. While the American flag evokes emotions (see above) it misses on many of the guidelines listed above. It’s not simple. It’s kind of clunky. It also takes too long to explain its meaning. Also, U.S. flag jerseys just look ridiculous (see here) and I really don’t like the new flag look for the national soccer teams. Please bring back the white tops!"

http://rachelbrandon.com/adventures-in-vexillology-the-top-10-best-designed-flags/

To sum up, it’s a decent flag, but its meaning by far outweighs its design chops. Sorry Betsy Ross.

It's pretty good for a civic nationalist approach.

I don't know Rock's platform, but this video looks a lot more Alt-Right than civic nationalist to me. Sure, it shows whites and blacks partying and being American together. But where are the naturally conservative Hispanic-Americans, the hard-working Asian-Americans, the well-assimilated Refugee-Americans? Seems pretty exclusionary.

I'd expect the typical civic nationalist response would be more like Leo's above: "Not a huge fan of the imagery in the video, but..." Which is why they will join us eventually.

You've misread his remarks. He said he used to feel that way. Since then he's learned and grown as a person.

As have I. I grew up a city boy and thought it was the end all, be all. Now, as a grown man, I just desire a rural lifestyle as far away from cityfolk as possible.

If you ain't ever been out in the country and had a mud pit the kids were playing in, run 4 by 4's through it or a big ole tug-of-war in one where somebody broke and arm, you're missing something.

And damn straight on the rural celebration. Hell we get half-sticks set off here for fun and folks playing with their nightvision and guns all the time. I couldn't even count the gun stores and personal ranges in this county.

Who does the Conceal Carry training in the city? We do. Whose high schools still have shooting competitions? You betcha. And for accuracy I'll take any redneck, his wife, or kids over a whole tribe of bangers.

(Sorry, old boomer woman rant: Maybe it IS a generational matter... but I want to bring it up.)

Hierarchy. I want hierarchy. I'm sure some of the folks 'acting' in this video are lovely folks. (I know some, not many, of that apparent sort; but I'm only 20 years in the South, and very solidly middle class. An example: I adore my (subcontractor) machinist who used to race NASCAR (and whose shop still builds and races), smokes like a chimney, served as a grunt in Viet Nam, drives an old Corvette, and takes cross-country motorcycle trips with wife and friends. But he ALSO does CAD/CAM design, owns a six-figure machining biz and graduated from law school! (He is NOT jumping into mud puddles! And he still manages to have tons of good times!)

I recognized back in the military that there is a HUGE difference between the officer class and the enlisted. NOT that there weren't truly donkey-dumb officers (and quite a few of them, actually!) and some smarter-than-hell enlisted -- at all levels for both. (The exceptions, not the rule!)

However, I think my ... dismay? concern? reflexive recoil? ... at that video comes from a discussion with the fiance' of our foster daughter. Lovely solid hard-working upper-lower-class man. Ex-Navy electrician. I REALLY liked and respected him (for who he was...) But we were discussing something political / sociological / anthropological and I was horrified to discover that he had neither interest nor desire to learn anything about ... well, pretty much anything!

He said: "If it doesn't affect the mission, then I don't need to know it." (!!) And, yes, he got a lot of his "guess I need to know it" from listening to Limbaugh. (Oh dear GOD!)

How many of those 'salt of the earth' folks shooting, smoking, and rolling in the mud (without whom, yes, we cannot have a nation/country) do you think we can rely on to make ACTUAL decisions about ACTUAL matters?! WHY would anyone think they would NOT vote for 'more welfare for the mommas without no man'? On what basis could we possibly rely on them to figure out a way to deal with the Norks other than "bomb their ass"!

I realize almost none of you 'kids' have been truly exposed to the majesty and glory of the Brahms or Verdi Requiems; to the intricacy of Bach's ... well ... everything. The amazing paintings and sculptures and architecture and every damned thing that MAKES White Euro-derived civilization the highest and best ever.

