They say Cali is the trend setter, well the NFL better hope not. It's a strange market, college is big time NFL is not, I guess college has a built in fan base that at least likes to tailgate and network is the best I have.

Nice work if you can get it. I’ve wondered in the past if certain Major League Soccer (MLS) fans were on the payroll. My suspicions are growing deeper.

Hipsters and sjws don't like sports ball , neither do muz . They alienated their fan base.their fan base isn't producing children. People prefer being phone zombies . Decline/collapse is inevitable.

Fake fans in LA; who'd a thunk it? This is a big game for Fox and they're trying to do the whole "College Gameday" show where they setup the studio outside the stadium and are surrounded by boisterous fans from both teams.

Anonymous Weak December 10, 2017 11:18 AM

MLS fans are legit. Soccer isn't popular in the US. But those who are fans are hardcore crazygonuts for it. Very few casual fans. Even if 1% of people like soccer, that's easily enough to fill a 25,000 seat stadium in a city with a population over 1M.

Remember, MLS plays in smaller stadia. Not the gargantuan 100,000 seat places for the NFL.

Blogger Mr.MantraMan December 10, 2017 11:30 AM

One of the NFL's weaknesses is the media that surrounds it, they are a clown show. Today one of the articles at the Milwaukee Sentinel Journal is "Nelson the decline", now obviously his production stats have something to do with a QB who is not very good and whose chemistry is with another WR, but the editors went for idiot clickbait titles.

Off the top of my head I would put Julio Jones as 1 and Nelson as 1A on I play GM for a NFL superteam.

Blogger Mr.MantraMan December 10, 2017 11:37 AM

Rams - Eagles game, two very white QBs obviously not in the script to make this a premiere game according to the SJW. Limbaugh was right and what did the SJW do when he mentioned it, they doubled down, I have heard something about that, from somewhere.

Give us Joe Webb versus Geno Smith anyday.

It'll go down at the "Roger the Fake" era.

If it is anything like the audience in tv shows, they will coach them up before hand and someone off camera will cue their responses. So even if they are real fans, it is fake.

Anonymous Looking Glass December 10, 2017 11:44 AM

@6 Weak

MLS stadiums are pretty much never over 10k max seating. For not that many games per year, it's not that big of a place to fill. They also have enough European Immigrants in most major cities to produce a fan base.

Soccer/futbol is much more of a community activity than a spectator sport. Europeans get it. It's where you drink, go have a fight and then some sports happens.

I thought L.A. Rams fans were mostly fake or plastic surgery, to start with.

Counterfeiting Iggles fans? You get booed and pelted worse than Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, or Jimmy Johnson. Ya bums ...

Blogger Dave December 10, 2017 12:03 PM

Not only white but in Carson's case he's very open about his Christianity and being an avid hunter. Wentz and his brother were even producing their own hunting shows on youtube. Drives the lefties nuts to the point I've heard sports talk radio hosts whine about "why can't he just tweet about football".

Counterfeiting Iggles fans?

You missed the point...when the Eagles played the Chargers earlier this year in LA, there were so many Eagles fans there that Phillip Rivers said it wasn't a home game for the Chargers. So Fox was worried their pre-game show would be a sea of green so the call for Fake LA fans.

Who's advising Goodell, John Podesta?

Blogger Dave December 10, 2017 12:27 PM

Ah yes, Andy Reid and the Chiefs...someone sure popped that balloon. lucky for Andy he gets three home games in a row; Raiders, Chargers, and Miami. Then they finish up in Denver. If he doesn't win the division he should be fired but he won't be.

Blogger James Dixon December 10, 2017 12:35 PM

> If he doesn't win the division he should be fired but he won't be.

Chiefs management and fans seem to be content with a winning season and an early exit from the playoffs. Given their history over the past 20+ years that's somewhat understandable.

http://www.projectcasting.com/casting-calls-acting-auditions/foxs-nfl-sunday-looking-la-rams-fans

"Update (Sunday, December 10th, 2017): We have received the following statement regarding Fox NFL Sunday’s pre-game show by Eddie Motul, Vice President of Communications at FOX Sports and FS1, “We hired 1iota to help secure a live audience for tomorrow’s FOX NFL SUNDAY pregame show from the LA Coliseum. Not sure where the information in your post is coming from but it doesn’t represent our intentions accurately and because of it there is a notion among several sports blogs that we are paying actors to be Rams fans and that is absolutely not the case. Our set is located inside the stadium. Our show airs at 9 am PT when the stadium is technically not open to the public so therefore we needed to “bring in” a live audience.”

