NFL Week Three

Not a lot to say, except I'm not watching this week. The players understand this is about the cultural war. So does the President. I'm not sure what percentage of the NFL-watching public does, but it does appear to be statistically significant if Twitter is any guide.

This sort of calculated and specific disrespect is not incidental. It is intentional. Apparently all the Steelers but one boycotted the anthem. Yes, it's just symbolism, but symbolism matters. The Right used to understand this. Bud Grant's Vikings used to practice standing for the national anthem.
American football stars drop to their knees during national anthem at Wembley in protest defying Donald Trump after he said sportsman who 'disrespect America' should be SACKED. Players from Jacksonville Jaguars and the Baltimore Ravens dropped to their knees as national anthem played. No players were kneeling during the playing of 'God Save The Queen', which followed the US national anthem.
Regardless, discuss either the protests or the weekend action, as you see fit.

How awesome would it be if Steelers owner Art Rooney released his entire team tomorrow, except for Alejandro Villanueva? Talk about making a statement! They could go winless for the next three years, and they'd still wind up ahead on the merchandise sales alone.

Skol Vikings! I am reliably informed that Minnesota Vikings are the only team to not have a single player kneel for the anthem thus far. The legacy of Bud Grant remains strong.

I, for one hope the [offensively named] Washington Redskins go down in an epic defeat. Also would love for DW4 and the Texans to take that team that flaunts the oppressive red, white and blue colors, behind the woodshed and beat them sillier than the "Tuck Rule".

The great clarification under the God Emperor continues. Day by day more enemies of the American people are revealed. This makes it really easy, I already stopped watching the 49ers and all NFL games, will now stop watching the Warriors and the NBA, MLB is next to be dropped. Though Trump may be hobbled by Congress, he's making the most of the bully pulpit, what he's doing is heroic.

Time for some wind sprints, but send them on an upper deck gauntlet. Run by the seats where guys really saved and cut corners for those tickets. Worse than any receiver drill. Now, repeat until dark. "Welcome to the real NFL, snowflakes!

I all for these guys having free speech. ON THEIR OWN TIME, on their own property, Facebook pages, Twitters, etc.

This is about using their employer's forum to air their own grievances. And their grievance is against the USA.

So Tomlin is gonna keep them ALL hiding in the locker room? What about the players that DO want to stand for the anthem/flag? Can they tell him to piss off? Does their free speech count?

What does Villaneuva think about this? Apparently he said "no thank you" and went out to stand for the flag. Good for him.

Since this all started because Kaperdick attributed an American flag to police brutality, why don't the players go over to the on duty police officers at Heinz Field providing security and spit on them? Why insult the flag, which is so much more than just about police? The NFL would just LOVE those optics.

So Big Ben is a big supporter of the police, and pays for K9s for various departments. What does he think about this? Since we're all about free speech, is he allowed to say what he thinks on the field? How much ya wanna bet this is his final season?

Can players now tell the NFL to piss off about wearing hot pink all of October? Is that how this "free speech on your employers time" thing works?"

National Football League means Nationalist Football League, and everyone knew this until Goodell and his pinkbreasts infiltrated.

Blogger YIH September 24, 2017 1:41 PM

Well, I already covered that, so to move on...
I think it would be kinda neat to have a permanent NFL team in London, but keep the Jaguars name, logo and design. It's one of the few I'll watch this year.
That said, Yahoo! did pretty good with it, it looks they dropped the frame rate to 15fps (one live frame, one repeated frame) to keep the video quality good (no blurring, no pixellation) with the tradeoff being a slight jitter all the time. But it also allowed fast movement, on a long pass or run (and there were some) it didn't look like the runner jerked from yard to yard.
Not quite as good as FOX's Super Bowl online ''telecast'' but a lot better than last year where Yahoo! simply glommed onto the CBS feed.
The game itself showed that the Ravens got that 2-0 from beating the Clowns and the Bungles.
And of course, old rivals meet again...
Although, back then, the Bucs were usually roadkill for the Vikes.

If you want quick results, go after their advertisers--specifically Anheuser-Busch.

AB is one of the NFL's biggest advertisers. Switching off their product is easy and the lower sales numbers will show up QUICKLY. AB will pressure the NFL to get this fixed.