I suppose it's easier to 'herd' the folks like those in that video to vote in a way that we hope might save the country -- as Vox says: you have to be pretty intelligent to 'convince yourself' to believe in the stupid shit the libs cling to.

But, is that lowest class, uneducated, (apparently) uninterested in (self-)education, just getting by group of folks the ones who will build the new America? Is this a class difference? A generational difference? A lack of exposure to the beauty that was White civilization difference?

I couldn't pass this test!

Outside Chicago, Illinois is like red state South.

Illinois est omnis divisa in partes tres:

1. Chicago.
2. The rest of the northern half, which is similar to Wisconsin and Iowa. Midlands. Nice White People. Things tend to look a bit more prosperous, and appearances matter more.
3. The southern half, which is more like Missouri or Kentucky. Greater Appalachian. More of everything you see in this video. Less wealth, more freedom, more ZFG.

So, go down along the river on the Illinois side today, across from and below Hannibal, and you'll find pretty much this. There probably won't be as many blacks, the women won't be as boobalicious, and the guns won't be as nice. But the rest? Oh yeah.

The Northwest, South, and Midwest rural areas, in my experience, have a lot more in common with each other than they do with the dead zone rural areas (WY, CO, MA, UT, etc.). I think it's probably driven by terrain and climate, but I'm not sure.

Blogger Dirtnapninja August 20, 2017 1:52 PM

Its funny how black ghetto trash culture is celebrated, yet white hick culture is denigrated. Which has cost more damage?

It ultimately comes down to status signalling. The white technocratic classes that run stuff have a weak identity. They have no soil, and very little blood. They have no sense of history beyond the blandest pop culture. So they wrap themselves up in status symbols, and turn that into their identity. That's why they are so obssessed with authenticity and the consumption of other cultures..so much of their own identity is fake or ephemeral.

They hate the white working class so much because of the fear of contamination. They fear being mistaken for one of them. This threatens their status, and thus their very identity. So they must signal very hard against working class and rural whites so as to show others "we are not one of them". Yet they crave the stronger sense of identity and rootedness these people have..so they consume their culture in an ironic sense, but in actually the irony masks a much deeper longing.

This video strikes right at those fears and anxieities of the white middle class. Its really saying to them "we know who we are and we are going to shove it in your face in an almost obscene way"

The rapacious monstrosity of an economic system combined with a government that would rather look to the needs of foreigners than its own citizens has cost these people dearly. How much good white potential has been lost to this sickening vortex centrally planned poverty?

I'm the first to say that I don't like how it looks on the surface, but on reflection, Vox has made a good point, and I now see that it's a mistake to write these people off on aesthetic grounds. We have to get over it and realize that we need these people.

In the South, they might be registered Democrat and vote Democrat in local elections, but for state and national level elections they vote Republican, which really isn't any better.

In many rural Southern areas, the local Democrats are the ones who only ones who have a party apparatus. If you want to vote for sheriff, County Executive, or any other county level office, you have to be able to vote in the primary because there probably won't be a Republican on the ballot in the general election. @Dave I'm overdue for my mudbath. Last one was a few years back when the fam got together for a huge 3 or 4 day Independence weekend celebration. Guns, great food and drink, 4 wheelers and mudding were themes.

The celebration on the Fourth rivaled a small town fireworks show as thousands of dollars of fireworks were laid out and set of to a soundtrack of patriotic music one of my nephews put together. It was a damn good time.

This may prove effective for winning elections in our idiocracy. But this is too much for me. I identify with these people as I have family just like them who I get along with.

But comes across like it's gratuitously celebrating their degraded state. It's a different shade of the new age country music that caricatures country folks in its own way. The people shown here have been uprooted from their traditions and values like everyone else. They were once clean kept, dignified people with functional families who still took pride in all the guns and liberty and ruggedness.

