More harassment at NPR

The head of National Public Radio tried to bury the harassment charges against his top editor.
The left-wing Washington Post reports that NPR “leaders were aware of at least four complaints against” Michael Oreskes, NPR’s top editor, prior to his resignation last week after two allegations went public. With charges of a cover-up floating about, NPR chief Jarl Mohn has taken a four-week leave for what he says are medical reasons.
The brewing NPR scandal comes down to the left-wing news outlet’s decision to keep Oreskes on, even though top management knew of four harassment allegations against him, according to the Post.

To make matters worse, the Post reports that in just the last ten days, five more NPR staffers claim to have been harassed by Oreskes.

Going forward, the problems for Mohn and the taxpayer-subsidized NPR are quite obvious. By not acting appropriately and/or effectively enough to end Oreskes’s alleged behavior — meaning serious disciplinary action or termination — the alleged victims piled up. The possible liability issues ramifications here are the stuff of trial lawyers’ dreams…and taxpayer nightmares, for we subsidize this apparent den of executive harassers and enablers.

The details of the seven(!) NPR allegations are not yet known. We do, however, know something about Oreskes’s alleged M.O. via reporting last week from the Post. This includes unwanted kisses, proposals for a “room service lunch, a creepy personal ad, and using the promise of employment to keep the women on the hook.

For the overall national, establishment media, this is also bad news. In just a month, no fewer than eight members of the elite media have been hit with allegations that range from harassment to misconduct to assault. In many of those cases, we have been told that “everyone knew,” but no one did anything.

On top of NPR and the New York Times, other news outlets embroiled in this growing scandal include NBC News, MSNBC, ABC News, Rolling Stone, the New Republic, and Mother Jones. The prominent names include Matt Taibbi, Mark Halperin, David Corn, and Leon Wieseltier.

While this very same establishment media excoriate Fox News over that network’s alleged harassment problems, they were all covering up much, much worse behavior allegedly committed by their very own over the course of decades.
I believe a brilliant, bestselling political philosopher has written, bestsellingly, about the tendency of a certain class of individuals to cast aspersions on others that would, by rights, more accurately describe their own behavior.

National Pussygrabber Radio. So sad. Outrageous use of tax dollars. The GE must kill them just like he is killing CNN.

NPR ought to put Juan Williams in charge. Sure he's more of the same, but at least NPR knows he understands the benefits of racially profiling potential Islamic terrorists.

Hopefully this is a blessing in disguise. If taxpayers are ultimately on the hook for the punitive damages, let this be the end of NPR’s subsidies. May the God Emperor make this an issue with which to shame the country out of paying for this garbage anymore.

Reading the book, you can really feel the bestsellingness. Although, and this is no real criticism, I don't think it's as brilliant and philosoph-y as its predecessor - honestly, very little is.

The collection of a certain set of traits into the category of "gamma" really does seem to provide an excellent taxonomy of a sub-clinical personality disorder. r/K selection is shakier, although it's a decent metaphor for different approaches to risk.

All that said, I think the Three Laws of SJW (or of any low-shame social hierarchy parasite whose approach to prestige gain is manipulative rather than aspirational) are one of the best rules-of-thumb I've ever encountered, and I repeat them ad-nauseum.

Amusingly, when I started typing Michael Oreskes into Bing, the second or third autofill suggestion was "michael oreskes jewish". I didn't actually find the answer to that question, although it made me curious, and nothing is mentioned on his Infogalactic page about his ethnic or religious background. But he and his sister both have about the worst case of jewface that I've ever seen. If they're NOT jewish, then my jewdar is WAY off.

Isn't the West's Left's coin that of moral superiority? So how are the gimps of National Review and other conservatives going to repair this damage? (Conservatives exist to enshrine the Liberals as the moral superior)

They always project. Taibbi wrote a book called "Insane Clown President" and specifically made sure to mention the bimbos and their absurd allegations against Trump. Rolling Stone is a dumpster fire.

Vox, you've earned the right to neologize an adjective into an adverb.

Conservatives are way above putting pain to a Liberal, to me it has been obvious for decades that the "Projection" when delivered at a higher octave is the opening to their mental/emotional weaknesses.

prediction:

The SJW response will be some variation of No True Scotsmen. See they weren't really liberals.. they were evil right-wingers who only pretended to be liberal to cover up their horrible right-wing actions.

It's hard to imagine Jill Abrahamson without fighting the urge to spit on her. She made her reputation on that book about Clarence Thomas, coke cans and pubic hair. It was one giant lecture on sensitivities of sexual matters in the workplace and so forth.

But Thomas was doubly not of her tribe. Black and conservative. Oreskes, however, was of her tribe. And she not only looked askance at his shameful treatment of women, she as his superior knew about it and enabled it.

If we don't see more than token prosecutions, then it is obvious that law does not apply to deep state or its supporters.

NPR is lucky that there is no way that the GOP will ever vote to defund it no matter how corrupt or antagonistic they are to the American people.

