Please to paint target on your chest

The sports media is getting frustrated about the way in which NFL teams have learned not to hand them the hammer with which to hit them:
Let’s get it all out in the open. Regardless of how you feel about a player’s right to kneel during the national anthem, two men have peacefully risked their livelihood and dreams to prove a point they feel is vital. It’s time for the coaches and general managers who have enjoyed playing both sides of the issue to throw their cards on the table, too. Don’t leave an amateur psychologist like me to guess, because here are my notes:

You might be scared that a billionaire owner will fire you if you press them too hard on signing Reid or Kaepernick and, like them you will be unemployed.

• You might feel like signing and supporting players unafraid of speaking their mind will lead to you losing command inside the facility, and you will no longer be able to walk around pretending you are George S Patton in Nike khakis.

• You might resist having your opinion out there because you don’t want good players who care about social justice issues but only speak about them in societally approved ways to not come to your team in free agency.

Don’t leave it to your favorite reporter to clean it up on television via “sources,” either.

We might not like the answers, but what about this flimsy, hollow middle ground feels good to anyone right now?
No, let's not. If the sports media wanted honest answers, it should have it should never have started prosecuting and calling for the disemployment of those whose answers it didn't like. They destroyed the very information flows upon which they relied; if you bite the hand that feeds you, you probably shouldn't expect dinner tomorrow.

The minute any team official admitted that they will not sign Kaepernick or Reid due to the fact that they are known troublemakers who put politics ahead of their jobs, the entire sports media will tee off on them and sic the social media mob on them. Which is why no team official who cares about keeping his job will ever admit that.

Nicely summarized and no need for nuance on this one.

As for being brave and putting themselves at risk, true if they understood what the risk was. And it reminds me of a comment made by Rush Limbaugh. When a young and idealistic person told Rush as a point of pride that he wanted to "Change the world," the response he got from Rush was "So did Adolf Hitler." You know, it ain't automatically good.

With this one you get controversy and PR headaches included.

There were enough problems - and fines - when Dallas players wanted to remember the Police officers assassinated by BLM.

Imagine if a player held up a 2nd Amendment! sign during the Anthem. They would call to get rid of him.

Do all the politics and culture you want, but youmight not want to get disemployed from your day job by doing it on the clock.

Hey, why don't the ESPN talking heads stop reporting sports and go on SJW tirades instead of reporting scores, players, and other real sports news, and what would it do to the ratings? Oh, wait...

"two men have peacefully risked their livelihood and dreams to prove a point they feel is vital."

Yes, yes, "they peacefully risked" blah blah blah -- AND THEY LOST! When you lose, you lose what you gambled with. They did not and do not have a winning hand. All the whining by the press and the SJWs that they "should" have won mean nothing, except that they are sore losers!

If they did not want to "risk peacefully" something they truly could not afford to lose. Oops. Too bad, made a mistake. Welcome to reality!

Reality is really getting hard on our lil' reporter friends of late.

Not as bad as Hillary Clinton, not yet.

Notice how the reporter uses the word "Let's" at the beginning. He doesn't have skin in the game in this instance he's using it to try to show camaraderie with a very people he is targeting. He desperately wants the story, it's completely self-serving for the media they don't give two craps about any of them. They just want a news cycle and things to talk about it with more interviews and people watching their stuff.

IMO the only way thru these days of the being dominated by the SJW cult (Jonestown redux) is for the cult to self destruct.

Conservatives will have to shelve their egos about their capacity to reason with the cult.

How about Tim Tebow starts "Christian Lives Matter" and asks NFL players line up in a cross to cross themselves before every game.

"What? we care about the prosecution of Christians worldwide! You can't be against that, can you?"

The never-ending shakedown racket by the perpetually-grieved, supported by the professional liars.

The hypocrisy of these people is breathtaking but totally unsurprising .

Notice how the reporter uses the word "Let's" at the beginning.

Let's. Let us...

He's appealing to a common bond in a story about people who went out of their way to declare they didn't have and didn't want a common bond with the rest of us. Morons like Peter King still think they're living on the one way street where they get to reject their responsibilities as members of a common society but hold the rest of us to ours.

But then that's what journalism is anyway - two-faced liars without any loyalty - so they think that little dishonest two-step is normal.

It's a two way street now, bozo. You gotta look both ways or you'll get run over.

...or, and bear with me now, because this sounds just crazy:

-You might not want to deal with politics and opinion, because your job is to manage grown men who play a GAME, not make up a senate, and all this political BS detracts and distracts from the game.

I suspect, right there is the Bill Belichick philosophy.

This is exactly how it works with hiring and renting. Because of the law and social appearances, no can admit the real reason why they didn't hire this undesirable minority, or rent to this other undesirable minority. But everyone with a functioning brain can understand the reason: because most people want to avoid the trouble it will inevitably cause them if they do. Thankfully credit checks and background checks serve as a useful proxy and are acceptable under the law (for now) to use as a an official reason. The problem is the NFL cannot rely on anything of a similar sort because many of the players are as bad or worse, but have the good sense to know who signs their paychecks.

@11 I've just been inspiried to create SJW Bulverism (see CS Lewis) BASIC.

LET Man = Woman (this only does the assignment if( Man > Woman )).

A simple MAX algorithm:

For Man = Beta TO Alpha STEP onthem
IF (Income > Current) THEN
Date = Man
ELSE
Date = Man
ENDIF
NEXT Man

WHILE (NOT ALARM(bioclock)) DO
CALL CockCarousel;
ENDWHILE

And I'm not sure if it is OT, but...
Someone finds Chick Fil A "creepy".

Maybe someone should Franchise Comet pizza, ping-pong, and duct-tape (we will make your children be still during dinner!).

Perhaps we should crowdfund Chick-Fil-A and Hobby Lobby to open in blue areas just to cause psychic concussions.

Social justice a lie. They don't care about justice. They only care about identity politics

It's really surprising the lack of resourse stewardship these people have...but then again, I can't remember a case where Marxists were ever concerned with resource stewardship. They're worse than the average Chinese capitalist.

Hunter-Gatherer mindset. The Universe provides, you harvest. If you run out of stuff to harvest here, you walk until you find some place the Universe has provided more...
