CPAC converged

CPAC underlines my point about the total worthlessness of the so-called "conservative movement":
The Stream has been warning Christians that our religious liberty is in danger. Both Maggie Gallagher and John Zmirak pointed to the crucial upcoming race in Pennsylvania. There the GOP establishment has endorsed a candidate who sponsored a pro-trans “bathroom bill” with no protections for dissenters.

Such disasters don’t come from nowhere. They emerge because the conservative movement itself is undergoing an LGBT-inspired purge.

Consider the phone call Dan Schneider made to Brian Camenker in early February 2018. Dan Schneider is the Executive Director of the Conservative Political Action Conference. (“CPAC” wields great influence in politics. Just how great? Donald J. Trump is speaking at their yearly convention!)

Brian Camenker is the president of Mass Resistance. That’s a decades-old network of grassroots organizers. His groups fight radical left-wing movements in schools, local communities, and state policies. You may not have heard of Mass Resistance because its chapters focus on local activism, not always elections. They tend not to congregate on Twitter but encompass many people. Mass Resistance works with the folks who got Donald J. Trump elected.

Mr. Camenker had applied to run a table at CPAC’s big conference. CPAC approved his application and took his payment. Then about ten days before CPAC, Mr. Schneider told Mr. Camenker that he had changed his mind. He unilaterally rescinded the contract between Mass Resistance and CPAC.

Why? Mr. Camenker opposed transgender and homosexual curriculum for children in 2015. He used language that is less than perfectly … winsome. How does Mr. Schneider know about these comments? Because he found a video clip online. That’s thanks to gay activists who have indexed Mass Resistance as a “hate group.” So gay activists are now vetting who can speak at “conservative” events. Isn’t that special?

Mr. Schneider has barred Camenker him from exhibiting at CPAC. It seems that CPAC wants more gay lobbyists with deep pockets. So CPAC is now stiff-arming religious folks who want the public library to stop pushing sodomy on four-year-olds.

CPAC has come a long way since it worried about including gay Republican groups like the Log Cabins. Now CPAC serves as their enforcement wing. It silences conservatives for stating that homosexuality or transgenderism might be objectionable.
Which, of course, is why they should have kept the Log Cabin Republicans out in the first place. Convergence always begins with foolish inclusivity. Sacrifice one principle, and it is only a matter of time before you sacrifice the rest of them.

Alt-Right or nothing, Christians. This proves, again, that there is absolutely no point in relying upon the conservatives to accomplish anything except your surrender. Conservatives have COMPLETELY failed in literally every possible way. It was a movement that was always destined to fail, since it was never anything more than a posture and a pose. About the only progressive objective that conservatives haven't embraced is your disarmament.

And I wouldn't count that out in the aftermath of the next school shooting, considering the way in which their donors are threatening to stop writing checks if they don't cave on gun control too.

I am proud to have never described myself as a conservative. People used to wonder why I didn't, but I trust that my reasoning is more readily apparent today.

It should be obvious to even the most dim-witted that should a politician capitulate on such an easy issue, that same politician wouldn't fight for matters truly paramount to the average citizen, notably maintaining acceptable standards of living, heritage, rule of law etc.

A conservative is just a 20 year ago liberal.

So with the presidency, control of both houses of Congress, a massive advantage in statewide offices throughout the country, and a political climate in which the left is routinely baited into showing its fangs, the conservative establishment is giving concessions. Let's be thankful that we didn't have leaders like this in the past. These guys would have surrendered to the British after Washington took Yorktown.

The Mayflower - Alt Right of their generation - had somewhere to run.

the cornered minority of totally right has been denied landing rights everywhere. Maybe Hungary/ Poland?

I think TotallyRight trumps AltRight. Alt Right suggests a feasibly credible other right. There isn't one.

They should have kept out the Log Cabin Republicans as such, but allowed anyone to attend even if they were one. LGBTQ tends to destroy the host faster than all but the most virulent strains of Feminism.

