Trust the Plan! Stay the Course! Love the Q teaser.
Arkhaven hits with effect!
Guess I'm going to have to set aside a chunk of my money each month until it hits, then.
Good news about Q comics, will support.
Spoiler: Q is Patrick McGoohan.
It's great that a title that was released as a sort of dry run before Alt-Hero has turned into a fine comic on its own. Complaining about a wordy comic seems weird given the how unusual they are. Starlin used to write more prolix comics in the 70's and it just meant you got to spend more with them.
Ready to back Q.
Just finished QM #3 in the Kindle cloud reader. As good as the first two.
Question for those interested: we will have an "all-digital" option. Is there any interest in an "all-print-editions" option. By which I mean the single print issues.
We're planning 6 issues. If it really takes off, I mean Cyberfrog-level takes off, we'll do 12.
I would be surprised if there wasn't interest in an "all-print-editions" option.
Thanks for the Arkstream. Good to hear another crowdfunder may soon be underway. Not sure if there is much overlap between the two groups of backers, but timing could still be important as EVS is also talking about another campaign, this time for Rainbow Brute.

I doubt there is much overlap between Alt-Hero: Q and Rainbow Brute.
Don’t underestimate rainbow brute. I have a sneaking suspicion it’s going to do very well. We’ll see if my instincts are way off or not.
@8: I like the option of receiving both digital and print a la Alt Hero, so the all-print option does not really appeal to me. But it might appeal to others.
EVS is claiming Rainbow Brute could surpass the Cyberfrog crowdfunder. I wouldn't bet against him; he has the experience and knowledge gained from Cyberfrog with over 8,000 backers, and he has a big pool of over 70k YouTube subs from which to draw even more backers.
Possibly the only barrier would be crowdfunder fatigue.

I'm not underestimating it at all. Look at how well Cyberfrog did. And yet I still have my doubts that either of them are an effective basis for an extended series of stories.

Perhaps it will. I would demonstrate that I could deliver on the latter before launching the former myself. People may not realize it, but we've delivered 17 issues, 10 in print, since the Alt-Hero campaign ended. Only 4/3 are actual Alt-Hero comics, but they're coming along.
And that will be 4/4 by Monday....
I favor the Alt*Hero method of all-digital and options for limited edition TPBs and/or Hardcovers. The single issues are cheap enough that it's no trouble to buy them as they're released.
Rainbow Brute is really just a joke in the same vein as Shrek. Whether EVS can manage to shake some decent stories out if it, only time will tell. Purely from a character appeal standpoint I think RB shines. I really don’t understand what the appeal is to ppl about Cyberfrog. The name alone is dated. Do we really want 90s nostalgia? I find that to be a very ugly decade. Q has a lot of story potential- a deep well. You could go a 1000 different directions with it.
And on the ‘delivery’ front, all of these indie go go campaigns everyone is tickled over- none of them have actually delivered on anything yet. I’m delighted with everything AltHero has actually produced & put out there for people to enjoy. Good stuff.
Attaining Cyberfrog levels of crowdfunding is a tall mountain to climb. It's a worthy and challenging goal, however, it will require a massive hook or two for enticement.
$540k from 2,200 backers is an average of $245 each. That's $20 an issue for 12 issues. Even if The Legend Chuck Dixon signed every copy, I not sure there is a critical mass of support at $20 an issue. There might be a small core of supporters interested in multiple copies that would obviously reduce the backer cost per issue.
Q clothing, shirts, hats should be a good enticement.
Anybody?

YES!
I've been doing this with Alt-Hero and QM, and would love to be able to buy it as a one-shot during the kickstarter.
Would also back for the collected paperbacks like you did with Alt-Hero as well.
How ever you do it, I'll still be buying multiples of the single issues to give away too, so it's not like it's a deal breaker if you don't off the single issue collection during the kickstarter.
But if you're trying to beat EVS, I'd back both of those options if offered.

That's what I'm talking about. If backers are already planning to buy additional copies of individual issues; give them that option as a backer. I believe backers will pay a little more per issue to support the campaign and at the same time then have multiple copies to do with as they wish.
On Q clothing; make some available at the start of the campaign so people can showcase their support. At a minimum t-shirts and hats.

Without question. I'd be surprised if we manage it. But I won't be shocked.

Will have to think that through. See, we can ship two or three extra issues for the same price as one.
A Rainbow Brute/ Alt-hero Q crossover one shot would still be hilarious.
It would be extraordinarily stupid and a psychotic, twisted fever dream but it still be really, really funny.
I give my vote to the printed single issues for backers. I like having the individual copies, maybe give it as a certain pay level so people can just get digital if they don’t want to shell out extra for individual copies.

The Wolfman may have just hit upon the one and only way we'll ever see a collaboration between EVS and CD and VD.

?? You mentioned querying the backers about a Q pub (yes yes yes!! Total dream come true!) -- but -- I'm a backer and heard/saw nothing? Is there a secret handshake I'm supposed to know?
@ Avalanche
Last backer email with Alt-Hero #3 had a survey question on the bottom.
I missed it too, only noticed it after people talked about it in the comments here.

Narrative moves again, probably in preparation for the physical store campaigns this month and next.
"Alt-Hero can't win any awards! They got passed over for even nominations!"
You're improving every issue of alt hero. The first issue's art and placement of bubbles has improved exponentially with the last two issues. Can't wait for more vox, keep kicking ass
Also, I will shamelessly admit the whole " I ain't a mineral neither" line got me.
