More cracks in the EU
The Eastern European countries are not backing down now that they know the costs of the EU are higher than the promised benefits:
Last week, the EU moved to punish Poland over its refusal to accept refugees by taking away its voting powers in the European Council. But if the row escalates much further it could push Poland out of the bloc, according to Renata Mienkowska, a political scientist at the University of Warsaw.‘Warszawo, walcz!’
Ms Mienkowska explained the EU is unlikely to be able to punish Poland, which has refused to accept refugees into the country since the refugee crisis began in 2015. It will need a unanimous vote by all other EU members to ban Poland from voting on the European Council. But the bloc is unlikely to achieve this, given the EU has also moved to punish Hungary and the Czech Republic for the same transgression, and the three nations are likely to back once another.
Ms Mienkowska told Die Zeit: "The EU has tried to intervene on several occasions, but too little and too late. Unanimity is needed for the withdrawal of the right to vote in the European Council - it does not exist because Hungary is on the side of Poland."

Wisegrad group must be alarming to someone in Brussels.
Polish pilots saved Britain at the Battle of Britain. It would be nice for Britain to return the favour.
Send all the migrants to Brussels. And may they burn it to the ground after cutting the throats of the Euro Techno-trash dictators there.
I just hope that when the Visegrád Four leave the EU, they'll be smart enough not to replace it with a smaller version of the EU. Some thought needs to be given to the question of whether a common market is desirable in Central Europe and, if yes, how to structure it politically.
Also: I'm guessing when the V4 leave the EU, some peripheral states, like Slovenia, Croatia, Lithuania, and even Austria might join them. The EU may one day say: I could have had a V8!

British gratitude and memory did not even survive WWII. They stabbed the Poles in the back at the end of WWII when they dropped the Polish Government in Exile in London in favor of recognizing the Soviet puppet regime in Warsaw instead.
Besides the whole stabbing Poland in the back after WW2 issue, did Polish pilots really "save Britain"? Look at it now, they are overrun with foreigners, I cannot imagine how Britain ruled by the German Reich could ever be worse than it is now.
Cool.
Pexit, Hexit, and Czexit!
When I was younger, "dumb Polack" jokes were all the rage. (Why did the Polack put ice in his condom? To keep the swelling down.)
My, how times change. Now the Poles are the smartest people in the room.

Poland is currently hosting a large number of displaced Ukrainians. The Poles have every right to roll the Tanks through Berlin to get the point across, if the EU insists on pushing this further.
Actually looked into this previously. Western Poland invading Eastern Germany is incredibly doable given the geography. In a daylight move, Polish armor could completely surround Berlin with much ease, then blockade any move to try and reinforce the entire NE of current Germany.
The irony of the Poles capturing Berlin isn't lost on me, either.
The UK parliament have voted against giving May carte blanche to produce legislation after negotiation for Brexit. A hard exit is coming. And, despite London's fears, Britain will survive.
And should then stand with Poland.
(Remember that at the end of the war the socialists / Labour were running Great Britian, and had no spine).
There really is a limit to what Brussels can do to recalcitrant member states. If it's too onerous, annoying, or humiliating, that member state will just leave. And there's nothing the EU can do about it.
Which is why they're pushing for an EU army.
Good for them. The Poles really seem to know what they're doing, and WHAT THEY DON'T WANT.
Czech's too. Hungarians DEFINITELY.
No more Polack jokes from me.
Do juncker, Merkel et al seriously think the 100s of thousands of 'migrants' allowed into Germany in 2015 will just passively integrate ? Merkel and her buddies have imported the means of Europe's destruction, which is what they want, and Poland knows it.
"Actually looked into this previously. Western Poland invading Eastern Germany is incredibly doable given the geography. In a daylight move, Polish armor could completely surround Berlin with much ease, then blockade any move to try and reinforce the entire NE of current Germany."
Poland had exactly this kind of arrogance prior to the entry of the Wehrmacht in 1939. Then they got taught quite a lesson -- and of course, then they went crying to every nation around to save them from the oh-so-mean Germans, whom they thought that they could whip; just like a little punk who picks on someone bigger than he is, then, when he gets his butt kicked, whines to his parents and teachers about the "big, mean bully."
Besides, what is today eastern Germany (historically central Germany) is the saner part of the nation. (In Saxony, the AfD won the most votes of any party.) That's the part that's trying to actually save Deutschland from Merkel (who has pretty substantial Polish roots, by the way).
"Besides the whole stabbing Poland in the back after WW2 issue, did Polish pilots really "save Britain"? Look at it now, they are overrun with foreigners, I cannot imagine how Britain ruled by the German Reich could ever be worse than it is now."
Exactly. The "saving" of Britain only meant opening the door to Judeo-Bolshevism, first to occupy Poland for decades, and later, to morph into Cultural Marxism and ensure the demographic replacement of the English.
A German victory in the war would have meant Britain would still be white today, and infinitely more socially conservative and less degenerate -- in short, more British -- just as Vichy France was still in all ways French -- a lot more than today's France is.
"Western Poland invading Eastern Germany is incredibly doable given the geography."
Hell, for awhile, Western Poland WAS Eastern Germany. Wroclaw changed hands many times before it went back to Poland after WW2. They still call it Breslau in some places in Germany.
Which is why they're pushing for an EU army.
Not gonna happen, because not workable.
Here's an idea who's time may be about right again. Anyone have a spare Hapsburg archduke handy?

