Build your own platforms

Then keep the SJWs out of them. Stop trying to play nice. Stop trying to hide what you think. Stop trying to work within their system. If you're creative and you're talented, then stand up to them and fight them openly. Build your own platform, foxnews them, take half their collective audience away from them, and hit them where they aren't expecting it. This chronicle of the ideological corruption of Hollywood explains why moderation and accommodation will never work.
“The blacklist of people on the left grew out of a defacto blacklist of people on the right within the industry,” recalls Orson. “There was communist directors, members of The Party, who only would cast you if you were also a member of The Party, or they were trying to woo you as a member of The Party. A lot of rightwing actors…were really furious at them. So when the Cold War happened…these rightwing actors, who had been seething for years about the way the communists were infiltrating the Hollywood business and were infiltrating the unions too, took their revenge. I don’t think that story’s ever been written because it’s not attractive for the Left.”

Orson isn’t alone in remembering this lost history.

“Morrie Ryskind, who was a Pulitzer Prize winner, couldn’t get a job because he didn’t think exactly like these fellows,” recalled John Wayne.

After testifying before the House Un-American Activities Committee as a “friendly witness”, the extraordinarily talented Morrie never received another offer from a studio again – and neither did other screenwriters that testified against communism in Hollywood. When the “official” blacklist era ended, liberals continued where they left off – freezing out conservatives…to far better effect.

“I think there’s a reverse blacklist, even today,” said director and Hollywood Ten member Edward Dmytryk in Hollywood on Trial, a 1976 documentary about the blacklist. “I think that the liberals who are riding high, are going in the opposite direction. I think some of the fellas back then, who were on the reactionary side, are having a tough time getting jobs now.”

This greylist has been fully institutionalized. “The Writers Guild of America, my union, is at a minimum 99 percent leftist liberal and, like me, socialist,” said screenwriter and MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell in 2003. In the wake of the blacklist era, the left gained complete control of La La Land using a tactic they now vilify on the big screen. In a sense, it’s a weird tribute to Morrie Ryskind, John Wayne, Cecile B. DeMille and the others concerned about how the far-left storytellers could use movies to rewrite history.

“Being not a communist is grounds for dismissal now,” says Gavin McInnes about being a right-winger in showbiz. The co-founder of Vice Magazine, Gavin is unquestionably one of the funniest people on the planet. From the founding of Vice in 1994 until he left in 2008, its comedic voice was his voice – and it was one that comedians wished to emulate. “Their brand of humor is what I would do if there were no ‘standards and practices’ on TV,” said Jimmy Kimmel about Vice during Gavin’s helm.

After leaving the magazine due to creative differences with his partners – he came up against Hollywood’s liberal enforcers. “Jimmy Miller is Dennis Miller’s brother. He’s one of the biggest managers in comedy. He managed Will Ferrell, Jim Carey. He took a real shining to me after I left Vice,” says Gavin. “Things were going great. And then he found out I was right wing. He didn’t ‘X’ me per se, but it’s exactly like being known as a pedophile…no one likes a pedophile.” (Jimmy Miller did not respond to a request for comment.) Since the election of Trump, even with his star on the rise among the right and a new show on CRTV, his entertainment peers have become even more intolerant. “I’ve lost 100% of my friends that are in comedy. I’ve lost 100% of my celebrity friends.”

This ploy keeping Hollywood a liberal bastion is subtle, but extraordinarily effective – smoke out right-wingers and their sympathizers, spread the word of their apostasy, freeze them out, repeat. This process is seen in every crevice of Tinseltown, and it quietly teaches a lesson to all watching.
Chris Roberts didn't need the game companies to finance Star Citizen. Neither do we. PewDiePie doesn't need YouTube or Disney. Pretty soon, we won't need Hollywood to make our movies either. There is no place for us in their sandbox. Fine. Who wants to play in that disease-infested filth anyhow? Let us build our own instead.

After two generations of being pummeled by La La Land, the newly constituted right is punching back with a force that has Tinseltown scrambling.

Damn right we are.
But where the old right was content with closing their wallets to Hollywood, the new right thinks stopping there is the stuff of cucks. This politically incorrect movement has galvanized in a way that was unheard of just a few years ago. Instead of the Kum Ba Yah rallies of yesterday’s Tea Party, this new right prefers a more active approach. They bombard film reviews with negative grades, inundate show sponsors with calls to drop their advertising, and hit the most hate-filled celebrities with a flurry of boycott campaigns usually only seen coming from the left.

