A Christmas parody

I've seldom been more proud of my progeny. We went to a local church tonight for a Christmas Eve service, but instead of the intellectually formidable young pastor who normally preaches there, it was a woman who apparently serves the church in some administrative capacity officiating.

As you might expect, she promptly began talking about herself, then talked about herself some more, then invited all the children to come forward in order to bask in her proximity. She proceeded to completely ignore the congregants in favor of trying to charm the children, prompting me to observe that women in religious leadership inevitably resort to either a) entertaining the children or b) sacrificing them.

After about half an hour of this performance art, one child commented that the ersatz pastor had yet to mention either God or Jesus Christ. And when she did finally get around to addressing Christmas, it was to tell the story from the perspective of a 12-year-old girl living in Bethlehem. For a moment, I thought I was going to have to physically restrain another child from going full "bullwhips in the Temple" on the woman; we finally left in the middle of her animated monologue about what that first Christmas would have felt like to her younger self had her she been there before any of the kids removed a shoe and winged it at her head. Nor were we the only people who walked out early.

The rest of the family was surprised when we returned home much earlier than expected, but as I pointed out, we would have had a considerably more genuine Christian experience had we simply stayed home and watched A Charlie Brown Christmas again. But for all of that, it was an early Christmas present for me in seeing first-hand how the younger generation is more than ready to go full Deus Vult on the cursed churchians.

And speaking of the unlikely Christmas cartoon classic:
Peanuts creator Charles Schulz was a man of deep faith, and was unwavering in his insistence that the Christmas special featuring his beloved characters also feature the reason for the holiday itself: the birth of Jesus Christ.

Schulz ingeniously developed the script so that Linus’ soliloquy about angels telling the shepherds the good news about the Savior’s birth is central to the plot. There is no way to edit out the Bible verse and still have the story make sense. Tweaks have been made to the special over the years — minor edits to color and sound effects, references to sponsor Coca-Cola removed after the original broadcast — but Jesus always remained.

And so we have this wonderful annual reminder of the true meaning of Christmas, delivered by a child’s voice in an animated cartoon.
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace and goodwill towards men.

Far be it from me to correct you on matters theological, since I was a barbarian until only yesterday and also, I know how much you appreciate "correction" (akshually).

That said, I do believe Ann Barnhard has a point that the original is probably "peace to men of good will" I.e. Christians.

Her post on it is here:

https://www.barnhardt.biz/2017/12/17/linus-van-pelt-on-translation-accuracy-and-moral-fortitude/

I think it makes sense given the Deus Vult nature.

Have a happy Christmas Vox.

Over at the church I attend, I read the Christmas Eve service schedule too quickly and mistook "contemporary" for "traditional" and wound up going to the contemporary service this morning.

As you can imagine it was filled with repetitive lyrics, electric twangers and funked up versions of traditional Christmas songs that really missed the mark in my estimation. Reading ahead in the program I excused myself for the part listed "Worship Music" and politely exited the church for a coffee and came back when the songs were finished for the sermon. It was the first time I ever heard Angels We Have Heard on High and NOT be put in the Christmas spirit. Sermon wasn't bad though.

Merry Christmas Vox, Dread Ilk and all the VFM's and I'm looking forward to what this blog has to offer in 2018. :)

in all of my years attending church... all over the South and some of the North... I have only ever encountered one female minister that didn't talk about herself all the time.

Rosemary was an older woman in the mid 90s and she was an absolute gospel preaching power house.

But what her gifts really accomplished was to put the inability of the others into stark contrast.

Its like God said, "Here this is what this would look like if they did it right. So you'll know they really aren't doing it right."

Well the efforts to cut Linus' speech from Charlie Brown's Christmas are well underway, anyway. Schools that put it on as their Christmas play (sorry, "Winter Festival Convergence") must face this question now.

But, on the brighter side, Trump's effort to Make Christmas Great Again has seen some payoffs. I have been saying Merry Christmas to everybody during Advent. And I've been getting it said back to me in return. I've had Muslims and Hindus say it back to me, too. No problem. Even Jews. Everybody but the white SJWs, who say "Happy Holidays" in return. I was struck by one of the Old Testament readings at my Orthodox parish tonight. From the Book of Baruch: “Do not give your glory to another, and what is profitable to you to a foreign nation.”

(I cannot imagine going to a non-Orthodox church at this point. When I go to church on Christmas Eve, I know exactly what I’m getting: scripture and proven theology about the incarnation of my Lord and God and Savior. The same can’t be said in any other ecclesial community. Sad.)

Anyway, “Christ is born!” Merry Christmas to all.

The Christmas Eve service was yesterday for us, and though the instrumentation was contemporary the music didn’t strike me as a messed up adaptation. I don’t know why a good Christmas carol has to be ruined.

On a side note, my family was blessed just in time for Christmas with the safe arrival of a third daughter. May we raise our children to be loving and gentle, yet also boldly standing for the Truth.

