Monday Morning Gun Control

Peter King of SI's MMQB refuses to stick to sports.
10. I think these are my other thoughts of the week:

a. Highlight of Saturday, for me, was this incredible performance and message from the Marjory Stoneman Douglas Drama Club and student choir, singing a song they wrote called “Shine.”

b. “We’re done with all your little games. We’re tired of hearing we’re too young to ever make a change.”

c. Play that song. Turn it up.

d. What kids. What young adults. They are just awesome.

e. And you, Gregg Popovich. You’re a great example of a smart man with a lot on the line saying the heck with it; I’m going to say what needs to be said for the good of the future of our country. On Sunday, he said, “I’m sure most everybody’s got to be unbelievably proud and excited about those students and what they’ve done, because our politicians have certainly sat on their thumbs and just hidden. It’s almost like a dereliction of duty.” Almost? No. It is. Bravo, Popovich. Bravo.

f. Story of the Week: What Hope Hicks Knows, by Olivia Nuzzi of New York magazine. Great inside story of the White House communications director’s life in the White House.

g. “Hope! Hopey! Hopester!” What a memorable scene.

h. Political Story of the Week: an op-ed column in the Washington Post, by the summarily fired FBI veteran Andrew McCabe. A detailed first-person from one of the casualties of the implosion of our political system.

i. Gesture of the Week: Patriots owner Robert Kraft providing his team plane to fly students and families from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School to Washington on Thursday, and then back home, after Saturday’s massive rally against gun violence.

j. No matter your politics, that’s a wonderful thing Kraft did. Because no matter what your politics, it is downright insane that semi-automatic killing machines, such as the kind that killed 17 people at the Florida high school, can be owned by average American citizens.
The irony of the owner of a New England team called "the Patriots" funding the transportation of dozens of anti-2nd Amendment activists to Washington DC in order to protest the Constitutional rights of Americans should not be lost on you, and makes clear the obvious difference between Americans and Fake Americans like (((Kraft))). I emailed Mr. King in response to his foray into gun control activism, and would encourage you to send him a similar message.
In response to your public support for violating American rights, I remind you of the words of Samuel Adams.

“We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.”

Go to Mexico. Go to Canada. Go and live somewhere else, because you are not an American. There are literally dozens of other countries without the 2nd Amendment. Go live in one of them if you fear Americans exercising their unalienable rights, because you are not one of us.
“You are not one of us” and “you have to go back” are two of the most effective rhetorical killshots you can utilize against an SJW, because they weigh on the SJW's constant subconscious fear of being rejected. It's not a coincidence that these are considered to be some of Sam Adams's most memorable words.

Don't be surprised if King responds, angrily and offended, to at least one email expressing that sentiment in his Tuesday mailbag column.

While we engage in trade negotiations, as part of any deal we should also send those who wish the US were more like Canada or Europe to those places

Kraft should stay in Israel the next time he takes a planeload of people over.

Now of course no one on the right will bother to ask old virtue signaling Bob Kraft how many of his players own Glocks and with the dastardly high capacity "clips" which fire like machine guns. And does Bob want those players to disarm, no true conservative man of principles would dare ask such a question.

"No matter your politics" is always a preface to some left-wing appeal to emotion. Maybe it's not dishonest, and just a proof of that "one screen / two movies" thing - they really do just see the world that way. Their feels are just empirical facts to them.

Despite early claims the rally was not the largest in Washington ever at 800,000, the real numbers didn't even meet expectations at around 200,000. Despite massive media support it was a flip. Of course if the Dems do decide gun grabbing is to be the central plank of theit midterm campaign the republicans should have no trouble holding congress.

So, 16 year olds are a reliable source for moral guidance on firearms, but 20 year olds cannot be trusted to purchase firearms? Erring on the side of safety, let's set the voting age at 21 also.

I would suggest that the qualifications for voting for a candidate for an office should be identical to the qualifications for holding the office. I.e, to vote for president, one must be a natural born citizen, at least 35 years of age, at least 14 years a resident ...