But Kid Rock seems to pedestal some trashy pregnant girl walking around in a pair of panties and fat guys riding lawn tractors and tatoos and lots of degenerate imagery.

I have symapthy for these folks, we need to get the country reconnected with them, but I want to promote something better for them, not glorify their present state the way this does.

@89. Avalanche, I have to say, having been homeschooled, and with parents who I would estimate as both in possession of IQs in the 118-130 range, I'm not exactly a slog. As to your test at the bottom, it depends on the passing grade. If it were 70% or lower, I'd perhaps scrape by, and this as someone who hits pretty easily in the 98th to 99th percentiles on modern day population-scale aptitude tests without even studying or trying very hard.

I know exactly what you're talking about with Brahms and Bach, and would add Vivaldi, Wagner, Beethoven and many others to that list (I actually had a collection of no less than 50 CDs stuffed to the brim with old classical composers at one point, and I'd listened to them all at least once, with many, many repeats for certain favourites). I can tell you a fair amount about the nuances of Greek and Roman architecture as well, for instance.

Yes, it sucks to try to communicate or socialize with most normal people for any length of time north of a few minutes.

On the other hand, my abnormality, even if it is in possessing a high level of general intelligence, is certainly not largely to my benefit. Time and time again I find the esoteric logical reason or proof of something that simpler people would tell you axiomatically. My intelligence allows me to immediately see potential possibilities for the axiom to fail, and it takes me weeks and years of exploration and observation to find out why it actually fits in the most abstract terms possible.

It also serves to separate me from other people in that they are often annoyed by my "obsessiveness". I can tell you that most peoples' attention spans max out at 15 minutes long, and this even includes many people that I would consider quite well educated. I can hang onto an "interesting" topic for often hours at a time, but it benefits me not at all because while I've been plumbing the depths, everyone else has moved on within minutes and care not in the least.

Sure, we can "get" the great old arts, but think to yourself. Who else listened to that Bach, Beethoven and Vivaldi to begin with? It was almost entirely the aristocrats and court society, because they were the ones who could (and did) afford to patronize highly skilled musicians and composers. Most of those peoples' family lines have died out now, often because of the same decadence that allowed them to afford those niceties in the first place.

At some level, the crudity of talking and acting plainly ("hey baby, you wanna get it in later?") works for procreation, whereas being hyper productive mega-mind that no one really has a particular soft spot for just makes you a massive target for the types of parasites that are just a biiit smarter than the average person. You get sapped out, monetized, and hooked to the treadmill to run your life away and have (if you're fortunate) much less than two children per couple at best in a "genetic shredder" like Singapore, for example.

Too much specialization doesn't pay. It just makes you a tool that no one else even recognizes.

Blogger SouthRon August 20, 2017 3:36 PM

You know. These are the sort of people we should be able to reach and lead to a better future. If, and its a big if, we can restore parts of this country and give these people hope in the future and in Christ, many of them would be happy to leave the self-medication and rush of endorphins associated with promiscuous sex and tattoos behind. At heart many are simple people who love God, as they know him, and they don't need much to urge them in the right direction.

Did you not look at that video -- and the buckets of praise thrown at it here? It may BE generational; I see they're having 'fun' -- but I don't see much ability to save this country!

Maybe I'm too serious about the cultural trappings; maybe I see WAY too much destruction already happening. I don't see much hope in those folks having fun driving -- and rolling -- in mud!

I grew up with a conductor father, an opera singer mother, and singing myself in choirs and choruses. The CLOSEST I have come to believing in God was signing the Brahams Requiem in a church: if SOMEONE could believe that deeply, that completely, that fervently in God, to write such glorious music, why then maybe there was one.

NONE of the kids I know now have any familiarity with the music of our civilization. Guys here at VP lament the 'pop-rock-crap' in their churches, in places of actual hymns and music.

"And you might be surprised the composition of rural America. Sure some are not classically educated or well off but they're also not amongst the gibmedats. They'd rather be poor and proud than standing there with their hand out.

