No worries, they've got immigrants

Surely they will be more than up to the burden of shouldering the tax load:
According to the Daily Caller, three states, in particular, saw a massive departure of Americans to the tune of 450,000, taking their wallets with them as they fled. This is leading to the problem of having no one around to pay the bills in these tax-heavy states.

The Daily Caller reported that taking the lead is New York:

The exodus of residents was most pronounced in New York, which saw about 190,000 people leave the state between July 1, 2016 and July 1, 2017, according to U.S. Census Bureau data released last week.

New York’s domestic out-migration during that time period was about the same as it was in the same time 2015 and 2016. Since 2010, the state’s outflow of just over 1 million residents has exceeded that of every other state, both in absolute terms and as a share of population, according to the free-market think tank Empire Center.

Despite the number of people leaving New York, the population did grow due to high immigration from other parts of the world, and a higher birth rate.

California is yet another deep blue state that found itself watching Americans take their money with them as they left:

California was the third deep blue state to experience significant domestic out-migration between July 2016 and July 2017, and it couldn’t blame the outflow on retirees searching for a more agreeable climate. About 138,000 residents left the state during that time period, second only to New York.

But like New York, California’s population only grew due to a heavy flow of international migration to the state:

However, because California was the top receiving state for international migrants, its net migration was actually 27,000. Add to that number a “natural increase” of 214,000 people, and California’s population grew by about just over 240,000, according to the Census Bureau.

Both New York and California’s population growth may or may not help them. The tax status of the immigrants replacing the taxpayers that flee the states may range from completely legitimate, to non-tax paying status depending on the immigrants’ level of income or legality. According to CNN, most new immigrants into the country work lower paying jobs, and with those workers paying little to no taxes, the burden on the high-tax deep blue states could get even worse.
It's amusing how people suddenly start talking very differently about the tax-paying abilities of immigrants when they realize that the state's tax revenue is actually going to depend on them.

The problem is that these so-called "blue state" idiots are going to vote for exactly the same thing they're fleeing now. No state should have ever allowed its new residents to vote on state and local matters for at least two generations, and preferably three.

Remember the old joke "We'll lose money on every sale but make it up on volume?".
These states will lose money on the average immigrant but make it up in volume.

I recall the pro immigrant propaganda from the EU. The immigrants were needed to pay into taxes so the older citizens could retire. Now the headlines read that the retirement ages are being increased to pay for the added expense of immigrants.

If only there were a non-hyphenated term for the opposite of immigration.

What does "domestic" even mean in this context? Was I really going to be left wondering whether they were talking about people fleeing to Burkina Faso, or something?

I would apply the six-generations rule to the higher levels of academia as well. The current situation in Canada, in a lot of ways, is the end product of draft dodgers coming in and taking tenured positions at our universities. This is kind of awkward for me, since I had a couple of great instructors who were of that cohort (and who wisely kept their noses out of politics), but outside of those cases, I've seen too much damage done.

Back in 2016, had a fairly young customer who was from California, doing the whole 'I like the cost of living here but the culture is backwards' bit. Pointed out that states with really progressive cultures all have that crushing cost of living. Then I asked if he was sure he wanted to vote in the kind of progressive culture that he'd had to run away from.

He had a thoughtful look on his face as he left the store. Maybe some good came of it.

The Census Bureau isn't the only one studying States' outmigration. So has the IRS.

Between 2009 to 2014, the state lost more than $22 billion in wealth. The pace quickened in 2012 through 2014, when the state saw residents with $11 billion in total income flee the state.

From 2011 to 2013, New York led the nation in number of exemptions lost (342,000) and decline in the number of tax returns filed (159,000).

Since 1960, New York has lost 7.3m residents - no State has lost more - but yet has been growing.

New York voters need to reap what they've sewn. It's already killing black men over $1.65 in lost cigarette tax revenue. It'll get worse, and sadly, probably won't get any better.

It is long past time for Red States to pass "Anti-Blue Laws" designed to discourage the refugees from settling in their States. It isn't hard to think of measures that will make SJWs go "oh heck no, I just couldn't live in a State that ....."

Force local schools to teach American History, teach Civics, better teach Propaganda right out of Bernays' book so they will recognize it, teach marksmanship, etc. Make life as tough on freaks as the SCOTUS will let you get away with. Ban sanctuary cities, go Sheriff Joe X 2 on criminals statewide. Use your imagination. Even if you don't really like it, if you can live with it and SJWs absolutely couldn't, DO IT AND LIVE.