We have seen a Pan-European Army in the past...it was called the Waffen SS.
Before that, to find a Pan-European Army you would have to go back to Napoleon. The army that invaded Russia with Napoleon was called the "army of 17 tongues" by the Russians, mocking the very multi-national "French" Grande Armie.
@19
So? Napoleon's still dead. So's Hitler.
Not gonna happen in current year, because not workable in current year.
They'll just change the rules to make it so they don't need a unanimous vote.
Pan Euro army also can't happen because they can't afford it. Look at what each individual state spends on their military (read: not much) and expect each nation to spend exactly how much on the upkeep? Besides, you expect France to pay for German troops or Belgium to pay for Italy's? Awful lot of history to point at that being a non-starter.
@16 Dave W.
I want to make a "Brandenburg will rise again!" joke, but we're probably at the "too soon" point.
I made a WW1 joke a bit ago, in another place, it and was "too soon".
@21 Difster
More than likely, but they're going to cause themselves issues when they do.
> Some thought needs to be given to the question of whether a common market is desirable in Central Europe and, if yes, how to structure it politically.
The only real requirements for a common market are clearly defined (or ideally no) tariffs between the countries and easy conversion between the currencies.
People need to ditch the loser nazi fantasy shit already
The only real requirements for a common market are clearly defined tariffs (ideally none) between the countries and easy exchange of the currencies involved. Google seems to have changed the requirements to post on the blog, as my attempted posts have been disappearing all day. Testing now.
Apparently scripts from quantserve.com now have to be enable to allow posting. That didn't used to be the case.
Forgot to add the quoted part. My first comment above was in response to Tipsy's comment #4..

NATO country P invading NATO country D while NATO country U still has military assets in both countries?
Paging Harry Turtledove.
Karsten, Britain more conservative and less degenerate under Nazi rule???
Do you even Pink Swastika, bruder?
"No more Polack jokes from me."
One more and we'll start the rally: how do you stop a Polish Army tank? Shoot the guys who are pushing it.
I'm so lonely. I did something bad and I don't know what it was.
Pity me.
Re: Polack jokes. I remembered the one about the submarine with a screen door, and I wondered if Poland had a submarine fleet in WWII. It turns out they did. This is an amazing story that deserves to be a movie.

Never said it was a brilliant idea that Poland should immediately plan to do. But a lot of potential conflicts revolve around basic geography and a Poland -> East Germany rapid move to capture Berlin for a time being would be extremely difficult to defend for Germany. Especially if it was cloaked properly and done as a pure surprise.
Those types of events happen when we get further down the line of where things are right now, but, hey, Donald Trump is President of the United States of America. Look at the things that are Possible, not Expected, for the foreseeable future.
Remember when Ukraine had its protests in 2014 with one side demanding closer integration with Europe. Are the Ukrainians still clamoring to get into the EU and take on their share of migrants?
So when does Western Europe go Soviet and try and occupy Eastern Europe to subjugate it to their will?

The would need functioning ground armies for that. They really don't have them.

We did captured Berlin, you know. In 1945.

You got it wrong. (1) Until early 1930s (Before Hitler's rebuilt Wehrmacht), Poland COULD whip Germans on our own. (2) You confuse the propaganda with official stance. No government ever will tell its soldiers and population "hey, we are f*d". However note that Polish military plans were strictly defensive and included plans of withdrawal. No one in higher echelons had any illusions about the results of the war, propaganda directed at minions nevertheless. Moreover, it's not like we started it; Germany put demands impossible to fulfill unless Poland would be already defeated, especially after Czechoslovakia experiences.
AS for V4....

That and the population of Germany even with Turks is elderly, its the Demography of Florida as a county, median age like 48
If Germany did this, Turkey would be in Berlin in a few hours anyway
Trump obviously won't go along with such a thing but if such a thing were tried under some Leftists admin the EU would have to rely on the US to make such an invasion happen and while the officer core being made of many liberals might be OK with it, the Enlisted might not I'm not sure we could afford the money or tolerate the risk of WW3
Its a non starter
This story being wilfully ignored by the MSM...

You know who else wouldn't back down from Polish aggression?
Some mornings all I got is snark.
@25 There are browser incompatibilities. You simply cannot post using Pale Moon in Firefox compatibility mode, for example; recaptcha will run you through a half-dozen tests and still throw out your post as being from a robot. Same browser in native mode: it doubles up but lets it through. Brave on the same machine, no problem.
Some other blog software is the exact opposite.
browser test
There's absolutely no reason why nations can't have everything they might get from the EU (Apart from sit-down money) without any of the interference.
The EU is now doomed, and typically for a Germanic peoples political project, it will be destroyed by overreaching practical and useful goals in the hopes of getting something perfect, but stupid.
The entire shebang is now headed down the inevitable path laid out by its predecessors.
Expect booming sales of bunkers and handguns.
@30 Holy sh**, the wikipedia entry read straight is all you need, that's a top shelf war movie right there!
I can't wait for an American film company to utterly ruin it...

I thought that half of Turkey was in Berlin already.
@25 @40 Can't post on ANY Blogspot blog using SeaMonkey (close kin to Palemoon); have to break out the Hated Chrome. [2nd try, since Chrome ate the first one.]
Relevant to topic; much is explained:

What's not explained is cui bono -- who gains what from the evident goal, a U.S.-Russia shooting war? ("Military/industrial complex profits" and "der evil joos" lack sufficient logic, tho "the madness of Soros" remains a contender.)

It had been "historically central Germany" for like fifty years or so.

Yes, Pale Moon is definitely having issues. Brave is working fine. Unfortunately that's not an option at home. I had it working earlier today, but now it's broken again. Though I see my one past that disappeared earlier is now back, so I have a duplicate.
> You simply cannot post using Pale Moon in Firefox compatibility mode
Whereas the converse used to be true and compatibility mode worked better. :( Things seem to have changed yesterday though. It was working before then.
We will fight. For God, Honour and Fatherland.