Turning of the TV in my case would have no effect (as I watch it over the air). Moreover, the NFL has been known to fudge, lie, and rationalize their viewership numbers as having nothing to do with the player's actions (as they did last year).

The Beer sales numbers can't be rationalized away.

Have you even read Ta-Nehisi Coates? He proves that the "whiteness" you cling to isn't even real:

"But race is the child of racism, not the father. And the process of naming “the people” has never been a matter of genealogy and physiognomy so much as one of hierarchy. Difference in hue and hair is old. But the belief in the preeminence of hue and hair, the notion that these factors can correctly organize a society and that they signify deeper attributes, which are indelible—this is the new idea at the heart of these new people who have been brought up hopelessly, tragically, deceitfully, to believe that they are white."

Well the Colts brought out a huge American flag that covered the field. Then they a white and a black sing the anthem as a duet, to symbolize unity.

And the players knelt there disrespecting all of it. The flag, the anthem, the unity singers.

Tonight the league is running an emergency prime time as telling everybody what a force of unity, not division, they are.

Yes, the guys who are intentionally goading you by pissing on your flag and anthem and (as above) calling you a stupid bigot, are out to tell you now that they are a force for unity, not division.

In Chicago the blacks are killing each other in far greater numbers than are being killed nationwide by cops. No one seems to give a damn about those black lives. I wonder why.

Cops are killing whites as well as blacks nationwide but no one cares about the white deaths. I wonder why. If blacks were not dangerous thugs who breaks laws in great proportion then perhaps they would not find themselves in the gun-sights of cops so often.

Anonymous Deadlocked September 24, 2017 2:41 PM

I'm not sure, but Trump's sports-related comments over the last few days might end up hurting him (and related movements) more than helping. Before this, the anthem protests in the NFL were pretty clearly connected to BLM or the like, and didn't go over well with lots of fans.

Now that Trump has gotten involved, this could go in two separate directions:

1) The "great clarification" that Nick mentioned above moves forward. The G-E's 4D chess encourages his base and sows disarray amongst his opponents.

2) The narrative changes, and the protests become anti-Trump. Or worse - they become anti-Trump but focus on his criticism of "free speech". Momentum shifts as Trump's high disapproval #s feed into the protests.

I think Trump was just voicing the opinion that many of us have (when they're on the field, the players should just shut up and play). The thing is, he's not just "Trump" - he's "President Trump". Whatever he says has the implicit force of the government behind it (even when that's not true).

Because of this, I think #2 is more likely. A lot of people won't see this as a man expressing his opinion - they'll see it as the government attacking free speech. And they won't like that one bit.

Whats funny is all the hostage video footage on display. How many players (white) are "voluntarily" showing support for their teammates (black). "This isn't about disrespecting white America and its tradition!, See I got a cracker right here next to me so there!"

This has always been about the "resistance" aka Obama grass roots organization to take down Trump. All the black athletes are being asked to support the greatest POTUS of all time Obama and his efforts against the racist Trump who is undoing everything Obama accomplished.

I don't think its coincidence that Trump's speech aligns with NFL players requesting the whole month of November to be "activist promotion" month. November? Huh, oh wait that's when most election voting happens. This is an attempt to use the NFL media platform as a Obama/Dem brainwashing platform right at election time. And the NFL team owners are playing along. Trump knows this and is given notice he will take an Axe to that platform unless the owners start acting like the adults in the room.

Blogger SemiSpook37 September 24, 2017 3:56 PM

Vox, the Steelers didn't boycott; they were told to stay in the locker room by Tomlin. Villanueva (a West Point grad) was the only one that defied that request, and understandably so. Personally, I think it's a better look for the Steelers that they were mostly out of sight for this, because that way, people don't have to pick and choose favorites on the roster for how their views reflect their own.

If you want some good entertainment because of this, check out the reactions of the Baltimore faithful after that little display in London this morning. Ratbird fans are losing their collective minds. Then again, what do you expect from a group of fans who openly support a bunch of criminals?

Someone upthread made a good point: part of this is due to the 30 year feud between the NFL front office and President Trump. Yeah, Trump was able to win the argument, but the jury's $1 damage award was a definite middle finger to him. If you ever saw the ESPN film "Small Potatoes", he's never been able to get over that whole situation.

And even with his comments, Trump's not wrong. Most people watch these games to get away from political crap, not be inundated with it. I could care less why someone sits, stands, kneels, etc. for the anthem. It's not like they show it for most games outside of the Thursday, Sunday, and Monday night games, anyway.