Several articles mentioning the vote-by-wallet status of blue-ter-ful Illinois last week:

This is the fourth year in a row that Illinois’ population decreased, a troubling trend, according to William Frey, a demographer with the Brookings Institution.

“It’s not just a one-year blip,” he said. “And the declines continue to get bigger from one year to the next.”

Frey added that the only state with a longer streak is West Virginia, with five years of losses.

The Tribune has interviewed dozens of former residents who recently left Illinois, citing a variety of factors from high taxes to state budget crises to crime, as well as the cold weather.

No and hell no. There is nothing stopping bio-engineers from turning everyone into atheist liberals via this technology if they can figure out how . Gene driven mosquitoes with a DNA alteration package, tailored flu virus , vaccines all manner of nastiness .

Anyone caught using it outside of a very limited and highly cleared national defense group should be literately burned at the stake.

Now as for a solution, assuming somehow the .Alt Right somehow took over several states or CONUS for that matter , it won't probably be a fully white ethnostate however there will be a new Constitution and the franchise will be limited

I suggest this be to landowners 21 and up and note this is defined as no house debt excluding mechanics leans and there will be a five year cooling off period when moving before the franchise can be exercised in a new state.

if people want this to be extended to women, its up to them. I don't think unmarried childless women should be allowed to vote or hold office myself.

Also if you want to keep liberalism down, its not easy. I suspect it as Anonymous Conservative suggests that Good times trigger R selection and this is an inherent biological process

what you would do is have explicit limits in state power and money and all states in the new union would also have to abide by these rules

No debt at any level , hard money or no money printing faster than population growth, very strict immigration limits, Federal and maybe state tax limits and so on should stop most of the problems.

Assuming the society prospers this is not a permanent solution , in times society will get rich and will get decedent in time and there is nothing that can be done about it

You an slow the rot and you can reduce the impact but you can't stop a natural change cycle if people get rich

Also it will be an uphill battle, the biggest economic change is that cheap labor other than part time kids jobs is going to be go up, a lot . Blame it on automation but unless White people have steady decently remunerative work they won't have substantial families if they have an option not too.

If the Mexican were nearly the hardworking good citizen and economic powerhouse that we hear from the Leftist Liberals and Chamber of Commerce, Mexico would be the new version of Switzerland. After all, Mexico has many times more of these Mexicans than live in the USA. Having lived in predominantly Mexican zones in Texas and New Mexico, I never got the impression they were particularly prosperous or very energetic.

Using the same missionary zeal these Leftist Liberals use to advocate for the more valuable and essential Mexicans, the Leftists will also tell everyone how badly they need assistance of all sorts and types once they arrived in the USA and no, that assistance may not go away in another generation or two, or four.

Of course, they want it both ways. The Leftist Liberals, and there are plenty who are Hispanic as well, have a long list of demands on the public treasury without any hope that the taxes paid by Mexicans will ever reimburse state, local, or Federal treasuries. Of course, that is not enough....that is why they need you and I and every American citizen to chip in to pay for new schools, hospitals, services, housing, new roads, and prisons. All of which are occasioned by the invasion from Mexico and would not occur without them.

If they did not come to the USA, nor were not allowed to stay, they would cost nothing. But since that is not the case, and they cannot pay for themselves, then the rest of us must help pay for their costs. Call this one, Operation "Just Because".

I grew up in Wilmington, NC....first at Sunset Park and later out Wrightsville Beach Road. When I moved back in 1989, I was surprised by a good many changes....in a town that never seemed to change at all. The Yankees had discovered Wilmington and moved there by the thousands. There were no natives of the city elected to the City Council, even the mayor was not from Wilmington. It turns out the natives had basically been pushed out of the city by Yankee money (and taxes) bidding up the price of real estate to where the natives could not afford to live there anymore. The natives scattered mostly to the adjacent counties.

Well living in Pennsylvania we get a lot of gun refugees from surrounding states. If you like guns and live in New York, New Jersey or Maryland, well we are the closest gun friendly state around.

