This is what desperation looks like

I wonder how many US intelligence agents Russia and China could indict?
Special Counsel Robert Mueller indicted 12 Russian intelligence officers for hacking offenses related to the 2016 U.S. presidential campaign.

The 12, who are members of the GRU, Russia’s military intelligence agency, are accused of stealing usernames and passwords of volunteers in Democrat Hillary Clinton’s campaign, including its chairman John Podesta. They also allegedly hacked into the computer network of the Democratic National Committee and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, in an operation starting around March 2016.

The charges include conspiracy to commit an offense against the U.S., aggravated identity theft and conspiracy to launder money. They are accused of releasing the stolen emails on the web
This is bizarre. What on Earth could be the point of indicting foreign agents well out of the reach of US jurisdiction with petty crimes?
The announcement came only three days before President Donald Trump is to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki. Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer quickly called for Trump to cancel the summit, saying, “Glad-handing with Vladimir Putin on the heels of these indictments would be an insult to our democracy.”
Oh. They're trying to break up the holy alliance between the God-Emperor and the Neo-Tsar.

I hope the secret service is on top form here, co-ordinating with GRU for the summit. If even half of what the Autists studying Q has uncovered about a possible assassination attempt on Trump via ballistic missile is true, I don't doubt they'd try something incredibly rash with this meeting.

Assuming the charges are factual, which I don't, spies get caught all the time with their hand in the cookie jar and get called back home to avoid legal issues in foreign countries. This is about as worthwhile as charging Al Capone for murder after he died in prison of syphilis. Complete waste of time and money, if true.

Blogger Dr. J July 13, 2018 2:19 PM

The logic on this never made sense, as far as revealing something damning about Trump, his people, his campaign, the election, or even the Russians.

1. Russian agents hacked libtard e-mails with ridiculously simple p@sswords and released them for all to see (note they didn't keep them as collateral or blackmail material, as far as we know)

2. The Dems said some really nasty stuff about the plebes, revealed some telling insider info about Hillary being a complete psychopath, and said some weird crap about pizza and hot dogs. No argument about authenticity of the e-mails.

3. Trump wins because the great unwashed masses learn in print what the satanic elites really think about them = RUSSIAN MEDDLING

Are these really the optics you want front and center right now if you're a Dem apparatchik?

It is interesting that they choose to indict people they can never possibly bring to trial. From what I was reading of the Manafort case they don't need to present their evidence until the trial. If there is no trial, no evidence needs to be presented. So the quality of the evidence is up to the interpretation of the prosecuting attorney only... or is this inaccurate?

What is most frustrating is that Trump acts like the DOJ is a completely independent Fourth Branch of government. That is nonsense. The President has ALL the executive power. Its right there in Article II, Section 1 of the Constitution. He should be micromanaging who gets prosecuted and who does not. We elected him. Not that worm (((Rosenstein))) or that rat fink Jeff "I let the most damaging spy in US history, Imran Awan, completely off the hook" Sessions. If anyone has a problem with his actions its up to Congress and the voters to deal with it.

Its blatantly obvious that the Sessions DOJ/FBI is completely out of control and the President has to reign it in. Its his duty and responsibility to do so.

Crew wrote:Heh. I imagine the God Emperor knew it was coming ... The Trump Curse may be coming for someone in the DoJ soon!

Trump was brief, as Rosenstein said.

At this point, I'm really starting to suspect that the Mueller "investigation" might be one of the most brilliant Xanatos Gambits we've seen. You can reliably predict that the "investigation" will come out with something to keep pushing the Russia narative, but it will keep further distancing the central Trump players from anything to do with the Democrats foreign influence play during the campaign. Mueller is the arch-swamp protector, but he's not this stupid.

Currently, the Russia narrative, which was setup by the UniParty, has been reversed to the point that it serves Trump's strategic objectives. It's pretty clear that the point is to drive the Democrats and their activist base into electoral ruin & pure insanity. Every time they over react, they shed a little more of their support. After 8 years, and a wave of suicides, they'll be broken.

