Just the beginning

Stefan Halper was not the only spy that the Federal agencies attempted to insert into the Trump campaign:
At least one additional government "informant" attempted to infiltrate the Trump campaign under President Barack Obama, former Trump campaign aide Michael Caputo revealed exclusively on Fox News' "The Ingraham Angle" Monday night.

"Let me tell you something that I know for a fact," Caputo told host Laura Ingraham. "This informant, this person that they tried to plant into the campaign -- and even into the administration, if you believe Axios -- he's not the only person who came at the campaign. And the FBI is not the only Obama agency who came at the campaign.

"I know because they came at me," Caputo added. "And I'm looking for clearance from my attorney to reveal this to the public. This is just the beginning."
This is already far worse than Watergate, and we don't even know the half of it yet.

Even in the reports of Halper, this was pretty obvious; It was mentioned that an individual (Navarro I think?) kept putting Halper forward as someone the Trump team needed.

So, that guy was probably an Asset too.

I actually felt very relieved now that we have passed a point of them no longer being able to minimize what happened. But it is still very disappointing that the lawfare being wagered has large financial impacts on people who tried to assist GEOTUS's endeavors. I wish the backlash could be as equally broad.

It can be, but the groundwork is still being laid.

You want a magnificent troll? How about Trump announces that given the seriousness of the potential charges against the Obama administration, he feels that it's in the best interest of the country to preemptively pardon Obama for any related crimes which may have been committed on his watch.

They were planting all the damning information in the first place, trying to get Trump campaign people to bite. They seem to have gotten some traction with Carter Page, but that is suspicious because he is rumored to be an FBI collaborator beforehand.

As for the collapse, IIRC, and based on the current trends, there still needs to be a bunch of "you have to go back" and progress towards getting the debt under control. Neither of those look particularly likely at this point. But we are closer to it with Trump than we would have been with Hillary. I think there is still a lot of hurt to come no matter how well Trump succeeds.

(A Leftist that twit/blogs books.) From a book by the NYT reporter following Hillary on the campaign.

| "I knew it. I knew this would happen to me..." Hillary said, now within a couple of inches of his face. "They were never going to let me be president." |

Obama was a vehicle; the Clintons are a network hub. Neither sits at the top, and they know it. They're only "protected" so that the networks are protected. Rather than sending Zero to the slammer, they'll be forced to give up everyone that actually did any work, until they're only left with an "empire of dirt".

It's how you take out Kingpins, normally, but the MSM can't defend the actually important people. Thus, you corral the Big Name, force everyone below them to collapse, then take out the real players. You turn the public-facing shield into a coffin.

This is why any prognostication of elections, especially 2020 are total shots in the dark. We have no idea what all will be exposed by then, and those things could (and I expect will) be total game changers.
Now, for 2018, who knows. I do think there is enough smoke going on that the purported blue wave will be less than a splash. I expect the GOP to hold both the House and the Senate, and will probably pick up some seats in the upper chamber.
Regardless, the swamp is getting drained, one way or the other. It almost makes me think that Trump was giving the other side a year to clean up their act and get out of the way. They have doubled down, and so he will root them out.

I've been saying for the last year that a search of FISA warrants would almost certainly turn up a half-dozen Trump campaign people being wiretapped. Ditto for the 2012 campaign, and likely 2000 and even 1996 as well.

Trump has GOT to deal with this as full-bore sedition. Or insurrection. Preferably the latter, it justifies use of the military. And I suspect DOD is the only part of the Federal Government that can be relied on at this time.

Romney's "Project Orca", the GOTV system, failed miserably on election day. I don't think it mattered enough, but that election was a lot closer than people remember, in hindsight.

Besides the excitement of seeing Trump finally fight back, the most fascinating part of this scandal is comparing the Post's and Times' coverage of it with their vigilance on Watergate. They hated Nixon so off to the barricades they went on a relatively minor matter. They hate Trump do they are trying to dismiss this issue.

I have my doubts whether anything will happen (a Jew who is a swamp creature is charged with investigating it) but if this yields indictments, it will be fascinating to watch our "papers of record" go to the barricades this time for damage control. I wonder if Spielberg will make a movie about the Post valiantly trying to cover up the greatest political scandal of any election

"and progress towards getting the debt under control."

Won't/can't happen. The debt is intrinsically how inflation via the Fed Reserve operates. Until the related structures are leveled, the operators immolated, and the underlying financiers impaled in such fashion that their screams echo from the rooftops, engraving the consequences of their perfidy forever in memory.

The debt only goes away when the fiat dollar ceases to exist, because the fiat money itself is debt in the most literal sense.

No, you probably still don't understand. Look, think of when the nat'l debt was only 6 trillion. Now it's what, 22? That 22 trillion means the foundation of the fiat dollar has inflated ~366% from 6 tril to 22 tril. We don't necessarily see all of that inflation quite yet in the money supply, because it gets leveraged about thirty to fifty ways to hell before the lesser banks are done fractioning, and all that folding and re-folding of the financial soap-bubble takes a while to be "fully stretched".

