NFL Week 16

Sorry, I forgot it was Sunday. But Mike Zimmer is still THE KING IN THE NORTH!

Discuss amongst yourselves.

Several NFL teams reportedly believe the Green Bay Packers have violated league rules by re-placing star quarterback Aaron Rodgers on the season-ending injured reserve list without specifying a new injury after the team was eliminated from play-off contention with Atlanta’s win over Tampa Bay on Monday night.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Sunday morning that the unnamed teams believe Rodgers should have to be released and placed on waivers due to the rule, which stipulates that a player must have suffered a new injury that would sideline him at least six weeks to be placed on injured reserve: “If that is not the case, the team is obligated to release the player once he is healthy.”

Schefter said “nobody expects” Rodgers will be released, which is why the teams felt a need to complain about the issue with the league office to begin with.
The rule is clear. Rodgers has to clear waivers. Whatever team has waiver priority should announce their intention to claim him and appeal to the NFL Commissioner for the right to do so.

The Packers got a lump of coal in their stocking. Blanked at Lambeau. It also answered the question ''how will the Vikes do in the cold?'' 17 (F) at kickoff, 8 at the start of the 4th.
If the Panthers lose to the Bucs, the Vikes clinch at least a first-round bye. However, if the Eagles beat the Raiders they lock up home field through the playoffs.

The packers violated league rules concerning Aaron Rodgers and IR. The league rules are clear that the Packers must release Rodgers as a result.

"The NFL referred all inquiries about the situation to the Packers, who have declined comment."

Some franchises are more equal than others.

Who cares about the NFL anymore?

I'd rather wish all of you a Merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year.

" if the Eagles beat the Raiders they lock up home field through the playoffs."

Yay, muh Raiderz still matter in the playoff picture. Raiderz/Spoilers seems fitting.

Merry Christmas everyone love, hugs and great cheer with pieces of gold, frankincense, myrrh chunks (version) to fire up despite annoying pneumonia which knocked me off my feet at almost 38.

Awesome, I got dad his special fancy foods to enjoy listening to the sports today in WV, thats our plan today and for the next few days given orthodoxy epistemology.

After I returned safely home, I was given a few gifts w/ money from moms friends, what a total blessing for food all week into 1/2018, I promised to not open anything until tomm AM, I had a gift ready for them which they did not expect but I was thrilled to give away a gucci watch that needs a battery, it was a surprise and lovely! Thank you to them and thank you dear Lord.

On the Rodgers news, the question that comes to mind, "What's a catch?".

Merry Christmas all.

Go Cowboys! We need to win today and next week to have a post season shot.

On behalf of Jerry Jones I hereby claim Aaron Rogers. ( I like Dak just fine but Rogers is HOF, Dak is a good QB)

The Browns would have the first shot at signing Rodgers, and that is why they are leading the charge. Green Bay could match it, and I'm sure Rodgers would prefer to stay, but he could use it to demand a bigger contract. Plus, his current contract would still be on the books for the cap hit.

Also, look later on youtube for the Buttception. Yes, we now have a buttception to go with the buttfumble.

What was the point in placing Rodgers on IR in the first place? It's not like adding somebody else to the roster in his place would have made any difference in making the playoffs, and they already had a spot (or two?) open anyway.

Meanwhile, the Lions doing everything they can to blow their remote shot at making it, too....

Incompetence. "A great enterprise can flounder helplessly or even wither away before our very eyes, as a result of malignant but as yet unnamed disorders, or in response to the operation of natural laws whose Newton has not yet been born to announce them to Mankind."

"The Packers returned quarterback Joe Callahan to the active roster when they placed Rodgers back on IR on Tuesday."

I guess they needed another backup to Hundley and didn't want to risk hurting Rodgers even more.

Still seems pointless, at this point.

Oh my! The Clintons will do prison time before the NFL ever forces the Packers to release Rodgers.

I thought you died, Dick.

Yeah, Cleveland never recovered from that Byner fumble on the goal line.

Blogger tublecane December 24, 2017 3:26 PM

Can't they just say the Vikings injured Rodgers' self-respect, and they forget to specify it because clerical error?

Anonymous Weak December 24, 2017 3:35 PM

So that was not a catch by Benjamin? The league isn't even trying to mask their collusion with the Patriots any more. What I can't figure out is why the other owners put up with it? Or even seem to tacitly encourage it? Does this somehow make them money?

Anonymous Jonathan December 24, 2017 3:50 PM

I'm not sure I would want a QB who does something called a "discount double check" after he scores.

Anonymous burgmeister December 24, 2017 3:53 PM

Rodgers to #Browns is going to be epic.

Anonymous patrick kelly December 24, 2017 4:49 PM

"Rodgers to #Browns is going to be epic."

Mr. Rodgers deserves better. The Browns need much more than a good QB, and they've become the graveyard for plenty of those.

Blogger Retrenched December 24, 2017 7:25 PM

"Yeah, Cleveland never recovered from that Byner fumble on the goal line."

I don't think they would have beaten the Skins, but I think they would have put up a better fight than Denver did, at least.