The other little detail is who all of the people that have actually been caught up with Mueller. Flynn is the only non-swamp creature to be hit, but he might also be key to the entire situation. Spooks don't take random dives. Chest-full-of-metals, career spooks never take a dive.

I was able to predict Trump's actions around DACA, months before it played out, when I was able to align the situation with the optimized outcomes, thus predicting Trump would bash the Dems & setup Left-of-Center because there was never a deal. (That is, the most Trump could get out of the situation was Optical Value; which he did in spades.) The "Russia Investigation" is being handled by Trump's organization either directly or so far ahead of the Swamp's OODA loop that they've made them into puppets.

The high level players are definitely playing for keeps.

Blogger Looking Glass July 13, 2018 2:46 PM

Might as well at least plug the work I'm responding to, but it's quite impressive to watch truly high-level players actually working everything. The Left really, really wants to Monologue like a Villain. Trump never tells you anything he doesn't want to tell you. That's, functionally, a Super Power in the modern environment.

Also related, and something we should probably repeat more often, but we bring up the 2 SD communications gap & MPAI around here a good bit. Realize, early everyone in DC is a member of the MPAI club. They're just more arrogant, devious & evil than most of the rest of the country. They're not actually smart. "Cunning" is about what the best of them are capable. For Trump to operate, he needs DC running in circles not doing anything productive. He'll keep feeding red meat to both his allies & his enemies for 8 years.

The man just shifted the Overton Window on immigration while out of Country. That's how good he & his true team are at this.

Nota bene this comes on the same day that UK authorities made a surprise announcement that they've suddenly discovered a bottle of novichock - the magical Russian nerve agent that does whatever the narrative requires of it at any particular moment - in a house in England.

No doubt we'll soon learn it was found alongside a Russian passport and a document entitled "TOP SECЯET PLAN FOR WOЯLD DOMINATION".

We know that the Derp State and their British catamites have been in close cooperation since Mr Steel's pee-pee fanfic, so the simultaneous announcements about those damned, infernal Russkies certainly aren't a coinkydink.

But it does suggest they're really panicking about the Trump-Putin summit. I wonder what else they have planned?

Given that it seems to have already been proven that the NSA has tools that can fake a Russian fingerprints on hacking attempts, these indictments seem outright fraudulent.

It would be interesting to see the evidence that is specific enough to point to these particular people being indicted. We'll never see that evidence of course and they'll get convicted inabsentia so we'll never see the proof either.

I joke about asking Moldova's Electronic Intelligence service, which is 3 guys in a basement, for a copy of Hillary's emails. The hard fact of the matter is *everyone* had those emails. Which is also why almost all other countries were pulling for Hillary. Do you know how much easier it is to spy on someone when you're just reading their emails?

At minimum, the French, British, German, Chinese, Russian, North Korean, Israeli, Spanish and Italian services were fighting each other for the ability to hack the entire server itself. Or the network gear into the server. That IP meta data could have, compared to other data sets they had, allow them to connect up so much of what was going on in D.C.

The man just shifted the Overton Window on immigration while out of Country. That's how good he & his true team are at this.

I’m curious how they develop this shift. I’d image the larger play is to stop / slow the influx, and then deal with those invaders already in place. Yeah, I’m too short for the official trump ride but its still an interesting thought experiment.
Lets say everyone decides to agree with trump
“I think you are losing your culture. Look around. You go through certain areas that didn’t exist 10 or 15 years ago,” the president said in an interview with the Sun. “I think what has happened to Europe is a shame,” he added. “Allowing the immigration to take place in Europe is a shame.”
“I have a great love for the countries of Europe,” but noting that immigration has taken a toll. “I think it changed the fabric of Europe and, unless you act very quickly, it’s never going to be what it was and I don’t mean that in a positive way,” Trump said. “So I think allowing millions and millions of people to come into Europe is very, very sad.”