Vox,

I just came to your website to write about a pathetic christmas eve service, and was suprised to see that you had a similarly bad mass.

I am currently in Palma de Mallorqua, where I decided to spend my holidays and where I jus visited a christmas eve service. This service is no less than a UNESCO intangible cultural heritage, and consequently I had large expectations. And indeed, the interior of the cathedral with its cristmas decoration was one of the most beautiful things I have seen so far and reinforced my believe in the christian faith (where else can you find such beauty?). It was completely full and thus I decided to leave my seat for some children, and followed the mass standing. It was alright until about 75 minutes in, where they started talking about the need of the west to take more migrants from africa and the middle east. The priest underlined his claims wih false interpretations of the bible and out-of-context quotes of Jesus. By that time about 1/3 of the people left already, and then me and many more left.
Ouside, some local asked if I understood what was being preached towards the end, and called the priests "these fuckers", which I wholeheartedly agreed with.

You often talk about how business opportunities arise when enterprises get SJW-converged and move towards bankrupcy.
What do you think about the futur of the catholic church? More and more it appears to me as a large spiritual empire, an empire that is SJW converged, and thus doomed to fail. But what will replace it? In the catholic world we dont have hundreds of different churches to choose from, as is the case in the USA. If it fails, who can possibly replace it, if there are hardly any alternatives, if no organic competition has come up in many many centuries?

I also pondered that phrase, and when I read the Douay-Rheims translation "peace toward men of good will" it made more sense.

Of course, modern translations will probably change it to "peace on earth and goodwill toward men, womyn, trannies and all other genders."

Being on holiday you probably didn't have many choices, but if you have time to deliberate, I always recommend finding a traditional, Latin Mass parish, even if you have to drive an hour. This Novus Ordo Mass you see at your typical Catholic churches is practically a new religion.

So what can we say?

We have to go all the way back to the 4th century (Arian heresy) to find a crisis of this magnitude in the Church, so let's recall the words of the great St. Athanasius:

May God console you! ... What saddens you ... is the fact that others have occupied the churches by violence, while during this time you are on the outside. It is a fact that they have the premises --- but you have the Apostolic Faith. They can occupy our churches, but they are outside the true Faith. You remain outside the places of worship, but the Faith dwells within you. Let us consider: what is more important, the place or the Faith? The true Faith, obviously. Who has lost and who has won in the struggle --- the one who keeps the premises or the one who keeps the Faith?

So what is our plan?

1) We stay true to the Faith while the world goes nuts. Don't let some idiot lead your soul into hell, even if he's a priest or he wears white and calls himself pope.
2) If we want to experience the beauty and arts of previous times, visit the cathedral during choir practice, but don't go to the "New Mass", which was designed to send your soul to hell for eternity.
3) Go to Sensum Fidelium on YouTube to find the sermons of honest priests to lead you to heaven.
4) If you need to hear an honest discussion from an honest prelate about refugees and migrants, you can find it hear: https://youtu.be/FUqH5-lwj1A?t=44m32s.

So... in some ways we are on our own, like sheep without a shepherd. But we are not alone. We have God, the saints before us, the angels, and each other fighting to keep our faith strong.

My friend doesn't do this either, and yet he's a christian. I never got this before. Why would he use words like "humanity" or "interaction". Why not use words that come from the source. He said its that people of today would not understand it as well. So they've updated it. Not exact words but like it.

They perverted it. "Humanity" is a perversion. The great modern lie. Why would the devil burn the book when he could make it seem like a joke.

Words matter. Killed words - sacrifice, duty, soul.

Only the beginning.

RE "...women in religious leadership inevitably resort to either a) entertaining the children or b) sacrificing them".
Apt observation!

Merry Christmas

Earlier in the season my family was invited to a service at a church we had never attended. The service consisted of a skit performed by two women in the church. One played the teenage virgin mother, the other her cousin Elizabeth. It was supposed to be a dialog at the time of Mary visit, but in present day America.

What the skit ended portraying was a conflicted Mary debating on whether to have an abortion, with Elizabeth trying to dissuade her. It was truly appalling. Clearly it was meant as an anti-abortion message. Such statements can be made, but ought to be done without completely rewriting scripture in hopes of making it relevant. The minute you start changing up God's Word to make it relevant, you end up losing all relevance.

To all the Christians on this site,

May you all have a Merry Christmas and a happy new year. May all your loved ones have one as well. My the father in Heaven Bless all of you.

# 75: Throwing politics into this is, well poor taste. Also it made no sense, Trump has been one of the best friends to Jews this nation has seen in recent years, far better than Obama (the turd colored president).

