Alt⭐️Hero incoming

In tonight's Darkstream, I discussed the upcoming Alt⭐️Hero comics campaign on Freestartr. We expect to launch it in the next two weeks, as we need to finish the launch video and Freestartr needs to add a feature that will allow us to display a selection of the art and finished pages we've created.

And yes, Alt⭐️Hero is going to trigger SJWs like you will not believe. The reeeeeeeees are going to be audible in orbit. Here are two of the superheroes of the European Union's Global Justice Initiative, Rainbow and Redshift.

Awesome. Apparently, 2013 was when SJW convergence at Marvel happened. Sales have tanked and even with 80+ titles a month, they are still bleeding money.

Diversity and Comics deserves a ton of credit for exposing this rot.

side note: somewhere in Cerebus, not sure of exact #, but Dave Sim presented a detailed manual on how to self-publish, create independent comics.

Congrats.

It'll go over $25,000 in a single day, maybe in just a few hours. If you don't already know that for a certainty, you don't know your readers. This is more tangible than Voxiversity (which I also support), and most of us can think of ten people we'd give it to.

somewhere in Cerebus

This, right here. I have a deep and abiding affection for Dave Sim, loony that he is. Cerebus is one of the greatest graphic accomplishments ever.

Marvel had a strong Jewish angle forever, then in the 90s started to see diversity, but only as far as fighting homophobia and racism.

Only comic I collect anymore is anything by Richard Corben.

"Bottom line: Vox Day may be justified in his lawsuit against Gab.ai, but it is _really_ inappropriate to be going after Gab.ai in the present circumstance when just about every online network effect Internet monopoly giant should, by the same token, be sued into the ground many times over for similar liability issues. Quite honestly, this stinks to high heaven in an environment where Gab.ai is being threatened with the loss of their domain name as the alternative to Facebook for people otherwise deprived of the contemporary equivalent of free speech.

And, by the way, Vox Day has refused to address my arguments addressed to him privately and politely in email even though by rights I have a good deal of track record that should demand a response, including with Pournelle who he holds in such high esteem that his passing is far more important to him than the debate with Andrew Anglin.

He doesn't impress me -- at least not in a positive manner."

If I have any criticism at this point, is that I'm not sure about the name; As it could turn off some people from a story they would otherwise enjoy, given the inevitable comparisons the mainstream will do to "those evil Nehzis supreeemists!".

Sure, those comparisons will be made regardless, but when you have something to be pointed at right in the name, which may scare many so-called "normies", it might be good to consider not giving the opposition such a convenient weapon.

That's precisely my point.
"Normies" will likely judge the work by its own merits IF the do read it. Only, I think the name might be used as a tool to help prevent them from doing so.

Remember, many among the average populace think the "Alt-Right" is basically the "Nazi party". While that may seem ridiculous to us, or the more informed, it is still the angle used by the mainstream to discredit the movemet's ideas; To at least some effect.

After watching the Periscope, I'm reminded of the song lyrics, about a cartoon, written by a good friend of mine who has since passed away, the late great Bob Childers. It just triggered some tangential reminiscence.

One potential corollary is the Acme Company (the establishment) has clearly stacked the deck in favor of the Roadrunner (Globalist SJW), but the scruffy alt-right coyote never gives up.

Now Wyle E. Coyote, I'm still on your side
Won't you hang in there brother
You're bound to survive
I hate that road runner as much as you do
He's a show off. He's smart ass and a communist too.

Now all them near misses, they ain't your fault.
The Acme Company's been ripping you off.
Sending you dynamite that won't detonate
and jet roller skates without any brakes.

Now all them contraptions and all of that fame.
What a high price to pay for just doing your thing.
But you're doin' alright. Things are comin' your way.
You're just an ol' coyote, but every dog has his day.

Now one of these days, them tables will turn.
That weird looking bird's got a few things to learn.
Old Wyle E. Coyote don't ever give in.
He just pulls himself together and he tries it again.

When Superman was first created in 1938, they were trying to make his costume look like the ones worn by circus strong men. It's a cultural thing that people in the time just before WWII would have understood.

Of course, once the SJW's took over, they changed Superman's costume the first chance they got.

Anonymous Raker Tooth September 21, 2017 12:38 AM

Do we get to make suggestions about villains? How about a guy that studies ancient weapons, tools, and energy forces, then uses them for crime. I once knew a guy nearly 7 feet tall who would throw circular saw blades like throwing stars. Downright unnerving the way they sounded sinking firmly into old oak planks. It's like eegads, I don't want to die that way...just use something newer, get it over with...
Or villains that want to revive ancient empires or ideologies. Not exactly unknown today, but would be interesting to see some Medo-Persians with lasers.

He is right that Vox attacking Gab now, demanding that they censor those insulting him or that they and all their contributors be forced off the internet, is a grave betrayal of the right of the Right to free speech, and shows that Vox can not be trusted to put even his own long-term interests ahead of his emotions of the moment.

What about "Fatima" the burka-clad muslim superheroine who acquired her super-powers when she was raped by a gang of radioactive refugees?

"Global Justice Initiative" wasn't clear enough on whose side those characters are on? Do they sound much like Alt-Hero to you, or establishment "heroes"?

That was exactly my (sarcastically histrionic) point.

I am looking forward to seeing "Greenwar". a Global-warming enthusiast member of the Global Justice Initiative who's superpowers include communicating with animals (They are nearly as stupid as he is) Turning deserts into paradise (and coincidentally choking out life everywhere the rain was SUPPOSED to fall) and beating up those deplorable climate change skeptics!

Hey, it would be a good excuse to introduce Curbstomper.

A good villain would be named "The Befuddler" who, when you engage it in combat, confuses you as to why you are doing it by bringing up non sequitirs, logical fallacies etc.

The antidote to the "Befuddler" would of course be "Unemotional Logic Man."

If you do, I will be forced to buy this comic.

That would be a world breaking power. All he'd have to do is walk through every campus and *poof* there be no more of this SJW nonsense.

No, I think it should be a power like "unnoticability". Given how hard SJW's deny reality, they'd refuse to see him, even as he beats them over the head and smashes them about the room.

Maybe... just maybe, a very small percentage of them would wake up after enough whacks about the noggin.
