Voxiversity update
First, I would like to thank all 213 Voxiversity backers. While most of the attention has been focused on Alt★Hero the last few days, you can rest assured that neither the producer nor I have forgotten about the project. If you are one of the 108 backers who provided an email, you will have already received the promised copy of SJWAL plus a bonus ebook this morning.
I suspect there has been some reluctance to provide Freestartr with a "public email", so I will talk to them today about how we can handle it so that the creators are provided access to the emails but the public is not. I will send out the rest of the SJWAL copies as well as the promised Collected Columns after talking to Freestartr today, assuming I'm able to get access to the 105 missing emails.
Second, the initial microphone test has proved successful and I will test it in proper recording mode tonight. I have the necessary light, now I am waiting on the light stand to begin filming. I have already begun work on the first lecture, IMMIGRATION AND WAR, and we expect to release the first video before the end of the month. We will, of course, pick up the pace of video releases as we proceed.

Here's the response I got from them about public email addresses.
"You can select the option to make your user profile private. You can also select the option to make your contributions anonymous. The creators you back will still have access to your information so that they can contact you, it just won't be publicly visible."
I have not filled out the public email field but still managed to get the email with the two books today.
As a side issue Brave will not let me comment here. I have to switch to Chrome.
Need a way that recurring contributors can access an account or some such in order to provide new credit card info for monthly contributions. Otherwise it will hit the fan when I change cards.
Email received and books downloaded. Really looking forward to this!
Wow nice video production. That's what I'm talking about.
They've already got a private email option. I used it for Alt Hero.
To setup a Freestartr account an email address is required (providing a public email is optional)
I assumed the required email address is the one that would be utilized by the creator of the Freestartr.
Are you saying as the creator of the Freestartr you only have access to the public emails?

At the moment. We'll sort it out. Remember, we're the guinea pigs. They probably just need to adjust their reports.
Couple of other things I noted:
Creator's public profile shows location, OPSEC? or maybe you already accounted for that?
Clicking on the "M" (email) symbol in your profile opens another tab in Brave that attempts to reach "mailto:voxday@infogalactic.com" and hangs. Would rather they just show email.
Same for Twitter: clicking on it opens tab that attempts to reach "http://voxday/" and give a server DNS error
Youtube link does jump to your channel on youtube

Uh, not all of us? (Or does that mean I'm one of the 105 missing?) I just now made my profile private (apparently hadn't done that) but my email is there.
Ignore the rest below if that's where my email is -- I'm just providing the following info for the guys doing the coding/checking. The email address IS correct, I checked that too.)
Backed campaigns, payment method, payment history (both recurring (13 Sep) for Voxiversity and one-time (29 Sep) for Alt*Hero), shipping address, all show fine.
My name is toward the end of the alphabet if the email went out that way? VoxDay@gmail.com is 'white-listed' at my ISP.
Wish I didn't have to distract you from the stuff that REALLY needs doing (eight days! just eight days till SJWADD!!!), but not sure if they might need such info...
Vox, just a heads-up, but your new microphone has not been working on the past couple darkstreams.
Compare the 'NFL vs USA' to the 'Alt Hero is launched!' stream and you'll see what I mean.
"
"new microphone has not been working"
I was wondering about that myself yesterday but thought it must be something on my end.

New microphone is working fine. Sound quality is better. The problem is the gain/volume is too low and Vox should trim down the 0-100 Hz range on the input a touch. I was also trained to put clip-on lapels center body for best sound, but probably won't make a huge difference.
I'm not sure what Vox is looking at for his volume settings. If it's a standard DB peek meter, then the new microphone not being garbage on the low end is probably what's throwing it off. Most cheaper speaking mics artificially enhance frequencies around 2K Hz and trim out sub 200 Hz for clarity. What compounds it is that Vox's speaking voice creates a reverberance in the lower ends for whatever reasons it does (natural attributes, speaking style, room acoustics...)
Good choice going with Sennheiser, by the by.
Alt-hero backer here.
Yes, that has indeed been the case why I was reluctant to provide a public email. OPSEC and all. However, making one's profile private and providing a public email in the interim is all right, I guess, which I have just done.
Freestartr needs to make it more obvious, I think.
Thank you for everything. Really appreciate it. 8^)