All in all might be a shrewd move by Tomlin to force the NFL to address the issue. Surely the NFL doesn't like the optics of the entire team-1 avoiding the National Anthem. But Tomlin can say for the sake of team unity he doesn't want to force his players to publicly take one side or the other.

USAA is a big sponser of the NFL. They specialize in selling insurance to veterans. Their customer base probably isn't on board with the protest.

But it's just the death rattle of the league starting early. CTEs will eventually kill the game because parents will stop letting their kids play. For now, the NFL - even before the protests - is doing everything it can to make the games unwatchable. In Detroit, the Lions scored the winning touchdown with 8 seconds left against Atlanta.

But five minutes later, the replay office overrulled, said the receiver was out of bounds on the 1, then declared there should be a 10 second runoff, so game over, Detroit loses.

It's the kind of low-quality product that makes it easy to walk away from the NFL. It's like Kaepernik writ large - not good enough to justify the PITA factor.

You don't understand why African American males are protesting? Like seriously, AYFKM???!? The police are literally erasing black bodies for profit and everyone pretends this is normal? This is NOT normal.

Capitalism forces young African American men to become Bloodsport gladiators or drug dealers or hip hop artists, denying their intelectual potential as scientists and senators and computer programmers, but you freak out when they take a knee in protest?

Have you even read Ta-Nehisi Coates? He proves that the "whiteness" you cling to isn't even real:

"But race is the child of racism, not the father. And the process of naming “the people” has never been a matter of genealogy and physiognomy so much as one of hierarchy. Difference in hue and hair is old. But the belief in the preeminence of hue and hair, the notion that these factors can correctly organize a society and that they signify deeper attributes, which are indelible—this is the new idea at the heart of these new people who have been brought up hopelessly, tragically, deceitfully, to believe that they are white."

ALL "institutions" of the legacy United States (the concept of "America" as a whole) are in their death throes from colleges to professional sports. Most institutions will morph into something new and different for new and different demographics--for example the shift in grown men watching MMA/BJJ and soccer-futbol (vs. boxing and Football) or academically into trade schools (again), or entrepreneurship (still) will be full of other non-white, yet non-black participants as well.

My theory is that as far as a holding pattern this will be good. Other races hate blacks too and have no interest in giving in to their demands. Only whites are uniquely held hostage by blackThink/blackLogic. Meanwhile, as whites are increasingly lowered in numbers and importance, this will HELP young white men design their own unique path-NOT borne of legacy per se. Even if that legacy--say, "Yale" or "Medical School" or "Football like apple pie" was once created by white men, and fostered by white men.

In other words, whites need to STOP being a majority, at least as perceived, and STOP being in charge of things, as perceived, and just become another group with self-interests. This NFL thing is big only because it was once a legacy sport to this nation (just as baseball before it), and represented the personal aspects of American culture--hard hitting, teamwork, short bursts of individual achievement, come-from-behinds, pretty cheerleaders, mean coaches (bosses!). The white man's fetish with black men running a ball around is simply a cultural artifact of an earlier fetish with the American attributes of football--all of which have died in our current Year.

Football will go the way of boxing and baseball, and new things like Rugby, no pads, Aussie rules, soccer, Bjj, MMA and other things will replace it.

Scott Adams made a couple of interesting points today in his Periscope. First Trump tweeted players don't hit as hard as they used too. Then he put himself in the middle of the controversy of players kneeling during the national anthem. By doing so it appears those protesting Trump suffer from brain damage (thanks to concussions) and they are kneeling before him (ala King of Thrones).

Trump is basically the master of turning any situation into his favor. For Trump it seems policy is taking a back seat to the cultural war. He's pissing off the left because he's using their playbook against them and he's pissing of the cucks because now they have to stand up and pick a side.

A lot of people won't see this as a man expressing his opinion - they'll see it as the government attacking free speech. And they won't like that one bit.

That's certainly how the media will try to frame it, but it won't work. If the president can't simply agree with normal Americans without them seeing him as a Nazi, there's no hope that he can accomplish anything, so there's nothing to lose. He also couldn't have gotten elected if that were the case. Check the polls that are/will be coming out, showing how many people agree with him.

The NFL would shut it down.

