Deputy Director down and out

The Deputy Director of the FBI is just stepping aside for no particular reason... the day after his boss read the 4-page memo about the "secret society". That seems likely:
FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, who has been attacked by President Donald Trump, stepped down Monday, multiple sources familiar with the matter told NBC News.

McCabe will remain on the FBI payroll until he is eligible to retire with full benefits in mid-March, the sources said.

One source said McCabe was exercising his retirement eligibility and characterized his decision as "stepping aside."

@19 "MilTranny showing up to spite TRUMP"

What I don't get is: the COMMANDER IN CHIEF OF THE ENTIRE U.S. MILITARY said: "NO trannies in the military, effective now." And the JCS says -- "gotohell, we're still lettin' 'em in." HOW can this be happening?!

If the CinC says: "no," then, NO it is!

(And why Why WHY did the God Emperor just let that slide?! That's what worries me constantly! He lets judges literally subordinate to his orders hamstring him; he lets military brass IGNORE his (entirely lawful) orders! And DOES NOTHING!)

Even 4D chess shouldn't let you appear massively, multiply, weak to subordinates! Please, President Trump -- STAND UP!

What bugs me is that he'll be allowed to retire with full benefits and suffer no real consequences for his crimes. Additionally the swamp critters still in charge at the FBI will get to name his replacement so nothing has changed.

Who knows he'll probably end up as a consultant for Muller in trying to hang Trump.

In order for the normies to get it they need to see that every time TRUMP is opposed it's by a gay/jew/shitskin/tranny. Sanctuary cities get to ignore the law but try to keep trannies out of NC bathrooms & bathhouse Barry comes down like ___

I am glad they are going to cover the tranny date to SOTU because it will discredit the democrat rebuttal. Shitlibs don't see anything wrong with it & think having a tranny soldier opposing TRUMP is a good thing. They don't even realize that the highest ranking black woman in NOW, decided not to vote for Hillary because of trannies.

If you want to get techie about it, POTUS is CiC of nothing, unless, and when called into the actual (declaration of war declared by congress) service of the United States. But let's not let those little consteetootional techies get in the way. There are always ways to bend the rules.

Blogger Markku January 29, 2018 5:57 PM

Sorry about that. I'm deleting old comments from 2012 to make the blog backup smaller. It's about two gigabytes now. I've had a couple of accidents with the UNBELIEVABLY awful interface. It's so very, very easy to accidentally remove 100 newest comments, instead of 100 oldest.

Blogger gunner451 January 29, 2018 5:59 PM

Animal Mother,

To date I have not heard anyone in power even suggest that anyone involved with this will be indicted. The most they say is "people should lose their jobs". So I won't hold my breath waiting for indictments or even outright firings.

Based on the behavior of the deleting, I'm almost certain that Blogger's internal format is an actual 2 gigabyte xml file, that is directly manipulated every time you delete any of the over 800,000 comments.

Markku: if that's the case, it's absurd, and yet another reason why idiot millenials shouldn't be allowed to program. "Elegant" solutions for tiny problems don't necessarily scale.

Blogger Azure Amaranthine January 29, 2018 6:14 PM

The hell you say?

Blogger Markku January 29, 2018 6:14 PM

It takes several minutes to delete 100 comments. However, the ONE thing you can do incredibly fast, is to download the xml backup. It comes as fast as your bandwidth allows. I'm getting it several megabytes - yes, bytes, not bits - per second. Hence, I'm pretty sure it's just handing over a copy of the internal format.

Blogger Markku January 29, 2018 6:15 PM

And they can get away with this until the blog reaches the size of Vox Popoli, because Google just has such absolutely preposterous amounts of computer hardware.

Make no mistake, McCabe was "invited" to tender his retirement papers. Normally, a Civil Servant retiring out will do so at the end of the month or the first three days of the next month - in order to collect a pension for the new month. And they'll hoard annual leave and cash it in. McCabe was canned.

gunner 451, can't happen easily or soon. Anything within the next 12 years takes him and others out for breaking statutes, not regulations.

Under FERS, he must be 50 with 20 yrs service to be eligible for early retirement. Probably on terminal leave to stay on the books until he's 50, then try to crawl out. Hell of a pension hit, he'd better have maxed out his TSP for 20 years. His normal retirement age is 56 yrs 8 mos (born in 1968) with 30 years; loses a third of his pension on early retirement, unless it's deferred until age 62. Scorecard is on www.opm.gov. TSP isn't available without penalty until he's 59 1/2. Unless there's a bunch of family money, and not something which magically appeared in the last five years ...

He's trying to crawl out of the ring without being noticed. Is there a folding chair handy? A tag-teamer to haul him back in by the ankles?

I'm visualizing a small ungulant and a large, coarsely threaded screw.

FBI Director Chris Wray is said to have read the memo. Within hours he meets with McCabe. Wray drops the hammer.

But no mention that Democrats voted party line.... Like on Obamacare.

Guess party line votes are evil and bad only when Republicans do it.

@10-You fail at constitutional interpretation. The president is commander in chief of the U.S. military--which doesn't disappear when we're not in the midst of a declared war--always.

It's merely the state militias which have to be called into service for him to assume command.

What few people in the media seem to have noticed (or are remarkably quiet about) is tracing the lines all the way. The multitude of scandals, illegal operation and other activities which are being revealed all lead back to the top of the Democrat Party, and of course who was the head of the Party during the time all these things were being done or set into motion?

So while TGE may be marshalling forces and executing a plan to drain the swamp (and it will have to be multi-level and multi-variant simply due to the nature of the problem), there still remains the issue of how to deal with Obama and Hillary Clinton. Arresting them and putting them in prison, however justified, will only make them martyrs for the Progressive cause, and prevent any handover of power ever again, since the outgoing President risks being arrested and imprisoned on bogus charges (much like the end state of the Roman Republic). President Trump's goal is to Make America Great Again, but he is probably not keen to see it dissolve in the flames of a hot civil war.

Q. Which branch of government is the military in?
A. Executive Branch

Q. Who has ultimate control of all aspects of the executive branch?
A. The President.

Enlisted report to NCOs who report to officers who report to flag officers who report to the senior flag officer of the service, who report to the Secretary of (Army / Navy / Air Force), who report to the President.

The chain of command is clear, and it exists at all times, war or no war.