Ain't that the thing about Leftists. They can't go where they'll be happy, they have to change the place they're in. There's no shortage of places with the gun control they want. Chicago, New York, California, Great Britain... They can move and enjoy the "safety" they think disarmament will bring. Same with every other social policy of theirs.

But they don't. Because a) places that implement Leftist politics turn into hellholes, and b) Leftists are driven insane by the idea someone is allowed to disagree with them.

Enough so that finding his email address is surprisingly challenging for a guy with a syndicated column on SI.

Maybe he'd almost be better addressed via twitter.

Back when whites were 80 to 90 percent of the people in this country, we proudly insisted this country was a Republic. Now that the white population has been watered down with foreign and domestic ethnics, we begin to hear more and more nonsense about the US being a democracy...which it never was, nor is it now.

I suspect the Women's March (and now the Children's March) to be meta expressions of this "America is a democracy" nonsense. Fortunately or unfortunately, the constitutional rights of citizens are not the subject of democratic consent of any majority and changing the Constitution is difficult (to say the least). Remember, the Equal Rights Amendment failed to pass, with the biggest constituency in this country....women.

As the white population continues to grow....as it does every year....and that increase is overwhelmed by legal and illegal foreign citizens being retread as "New Americans", the white percentage of the US population will continue to decline. This is why we keep hearing the radical Leftists scream about democracy (and equality).

Pure rubbish.

For sure, no one under 30 should be allowed to vote for any office.

My belief is that it should be restricted to those who have positively contributed to taxes. With the exception of military/vets. Govt workers don't contribute positively as they simply pay back some of the taxpayer money.

constitutional rights of citizens are not the subject of democratic consent of any majority and changing the Constitution is difficult (to say the least).

I hear the Supreme court is the final decider of law like when the Boy Scouts won in 2000 for who they could admit, now over 9000 (((lawfare))) attacks later they were forced to take trannies in 2017.

Semi related: The week before the gun control march had a moslem shooting cops in San Fran,
& a gaynigger raping frat boys at gunpoint. Frat listed looks to be all white+ Christian. If a STR8 white man raped anyone at gunpoint it would be bigger fake news than the gun control rally!

Blogger StrongCoffee61 March 26, 2018 6:50 PM

The Leftist anti-gun politics are simply about reducing American's self reliance and converging them into dependence on the cancerous progressive black hole of the state.

It has nothing to do with reducing gun violence.

There are two changes that would significantly reduce gun violence in America.

1) Radically reduce immigration.

This would hugely increase the labor participation rate resulting in large gains in net wealth, particularly for blacks, mestizos, and young males, and a busier and work tired population that would be less likely to get into trouble.

2) A significant drop in unwed pregnancies.

There was a study which showed that black children who grow up in the old fashioned out -of-date nuclear family had a poverty rate of 7%, whereas White privileged children who grow up in the cool hip progressive single mom household had a poverty rate is 22%.

Like feminism, the anti-gun politics is a Trojan Horse for turning free people into serfs for the State.

This is what is known as a limited modified hangout. Somebody was following up and discovered he was lying about being there. They contacted him to ask for comment, so he got friendly reporters at a national news network to let him put it out there immediately, without notice he had been lying, and without any question of his sincerity or honesty. When somebody else reports on it, it will be "old news" and dismissed as irrelevant.

Blogger Jack Amok March 27, 2018 12:53 AM

CBS? I've noticed CBS running a lot of almost Alt-Right stories, like this one. I was wondering if they were getting desperate enough to - for lack of a better option - try telling the truth.

But Snidely's take is probably right. They're the outlet of choice for the Limited Modified Hangout because nobody watches them. If you want to bury a news story, either release it at 5pm on Friday, or on CBS News. Either way, nobody will notice...

Poverty is not gun violence. There is one single way to end gun violence in the USA. Get rid of all the blacks and Hispanics.

The white gun violence rate in the USA is virtually identical to the gun violence rate in Holland.