I might be surprised. But the workin' folks I work with -- several machininsts, an anodizer, a guy running precision lathes, an industrial/machinery designer (all good ol' Southern boys whom I love and respect deeply) -- the PRODUCTIVE folks in metalworking and machining and building stuff -- aren't throwing themselves in mudpits. (I loved the shooting outdoors, all I have access to are indoor ranges.)

We also have lawyers, doctors, accountants, IT folks, engineers and more that make their living out here or drive into the burbs or city while raising cattle and other stuff.

Take a breath and unclench a bit.

Really, I'm trying to -- and I suppose Kid Rock (who I do hope get elected) is better than whatever else is on offer -- but HOW will we save the 'best' of our culture? Do these "lawyers, doctors, accountants, IT folks, engineers" of whom you write have any care for the magnificent architecture of Europe that the moslems are defiling? I question how much patriotism black people can honestly have in this country. They were slaves and systematically discriminated against for the better part of our history. Not under the Spanish, and not under it's latest, American sugar daddy.

Also, because I like English more than Spanish, mostly because I can't under stand the syntax and grammar of Spanish (or any non-English language I've encountered and tried learning by bashing my head against the wall).

@113 Your comment here reveals the absurd prejudice you're working under. You "realize" that they've "never been exposed". Your realization is straight-up false. You'd be amazed at the number, education and quality of incredibly talented musicians who compose, play and listen to country music and R&R. Like Kid Rock, for instance.

Um, yeah, but see? Listening to and playing country and rock&roll is NOT what I mean by glorious classical White/Euro-derived music. R&R was mostly negro music; do you not remember, were you not here, back when Elvis and the rest were derided for that?

You'd obviously be surprised by both the quantity and the quality of writing, poetry, and art going on out here, away from your galleries and opera houses.

My family were opera and classical musicians; I joined the Navy out of college. I don't go to galleries and I don't care for opera. BUT, there is no question that a huge part of our White Euro-derived history: in art, music, architecture, design, etc., has been derided and ignored; KEPT from young people (there are no music programs in schools now that actually use that music: "It's Christian, it's NOT ALLOWED!" Where, then, will young folks ever hear it?

Believe it or not, you're just bigoted against your own kind.

Hmmm, I don't think so. I said, and say, that those folks acting in that video are certainly necessary – and are fully a part of our future White nation, if we can get there! I suppose there is no chance that any of the classical parts of what made our civilization would be motivational to the folks we need to get to the voting booths.

is that lowest class, uneducated, (apparently) uninterested in (self-)education, just getting by group of folks the ones who will build the new America?
Why not? We built the old one.

Surely you don't think any of the folks in that video – or their ilk they are intended to represent – could actually pass that 1912 8th-grade test? It may be the case that that level of education was not necessary for the 'building of the old one' -- but I am dubious.

Avalanche, IIRC, your a lady, if not my apologies WRT my memory around names and people. I mean no offense toward you with the following.

I was like you and had many of the same attitudes when I was younger. I'm at least a standard deviation above Vox and grew up reading Greek and so forth, yet he is much more effective than I.

There is a reason why Scripture says, "not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence."

This was a very hard pill to swallow and he had to break me before I was of any use to anyone. Realize that we are at the utter extremes of the bell curve and no change in culture can be had at only the extremes.

Sure we need thought leaders like Vox, we need people like myself that have expended some of that intelligence learning to speak to normal folk, and we need a large portion of that 66% clustered around the center of the bell curve to win this battle.

They will never be generals. They do not need to lead. We need them to stand in solidarity with us and fight back the decay that makes their own look like virtue. We need numbers to win this battle and popularizers like Trump and KR provide a doorway to reach them.

Everyone we reach on the opposite side of culture, on the opposite side of the bell curve is one less we have to fight.