No longer afraid to be called racists, sexists, homophobes, Islamophobes, or xenophobes – because they know they’ll be branded these no matter what – the new right is going directly after their perceived enemy, rejecting traditional content, creating their own entertainment, and organizing on a scale that should make Hollywood take pause in their daily putdowns. Social norms are no longer barriers, and some are even willing to flout the law…all to even the playing field.

The left cares nothing for the law except when it suits their purposes. You play by the rules your opponent sets.

The next Democratic President (assuming the party survives that long) is going to bitterly regret the way Trump has been treated.

I used to think that our side cannot go up against the vast resources oh Hollywood. Now I think that was unwarranted pessimism. Here are some ideas:
1. It's never been a better time to create documentaries. Funding and distribution of documentaries can be done via the internet.
2. Non-Hollywood studios--from places ranging from the UK to Hong Kong to Japan--have made a fine contribution to film, and are profitable too. I see no reason why they can't continue to do so.
3. Actors and directors have created movies themselves without the backing of Hollywood. Right-of-center indicials in Hollywood can do the same.

Really, pessimism on our side is never warranted.

Blogger Ariadne Umbrella October 29, 2017 3:17 PM

Robert Rodriguez and Elizabeth Arrellano built a studio in Austin, Texas.
There's a black, Christian focused film studio in Georgia, near Atlanta.
There's a studio in ?Coppell? a suburb of Dallas.
Univision has studios on the Mexican side of the border, for cheap. Dangerous conditions, but cheap.

Nigeria has a continent-wide film system.

Bollywood has films.

South Korea has facilities.

The dollar/ peso/yen/ whatever currency, makes any of these studios viable.

@16 Longtime Lurker

No one quite yet. There's been some solid work done on smaller budget, Christian works, but too many of those are hard Churchian. Though there's been a few solid ones that did Bible stories. (John Rhys-Davies as Mordecai was pretty good in "One Night With The King".)

But that shows the problems: their audience is generally Religious Women, so heavily blue-pilled. It's a market that's under-served, but most of the stuff is really hard to watch. They're slight upgrades from Lifetime movies, but not a lot.

The real play for an Alt-Movie approach that isn't "independent films", with all of that stupidity, comes down to two structural aspects that would be necessary for it to work: 1) Completely different Business Structure and 2) large, paid writing staff.

A very different business & finance structure puts everyone's interests in making a profitable film, rather than screwing each other over. A paid writing staff means you can focus on developing proper scripts before filming. (Much of the problem with the current development process stems from constant re-writes to suit the level of Approval that's needed. Pretty much going back to Hitchcock's method.) This is similar to how certain genre film producers work, but the better business structure lets you bring in good talent because it's to their economic advantage.

Also, Westerns. You can make a wonderfully profitable company making 1 Western a year on a small budget because you can film "on location" in half of the Midwest and not have much of an issue.

Blogger tublecane October 29, 2017 4:24 PM

I watched part of one episode of the Amazon tv adaptation of Scott Fitzgerald's Love of the Last Tycoon, which acted as if Hollywood was under the thumb of the German market in 193-whenever. (Because depression?) Meaning Nazis could dictate content. Not to worry, because an underground resistance of Jewish boy-wonder producers (who frankly come off like homos though they technically aren't), Strong Independent Women, drunken Irishmen, and assorted others are firming a Resistance. They're definitely not commies, just proud, independent Americans with all the correct Current Year opinions.

I'm thinking the people behind this nonsense were brainwashed by previous material on the blacklist. If anti-communists had the run of Hollywood in the 50s--though somehow managing to employ commies like Dalton Trumbo accidentally--it stands to reason leftists were unfairly persecuted in the 30s, too. Though of course the story is they're always underdogs and persecuted minorities, no matter what. No doubt Hollywood brights currently considers themselves oppressed by Trump and various other dark forces. Maybe even China, if it's not considered communist anymore.

By the way, Kelsey Grammer I think plays a version of Louis B. Mayer. He didn't sexually assault anyone that I saw. Fitzgerald himself was employed by Hollywood briefly, but he didn't provide in real dirt in the semi-novel. The Mayer character has a consensual affair with a secretary, or something.

@16-I recently watched the film Copperheads by Ron Maxwell. He's made other Civil War offerings, the famous Gettysburg tv movie and the movie Gods and Generals. Copperheads was a bit Hallmark Channel-y, but engaging and uniquely sympathetic to anti-war Democrats of the period.

He's not noticeably alt-right, but his movies have plenty of un-PC material. Merely presenting the Southern cause as understandable and human is out of line politically, but he goes a bit beyond that. Well beyond PC in the case of Stonewall Jackson in Gods and Generals, as regards slavery and religion both.

