What "democracy in Europe"?

The Neo-Napoleonists continue to ignore cause and effect:
A surge of populist political parties threatens democracy in Europe, Tony Blair's think tank warns today. A survey by the Institute for Global Change found the share of the vote taken by populist parties from both right and left has almost trebled since 2000. The surge has seen the parties support rising from 8.5 per cent to 24.1 per cent.

Over the same period, it said the number of European countries with populist parties participating in government has doubled from seven to 14 - creating an unprecedented 'populist belt' from the Baltic to the Aegean.

They are strongest in Eastern Europe and current hold power in seven countries - Bosnia, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Serbia and Slovakia. Populists are the junior coalition partners in two other countries and the main opposition in three more.

The report said: 'Parties like Poland's Law and Justice party and Hungary's Fidesz tend to emphasise a nationalism based on soil, blood or culture; take a hard line against immigration; and have, especially in Poland and Hungary, quickly started to dismantle key democratic institutions like the free media and an independent judiciary.

'Working largely within the letter of the law, and drawing on widespread popular support, they have destroyed many of the institutions that are needed to safeguard democratic institutions over the long-run.'

In contrast to Eastern Europe, where most populist parties are on the right, those in Southern Europe are predominantly on the left, such as Syriza in Greece and Podemos in Spain. However, the report said left-wing parties from other parts of the continent - including Labour in Britain - had embraced elements of populism, underlining the impact populist politics was having on the mainstream.

The report's co-author, Yascha Mounk, said: '2016 was the year that populism went prime time, but as our data makes clear: this rise started well before 2016.

'The huge transformation we are seeing in European politics is long term, driven by issues such as economic insecurity; a rebellion against immigration and the notion of a multi-ethnic society; and the ease with which extreme voices can make themselves heard in an age of social media.

'This populist wave has not crested and unless politicians managed to identify and counteract the structural drivers, populism will keep garnering strength in the years to come.'
There is nothing - literally nothing - democratic about the European Union. The entire structure is designed to limit and thwart the national will of the European peoples. Notice that the Neo-Napoleonists defend "democratic institutions" and don't work within the letter of the law as they oppose the actual will of the genuine people who do work within the law.

As for the "structural drivers", external immigration and internal free movement are the two primary ones. Both need to be not only stopped, but reversed.

Well said Vox. The EU is taking Poland and Hungary to court for refusing migrants, and rejecting Soros. Excuses are made about changes to Poland's courts, but Romania has decriminalised some forms of corruption. Not a peep from the EU as Romania takes migrants, and indeed supplies them as well.

The EU will never reform. To do so will be to admit they were wrong about globalism and mass immigration. They will always put ideology above the nations and peoples of Europe. Free movement and immigration do need to be reversed. They have to go back.

Instead of doing that, they will work to suppress rebellion against immigration and the notion of a multi-ethnic society; and the ease with which extreme voices can make themselves heard in an age of social media.

There is just too damn much cantankerousness and free discussion. That's the problem, yes?

Unsurprising, since the media and judiciary are two of the Cathedral's bigger arms. "Safeguard democratic institutions", more like "enact globalist agenda".

I think Western Europe is lost unless the whites unite and revolt. The sight of left-wing politicians tortured and then hung for their treason against native Europeans would be truly wonderful to see. But I don't think we will see that.

I do have hope that eastern Europeans might hold on to their lands and run the invaders out. I think Poland and Hungry might be best served to ally themselves with Russia.

By the way, Russia is hated for being the most white nation on the earth --- plus it is honoring the traditional and Christian religion. That sort of thing just infuriates the left.

Blogger Azure Amaranthine December 29, 2017 6:09 AM

Every single time I see the word populism, my brain is translating as "the democracy we don't like".

Leftist party "Podemos" in Spain is not nationalist. They are globalists, communists at heart and pro massive immigration. They call fascist or franquista every person who says is a Spanish patriot.

If we accept the use of the term populism given lately in the media, they are a very different branch of populism, defending completely different ideas.

This article is not very precise mixing new wave of nationalism in European nations with a communist party like this, just because "populism".