You have this weird idea that the elites and their "Culture" builds nations.
They don't and they never have. They've tried many many times and every single time they try, they wind up with yet another big gulag. The USSR was built by the Elites. What builds functional nations is peasants, and their hard work, faith, and bloody-mindedness.

@123 How many of your things that "ACTUALLY MATTER" are problems caused by your "elite" hierarchy? How many of them are things that really do actually matter? Very few of them I would suspect.

Do you think these folks did NOT vote for the 'elite' who have done all these things? There are and always will be things that actually matter and that require attention. My partly woke friend keeps saying that the incumbents will get back in because they ALWAYS get back in: did not these people vote them back in, every time?!

*IF* we manage to find good solid Alt Right, Trump supporters in all 50 states to run for congress and throw out the RINOs and NeverTrumpers -- how will these people be convinced to vote for them? Or is that too detailed until we actually ID these hoped-for replacements?

North Korea is a problem because of the elites. If we didn't have troops in Asia, North Korea would not be a problem at all.

Really? You believe if we pulled the troops OUT of all of Asia, North Korea would somehow turn into a reasonable rational actor and quit with the nukes?

Welfare? Thank your elites. Who keeps voting them in? How do we STOP them from voting them in? Will Kid Rock do it? Or will he make too many of us old-fogey middle class folks go: "uh, no -- WAY too vulgar and offensive!" (Yeah, I know, taking the vote from the boomers would help -- good luck with that!)

(And please realize, if I have the money later, I will send some to Rock. He's better than any alternative i can imagine form that state! But, more of what I have will go to the things I see as important VDare, AMREN, Alt Hero, Castalia, Vox if he ever gets it set up...)

As for your "Euro" culture, there are international flights taking off every hour headed to Europe. I am American and American culture and civilization work just fine for me.

Are you another one educated in modern American schools? Not familiar (enough) with how deeply our White Euro-derived culture is based on and intertwined with White European civilization? But America has made them ugly far more than they have made America ugly.

Bingo. I was talking to a civic nationalist today and he was reciting the usual litany about how many Americans (white ones, in our area) just don't want to work, and would rather go on the dole, but somehow they still afford their cigs and tats.

Leaving aside the question of how true that is: if it's true, what's the solution? What should we do about the 400-pound guy who gets disability and spends it on meth to smoke while he sits in his mudhole? Keep writing those checks and bring in a couple Mexicans to do the drywall mudding he could be doing, so now we have three net drains on the system and the native culture being undermined? Or act like a community and put the American to work, even if it means we also have to kick some corporations in the ass and make them pay more?

The civic nationalist mentioned how the Amish in the area don't have unemployment (they don't pay into it, either; they went to the Supreme Court to get exempted). If one of them doesn't have anything to do, an Amish neighbor will put him to work. That's when some of this fell into place for me: so why don't we do that? Why, when we see a fat white man lounging around, do we just write him off and start looking to replace him? If we're not going to let him starve -- and we're not, lolbertarian fantasies aside -- we're on the hook for him either way, so shouldn't we take a shot at shaping him up?

I'm not advocating FDR-style make-work programs; but I can't see how those could be worse than the current system of putting a big chunk of the native population on the dole and trying to replace it with workers cheap enough that the savings on wages can cover the costs at both ends. That's not just a bad idea, it's an insane idea.

@135 (And the thought that the appreciation of classical music is lost on us bumpkins is laughable.)

God I hope you're right!

Ted Nugent says that Kid Rock isn't going to be running for any office.

I haven't been following it closely, but it kinda looks like Uncle Ted was mulling the idea of running for the seat himself for several months, and then Rock jumped in. Maybe he got tired of waiting. Too bad they're in the same state.

@108 Hey...are you on Gab? I really like the cut of your jib.

@Avalanche:

"Negro music" isn't quite as negro as Negros would have you believe. Look into Muscle Shoals, for example: There's even a pretty even-handed and edifying documentary about it.

