US out of Germany
This would be most excellent news indeed. Having noticed that WWII is over and the Soviet Union is no more, the God-Emperor is talking about shutting down the US bases in Germany and bringing the troops home.
Donald Trump is considering scaling down or withdrawing the US military from Germany, according to a report ahead of the NATO leaders’ meeting. The US president has blasted allies for chipping in too little to the bloc’s budget.Except the US obviously is not protecting Europe from anyone. All those expensive troops on location didn't help Germany avoid invasion by 1.6 million migrants, so obviously there is no reason for them to be there anymore.
The decision to explore the option of pulling 35,000 US troops out of Germany came after Trump floated the idea during a meeting with White House and military aides, the Washington Post reported on Friday, citing government officials who spoke on condition of anonymity. The president was reportedly frustrated by the fact that Germany and other NATO allies don’t pay their “fair share” into the budget of the alliance.
Donald J. Trump@realDonaldTrump
....Germany pays 1% (slowly) of GDP towards NATO, while we pay 4% of a MUCH larger GDP. Does anybody believe that makes sense? We protect Europe (which is good) at great financial loss, and then get unfairly clobbered on Trade. Change is coming!

Trump was also reportedly looking at pulling the US out of the WTO. That was quickly downplayed as rumor and innuendo, though...
Put them on the southern border!
Trump pulls out of Germany .
Empty bases

Empty box, with one single starburts at the bottom
And it's an orange one.
May be the prelude to garrisoning the southern border. Hail the GE!
I stand with Jack Ward!
About time. Should’ve done it 25 years ago.
Better late than never.
But think of the camp followers....
Looking at this plus the Ocasio-Cortez primary victory, the neoliberal order now has few friends on either the left or right. There is almost no center of hard power they can call on, unless May and Macron can gin up another Suez crisis. No politician openly campaigns on their platform. Bad times for them.
"Having noticed that WWII is over..."
Someone should tell Hollywood.
35,000? I thought we had a couple thousand over there as a token show of force. I didn't realize it was a goddamn standing army. Hopefully this is high on Trump's priority list. What a waste.
If we reach a point where the GE decides it is time to act decisively against the 'Swamp', I would expect to see a series of closely spaced troop movements. The intent being to concentrate as many active duty troops on American soil as possible, in order to suppress Leftist resistance.
Ad Victoriam, Deo Vindice, Ave Imperator Trump!
The Germans can use the empty bases to store the invaders.

The Germans can use the empty bases to teach the invaders the proper European way to rape women.

Send them home. The Banana Empire legion would likely be ordered to crush any who objected too much to the Coudenhove-Kalergi plan to genocide the native Euro populace should sufficient numbers of those targeted wake up to reality. Trump's statement adds to the evidence that the God-Emperor is finally taking command of at least some of the legions. Even so it seems that segments continue to take their marching orders from the Deep-State.
I actually linked to the wrong article in the previous (though it was somewhat related, but pertained more to the State Dept., which is still owned by Deep State). The article about US military aiding invaders is here: US Navy lands rapefugees in Italy.
@10 "35,000? I thought we had a couple thousand over there as a token show of force. I didn't realize it was a goddamn standing army."
A possible concern might that Germany is where we send our seriously wounded guys from the Middle East and Afghanistan for treatment or stabilization before sending them on to the States.
Or, hey! Here's an idea: let's stop letting them get HURT where they shouldn't be in the first place, and we won't need to bring them to the second place (Ramstein)for Western care: they'll already BE home!
U.S. OUT of NATO!
16. Avalanche
I stand with Avalanche on this one. (Sorry Jack Ward)

Probably be referred to as the "White Squall" end to the Storm?!
In the current mindset, standing armies are only good for protecting against other armies and cleaning up natural disasters. And our enlightened European allies scoffed at us sending an aircraft carrier to southeast Asia to help disaster relief there.