#78: Your basic evilness and shrunken soul is plain to see. Let me give you a hint to a good life:

Pray to your Father in Heaven for illumination. Ask in a genuine manner, with a bit of humility, that you will receive and act on any information imparted to you, that any evil that enfolds your heart will be lifted so you can see the truth. You may be surprised with what you learn, and then find if you come back her with a repentant heart you are greeted by all these "horrid Christians" in a manner you find ...different.

Right now, WV is gifted with heavy snow, the problem with hyper emotional narcissist chaos women in power is all they can offer is their bodies as sexual objects or their twisted version of (reality) Christ of which they know little of via their hyper estrogenic minds, they know their feelings in relation to their alleged salvation but little else they are a esoteric estrogneic danger and a general danger to children.

In fact if they are not introducing Handels Messiahs or something of the patriarchy they do not belong in the service unless they are singing, their alleged singing is dangerous too, unless its Renee Fleming sit down, girl.

Men need to re-take singing

Dont tell me about spirit filled, thats great, but the women must devote time to home making not preaching in the public -

I am silent due to sickness but others helped me, thank you despite pneumonia and blood poisoning from a transfusion and head injuries I experienced. - I fell; All my fault that I take responsibility for.

Women cannot and do not belong near the pulpit ever, its nice in a praise session as they are taken away in 5 mins, truly really women are too long winded to behave in that they want to pull the 'me-ism sickness' upon speaking.

(Things I can't say; some broad is preaching at me, doing the game of I - itis or i-ism in the form of an sickness, I suggest she sacrificed children with her stupid feelings never mentioning anything of Christ, the Lord, b/c women in the pulpit simply DO NOT BELONG.)

Love, Hugs, Support, Prayers etc from dad e.i. "The Captain DJ9" along with (mom and I the "lp9" with great joy and contentment, wow, let us all take notice to a lovely Christmas.)

I dedicate Handels Messiah;s catalog to everyone in the Latin and dear hugs and prayer's to so many at Vox Days, God Bless dearest SB, the family and the readers, VFM, Dread Ilk, I ask the Lord to bless you all at

I was wondering about that. Thought that maybe Vox was back in the US for the holidays.

Anonymous Stickwick December 25, 2017 12:33 AM

I hope I can do as well raising my progeny as Vox and SB clearly have with theirs.

Regarding that iconic scene in A Charlie Brown Christmas, there were misgivings about having Linus quote scripture, but we can be thankful for Schulz' courage in insisting on it:

During the making of the animated Christmas classic A Charlie Brown Christmas, Peanuts creator Charles Schulz had a meeting with Lee Mendelson, the show’s producer, and Bill Melendez, its lead animator. The discussion concerned Schulz’s insistence about including a New Testament scripture reading of the Christmas story from the Bible. The scripture reading was to be spoken by Peanuts character Linus Van Pelt in response to Charlie Brown’s lament, “Isn’t there anyone who knows what Christmas is all about?” Mendelson and Melendez both voiced their concern about the reading, with Melendez telling Schulz, “It’s very dangerous for us to start talking about religion now.” Schulz answered him by saying, “Bill, if we don’t, who will?” In the end, the scripture reading was retained, and the CBS special was the second-most watched show of the week when it debuted on December 9, 1965.

Growing up atheist in a secular country, my family nevertheless watched A Charlie Brown Christmas every year. It was, and still is, my favorite Christmas program. As a kid, I never set foot in a church, nor did I ever read the Bible, so I didn't understand the passage Linus recited during that pivotal scene; but somehow I knew it was important. That scene, all by itself, lent an air of gravity and mystery to the season that this secular kid didn't quite understand. It would be twenty-five years before I fully understood the magic of Christmas, but Linus' soliloquy played a part in that and my eventual acceptance of Jesus Christ. That's the power of God's word. Who knows how many other secular kids that little program reached. Many, I hope.

Anyway, Merry Christmas Vox and family, to all of the Ilk, to the passersby, and especially to those who are still seeking answers. May you experience fully the joy of knowing Jesus Christ.

"in all of my years attending church... all over the South and some of the North... I have only ever encountered one female minister that didn't talk about herself all the time."

2. 1 Timothy 2:12 But I do not allow a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man, but to remain quiet.

13. 1 Timothy 3:8 Deacons likewise must be men of dignity, not double-tongued, or addicted to much wine or fond of sordid gain,

14. Titus 1:6 An elder must be blameless, faithful to his wife, a man whose children believe and are not open to the charge of being wild and disobedient.

23. Ephesians 5:23-25 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.

Sorry, left out this line:

Nate, she wasn't actually a pastor, whatever she and a clearly apostate church claimed. It is impossible for a woman to be Christian clergy; the Bible is clear on that.

To those that do not want to believe...Merry Christmas, and I pray your hearts will soften and you will find the Lord.

Nor were we the only people who walked out early....it was an early Christmas present for me in seeing first-hand how the younger generation is more than ready to go full Deus Vult on the cursed churchians.

Excellent. That does warm the heart and give hope. And Merry Christmas!