You don’t “peacefully” remove 20+ million invaders from Europe overnight, no one will take them. You have to stop the flow, but even then you have one of the largest “armies” in the world scattered about your continent that must be dealt with. Worse yet the invaders have parasitically attached themselves to local society.
I don’t pretend to play at Trump’s level but it appears you NEED WWIII to resolve the standing armies of invaders in the west. It will be fascinating to see how this evolves and progresses. They will need scapegoats (Mohamed may want an actual escape goat), I’m guessing a number of the globalist political leaders get tagged for that role

Africa and central america are both hanging by a string as usual and on the edge of a famine / failed state / civil war.
You need a beach head of some sort to actually kick them out. Even if in the case of the US you cut the illegals off from all government programs, effectively driving them out of the us, mexico and central america become failed states overnight as the influx of illegals returns and they all fight for local scraps. The US also has plenty of African invaders ( not legacy american blacks) that would have to go as well. the Minnesota Somali invasion for example as well as the newer NH and Maine Somali dumping sites.

Exactly. But all the companies had to do was send attorneys. Mueller probably assumes that individual defendants won't risk it.

They have to keep doling down on the Russia conspiracy theory, because without it, what do they have? The administration in power conspired with a candidate from the same party to conduct an extensive electronic espionage and infiltration operation against the candidate from the other party because, um, you know... reasons.

Yup. 23 MB/sec. Of course, the contents of those emails are irrelevant -- it's the leaking that's the "crime."

But you can't really establish that the feds are lying on this one, because they refused to examine the servers themselves. They all just lined up in a row and chanted "We. BELIEVE. CrowdStrike."

So even if they go down, they can just claim to be extremely stupid and credulous, and deny that they orchestrated a deliberate criminal coverup.

They left the "hack" narrative alone for quite a while after it was initially discredited. Remember, they moved on to "collusion" as the AP Sylebook-mandated language, then "meddling." Maybe they figure that it's been long enough that people have forgotten how thoroughly the 'hack" allegations were disproven, so it's time to start promoting that language again?

Pity me, I'm old, and have outlived my culture. In /my/ grade school we drilled homonyms, and so rain/rein/reign bothers me. Every time.. its like a hangnail.

The worst part of this Mueller farce is that we, the taxpayers, are paying for it.

It doesn't seem to phase anyone else, but we'll try to put the breaks on this rapidly-spreading plague of homonym-specific dyslexia.

@Lazarus
OK, that's the thread winner. Everyone can go home now.

Not that I think the CIA did anything wrong (though they did do it stupidly (own phones....)), but trying this is a slippery slope.

Snidely Whiplash wrote:To be explicit, because everybody except @22, Robert Divinity, missed it, Russia had nothing whatever to do with the DNC hack. NOTHING. That is already proven.

The file timestamps show conclusively that whoever downloaded the emails was on the same network, probably in the same building, as the mail server. This is known to the FBI. They are experts at this sort of investigation.

Which means that Mueller is withholding evidence and playing on the credulity of the court system. The Russians indicted just have to send a lawyer who will pursue aggressive discovery, and the case will be dismissed, with prejudice.

I have no idea why Mueller is making this stupid move, since it's already backfired on him twice, but as the SDL says HIS DOOM IS SEALED.. errr I mean, he's desperate.

@71 "rain/rein/reign bothers me"

Oh man -- me too in spades! Also faze and phase -- NOT the same!

Blogger Mark Stoval July 13, 2018 8:58 PM

Sometimes on a post like this one and the thread that follows, one is reminded of the Herculean job Trump is faced with. I am also reminded of the danger that the man is in, as well as his family.

I believe that elements of the military must be helping with his security or else I think he would be with JFK by now. The man is out in public openly a LOT.

I will continue to pray for Trump, his family, and my nation.

I see what you did there. :-)

Mark,

Washington had battle luck on par with anyone you can think of. We all know the stories of the sniper who couldn't fire after hearing him pray, the holes through his jackets and tricorner hat.

