NFL Week 8

Although they started slow, it was an easy win for the Vikes in London. 6-2 going into the bye week. And, as usual, the Vikings all stood for the anthem.

What's interesting is that professional athletes are now using Social Justice to attack their opponents. This is happening to two of Houston's sports teams. The Seahawks players, who the Texans play today, have been stoking the flames of McNair's comments to get into the psyche of Texans players.

For baseball, a Houston player made asian eyes after hitting a home run off the Dodgers Japanese pitcher in the world series. MLB admitted they took the opposing pitchers reaction after the game into account on how to punish the Astros player. He narrowly avoided getting a 1 game suspension in the world series. They ended up suspending him next year for 5 games.

Potentially, an MLB player could have been banned for the World Series because of the other team abusing Social Justice standards. Even still, the player is forced to apologize and refocus on the games with all the distraction. Pretty interesting to see SJWism weaponized in sports like this.

This is gonna sound a little racist but it isnt.....i recall many years ago listening to a sports radio station and what sounded to me like a black guy called in and he stated very boldly that he believed that the baseball statistics pre 1947 (African ackie Robinson started playing in 1947) were not as legit because the competition was not as good bc Africans were banned from mlb. I think he may have had a point. Along similar lines i think a major part of the dominance of Brady and Manning is that they often face 10 or 11 African defenders. I believe that white linebackers amd defemders though not as fast and maybe not as strong on average are better able to READ the white quarterback. I recall Manning often struggling when Teddie Brooskie was on defense.... I believe that Montana was still better than Brady bc there were more Caucasians on defense when he played.

> For baseball...

NFL: No one can p.o. our fans as well as we can.
MLB: Hold my beer.

"The Seahawks players, who the Texans play today, have been stoking the flames of McNair's comments to get into the psyche of Texans players."

And, longer term, to hit the Texan team's budget. Because as the players react in the predictable way, by insulting the whole country, they reinforce our decision not to watch that game. Or to buy their merch.

And the other thing... which NFL owner leaked the Bob McNair comments.

It will be interesting to see how many white athletes vs negro athletes, are drafted going forward. Time to add a little bleach to the league.

Was Goodell there? If so, it probably wasn't an owner.

he believed that the baseball statistics pre 1947 (African ackie Robinson started playing in 1947) were not as legit because the competition was not as good bc Africans were banned from mlb.
Maybe not, there was never an explicit ban (it was an implied one, but it was never a specific rule). Granted there were a few legit Negro League stars but I doubt enough to make a significant difference - for example Jackie Robinson was ''famous for being famous'' not notably better than several other players of that era. And the pre-1920 stats are not considered 'invalid' vs. the post-1920 ones the 'dead ball' era vs. the 'rabbit ball' one that banned spitballs, scuffing, and required umpired to frequently change out the ball in play - also if a ball goes into the stands it can't be put back in play. And look at the 'roids vs. post-'roids era for a more recent example (not to mention the all drug use era, 'roids ain't the only PED you know).
Now back to the correct sport: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000866435/article/nfl-power-rankings-week-8-philadelphia-eagles-hit-no-1-spot
The only rank here that surprised me is the Rams at #2 (yes, really!) with a 5-2 record. Does anybody care? Probably not, LA has always been indifferent to the NFL, the Coliseum is still a bad venue for football, plus Angelinos have much more interesting things to pay attention to right now.
The Vikes are at #7 overall, and have the best defense again - but can they keep it? That (and a healthier Aaron Rodgers) is what screwed them last year.
Now I'm going to suggest something strange, I think the Niners should re-sign Krapernig through the rest of the season. Why? Because they're making a serious challenge to the Clowns (both are shooting for that perfect season) for the #1 draft pick. I say let the captain go down with the ship - especially if he's sitting on the bench yet again ;)

Idea: Take a page out of Nero's book and send players who kneel to the Lions.

I live up in the Green Bay area and with our hot shot quarterback Aaron Rodgers likely gone for the season not watching is an easy boycott. On the other side of it I find the ongoing political infighting in the league a matter of interest. I was hoping for some more fussing but the best so far is the Oakland A's catcher Bruce Maxwell getting arrested for aggravated assault. Seems he was the only MLB player to take a knee in September. These people are an embarrassment to themselves. No need for outside help.

Jets fall to 3-5 but its a competitive and exciting 3-5. They could easily be 6-2 with a few different bounces here and there. When u play the Jets you know u r in for quite a battle. Better eat your wheaties. I wouldnt be surprised if they come on with a strong second half and find themselves in the playoffs.

Two things:

Oakland Athletics catcher Bruce Maxwell, who became the only Major League Baseball player to take a knee during the national anthem this season, has been arrested after he allegedly pointed a gun at a woman in Arizona.

AND

Cowboys cut ex-Giant Damontre Moore, one of two Dallas players who continued to raise his fist at end of national anthem. The Cowboys released Moore in order to make room to sign kicker Mike Nugent, the team announced Wednesday.

Texan's quarterback obviously given green light by coach to pass. Still 1st half.

Is one any better than the other these days? Also, possibly blackout rules: https://www.si.com/nfl/audibles/2013/09/15/jacksonville-jaguars-broadcast-apology
At least they don't have to apologize for being the Jaguars this year ;)

IF I watch another NFL game again it will only be the condensed version.

A full game in 9:00 minutes with no SJW propaganda.

ITs a big if though. Maybe the SJW's can worry about the lack of 'diversity' in the league players.

Hey . ya know who i think is gonna be good ...Derrick Deshaun Watson.

Blogger JaimeInTexas October 29, 2017 7:29 PM

Texans defense needs to learn how to end games against top notch quarterback but refs gotta throw flags when an OK piggy backs on a defense rushing. That is how Wilson got to throw the winning pass.

OL not OK.

The best solution for the NFL is to ban tattoos. This eliminates those with the psychological frailty of "look at ME" as well as 99+% of the kneelers. Down 40 points some jerk makes a tackle and acts like he is God's gift to the world of sports.

So which teams played (American style) football today?

I agree with you, but it won't happen.
I can see why once he became useless as a QB he had to be fired.
The more tats I see the less I like them.

Looks like the Steelers are 'playing down' to their opponents again. If they win, it works....

Anonymous NFL watcher today October 29, 2017 8:58 PM

@8:23. Well the Seahawks Texans game was thrilling. Two top notch quarterbacks going back and forth in a high scoring 41-38 barn-burner. I thought the Texans led by rookie QB Deshaun Watson were gonna win it when they went up 38-34 with just 1:49 left. But 2013-14 Super Bowl Champion Russell Wilson who had 22 4th quarter or OT game winning drives coming into the game once again led his team to victory before a jubiliant Seattle crowd. Those Seattle fans are really passionate about their Seahawks.

Looks like Jerry Jones is trying to persuade owners to join his effort to oust Roger Goodell.

Done with the Texans, being pissed off at your boss is not a good reason to disrespect your country and piss on your paying customers. J.J. Watt should retire or demand a trade to the Cowboys.

Anonymous JAG October 30, 2017 12:08 AM

If Jerry Jones manages to get rid of Goodell I might not hate him anymore.

Blogger JaimeInTexas October 30, 2017 7:57 AM

@28 I missed the first 2 mins of the game. I read a headline somewhere that many Texans took the knee. Will they take the knee at home?

Blogger Theproductofafineeduction October 30, 2017 1:50 PM

@25
Those Seattle fans are really passionate about their Seahawks.

For now, the moment the Seahawks become firmly mediocre all the fans will disappear. Happened to the Ms who used to be fill the stadium from '95-'03 or so.