The end result of all these liberal gun owning folks moving in...horrors, less restrictive gun laws in the last 30 years. In 1987 Concealed weapon permits were issued at the discretion of local sheriffs, local jurisdictions could pass their own gun laws and to buy a pistol required a 3 day waiting period, you could not loan a gun to someone else, etc. Now shall-issue state with only a NICs check, federal law determines gun laws and no local entity can pass its own gun laws, you can loan a gun to anyone with a permit to carry. Also hunting laws are better in a bunch of ways. Gun laws have become less restrictive, not more. Delaware used to be the best mid-Atlantic state from the Mason-Dixon line north to north of Mass., at least for guns, now PA is the most free.

As the productive are forced out of the liberal states, those states they move to are getting more Freedom oriented, at least here in the northeast. Of course that leaves states like NJ, NY, MY as cesspools, but seems to be what is happening,

It's been my theory for a long time that the *real* reason western politicians are so hellbent on importing the third world is that they realize their socialist ponzi schemes require an ever expanding population to be maintained.

Peter Drucker wrote a book in 1999 about how almost every single institution in the West was predicated on an every-expanding population, and that was no longer happening. Not only that, but none of the political parties or political divisions in the West (at that time) were aligned around answering questions about how to deal with population stagnation or decline. He said there would be lots and lots of chaos in the early 21st Century because of that.

I don't know what the hell happened to Trump but he's gone full cuck on immigration. If he thinks he's going to get the voter turnout necessary to win elections just on the performance of the stock market, he's kidding himself.

He seems to be completely focused on the business aspect of the country. (Which is mostly pie in the sky stuff; nobody is going to build factories here unless the tariff situation is fixed, and he's done nothing in that department.)

What about the terrorist attack in NYC? At what point are these terrorist attacks going to be the president's fault, like how Trump blamed San Bernardino, etc. on our incompetent leadership at the time?

What is the delay with the wall? Everybody is blaming the Congress for not putting up the money. Trump said Mexico is going to pay for the wall. What is the problem? The problem is that there is no will to get this stuff done.

Emigration of Californians, Illinoians, and New Yorkers poses a problem for the rest of America. People tend not to change voting patterns, even when they got hit in the pocket book so hard they uproot and emigrate to another state. The blue voting tide is already swallowing up Virginia, which is sad, because there's only one truly liberal region in the state.

One solution is to prevent them from voting for 20 years after a move. Another is to make them go back and live in the world they voted for themselves.

He might have missed a point, and that is automation/robots.  You don't need an expanding population to take care of the elderly if you can make robots to handle most of the routine tasks.  We're already on the cusp of immigrant labor being completely superfluous because of automation.  The last of the tasks in farm fields like stoop-labor harvesting of vegetables are falling to machines.

The last step is to levy employment taxes on the machines, in proportion to their productivity relative to humans.  They'll still be cheaper than humans, but the question of how public benefits will be paid for would no longer be in doubt.

Mr. Rational, you are striving for ways to keep the status quo afloat with the traditional faith that innovation and technology will keep the game alive. I believe Drucker was pointing out that such an approach may not do. A paradigm shift is afoot. The prevailing paradigm is the same one that has existed since the dawn of the Industrial Revolution, and that paradigm assumes the constant of continual growth and expanding markets. We've had downturns, busts and panics, but always rather temporary in nature with the underlying fundamental assumption of continual growth intact.

What happens to the markets, the financials, the governments' Ponzi liabilities if that constant disappears? When we have achieved market saturation, or worse, market volume declines? Egads, deflation, and all that? For instance, so many people today are saying that their home is their biggest "investment", that's how they are looking (and planning) in this insane prolonged real estate bubble. Imagine a situation where we suddenly had fewer homebuyers entering the market than leaving because of demographics? The buyers aren't just sitting on the sidelines, the buyers were never born. They aren't there, don't exist. That is the nightmare scenario for the Masters of the Universe. As if the 2008 meltdown were bad.

This is the situation that Drucker and Ryan G are talking about. If that constant of ever-expanding markets turns out not to be a constant after all, and there's a new game in town, then it truly is a new game. Or rather, one that has not been seen since the Black Plague had run its course in Europe, or the Roman Empire collapsed.

It's not about taking care of old folks. It's about having an ever-expanding population to soak up the ponzi scheme forced "growth."

Robots don't provide bureaucrats any opportunity to skim their vig off the transfer payments. Robots don't buy houses, meaning contractors don't need to build whole new subdivisions, meaning banksters don't need to finance the construction and can't skim their own vig off it. Robots don't go to college to get nonsense degrees, meaning colleges don't need to hire people with PhDs in nonsense studies, meaning colleges don't need to hire another batch of deans and provosts to oversee the nonsense-teaching profs they didn't hire.