Bold as a lion Trump can be, daring his enemies to strike, knowing they won't. Has the Lord chosen to make Trump's enemies his footstool?

@68

"Yes. Did you read the plea deal? He is copping to some small time bank fraud charges. As for all the espionage and computer fraud its CASE CLOSED."

Unless he violates his agreement, by, say, even hesitating to give complete testimony in the prosecution of any of the people whom he co-committed crimes with, or other crimes he discovered while he had access to the DNC server.

Blogger Dirk Manly July 13, 2018 10:21 PM

@72

"The worst part of this Mueller farce is that we, the taxpayers, are paying for it."

You really think that Mueller won't be charged with obstruction of justice ? Remember, CONDUCTING a wild goose chase, under false pretenses, is using DOJ resources on what's known to be a dry hole, IS obstruction, because it pulls resources that it is KNOWN to have had a better chance of being used successfully had they been used on an assortment of other investigations.

Blogger Didas Kalos July 13, 2018 10:39 PM

Yes.

Blogger Brick Hardslab July 13, 2018 10:46 PM

Right about now I'm wishing Washington had accepted the crown.

Blogger Unknown July 13, 2018 11:25 PM

I looked over the charges, and there are a lot of specifics about who did what to whom and how, but given that no one in federal law enforcement had any of the servers in question to forensically examine, this means that there is z e r o direct admissible evidence that any of the 12 charged actually did that which they are charged of doing.

Like @16 hinted at, this entire thing is smoke and mirrors.

Also, did anyone catch what Rosenstein said in his dog and pony show? This entire charade of an indictment is now in the hands of the traitorous Department of Justice National Security division.

Sundance over at CTH is all over it:

"(((Rosenstein))) is a rat. Can't wait till the GE is finally finished using him."

I wasn't sure until I saw that perpetual smirk on his face when he was being questioned by the House investigators.

Now I'm convinced.

And Strzok doesn't even attempt to hide his utter and complete arrogance. He looked like a boy with his hand deep in the cookie jar while believing he drank a magic potion making him invisible.

The Dems in the committee hearing trying to run interference for him was truly eye-opening. Their actions in and of themselves constitute obstruction of justice, if not worse (and I think MUCH worse would be appropriate -- such as accomplices after the fact in attempted Treason).

Blogger Zander Stander July 14, 2018 6:21 AM

Question: Is Stzrok acting textbook for a cornered gamma, or is he something else in the Greek letter hierarchy?

Blogger Dirk Manly July 14, 2018 7:14 AM

I think he's trying for upsilon

Blogger Hunsdon July 14, 2018 10:42 AM

Dirk, I seem to remember some proverb about pride and a haughty spirit . . . but I don't suppose Strzok spends much time with his Bible.

@ 39 "I remember @20Committee the most, simply because he's in the Brennan Network. You can predict a lot about D.C. by figuring out which network someone is apart of" Oh yes, the ex-NSA guy who claimed to have been one of the youngest division chiefs in the history of No Such Agency but never says which one, who managed it also while learning to speak ten Slavic languages. Schindler supposedly got fired by US Naval War College over junk pics to some honeypot gal waitress in Nebraska, but the real reason he got crap-canned was for running a clumsy domestic psyop / trolling operation out of his offices and USNWC servers. Tom Nichols his buddy on team NSA troll after the Snowden leaks hit is a leading #NeverTrump er, who deleted his blog after smugly predicting that not only the Russians wouldn't dare intervene to get in our way of removing Assad, they didn't have the capability with their pathetic rust bucket military. Oops!

It wouldn't surprise me if Schindler, given his sneering at DIA and venom for Lt. Gen. Flynn, is part of that ISIS arming sunavabitch Riyadh John Ibn Saud Brennan's network. He tweets at CEPA and the @EUvsDisinfo troll Jakub Kalensky who spends half his time and European Union taxpayer funds to attack Trump and imply he's a Russian agent. Purely on his own time and social media of course.