As they shut down the Cowboys when they wanted to honor the five BLM-slain policemen last year. So the "We can't squelch our players' free speech" excuse is a lie. Only certain kinds of speech are allowed, therefore approved.

I didn't care whether they stood during the anthem. If you think you have some kind of beef with America so you're not into it that day, that's between you and your employer if you're on the clock. I didn't care. I do care when the Left tries to shame my patriotic family and neighbors for caring about things like the flag and the anthem. This is "Bitter Americans clinging to their guns and religion" all over again.

Not to mention the gaslighting in their narrative of, "Gosh, they were just playing their game and uniting the country until the president poked his nose in where it didn't belong." That's another lie. Plenty of Americans were pissed about this long before he said anything.

Blogger rcocean September 24, 2017 6:32 PM

First, a lot of old guys and disabled guys can't "Play sports on the weekend". Second, a lot of blue collar guys spend the week busting their ass on the job and just want to relax on the weekend & watch TV, and not run a marathon.

This here fenomena of black protest is not about being 'anti Trump'(may his name forever be sprinkled by the spring flowers of thee of cherry).

Emperor Trump(may his goyish offspring multiply eternally) represents and in his wisdom, when umhampered, expresses, the unconscious wishes and desires of us all goyische unterlings of the gulag we reside in.

They do not dislike The Emperor(be his life sung out loud in glory for the gilded ages to come), they dislike me and You and the threat, that we represent to (((them))).

They can not allow us to worship Him unconditionally.

Which I will do if He keeps on throwing these wrenches into the machina.

Does not matter, if He does it on instinct or desire, it is divine. It is written I declare.

The machina keeps dragging on Him(PBHN), yet He keeps finding new and newer cracks on the wall of lies to further THE agenda of the 14 words.

As a black man who grew up in Oakland, he's surely been taught the PC narrative all his life and firmly believes it as much as the average white Midwesterner believes we had to bomb Japan to win WWII.

That's why I didn't care much about the protests. That's not to say they're blameless, because if you're going to protest something, you should make sure you know what you're talking about. But I have a lot more contempt for the leftists who are provoking these guys further because they think it'll be a useful club to use against Trump. The only reason the NFL agreed to surrender its special tax status was the amazing side game of getting municipalities to pay for new stadiums. What a windfall that is! San Diego and St. Louis lost their teams due to failure to commit sufficient monies and land.

I live in the Washington Redskins market. They want a new stadium built for them, and they want it paid for, and they want a most. Yes, a most! It is unbelievable the level of entitlement and aristocracy that these NFL teams feel.

They are very much like the globalists. The argument is that they are so big, such an economic engine, that you might as well lie back and think of England or miss the ride of your life.

When He is with his people, His heart flows, he unites, he is the Father.

He is the Truth. He is Everyone.

When he is divided from us, he is alone, cold and hungry.

He needs to travel, preach, congregate, teach and learn, be united with His peoples, away from the devils, that would crucify Him, as they did with many before Him.

That's one of the interesting things about this whole fiasco. A good chunk of the alt-right is highly suspicious of the Po-Po and call them the Badge Gang. If the idiot protesters weren't anti-American first and foremost, and just looking for an excuse, they'd realize this sort of move is counterproductive.

But it's also instructive. Two of the purposes of rituals like standing for the National Anthem is to a) reinforce cultural bonds, b) sucker traitors into exposing themselves by not participating.

This particular ritual wasn't fulfilling its purpose much anymore, so the G-E decided to give it some more juice.

War.

You may deny it, for all I care, but there will come a time, when you will remember this post.

We are human. We are part of the universe. War is like gravity.
War is thermodynamics. War is bitter, sweet, death and life.

If we are here to stay, war will be with us, as long, as there is life.

And I am not talking humans, as species...I am talking life.

Now, that we got that clear...

We are at war at multiple levels.

Seems to me, that ALL of us understand this, even if on guttural level.

Let us be honest guys, we live in virtual and actual war-zones, wherein our side is denied access to weaponry and ammunition, and when occasionally victorious, we are accused of war crimes(racism, white supremacism, antisemitism, mysogony, younameit)

What separates us from our brethren, seems to be the understanding of the magnitude of the hostilities and the nature enemy.

Let us unite.

It is later, than You think it is.
It prolly is later, than I think, in my darkest days, than it is.

This shit is no joke.