I, too, stand with Avalanche, and, I stand with you standing with me. I guess. What the heck, lets all stand with The Donald, and pray for all those political goodies we have been missing each decade for too damn long.
I was thinking the same
well, we could have our crew help clear the immivaders out of there on the way out...
"... lets all stand with The Donald, and pray for all those political goodies we have been missing each decade for too damn long. " ~ Jack
Amen brother, amen.
I pray for family, friends, and our culture all the time. Prayer for The Donald is a big part of that of course.
I also find there are some really good people who make comments here. I am thankful for all of them. You are in that group of course. :-)
Next, the GE will be pointing out the real threat to the post-WWII world is China.
And if you thought the elites were going crazy with the pull out of NATO talk......

When the USSR started falling apart, what a shame Bush II didn't start reducing our commitment, instead of expanding it.

Is that before or after teaching them how to use a toilet?
O/T Vox,
Your old buddy, the littlest Chickenhawk went on the Bill Mahr show & the left is giving Mahr crap about platforming him.

And another interesting tidbit is that Cortez has flipped on anti-war and a few other things apparently. Scott Adamas in his dilbert blog notes she is a persuader. But this might be even more interesting.
Meanwhile #WalkAway seems to have legs. To use another Adamsism, people are waking up that they are not in a "Return of Hitler and the Nazis" horror movie, and are more horrified of what the left has become.
Troop related: Oldest veteran in US, 112, robbed of savings, identity, family says
(Beware: people on social media are linking to the existing GoFundme originally started in 2016 for Mr. Overton's in-home care. I'm waiting for another GoFundme to help replenish Mr. Overton's savings; ffs I can afford to throw him a few dollars, he's our oldest living vet and still smokes 12 cigars a day)
According to the family of Richard Overton, 112, a World War II veteran who lives in Austin, Texas, an unknown thief set up a fake bank account with Overton’s Social Security number and accessed his personal checking account, the Dallas Morning News reported.
Volna Overton, his third cousin, said the identity thief has for months been using Overton’s money to buy savings bonds.
“This is going to be a setback for Richard,” she said. “It was a significant amount of money.”
Overton’s bank account, however, is separate from a GoFundMe account that has been financing his in-home care since December 2016. The page has raised nearly $340,000.
Volma said a friend of Overton’s filed a police report Friday
Overton was verified as the oldest living man in America and the oldest U.S. veteran by the Gerontology Research Group.
According to the Morning News, Overton maintains a daily habit of 12 cigars and occasionally indulges in whiskey and cola.
Overton served in Hawaii and the South Pacific during World War II. He moved to East Austin in 1945 and has remained there ever since. He was honored one year in Washington, D.C., for Veteran’s Day by President Barack Obama.
@Jack Ward @Mark Stoval
United we stand!
Those troops aren't there to protect the German nation, they are there to protect the German satrop in the Anglo-American empire. They are more likely to be used against the German people than to be used to defend them.
And our enlightened European allies scoffed at us sending an aircraft carrier to southeast Asia to help disaster relief there.
They have no idea how much clean water and electricity a CV can generate.
When Trump campaigned on playing nice with Russia and maybe withdrawing from NATO bilions of dollars were threatened. The military idustrial complex sprung into action and all we hear is Russia Russia. Dennis Kucinich nailed it.
Americans died so that French and Germans could turn their country over to Muslims. What a waste of lives. If Europe cannot defend themselves from Africans in rubber boats they deserve to be over run.
@33
"the left is giving Mahr crap about platforming him. "
The thing I hate the left for, more than anything else, is there constant abuse of the language in their never-ending quest to destroy it.
@43:
No they don't deserve to be overrun. That's just rationalizing and justifying this crime. Their doing it in every Western nation, their doing it to my country, and the state has the guns pointed at anyone who objects.
Don't excuse the crime. Fight in the way you can.
What other low-hanging fruit of easy accomplishments are hanging around from inertia?
1. Ending the Korean War: in progress.
2. Ending the post-WWII occupation of Germany: proposed.
3. Are there archaic remnants of Reconstruction still oppressing the former CSA?
4. Can we admit that the U.N. is a failed experiment, stop giving them money, and move them from prime NY real estate to a bare-bones warehouse 100 miles outside of Topeka, just maintaining token membership for the Security Council veto? (Let "Nikki Haley" teleconference -- she has found her calling, and the only way to top the scorn of a dot-Indian girl is for her to not even bother to attend in person.)
5. How many Federal executive departments could Congress end tomorrow with easily net upside for outsiders, as matters properly in the domain of the States?
6. How many Federal lower courts could Congress rearrange, and how many judges impeach, to punish will-to-power renegades and restore the rule of written law?
7a. Build the wall.
7b. (Canada too.)
8. Deport them all.
9. Enforce blasphemy laws.
10. End the post-WWII occupation of Japan.
11. End the post-9/11 occupation of Afghanistan.