Anonymous Avalanche August 20, 2017 4:38 PM

@146 But comes across like it's gratuitously celebrating their degraded state. It's a different shade of the new age country music that caricatures country folks in its own way. The people shown here have been uprooted from their traditions and values like everyone else. They were once clean kept, dignified people with functional families who still took pride in all the guns and liberty and ruggedness.

This, oh this, 100%! YES! They are acting out the stereotype the media have laid on the salt-of-the-earth folks! They are participating in the ridicule of them that is intended to make people like me recoil. I'm not some pinky-lifting tea drinker -- I am ex-Navy and run a manufacturing company (yes, that means I run a drill press and an arbor press -- soldering but no welding, but it's not called for). I shoot and teach people to shoot.

I'm not some fainting violent -- (ha! Good Freudian slip: fainting violet) -- but I want my people uplifted, I want them to GLORY in our race and civilization, to strive and achieve -- NOT to roll in the mud and think it's cool. MY ancestors fought indians (sorry, Vox) AND read philosophy. They raced their workhorses across the fields to the steeple (hence, steeplchase, eh?); they hhelp4d their neighbors build barns and birth babes and piglets. A couple generation back, a relative was scalped and left for dead -- but he survived.

SO many Americans have 'bought' the degradation they've been sold. And this is where Trump differs YUUUUGELY from Rock: TRUMP is looking for uplift, the pride, and a future. Rock (in this video for sure; maybe he'll tone it down) is saying eff you to anyone not okay with degradation.

I live outside Detroit. Kid Rock will win. The latest election was due to the unions losing a lot of their political hold on the locals.

The uniontard shoprats have finally started figuring out why their kids and the grandbabies are living in Denver and North of SanFran.

The Blacks are just getting sick of getting screwed. The City of Detroit has a White mayor, and he is getting reelected. A White boss ran the city schools for a year and people didn't pay much attention to the Black pastors crying about it.

Unless this Nazi/KKK=GOP push the media is doing ends up working, Michigan is staying GOP.

Avalanche: HOW will they realize this?

The same way anyone realizes the romance is over. They're being taken for granted -- worse than that, they're being blamed for someone else's problems -- and they're getting nothing in return. There's no way that can go on forever.

They work hard at terrible jobs, live in mobile homes, barely stay ahead of their debts, and yet they're told that they are what's wrong with America, because they're "privileged." They try their best not to be racist or sexist or homophobic, and judging by their posts on social media, they're deep into the cognitive dissonance stage of realizing that no matter what they do, they're guilty of "internalized (whatever)" and "microaggressions" and all the other neo-Marxist guiltisms. Like any lopsided relationship, it'll come to an end one way or another, and probably with a lot of anger once they realize what's been going on.

(Then, too, would your relatives listen to and like this video? Would this be persuasive to them to like and vote for Kid Rock?)

Yes, I think it's likely. As Mr. Plinkett frequently reminds us, it's a subtle thing: they may not notice the effect this sort of rhetoric has, but their brains do.

We need them to stand in solidarity with us and fight back the decay that makes their own look like virtue.

Perfectly put. White, rural culture has problems, some of which are reflected here. But it's in far better shape than urban culture, either rich or poor. It can be fixed, and we have to try anyway, because they're us.

171. Avalanche

Seriously, you worry too much about class. Working class people or even Po-Dunk are full of huge amounts of talents, including artistic, literary, musical and the whole nine yards.

Go on YouTube and watch the interviews of Eric Hoffer the dock worker philosopher to give you some idea.

If you would have seen the surface me, at 12 years old, you would have seen a kid who played baseball, football, and had adventures with mainly Rednecks, yet my reading level at that same age was the same as people graduating with their masters. I had read tons of classics, as well as lots of SF and other material. I also had read much unassigned history.

@Avalanche: If, in the course of cleansing this land of the Globalist taint, we lose every college, every museum and every opera hall. If all we have left are people like those in the video, we will still have come out ahead.