Our entire banking system depends on an expanding base of borrowers. Most municipalities depend on extracting fees from developers to fund their budgets, and that means the developers need to build houses for new homeowners. State and Federal budgets depend on borrowing against future growth.

That's what it means to have institutions dependent on expanding population. Productivity isn't the issue, papering over inefficiency with go-go-growth is.

Incorrect.  I'm postulating ways to transform the game to keep it alive until its next essential transformation.  Using robots to keep the aging, unreproductive NAM populations of the USA in some sort of lifestyle is a way to eliminate the problems they cause... if we ever get the courage to prevent them from reproducing.

A paradigm shift is afoot. The prevailing paradigm is the same one that has existed since the dawn of the Industrial Revolution, and that paradigm assumes the constant of continual growth and expanding markets.
Growth in what, though?  More workers per human is great if those workers are robots.  It multiplies productivity.  You can keep having growth even if the human population declines.

This is one more of those things that fails to properly value productive capital.  A robot, properly programmed, can be the productive equivalent of several humans at a fraction of the direct cost.

What happens to the markets, the financials, the governments' Ponzi liabilities if that constant disappears?
What happens to the liabilities of Social Security if a robot can take care of a pensioner for 10% of the cost of Meals On Wheels and visiting medical staff?

Imagine a situation where we suddenly had fewer homebuyers entering the market than leaving because of demographics?
Imagine a situation where we suddenly had more homebuyers entering the market because the routine needs of both their aging parents and dependent children were largely taken care of by machines.  Would not those children be much MORE affordable?

Anonymous Jack Amok December 28, 2017 1:46 AM

We're not talking about possible solutions to a declining or stable population. We're talking about how institutions dependent on a growing population are going to thrash around unable to find solutions when the growth stops.

There are societal solutions to a stagnant population. They might even involve robots. But the chaos we face today is largely because the institutions currently holding power in Western countries cannot survive in an environment that doesn't have perpetual growth. And so cannot propose or support solutions that don't involve generating growth from somewhere.

We're not importing third world hordes in order to care for an aging population. We're doing it because Lew Goldberg down at First National doesn't get a paycheck if he can't loan money to Nick Barsuglia at Prometean Development Corp., and Nick can't take out the loan if he can't sell another thousand houses to somebody. And since Jack and Diane ain't haven't that many kids, Nick has to sell to Jose, Ackmed, and Consuela.

As long as those guys have influence, we're stuck with unworkable solutions, because there's no solution to their problem that doesn't involve importing goose-killing fake-Americans.

"New York voters need to reap what they've sewn. It's already killing black men over $1.65 in lost cigarette tax revenue"

That's a lie promulgated by the NYPD.

Eric Garner wasn't killed for selling untaxed cigarettes. Garner was killed for selling "loosies"; he was opening up packages of retail-purchased (and therefore, already taxed) cigarettes, and selling individual cigarettes.

Store owners were complaining that they were "loosing sales" -- despite the fact that Garner was buying his packs of cigarettes from stores in the neighborhood, and selling individual cigarettes at a higher per cigarette cost than whole packages, to the short timeframe people who wanted to get a cigarette "RIGHT NOW!!!!!" but didn't have the money in their pocket to buy a whole pack.

In a fantasy future where a white ethnostate is achieved, how do we separate out the former or would be liberals and keep them from ruining everything all over again or infecting our progeny with liberal genes? We need some kind of filter. I submit that if you haven't personally participated in the ethnic cleansing then you yourself must be cleansed.

"Everything else, like lifelong big-government voters and cheap labor for the tech/agriculture sectors, is just icing on the cake. Nobody, American, European, left, right, or center, is ever going to make meaningful cuts in social spending."

Well, not voluntarily.

The cuts will be forced on them. Witness: Detroit. The city is now insisting that residents actually pay their water bills, because the suburbs (who are on the Detroit water system, and Detroit wants it that way) are REFUSING to subsidize the profligate residents in the city, some of whom had not payed their water bill for over 10 years. Now, finally, the city is going around and turning their water off, unless they start paying their monthly bill AND working out a plan to pay back whatever amount is in arrears.