ISIS - the Immature State of Ignorance and Stupidity.

It's America's internal ISIS that's the bigger threat with the NFL being just one example. An enterprise built on the low IQ and immature that's rapidly degraded in player behavior in my lifetime.

Most of us have many grievances with America; however, we understand the flag stands for the entirety of our country which is still the greatest nation ever.
America has the highest GDP Per capita of any country with over 10 million population, an average house size double that of Europe, and many other great advantages.

No thanks to the racial group that dominates the NFL and their sycophants.

What does NASCAR have to do with blacks?

I do not want to seem rude, but I do not see your point.

NASCAR is white and south(lock stock and barrel), thus is behind the "idea" of the "promise" of the Trump Presidency.

Anyone with stats as to the moneys behind the teams and management?

I'd b genuinely curious.

Comes to mind: F1

There is one black fella in there, Hamilton.

Now, I am not a fan, do not follow, do not care, but he be in there for years, and even if he is getting the best wheels in the stable, it takes more then that, he is consistent.

You can not do that for years on.

I say he is a top notch fella even with the back wind, but that is a fleeting impression.
As I said, I do not follow.

I suspect, F1 is not gonna take a knee...:)

ya falla?

The Raiders used up a lot of brainpower and energy trying to decide whether they would sit or kneel.

That can take a lot out of a CTE victim.

Black Lives Matters, bigots! Educate before-you-hate. 8-)

This may be the reappearance of that Tiny Dick..... I mean Tiny Duck. He usually promotes some negro author for you to read and become educamated.

It almost certainly is though the diction is slightly different.

That said it would be nice if he actually recommended good authors for a change.

I've actually read Coates's work and "Very Smart Brothas" among others . They are highly overrated in the field of political science . Pure midwits. to the degree I sometimes wonder if Coates isn't a token for the Left to use for the feelz . He is not stupid by any means just so Lefty Establishment it makes ones teeth ache.

Any of the MGTOW guys or Red Pill Black (who is an attractive and smart Black women!) or a hundred other people, Ice T for that matter or NWA could do better

I'd personally rather by something by Mike Pondsmith (author of Cyberpunk 2020) who has a good reality based notion of how collapse works and how mega cities might function or L.J. Porter who urban, liberal and black is an interesting and creative person

Both are role playing game authors for the non geeks here and they have far more to say than Coates and his ilk.

Of course it had to be Detroit! That city as a huge downtown monument to black power, a huge black fisted arm looking like it's going to hit someone. It's the most offensive public monument in North America, by far. Sitting there in the midst of all the absolute ruin that such thinking created.

And they want to be rid of Robert E. Lee statues situated among plenty instead!

NASCAR fans, teams and owners are far more Right than the nation as a whole, yes.

http://www.daytonapost.com/2010/04/grandson-of-nascar-bill-france-gets-off.html

i'm not sure Brain France is sober enough to understand what's going on half the time. but NASCAR is a big corp, and big corps have HR departments and hire MBAs. and all the MBAs and HR bimbos come out of the same SJW factory that has infected the rest of corporate America.

there are a few Blacks, typically they are washed up college athletes jumping over the wall and slinging tires or something. very rarely do you get someone so gobsmackingly stupid as Teresa Earnhardt that they'll Virtue Signal themselves into hiring a Dindu ( after Dale Sr died ) to run day-to-day operations.

Hey, I like the french. They are civilized, cultured, deeply rooted in their lands, but I am not one of them.

Think of me as someone, who should've been born in California in 1947-ish...

...instead being born just a half a globe away, a distant grandson of Jack London, Thoreau, Hemingway, a closer one to Tolstoy and an other dozen others, who you wouldn't have heard of for not having the language, which is for par, a hopeless romantic, turned realist, who is finding this age of ours to be THE romance, that will be sung about for the gilded ages to come, after our time here is over.

But for that we have to do our duty.

Bunch of spoiled millionaires.

Here's a bit from the late Jerry Pournelle's West of Honor that covers how I feel right now as a Marine Corps veteran:

The Fleet is our country, we sleep with a rifle,
No man ever begot a son on his rifle,
They pay us in gin and curse when we sin,
There's not one that can stand us unless we're downwind,
We're shot when we lose and turned out when we win,
But we bury our comrades wherever they fall,
And there's none that can face us, though we've nothing at all.