I agree that there are common interests but there's a lot of history to get over before it gets to the point of "ally."

The members of the 1956 Hungarian water polo team are national heroes to this day because of the "blood in the water" Olympic semi-final match against the USSR.

Note that the current Polish government - with all his vices - have not, until now, sent special service to raid the HQ of the opposition newspaper. It has not, until now, talked the owners of the newspaper to change the chief editor (because he criticised the government too much). With all his vices, the main vice of the current government is that he has stopped to publish advertisements in some newspapers and instead started to publish them in other; and he purged TV from the leftards (somehow, the clearing of the right-wingers by the previous government was not noticed as attack on the free press).

On FB some of people from the left seem to think that the recent fine imposed on TVN is "undemocratic" and is "attack on free press". Somehow they do think that the fine imposed during the previous regime on TV Trwam for the same stupid reasons ("inciting the violence and violating the objectivity") was perfectly OK, because, hey, THEY were not objective and were incite to violence, while TVN was just objectively reporting that current government is totally evil and should be toppled!

But the people are waking up to the B.S. and realizing that it's just another tool to try to beat the dirt people back down where they "belong". Just more fake news.

The EU was created to serve several different agendas, though the main one is to restore the Aristocrats to control of Europe. The upper classes clearly view the rise of Voting as being an affront to their rule, but this wasn't something that was going to be easily undone. It had to be step by slow step.

The other part of the EU is that it's to exist to extract more & more wealth from the peasants. The wars even going into WW1 had drained the resources of the Elites, then WW1 & 2 slaughtered them. They needed to recapture their position, which is why so much of the EU operates the way it does.

You can see this in how Greece was turned into a German colony. Can't have people deciding for themselves, now can you.

It will be war in Europe. Leftists never give up power without bloodshed and the globalists in Brussels are no different. False flags will occur until one "sticks" as a causus belli. I suspect the most likely one to do so will try to blame Russia in the context of a revived USSR taking over a former Warsaw Pact country (Hungary?) in order to have an excuse to get NATO (the USA) to provide the muscle for their war. Right now we are still in the stage of demonizing Russia in the globalist press in order to have a base of support for belief in the false flag and ultimately, support for their war (and crushing of anti-globalist elements as subversive, pro-Russian forces).

It's enough to make me wonder if generations hence will talk about Western civilization being saved at "the gates of Moscow" or somesuch. Sad.

The Islamic Invasion: Not Judaism - Leftism
http://obamasez.blogspot.com/2017/12/the-islamic-invasion-not-judaism-leftism.html

Teaser quote:

100% ANTI-SPECTRE

So this Jew states without reservation:
1. The flow of Islamic migrants must be stopped cold – a good start would be to eliminate the enormous (and economy-crushing) financial incentives to move
2. Barriers must be built: walls manned with armed guards and permission to shoot at those attempting to breach that wall. Turn back the boats and, if necessary, sink them; survivors forcibly returned to their origin country. As a step after that, bomb the harbors from where the boats leave. As a last resort, lethal measures against invaders must be used - buzzards and sharks have to eat too
3. In parallel with these efforts social media must be pushed to show that the Hijra invasion is no longer welcome in Western countries
4. Politicians (like this one) that want this flow to continue must be removed from office; peacefully if possible, but it may be necessary to break eggs to make omelets
5. Muslims that do not openly and provably assimilate to Western culture and secular government must also be sent back, by force majeure if necessary

Digging just a bit further, I saw a NYT article from about 2014 that was biographical about (((Mounk))) describing his experiences as a youth he came to identify as a member of a tribe before identifying as German. It appears like he and others are doing a version of Taqiyya on behalf of their own group. Lying for one's own group is a great career path, it does not seem to have hurt his ascendancy in academia or the media.
Btw, the report mentioned undermining democratic institutions, the media and judiciary. "Undermining the judiciary" means pushing back against judges that are activist on behalf of the EU. "Being against freedom of the press" - criticising journalists that lie on behalf of the EU.