There was a huge local-news discussion about "the right to water." It was pointed out that nobody's stopping anyone from going down to the Detroit River and pulling out a few gallons to cook with. However, there is no right to the SERVICE of having it delivered to your home, for free.

The problem is exacerbated by the fact that most of Detroit are black transplants from the south. They don't give two hoots about maintaining ANYTHING, not even the roofs on their own homes. Water main bursts in the back yard, and leaks water for years, creating a literal pond with overgrowing plant life, like an oasis in the middle of the desert, and nobody reports it. Mayor Dugan (the first white mayor since 1972... a Democrat, but at least he's not a rabid black-nationalist Communist like Coleman Young) is finally getting crews to repair these leaks in the system ... some of which have been around for over 30 years, based on the age of the trees and bushes which have grown around these leaks). As you can imagine, repairing these leaks is much more expensive now with the out-of-control trees and bushes which have taken advantage of the constant flow of water.

Most families (or what passes for families in the black community) in Detroit are from North Carolina and Georgia. Even after being here for decades, they still don't understand the importance of fixing a leaking roof (even if it's nothing more than pouring some hot tar on the damaged shingles) before winter sets in. Doesn't matter if they are renters or home-owners. Same for plumbing leaks inside their houses.

I know one guy I worked with... about 60 year old black men... the house he was ranting developed a roof leak. His idiotic landlord (black woman) REFUSED to fix the roof when it started leaking (to the point that the ceiling plaster was falling apart). He finally had to call the city housing code enforcement inspectors, who then forced the landlord to pay the costs for him to move to a new property, and blacklisted the property for renting until the roof was fixed.

Similarly, another coworker, who lives in Pontiac, had a plumbing leak so bad that the basement was flooded several feet deep. His landlord (also black female) refused to do anything about it. He's got 3 small children in the home. I got her phone number from him, and called her up; told her she had 24 hours to get a plumber on the job fixing the problem, or I would have the city of Pontiac come inspect the property, which would most likely result in the property being condemned, and torn down at her expense. Only with that threat, did she send a plumbing crew to clear the drain and fix the broken pipe.

Its a part of the human condition. A failsafe to prevent stagnation. In every group there is an outlier and every system contains the seeds of its own destruction.
Whether in luxury or poverty, free men or slaves, monarchy or democracy there will be people driven to up end the status quo.

The problem isn't reallythe ideals or philosophy though it can be repugnant or idiotic. The problem is there are always people inherently self destructive to the system. So in such an ethnostate even if liberalism and progressives are culled there will be be men who will destroy or pervert your perfect ethnostate out of selfishness if nothing else.

This!

Allowing non-landowners, public servants and welfare recipients the vote doomed democracy.

Democracy can work with censitory suffrage, where only those who positively contribute to state expenses should get the vote. And YES , as in classic Athens or classic Rome, I agree that this definition of democracy (and "full rights" citizenship) is very different from ours.

It won't. The Fed lends money to the treasury, which is collateralized by treasury notes the fed holds but never sells (so it's not inflation, just debt, bc they're totally going to pay back those t bills the fed holds). The treasury then uses that "borrowed" money to pay for all the things, which ppl have to take bc its legal tender and you must have fed reserve notes to pay your income tax (or else prison). This is an endless, self-perpetuating loop. As long as the Fed and Treasury are in lockstep, they can loan infinite money without creating hyperinflation. The system cannot break itself, by design.

Other countries have to keep accepting our dollars as though they haven't been issued in stupendous number in currency and debt.

Which means their mere existance still tilts the balance in favor of their states, and still gets them votes to transfer money from taxpayers to them.

Unfortunately a few of my family there are. There is an Exodus going on. Probably slowed a bit upstate since most of the maker genes already left in past generations. Now downstate is so outrageously expensive it's causing another wave. Millennials are living in Mom's basement out of financial necessity, not necessarily because they're pussies. The entire downstate area is now as expensive and congested as NYC outer boroughs. Rents are insane. Property taxes are insane. White neighborhoods are turning over. It's like the white Exodus from Queens in the 70s, but in slow motion.

I'd have to say that America as I knew it ended in 1990, when the Supreme Court upheld the blatantly and obviously unconstitutional "sobriety checkpoints". See http://infogalactic.com/info/Random_checkpoint. There were earlier decisions pointing the way, but this was the obvious one in my lifetime that made it clear we no longer had a rule of law.

But the American republic died in the Civil War. We've been a empire since, so none of this should be surprising.