James Comey and others have already made it painfully obvious that Lady Justice is no longer blind, but rather has keen eyesight and sees kinds. It is a sinister tool of anti-liberty and I have nothing but contempt for the black-robe oligarchy of tyrants, who see our representatives' written laws as nothing more than a springboard for their feelz.

Here is Marc Faber demonstrating that he does not understand the SJW culture war because he retreated by saying: my friend, who hates and fought apartheid, lived at my house, and I hated it too (paraphrasing this interview at usawatchdog of Faber: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qs4hdyXbUZU )

I have not yet read VD's books, but I conclude SJWs will take that interview as Faber expressing weakness, and maybe even guilt, as charged, and definitely a victory over him.

Why, for example, cannot an American ship travel to China, Chinese workmen load it with goods and American money go to China while the ship returns to America with the goods.

On what logically consistent basis do you permit the goods and capital to travel while restricting the services and labor?

'Why, for example, cannot an American ship travel to China, Chinese workmen load it with goods and American money go to China while the ship returns to America with the goods.'

It absolutely can. it just has nothing to do with the concept of Free Trade.

The bowtied bovines are going follow the same two tracks that (((fake news))) already has been:

1. Insufficient wymyn in charge;
2. Nobody cares (a la Beelzebubba, (((Lewinsky))) and the stained dress).

They'll do it politely of course and dress it all up in the noble cause of Judeo-Christ, Murika, St. Martin D'Kangz, etc. Conservatives - conserving leftist gains since 1917.

Immediately I am thinking of the merchant, Marco Polo, and the North American Indians sending beaver pelts, via the Hudson Bay Company, to Britain. But I am not sure how to argue either side of the question, with those historical examples, because I do not know the effects of those events.

Here is a clue: INDIAN RESERVATIONS.

True that, re: Indian Reservations, which means the trade resulted in surrender of their territory.

That is important proof, whereas #13 here (trade efficiency demands people movement)

http://voxday.blogspot.com/2017/11/derb-on-16-points.html

did not hit me as much as Indian Reservations.

I have read globalists insist efficiency demands free movement of people. It is not a necessary feature. However, I concede globalists will argue it is a feature of trade, and they are doing it.

I am nudged a little, away from free trade unexpectedly, for a reason that is not my reason.

My reason was concern was that trade deficits, piling up beyond what I thought was possible, needed to be countered by raising world interest rates.

There is no self correction of trade, when the world central banks are interlocked, and sustaining perpetually increasing deficits, with artificially low interest rates. There is a remedy for that, without cutting trade. It won't be done, apparently: Raise interest rates.

Blogger Cloom Glue November 09, 2017 3:29 PM

I must mention to others who might not know: The Hudson Bay Company generated the colonists incomes and attracted movement into Canada; 1670AD https://infogalactic.com/info/Hudson%27s_Bay_Company

The profitability which you give to a people via trade is a factor which defines their growth.

I am at the weird crossroads for me, of leaving my church, and not buying from local ethnic restaurants, because it is apparent I am growing their foreigner profit success to replace me, like me working with the Hudson Bay Company, which might not be my best long term outcome.

I never thought I would come to this conclusion:

The lecture by my local priest, four days ago, to the congregation, regarding the replacement rate of old families with new foreigner families was simply an astounding data point. I think his revenues are down 20% this year due to poor foreigners incoming, and white old families outgoing. He requests more cash from old families who remain.

How soon will NPR interview Louis CK?

Anonymous Clouseau November 09, 2017 9:58 PM

A couple comments:

As far as trade ("free" or otherwise) vs migration, it was long possible for e.g. Europe to buy oil from the Middle East without having mass immigration of people from the Middle East. China trades with everybody but I doubt they're letting in many immigrants. I think there's a difference between having a few merchants visit places to do trade deals and having mass migrations of populations.

As to these sex scandal stories that we're currently flooded with, note that most of the perversions are either super-creepy or super-lame. If these guys weren't rich or powerful they'd just be sleazebags in dirty raincoats.

Also, what's with the Silence of the Tabloids. I shop for groceries every couple days and of the American tabloids, I think I've only seen one cover story on any of these scandals so far, a single headline on one about Weinstein. I'd think they'd be all over these things. One recently still had the Kelly vs O'Reilly thing on the cover.

I'm sorry. Please clarify for me.

Mike Pence is the creepy, sexually twisted, white male oppressor of the matriarchy because he refuses to eat alone with any women if his wife is not with him? And if he's at a party with alcohol he requires his wife to be near him at all times? But hanging out with Hollywood Harvey and his friends is just one more step on the stairway to celluloid Heaven, what could go wrong?

Got it!

Again, New York is the "keep" or the "bastion", and all of the actions involving the motte and the bailey (Hollyweird and Nashville) are simply noise intended to drown out the real unfolding of events ...

More action in DC and New York, please.

Also, in Russian, perhaps NPR would be more suitably rendered as «ипр»: an acronym for "individual rehabilitation programme" ... :-)