Of course, forced immigration and multi-ethnic societies are never EXTREME, but the mark of a sane and even-handed wisdom. When people try to frame such policies as being on the "right side of history", I want to ask them how they are so in touch with what the future will be. Maybe because they are molding it to their desired configuration, a configuration that removes White Europeans from having an effective political power?

The left's idea of an independent judiciary is similar to their idea of tenured professors: An opportunity to stick their ideologues in places where they can't be touched by prosocial cleaning crews. Leftists like Blair, seem to have absolutely no problem holding two or more contradictory opinions at once. They seem to have no genuine, logic-based, robustly structured, consistent argument matrix.

One minute they can be screaming for "more rights for women" and the very next minute be arguing for the importation of a religion that treats women like dirt!

One minute they can be advocating for wave after wave of mass cheap-labour immigration, and the next minute be terribly terribly terribly upset that wages are falling.

One minute they can be screaming about how black lives really really matter, and the next minute be refusing point blank to address the greatest cause of unlawful deaths in the black community.

But whatever the subject, their language is always rhetorical, emotive, sensual, impulsive, hysterical, accusative; but never rational.

It's no coincidence that it's always the Left we see rioting in the streets, violently closing down debates and physically attacking their political opponents.

When your entire world view can not withstand the slightest critical scrutiny without unravelling, violence and censorship really are your only refuge.

Blogger tublecane December 29, 2017 1:34 PM

They may as well say democracy is threatening democracy. Because the point is simply that a lot of election results are unsavory to them, and they think the trend shall lead to bad governance. "Democracy" is an absolute good rhetorically. It means "good government," even though the elite doesn't actually believe in democracy. They try their hardest to institute government that doesn't require popular input. Elections are PR.

They have a dirty word for the goings-on of democracy: "politics." Politics must never decide anything, because what happens if politicians go against elite opinion? Eegads, we can't allow that.

It is possible for popular movements to threaten democracy, if they happen to be anti-democratic. Like for instance the elites. I think they project their anti-democratic opinions onto others, and assume everyone who ever gains power shall attempt to stay in power forever. Because that's what they're doing.

Blogger tublecane December 29, 2017 1:40 PM

Blogger tublecane December 29, 2017 2:19 PM

@46-Notice how they give us handy guides for what's important to them, i.e. institutions they control. Attack the media, judiciary, education, etc., and they freak out.

Unions used to be of primary importance, but they'vr sorta fallen by the wayside. Unless they're public sector. The Permanent Government is important, of course, though not so much the military. The institution of family? Yuck. Let it die.

Elections are only important if their side wins. Otherwise, they're all but illegitimate.

Then again, some institutions of great importance they're secretive about. Possibly large chunks of them aren't in-the-know about the importance of banks, or relevant to this discussion think tanks.

You don't usually hear them talking up intelligence services, but when they cast doubt on Trump's election, for instance, or we go through a Snowden crisis, suddenly they're trustworthy.

And Russia is not "hated for being the most white nation on the earth --- plus it is honoring the traditional and Christian religion" but because it tries to be a geopolitical power.

There was a book I read in 2005, claiming "The New World Order Is Finished," as was based on the simple premise that Russia, India, and India had all broken their promises/alliance with the NWO by becoming more Nationalistic or at least showing what they had already intended. The NWO was irritated at China and India, but absolutely saw the Russia Nationalism as a betrayal. So Russia is hated for turning on the NWO, simple.

I read that book over ten years ago, and cannot even remember ho wrote it, just the premise. Yeah, the NWO cannot tolerate Nationalism anywhere.

@tublecane:

I think you're on the level when you point out, indirectly, that the Left has a LONG GAME.

These traitors don't think like normal people. David Horowitz, founder of frontpagemag.com, has pointed out that these people are missionaries. That's exactly right. They have a utopian vision and are working towards it heedless of setbacks, the Will of the People, or anything else.

Daniel Greenfield pointed out that the Left has long game electorally:

Seconding that are Ann Coulter and Mark Steyn, both opponents of this demographic tide. As are many others, e.g., Pamela Geller and Dennis Prager.

I'll bet every single person in favor of this, whether Jewish or not, is a liberal. THAT is the common denominator.