They're probably at least somewhat cuckservative, but they are Christians who create movies that feature Christian themes and DON'T operate out of Hollywood. I haven't actually watched any of their movies myself, but I have mom friends who are into their stuff.

If you have any film making skills then entering local/regional short film festivals might be a way to practice your skills and recruit dissafected talent. Heck, look for homeschool co-ops or classical schools who are into visual arts and/or theater. I'm sure there's talent out there if you do a little digging. It's not my wheelhouse though, so this is just based on what I'm seeing in the our local community.

Again, look at the screens of VD's comics. Please. There is nothing about that art that is unique, innovative or smart. One of the best examples of the Left trying to appropriate Western culture is their relentless insistence that Leonardo Da Vinci was gay, on the basis of a single court case (which was dismissed as a nuisance complaint).

in any biography or account written before the 1980's, this case either merits no mention, or is perhaps a footnote, but has become front and centre since the early 1990's at least.

I do have to give them credit for having the brass to try and appropriate the greatest Western artist of all time, but it also demonstrates just how shallow their well actually is when they need to brazenly poach from us like that.

I optioned it a while back but we have been waiting for AltHero to be launched and completed before moving ahead with this. Probably will do freestartr as well and then accept ongoing contributions on our website.

Im a small indie fimmaker but if we get good funding i can enlist lots of help from very seasoned professional. There is pretty decent sized Christian filmaking community in my area that brings an arsenal of sci-fi and fantasy film experience. If we got bigger with support we could begin to make a big push to offer an alternative to Hollywood just as althero will do.

My cousin Charles Bonniwell, Jr. was the assistant director for the original Twilight Zone TV series so this stuff runs in my blood, especially photography and production design.

"If that were true, Marvel and Hollywood wouldn't be mining and raping the works of the Right for material over and over and over again."

Yep, it's what we on the AltRight should be doing after all its our work.

@55 I'm willing to help support this movie but only if and when Castalia House publishes Rolf's sequel which we've been told will happen this year.

@Michael Neal. I was wondering if that film project was still on. Good to see it's still moving forward.

People trying to build the platform without the filth - a Christian film festival and filmmaker's academy that trains and provides networking opportunities.

Replace Hollywood!

@59 Scott, Train to Busan was a great movie. Nice change for pace for the Zombie genre.

@55

Michael. I am an artist with some spare time. I would gladly make some concept art for free. I sent you a message on facebook.

Scott wrote:To avoid Hollywood, I have been going to a local Korean Owned Theaer. They show Disneynand Marvel movies with Korean Subtitles, but more importantly,'they shown twice as many Korean movies with good English subtitles. "The Admiral: Raging Currwnts", and "Train to Busan" were two recent stand outs/

Train to Busan beats the pants off The last 3 seasons of The Walking Dead.
Foreign movies can actually be quite good. And usually aren't cramming Leftish narrative down your throat the entire movie.

Can't believe how defensive people still get over the whole "leftists are creative, rightists are boring and uncreative".

The only thing leftists have going for them are that they are much further away from sanity, can easily lie and deceive, have pretty much no shame, are amoral, and are nearly impossible to disgust with immoral behavior. They've also redefined what is "creative" and "art" to fit their view, and are constantly pushing the window away from true beauty.

Never, never be defensive about non-leftist art quality. Our music, such as classical, is far far far superior to their leftist crap that they've been pushing since the Beatles.

I'll see your "Smells like Teen Spirit" and raise you Beethoven's 9th Symphony.

I would certainly appreciate a John C. Wright work kicking leftards in the posterior.

The Right's well of creative talent that could be used in the entertainment industry is terrible. No one wants to be entertained by the same same old shit that is as derivative as could be.

We're the ones creating new superheroes. The Left is the one that can't even create their own, but has to call them Thor and Spider-Man.

There are also plenty of non-leftist rockers and cultural icons; Johnny Ramone, Eric Clapton, David Bowie, Billy Corgan, Ted Nugent, Stanley Kubrick, Clint Eastwood, James Woods, Jack Kerouac, Ezra Pound, Robinson Jeffers, to name a few. As for Kurt Cobain, I think we would have come around by now if he hadn't been murdered by his wife (see Kurt and Courtney).

Nothing says leftist art like a crucifix sitting in urine.

That's the very epitome of "creativity" and "originality". Along with the bust of the Virgin Mary made from dried shit by a dindu artiste featured in the Tate Gallery. Of course if you read up on where both Christ and his mother are allegedly swimming for eternity in the Jews' Babylonian holy book (a vat a piss and shit), the motives behind promotion of such "creativity" and "originality" especially by (((certain elites))) and their shag-us-goys becomes a bit more obvious.