Fox NFL SUNDAY is not casting, they are not looking for actors, and no one is being paid."

Anonymous Causal Lurker December 10, 2017 1:06 PM

Dang, missed that one Dave. I was very busy that weekend, caught about a quarter on radio, and only saw the final score. Didn't listen to the whining. Will miss today's game also, because of family commitments. &*$& Birds.

Maybe the LA people don't realize that Eagles fans will boo AFTER the dumb Birds win a Super Bowl, because they didn't win by enough. It's a way of life, and if it harshes their mellow, well, ... BOO!, Dude!

Seattle Sounders play in Century Link Field, same place the Seahawks play. 70k seats or so. I think the Sounders close off the upper tier though, so maybe 35-40k

Even sadder, it's for a game dripping with playoff implications. Philly wins (or the Cowboys play normally for Dec) they clinch the division. The Rams could clinch the NFC West by winning and DET loss or tie + GB loss or tie + DAL loss or tie + CAR loss + ATL loss... So probably not.
But of course, most importantly, if the Vikes win the clinch the division plus if the Rams do win (possible) the Vikes take the #1 seed.
Oh, if the Bills lose (Against the Colts? Eh, anything could happen) NE and the Steelers clinch their divisions - or either one by winning.

Blogger YIH December 10, 2017 1:26 PM

CBS didn't have a problem hiding the missing fans for Colts at Bills :)

Blogger Dave December 10, 2017 1:37 PM

We hired 1iota to help secure a live audience for tomorrow’s FOX NFL SUNDAY pregame show from the LA Coliseum.

As Vox's update shows 1iota did say they were casting actors, models, and talent. Sloppy wording from 1iota but then Fox NFL should've been more exacting with their requirements and there wouldn't have been a need to put out a statement.

And anyway just how do we know if the "Rams" fans that show up are real or fake? It is LA after all.

The last time LeSean McCoy played in conditions similar to that he ran for 217 yards and 2 TDs against the Lions in Philly Dec. 8, 2013.

Immigrants don't watch MLS. They're still fans of teams in their home. There are jillions of articles here about immigrants not assimilating, but you think the one thing they'll adopt is our crummy soccer league?

MLS is legit. It's not NFL popular, but they draw fans.

Blogger Tatooine Sharpshooters' Club December 10, 2017 2:19 PM

And that allegiance is completely non-transferable, as Chivas USA demonstrated.

Color me completely reassured. Now let's talk about the game . . .

I watched most of it. That was some good old school sh*t right there. Between that game and the slugfest last week between Steelers and Bungles on MNF I've actually enjoyed the NFL a little bit lately. Hopefully tonight will be enjoyable as well.

The media's criticism of Roethlisberger's "AFC North ball" comment was a nice try to scar the beauty. But it's good to know that there are some things that even the SJWs can't ruin.

I called it several weeks back. It is far too irresistible for SJWs to poison one of the few remaining exclusively hetero areas.

I expect tranny cheerleaders to be the final nail in the coffin.

Man, I never even thought of it.

But of course that's next, its essential to the league.

Just essential to their mission.

I am so naive to have not imagined that.... its so next step.

> And the DC Perpetual Losers drop to 5-8. Most likely headed to a 6-10 record and a new coach.

Winning in the NFL begins with ownership choosing good general managers and coaches and letting them do their jobs. Snyder has never been able to do either one.

Blogger Eric Slate December 10, 2017 9:33 PM

Well, now we know how to lower the price of tickets...just hire SJW league directors then let the free market run it's course.

Blogger SemiSpook37 December 10, 2017 10:20 PM

It also doesn't help that Snyder's been too stingy to actually pay Cousins with a long term deal over the past two seasons. He can put up decent numbers, but that's only if the O-line has actually been healthy.

In related NFC East news, Carson Wentz left the Eagles/Rams game with a knee injury. Reports are that it's a torn ACL. ALL of my friends who are Philadelphia tra...er, I mean...Eagles fans are inconsolable.

There have already been calls for Sack-or-Pick to be brought on. Can't wait to see the crap show this brings.

I've perused some of their more popular forums. Some are wanting the Eagles to lure Romo out of the announcer's booth. Not going to happen, because Romo's skeleton is made of chalk at this point.

Ouch. That's three star quarterbacks down this year that I can think of. Not good.

Anonymous Clay December 12, 2017 5:50 PM

Ya know, the "Concussion Protocol", is really beginning to bug me. I think Kamara got his bell rung, but no worse than Antonio Brown did.

Just who is the final arbiter that determines it is CP?

Who decides whether or not a player has "cleared CP"?

It seems so arbitrary.