Avalanche,

I like you, I really do. You're just being a clueless Boomer+elitist. Go jump in the mud puddle on the next 4th of July celebration and see how you like it, maybe it will be rather fun for you.

How much of that music that forms the basis for what you think of as Western civilization was greeted with shrieks and pearl clutching when it first came out?

According to Milo, there is a rise of anti-American nationalist Jews:

A Daily Mail report has cited sources giving President Trump’s daughter Ivanka credit for the removal of Steve Bannon from the White House.

The article cites “Washington sources” when it says Bannon was “pushed out” by Ivanka because his ‘far-right’ views clashed with her Jewish faith.

“Jared and Ivanka helped push him out. They were concerned about how they were being viewed by the Jewish community,” claimed a source.

I managed to somehow nix my eloquent comment about how cultured rednecks are, how they have their own bell curve. Suffice to say that the redneck crafting his own mandolins, like my Uncle Freddie, is more cultured than 90% of the American population. Would he like this video? He would tell the women to put some clothes on. Otherwise? Probably, yes.

Blogger Hunsdon August 20, 2017 4:51 PM

Maybe if Avalanche actually believed in God I'd give her opinion more weight. As it is, I fear I lump her in with Camille Paglia: intelligent, interesting, but in the end . . . eh.

Blogger bobby August 20, 2017 4:52 PM

KR's vid is maybe a bit too much of a caricature of life in the country for me (and maybe others.) Maybe this is a regional difference - I'm from the midwest - but if I were doing an aspirational here's-what-good-rural-people-really-are video, I think I'd do it more on the Alan Jackson Small Town Country Man madel.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5zwq9RCeISY

Because I'd rather live in that vid than in KR's, and I think the people shown in it would make an even better country.

Blogger Cail Corishev August 20, 2017 4:53 PM

Then, too, would your relatives listen to and like this video?

Most of my relatives would turn it off at the pregnant chick in a bikini. But they're Nice White People, and most of them vote Republican anyway because they realize it's necessary even if they don't particularly like it. He doesn't need to reach them. If he can reach the people who will watch the whole thing and recognize themselves in it -- people who normally don't vote or vote Democrat because they've been told "Democrats are for The Little Guy" -- he will win in a walk.

As Mr. Plinkett frequently reminds us,

(Speaking of low-brow references that would offend most of my relatives...)

Anonymous Avalanche August 20, 2017 4:54 PM

@150 It also serves to separate me from other people in that they are often annoyed by my "obsessiveness".

Right there with you. I've had to learn that lots of folks are just NOT interested in *everything*. (I have a friend for whom the laughing rule is: "NO geology!" Come to think of it, I have two neighbors with the same rule. ) (They ALSO tease that: "I'm on the spectrum" -- meaning a bit of Asperger's -- because I DO dive into new topics to the deepest depths to see if there's anything there!

(Lately, having gone through "flat earth" -- which was fun and interesting (made me study perspective! But I still don't know how 'gravity' keeps water FLAT everywhere, but still allows birds to fly and humans to jump... and keeps the atmosphere from blowing off the globe at 1,037 mph) -- I'm now deep into the 'electric universe' stuff. Dunno yet for sure if there is any there there, but I'm having a ball looking for it!)

Anonymous Avalanche August 20, 2017 4:57 PM

@154 I'd tend to believe him. Why would KR want to wreck a pretty good life?

Why would President Trump?

OpenID markstoval August 20, 2017 4:58 PM

"Being "country-folk" and intelligent are not mutually exclusive."

I have known a lot of people whose IQ was probably between 85 and 100. These folks many people would say are not too bright. And yet many of them were hard working people who valued family and nation. (nation here defined as group of people who are bound together into a single body, through history, customs, value, language, culture, tradition, art and religion)

Sometimes the lower IQ are very decent people that I would rather trust my life to than the "smart guys". (but I have met high IQ decent people too of course)

There is more to a man than just his intellect.