What does that look like while the bubble's still stretching? Like the rosy cheeks on an unstaked vampire. It looks like financial growth and lots of easy money trickling at-will into the market. Once the inflation's complete, you realize that 6-22 tril means that any holders of that sort of money over that duration have been indirectly taxed for ~73% of those holdings.

"Suddenly" gas is at 4$/gal, your wages have gone "up" by maybe 25% at the same time, and that's the new ground floor, baby. At least until someone picks up the shovel again to dig another debt sub-basement. Thank the globohomo financiers pushing for their one world omnigenocidement.

When it was revealed via Snowden that the CIA and NSA were actively intercepting technology deliveries and planting bugs in them, often with the cooperation of the manufacturers, and then insinuating themselves into standards bodies with the explicit objective of weakening security mechanisms, the IT industry security experts went understandably nuts.

You see, various commentators had been talking about these things for many years, on the basis that given what we know about human nature, given the power and funding of these agencies, given their histories, given their protection from public oversight by the very parliamentarians who were supposed to be effecting that oversight, the conclusion that these things were already happening was all but unavoidable.

Put yourself in the position of an intelligent psychopath, enabled by funding and power of enormous consequence, protected from criminal proceedings by the very lawmakers supposed to prosecute your crimes, and imagine what you would do given such circumstances, in order to maintain and grow your power.

All this they have done, and more.

Would you orchestrate terrorist conspiracies to engineer the destruction of the government of Afghanistan, your former allies and proteges, so that your illicit opium profits flow unrestrained once more?

They did.

Would you flood Mexico with firearms while promoting gun laws at home?

They did.

And etc, almost beyond the imaginings of those who are not psychopaths. Remember Lord Acton? is famous dictum is well known ("Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.") What is less well known is his summary:

"Great men are almost always bad men."

I quoted here in an earlier thread on the same them, the summary of Gene Healey:

"It's almost always worse than you think."

You will note the similarity, the use of the word "almost". Both Acton and Healey were optimists.

It is ALWAYS worse than you think.

The very purpose of the "intelligence services" is to do worse things than you can imagine while promulgating an air of wounded innocence. To make you think it is such and such when it is in fact much much worse.

@45- If I have the story straight, the Derp State allowed itself to get carried away after Mike Rogers shut down their preferred method of using outside parties like Fusion GPS to exploit NSA dirt. When that was cut that off, they needed a reason to launch a full-retard counterintelligence operation, hence Muh Russia.

Which might not have happened, but for Trump being the Republican candidate. He makes them stupider and eviler than they'd otherwise be. It's his magic power, along with getting people to take off their masks in public.

Not that anything's truly beneath them. I listen to guys like (((Michael Medved))), who won't allow his mind to "go there." He doesn't think the coup happened because, as he puts it, 8-10 officials would have had to be lying. Government officials lying! Perish the thought.

But it's public knowledge they do this stuff. The PRISM scandal. Clapper very publicly lied about that one under oath. Brennan lied about the CIA spying on the Senate. Does anyone even remember that? Does anyone remember the IRS scandal? Fast n Furious?

This stuff happens all the time. What, we're supposed to believe they suddenly get honest leading up to an election?

disappointed that you were not able to work in an attack on Jordan Peterson into this post.

> That's because Bill is one of the best and most astute political animals of the past 100 years.

I told my wife that in our lives we had seen two of the greatest politicians of all time in Reagan and Clinton. The fact that Clinton was a great politician doesn't mean I have to like the man though.

"Why has nobody from the 10 largest banks ever gone to prison? Answer, the govt extorts them."

Because they've been in bed with gov't basically since they existed? If anything it's the other way around. The banksters own the politicians.

I agree with @26, Halper is being offered up, but eventually we'll learn that Carter Page was working for the FBI the entire time.

I agree with SDaly. I think Page has been an FBI asset the entire time. We know he has worked for them in the past.

It's not a swamp, it's a sty. And the sty has a spy or two.

@tublecane,

I used to occasionally listen to Medved during the early part of last decade (circa 2000–2003 sometime).

After noticing him figuratively putting his fingers in his ears and yelling “...la-la-la-la! I never heard anything like that! We and the Progressives are Gentlemen All!”; for the umpteenth time, when the Proggies pulled some perfidity I realized that either he had a severe cognitive dysfunction or he was controlled opposition.

No report coming from others since last I subjected myself to his discourse has indicated any error in that judgement.

I understand that he likes to think the best of people. I suppose that might be what is operating in his case.

I will note, however, if that is the cause of his eternal naivety, it takes either ⒜ a saint or ⒝ a really coddled person to continually triple-down on that philosophy w|the same people after having his nose rubbed in reality a dozen-score times.

Don't be surprised if this name turns up:

Bill Nojay

Globalist neo-con with nothing but Never-Trump beliefs and a long history of PATCON-type infiltration sidled up to Trump early on, but Flynn and Trump would have seen straight through him.