How many more election cycles before these losers start endorsing pedophilia?

Blogger Thucydides February 18, 2018 7:17 PM

Sad to see how totally clueless and tone deaf they are, especially given the massive sea changes that accompanied the Trump Candidacy and Presidency. But then again, they are inside the beltway bubble as well, so probably have just as much view of the real America and the Democrats, Bureaucrats, Media and entertainment industries inside their coastal enclaves.

I'm glad to see the new building process going on outside these bubbles.

After the whole business with the tantrums surrounding GOProud a few years back (which I seem to remember Joseph Farah VERY much being against their inclusion), this latest stunt doesn’t surprise me. CPAC honestly hasn’t been all that relevant in years. Like most things here in Mordor-on-the-Potomac, it’s just an excuse to get drunk. Better things to do with my time than worry about being with the “cool” kids.

Learned years ago that cool is overrated.

@3:

These guys would have surrendered to the British after Washington took Yorktown.

@DonReynolds made the point a few days ago that the 'conservatives' of yesteryear (that is, Loyalists) evacuated with the British, fled to the frontier, or faced the new justice system of the revolutionaries.

A "conservative" believes in "tradition" (sort of) and not principles. A man can not stay centered in truth without core principles.

So we see the conservative of 2018 is vastly different than the conservative of 1965. Yet both would claim that they represent conservatism and I agree. Both are just men without core beliefs.

There are core principles that can not be traded away for convince. For example, one should not betray his nation to invite invaders to come and replace his extended family. That is madness -- yet conservatives are doing that right along with the lefties.

CONservatism is simply the more rightwing half of the liberal establishment. It's the Clinton Archipelago that we see at vividmaps.com/2016/12/trumpland-and-clinton-archipelago.html that is their mental political homeland.

Great Patriotic America, i.e. Trumpland, is an alien world where people value free will, individuality, self reliance, family, nationalism, etc.
They also understand that heterosexuality is far healthier and infinitely more valuable to society than any variation of homosexuality and this reality should be reflected in politics.

The GOP had better learn that the more they reject the progressive cancer of the CONservatives and, instead, align themselves with the heart and soul of Trumpland, the more victorious they will be.

Convergence always begins with foolish inclusivity. Sacrifice one principle, and it is only a matter of time before you sacrifice the rest of them.

A riveting account of this process at First Things is documented here: http://thermidormag.com/when-fr-neuhaus-saw-cthulhu/

Having abandoned Christ to gain "an inclusive conservativism" they lost what they hoped to conserve. Lesson learned.

ESR's The Cathedral and the Bazaar applies to political/social strategy too. CPAC is a cathedral, the Alt-Right is a Bazaar.

Is this new? I will leave that question to the historically literate.

How can the Bazaar avoid subversion by the Cathedral? Trump's #FakeNews offensive gives one example.

If Q us legit, then the Cathedral has tools we have never conceived of.

Truth and our devotion to it repels them...

What else...

@16 I'm just under 40, and, if anything, all of their nasty political behavior has only hardened the beliefs I was brought up with.

And good God, we tried to warn everyone! We said, you know, if you normalize homosexuality, all kinds of other sexual perversions are just around the corner. There's a reason we have these walls up. You have no idea what you might be letting loose. And boy were we proven right, but no one, no one acknowledges that.

Blogger The Deplorable Podunk Ken Ramsey February 19, 2018 2:10 AM

It is indeed remarkable how far and how fast conservatism has utterly collapsed. Ronald Reagan is the standard bearer for the movement, absolutely nobody emerged to carry on. Hope arose during the Gingrich Revolution, soon to be dashed. That was 1994. And then the entire intellectual movement simply evaporated. Conservatism has been a zombie ever since.

That's harrowing, because the Left is vile and malignant. And it is the only coherent force that is fully organized today. To our peril.