Civil Rights Act.
@scivo:
12. Fire any police commissioner that fails to enforce 'incitement to riot' laws against protesters.
13. use 'precedent' to permit right of association for any business that is not incorporated or publicly traded.
14. file monopoly charges against multinationals and charge punishing duties against companies that outsource any foreign labor... or 'insource' h1b's or immigrants.
15. make hiring non-citizens a felony Inside of the US.
I dunno about low-hanging fruit, but dual citizenship has to end.
@48 Dire Badger
"12. Fire any police commissioner that fails to enforce 'incitement to riot' laws against protesters."
President can't fire local police commissioners. However, he can INDICT THEM on federal charges, for Aiding and Abetting Insurrection.
Same goes for all of the sanctuary city police chiefs, mayors, and city council memberss.
Something I am sure many and possibly even Trump would consider a move long over due but more likely an opening position for an upcoming summit with Putin. It represents the extent to which Trump is willing to go if Putin reciprocates.
"And it's an orange one."
Hey! Send me the orange ones if you don't like them.
"Someone should tell Hollywood."

Back on-topic, this seems like an excellent step by the god-emperor.
SciVo:#6: We have 57 immigration courts. What is their purpose? Unlike other crimes, immigration violations are easy to determine. You are either legal or illegal. A low level clerk can sign the orders for deportation.

Only if it's a gold or silver coin.

Gold. Definitely Gold.
eclecticme wrote:Americans died so that French and Germans could turn their country over to Muslims. What a waste of lives. If Europe cannot defend themselves from Africans in rubber boats they deserve to be over run.
My grandfathers's generation would have lauded the Muslim invasion, and denied it was so. So many of them were total f'ing idiots.
@46
Beautiful!
Think about this. The plan was to keep V Corp in Germany forever as a euro stabilization force. Oops.....don't look now, all the posts in the US are at capacity due to BRAC. There is no room for the approx 35k troops. We'd have to reopen long closed forts or add on to some. Reopen Ft Dix? Build up Bening, Carson and Riley? Good luck with that, kids.
@58 - It might be an organizational clusterfuck, but spreading 35k over existing installations is perfectly doable. You Army and AF guys are so cute with your ideas about personal space. Also, off base housing is a thing in most areas. Hell, there are so many vacancies here at Offutt that they're letting GS employees rent them. Heaven forbid non-married E4 and below be required to live in barracks, which hardly takes any room at all.
@58 - Also, there's a whole lot of desert that federally owned. If for some bizarre reason the DOD is unable to distribute the load, it takes almost no time to setup a portable tent city.
35,000? I thought we had a couple thousand over there as a token show of force. I didn't realize it was a goddamn standing army.
It's not a standing army. It is about 21,000 Army and 13,000 Air Force. No main battle tanks. Few combat troops. Mostly logistics troops.
When the USSR started falling apart, what a shame Bush II didn't start reducing our commitment, instead of expanding it.
He did. Or more accurately, Clinton mostly did. The US had ~350,000 troops in Europe at the end of the Cold War, down from ~400,000 at the height of the Berlin Crisis in 1961.

Prelude to moving to Poland?
I can understand the Poles wanting U.S. troops based there... but since they're willing to pay for the troops to be based there, the UK should do it. Putting US troops so close to the CIS is NOT a good thing. It just ratchets up tensions needlessly (which is, I believe, what the Poles want).
