Beyond Alt★Hero

As you may recall, our objectives with regards to the comics industry go well beyond Alt★Hero. That may be our aircraft carrier, but our goal is not to sail around the metaphorical seas and do naval exercises while looking pretty, it is to actually sink ships, blow things up, and send in the Marines to take territory. I mentioned that one aspect of our larger strategy fell into place earlier this week, now here is a glimpse of another one.

In addition to creating our own content, we are signing comics that are being produced by others that we believe will be of potential interest to comics readers who are increasingly dissatisfied with the SJW-converged material that Marvel and DC Comics are trying to push on them. Below is a page from what will likely be the first comic that we will release through our new channel.

That's right. We're doing Wodehouse. We also have a pair of Lovecraft Noir works in the mix as well as a possible adaptation of a popular military science fiction series by one of Amazon's bestselling authors. Just to be clear, none of this is utilizing any of the resources provided by the Alt★Hero backers, it is merely the result of other content creators wishing to avail themselves of the alternative distribution channel we are creating by publishing with us.

Bertie Wooster! That's awesome!

The fast Fleet Train is the indispensable piece for victory. You're loading supplies for other task forces as well. Confuse and conquer ny multiple assaults.

On board with this as well!

You guys have done depressingly little to drain my wallet in the last 30 days, Vox. Good to know that will end shortly ...

Blogger James Dixon December 08, 2017 5:47 AM

All is proceeding as I have foreseen. My work is done. And all it took was a measly $15. It was a pleasure to be of assistance.

I wonder how Jason will react once the channel is fully in place and the comics start flowing?

Galaxy's Edge! At least that's my guess.

Make sure to let us know when we can 'demand' our local comic store order the products. I want them to see the face behind the alt-hero supporter (customer of 20+ years).

Quick request: a comic book that goes into the Obama/Soros globalist funding structure. Highly detailed and informative. We're seeing more and more stories about how their shakedown rackets (Pocahontas is currently in the thick of it) and shadow money is going around open market civil action.

Lovecraft adaptations, you say? FWIW, I always thought his stories were allegorical to OT 'heed the warnings, do not tempt God', even though on first glance one would see them as monsterporn.

We will, in February or March. One step at a time. We're planning to contact every single store in the US, UK, and Australia. We'll put out a call to those who want to take part in that effort in the new year.

Because all proper naval campaigns begin with a nuclear strike.

Anonymous Patron December 08, 2017 6:21 AM

Jeeves & Wooster comics? This'll be fun by Jove.

I also wonder how many other Weird Tales or old sci fi authors besides Lovecraft could be made into comics. Lots of good material out there if so...

Blogger Cataline Sergius December 08, 2017 6:22 AM

Can't wait to see Spode!

Blogger James Dixon December 08, 2017 6:35 AM

If only you could get the rights to the Shadow. That would be something. I think I know of someone you already have a working relationship with who would love to write some stories about him.

This is such great news, and what an incredible effort. I love the rest of the alt right, BUT they mainly do headlines podcasts. It gets tedious - creating real culture is where it's at. Thanks Vox!

Conan comics have traditionally been very successful. For whatever reason, Edgar Rice Burroughs ones have not always been. It's probably the execution that failed, though.

I'd love to see some Clark Aston Smith comics. Lovecraft's actually been done (or pastiched, at least) in the indie comic world many times.

Blogger RobertDWood December 08, 2017 8:17 AM

Monster Hunter perhaps?

Yes, but the entire series has been covered at one time or another.

> For whatever reason, Edgar Rice Burroughs ones have not always been.

Tarzan and John Carter are always favorites though, so maybe...

Things that have been less covered might be more desirable though. E. E. Smith would fit right in at Castalia House, for instance.

Blogger Danby December 08, 2017 8:26 AM

That old quean Stephen Fry has so dominated the role that all Jeeves must look like him. Wodehouse describes him as short, bald and round like a billiard ball

Well said.

Looking foward to this!

We'd love to do it. I've inquired of Larry but haven't heard anything back. His fans who are interested in graphics novels should let him know.

Anonymous Critically Bent December 08, 2017 9:12 AM

VD - Are you only accepting already finished content? Are you pairing up writers and artists at all? Are you accepting pitches for ideas? I've been developing an idea that I originally thought would be a novel, but when I imagined it as a comic book, it really popped. I might end up just drawing it myself if I can find the time and resources, though I've never done comic books before, I'm pretty sure I could learn.

Anonymous Killua December 08, 2017 9:21 AM

@27 I can make some art for you. We can start with free samples. I will probably be more active when I get a tablet next year. I hang out at the discord alt hero art group.

Blogger VD December 08, 2017 9:23 AM

No, content does not have to be finished, but I'm not at all interested in either a) ideas or b) writers. Castalia House has no shortage of either. What is expensive is the art. If you can either a) supply the art or b) supply the resources to pay for the art, then we're interested in hearing from you.

@29

Cool beans! Looks like I'll be drawing lots...

Blogger tuberman December 08, 2017 10:02 AM

This comics expansion is exactly what I figured would happen, and it's a very good thing. I read another Castalia House book yesterday, SF, and all in one day. Castalia has given me consistently top fiction.

Blogger Madame Ringading December 08, 2017 3:10 PM

Monster Hunter would be great, and speaking of Correia, Tom Stranger would be another excellent choice.

Blogger Greg Hunt December 08, 2017 6:11 PM

I've read your comment three times now, and I'm still laughing out loud.

Blogger Starboard December 08, 2017 6:59 PM

I backed Alt*Hero mostly to sink the SJW battleship. If we get Wodehouse and Lovekraft as a side effect of building the Castalia Comics warship, then all I can say is, "Take my money!"

If you are sending in the Marines, you're probably a Amphibious Assault Ship rather than the self licking lollipop that is the Aircraft Carrier.

@23....... E.E. "Doc" Smith......hell yeah!!! The whole Lensman series would totally rock some boats....

God bless Vox!

Anonymous Luke December 08, 2017 9:54 PM

The world SERIOUSLY needs "A" movies on all of the following:

1) Doc Smith's "Lensman" series

2) H.P. Lovecraft's stuff (multiple candidate books)

3) Brian Lumley's "Necroscope"/"Wamphyri" series

4) Gayle River's book "The Five Fingers" (ultimate Vietnam War combat)

5) "One Second After" book made into a good movie

6) Jean Rapail's "The Camp of the Saints"

Anonymous Brick Hardslab December 08, 2017 10:24 PM

"Lovecraft noire"
Want.

(a bit off topic, but may I recommend a cheesy movie "The Last Lovecraft"? It is pretty funny. Great Cthulu will rise unless the last of the Lovecraft line stops the acolytes from it. Not serious, but pays homage to the Mythos. On Amazon Prime.)