Blogger Resident Moron™ February 19, 2018 2:16 AM

About the only progressive objective that conservatives haven't embraced is your disarmament.

Another way of looking at this is that the 2nd Amendment is the only one Americans have really cared about. All the others have been utterly broken long ago, while this one has been on a much slower trajectory to corruption and abandonment as the resistance has been much stronger.

I think it will take a True Conservative (you know, a Mitt Romney or a Jeb Bush) to put the final nail in the. corpse of American freedom.

What gives me optimism is more African Americans shifting to the right. I prefer the term -right- to conservative. That will give them what they need what they dont have now. What gives me even more optimism is that i think that shift is inevitable.

Blogger The Pepe report February 19, 2018 8:22 AM

Re: African Americans shifting right. And not a superficial shift the right movement needs African Americans that seriously and sincerely believe in the principles and there are some and there will be more....thats why i get upset when i see the alt right come down too hard on Africans. Not to say that you cant criticize Africans but the n word has to removed from the dictionary and gamma white men venting and ranting on the internet blaming Jews and Africans for his own problems that bs has to go too.

Blogger tz February 19, 2018 8:31 AM

African Americans aren't shifting right. Go back and check Alabama Moore v. Jones race. Well, 1% to 2% is doubling but irrelevant. In California, blacks did vote down "Gay Marriage", but a Gay judge overruled them. They are not shifting right, but the more intelligent realize that they don't want to live near places undergoing zimbabwification. Especially when the EBT cards stop working.

"It seems that CPAC wants more gay lobbyists with deep pockets."

I have never believed this. Even if all the gay activists in America were millionaires (and they're not), their combined donations would not be that significant, given their small percentage of the population. No, this is all part of Lucifer's plan to get the sons and daughters of Adam to violate The Law, thus bringing judgement upon themselves.

Pepe report, do you honestly expect Africans to care about Americans when Americans refuse to care about ourselves? If we punish our own for insulting them unilateraly, what unilateral concession do you expect from them? @43

Should have told Vox that, since he stopped calling himself libertardian a while back, muh nigg.

Though, if he can say he's proud to never have been a conservative, I figure I can be proud to have never been a libertardian, doubly so, since it only took me less than a year to figure out I wasn't retarded enough to be libertardian, while Vox was chugging down the kool-aid so hard it took him for fucking ever to realize libertarians, at their best, were just lefties without the conviction necessary to seize power and crush everyone else like their statist brothers or else were at least every bit the filthy liars conservatives are who failed to maintain liberty (and would fail if they actually got their way) just as much as conservatives failed to maintain, well, anything, as Vox has rightfully been saying even back before he wised up to the libertardian sham.

Blogger peppermint88 February 19, 2018 2:50 PM

Sort of an unfair reading of libertarianism, it was what people said when they wanted to say they liked civilization and didn't want to take on the entire system all at once by themselves. Libertarians can be excused for their lack of grand sweeping success by never really trying anything other than pushing single issues like 2A or reducing spending or opposing Obamacare.

Blogger Ominous Cowherd February 19, 2018 3:27 PM

"... the right movement needs African Americans that seriously and sincerely believe in the principles and there are some and there will be more."

There are some, there will be more. So what? Who cares about 10% of 10%? Even if that sub-minority is reliably on our side, why do we need them?

Blogger CM February 19, 2018 8:27 PM

Another way of looking at this is that the 2nd Amendment is the only one Americans have really cared about. All the others have been utterly broken long ago, while this one has been on a much slower trajectory to corruption and abandonment as the resistance has been much stronger.

Cop shootings are going to accelerate that trajectory.

Conservatives are still far too defensive of police that they will hammer anyone who questions the shooting of someone who is simply suspected of being armed.

The more they defend trigger happy and "reasonably" cowardly cops, the less of a 2nd amendment we have.

What right to bear arms have you if mere suspicion of carrying gets you shot?
