I went to a sports bar/restaurant that offered free veterans day meals for dinner because all the other places offering free vet meals were jam packed.

If you don't like guns and religion, let me know, because I'm making a list.

What about religious guns? Make "Cannon Law" great again!
Seems like the day to drop back and pun.

I am no fan of (Cowboys owner) Jerry Jones, I give him credit for making the Buffalo Bills the AFC version of the Vikings. But at least he understands the NFL needs repair and is trying to do something about it.
Papa John's (pizza chain) is disappointed with the NFL, as well they should be.

The browns are going to break their inperfect season on the only team with an inperfect season in history. Detroit's a joke.

I've had good food in sports bars. I don't like them because they're noisy. If you have to raise your voice at the table just to order or talk to those at your table, something is wrong.

Put me down as opposed to 9mm and Islam.

They're containing the Lions - not like the game matters.
The big surprise is the Giants, from the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2016%E2%80%9317_NFL_playoffs
To a season that is over (1-7) for them.
I don't like anyone who ''plays down'' to an opponent, but that's what the Steelers are doing.

ATM, tied.
It's a perfect season...

There seems to be quite a bit of drama in (minor league) NFL now.

That's what they've been doing all season, so it's no surprise.

Blogger exfarmkid November 12, 2017 2:36 PM

Vikings 28 Skins 17 at the half. Nice.

It's a gamble, Go weak. and win anyway. I don't seeing that getting where they need to go.

Anonymous Iron Spartan November 12, 2017 2:49 PM

Could the Fox announcers be pulling any harder for Washington?

Anonymous patrick kelly November 12, 2017 3:00 PM

And once again instead of the early game it's minor league wrestling on the local CBS station woohoo

17-9 Colts. What did I say about playing down?

The difficulty with playing down is that sometimes you over do it. :)

You sound surprised.

If WVU can manage a win against Texas on Saturday, they'll exceed my expectations for the year, which was 7-5. I don't see any way they can beat Oklahoma.

surprised? more like 'cackling with glee'.

the WNDU stations ( 92.9FM and 16UHF ) taught me to hate Notre Dame a long time ago. Notre Dame has been whining about not getting enough votes/respect from the college polls since i've been aware of them, circa 1980. yet almost every time they get put to the test, they demonstrate SCIENTIFICALLY that they don't deserve the top 10 ranking they've already got.

the only thing better about this would be if this loss had occurred within the encompassing arms of Touchdown Jesus.

thus, Blessed By God.

Go Pack!! I remember a game back in the fifties, a Packer-Bear game. Folks had just purchased two really horrid chartreuse colored arm chairs and sofas. Dad was up close watching the big old Zenith 19" Black and White TV. Some Bear was running like crazy down the sidelines doing a last minute 90+ yard run. Dad was hollering, "run, you son of a bbbb...".......and he pulled the arm right off the new chair. Mom just said, "Edward!". After the game dad mixed up some glue (water and powdered stuff) and fixed the chair...... what a memory of my first football game!!

God bless

Oh.....the Pack just won! Close game as always.

Ah, that's easy to mistake over the net, but completely understandable. I sometimes wonder if the ND faithful have any idea of just how much they're hated.

So the hooker and cocaine fund at University of Miami has been refilled? Well, given UNC's recent tussle with the NCAA, I don't guess they've got much to be worried about as long as they make it available to the complete student body.

Blogger Right Republican November 12, 2017 5:12 PM

STILL not watching the NFL (after decades of doing so) because of the kneeling, arm-locking, and hand-holding BS regarding their political protests during the National Anthem. Especially not on THIS weekend.

Blogger Geir Balderson November 12, 2017 5:31 PM

Haven't watched Football since college. These teams don't look like me. Same for Basketball.
Baseball might be more inclusive. Hockey any day!!!

@6: well said. Also, if you need a flashlight to see what you are eating, something is wrong.

having gone to to high school the next county over, i can tell you that the ND alumni and fans love that the rest of the country can't stand them.

feeds their Narcissistic need for evidence of their own innate superiority. because, obviously, only those so beneath them would be so 'jealous'.

Blogger JaimeInTexas November 12, 2017 6:47 PM

Thanks Vikings for giving Keenum the chance that Texans did not.

Blogger JaimeInTexas November 12, 2017 6:49 PM

Not NFL.

Nate. Miss. State played well but Alabama's did what it does. Georgia fell to Auburn. Tough conference.

Anonymous patrick kelly November 12, 2017 7:18 PM

I agree ND is usually overrated, but I'm a fan, although not a "faithful". My Irish heritage and all. And their coach is a Kelly, how can I not love that?

Not sure, just channel flipped by it, something like "Champions of Wrestling". Looked like it was broadcast from a man cave with a ring in the middle of it.

Blogger ((( bob kek mando ))) - ( Fine Purveyor of Quality Artisanal Gorm ) November 12, 2017 10:56 PM

as with Boomers, 'Not All ND Fans Are Like That'.

but a lot of them are, especially up around the university. and the WNDU news / sports crews were so bad i wanted to strangle something.

i suppose pro analogs would be something like the Cowboys and Yankees fandoms.

"You only hate us because we're awesome ( due to our completely imaginary association with an awesome sportsball team )!"

then why do i still hate you when your team sucks? cuz, you know, everybody has down years.

Blogger AdognamedOp November 13, 2017 5:37 AM

I think we're deep enough into the season to predict the SB will be Brady vs either the E-gulls or the c-hawks.

Anonymous JAG November 13, 2017 9:15 AM

I'm a Miami U football fan. Have been since the Schnellenberger days. There is nothing finer than routing Notre Dame. The only thing that comes close is beating Florida State because they missed yet another FG in the closing seconds.

Anonymous JAG November 13, 2017 9:21 AM

Also, beating Nebraska in Orange Bowls never gets old either.
