Smells like tortious interference

Soros and David Brock appear to be behind the recent social media takedowns:
A confidential, 49-page memo for defeating Trump by working with the major social-media platforms to eliminate “right wing propaganda and fake news” was presented in January 2017  by Media Matters founder David Brock at a retreat in Florida with about 100 donors, the Washington Free Beacon reported at the time.

On Monday, the Gateway Pundit blog noted the memo’s relationship with recent moves by Silicon Valley tech giants to “shadow ban” conservative political candidates and pundits and remove content.

The Free Beacon obtained a copy of the memo, “Democracy Matters: Strategic Plan for Action,” by attending the retreat.

The memo spells out a four-year agenda that deployed Media Matters along with American Bridge, Shareblue and Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) to attack Trump and Republicans. The strategies are impeachment, expanding Media Matters’ mission to combat “government misinformation,” ensuring Democratic control of the Senate in the 2018 midterm elections, filing lawsuits against the Trump administration, monetizing political advocacy, using a “digital attacker” to delegitimize Trump’s presidency and damage Republicans, and partnering with Facebook to combat “fake news.”

Quashing ‘fake news’ with ‘mathematical precision’

The Free Beacon in its January 2017 story said Brock sought to raise $40 million in 2017 for his organizations.

The document claims Media Matters and far-left groups have “access to raw data from Facebook, Twitter, and other social media sites” so they can “systemically monitor and analyze this unfiltered data.”

“The earlier we can identify a fake news story, the more effectively we can quash it,” the memo states. “With this new technology at our fingertips, researchers monitoring news in real time will be able to identify the origins of a lie with mathematical precision, creating an early warning system for fake news and disinformation.”

Media Matters met with Facebook, which boasts some 2 billion members worldwide, to discuss how to crack down on fake news, according to the memo.

The social media giant was provided with “a detailed map of the constellation of right-wing Facebook pages that had been the biggest purveyors of fake news.”

Brock’s memo also says Media Matters gave Google “the information necessary to identify 40 of the worst fake new sites” so they could be banned from Google’s advertising network.

The Gateway Pundit pointed out that in 2016, Google carried out that plan on the Gateway Pundit blog and other conservative sites, including Breitbart, the Drudge Report, Infowars, Zero Hedge and Conservative Treehouse.

Facebook, meanwhile has changed its newsfeed algorithm, ostensibly to combat “fake news,” causing a precipitous decline in traffic for many conservative sites.
Relying on the left-wing big social platforms is inherently fragile. Get off Twitter and Facebook, get on Oneway for public stuff and Idka for private groups. Edit Infogalactic instead of Wikipedia. Getting anti-fragile is the key to future success. I'd rather have 10k followers on BitChute than 100k on YouTube, but a 20k email list would be better than either.

Youtube has more or less destroyed the music industry. Was it to "demonetize" all the truly creative artists and gifted musicians out there, i.e. reduce their royalty payments to close to zero? I wonder why this could happen when they now take conservative videos down if they just quote a small portion of a TV show.

Twitter just isn't the same without Spacebunny reducing ijits to tears of rage simply by referring to them as "dear".

Do you think its possible/worth trying to peel off at least some of the donors to Conservatism Inc.? These think tanks have sucked the air out of most of the fundraising on the right. I know several who have given a lot (and may even have it in their will to give a lot more) to essentially cuckservative front groups because they were raised on National Review and the like. They’ve only recently started to become aware of the disconnect between Trump and professional conservative hacks. Even $10 million in the hands of Vox, Cerno, Stefan et al. Would be infinitely more effective than the billions of $ sitting in various conservative endowments.

Big Social have entered the realm of political action committees. I can't see how editing content and taking partisan steps to influence elections will end well for them. Maybe they think Trump is a fleeting aberration?

@5 "You can buy a lot of bow ties with that kind of cash."

Those bow ties are probably donated by their "opponents" so the viewers can tell the difference.

Bow tie wearer => Cuck

No bow tie (with or without bug eyes) => SJW

Vox - Thanks for the shout about Idka.

As I have mentioned on other threads, I am an advisor to the company and glad to help answer questions. It is a great platform for collaborating/sharing privately. So it works best when you bring a group TO Idka (work/family/clubs). If you register by yourself, you may be a bit underwhelmed as there will not be a "ticker tape parade" for you when you come on board! There are a few public groups and will certainly be more as membership grows.

But we think the sweet spot will be groups that want to get off social media. Idka will never share or sell your info and it does not monitor/scrape what you are doing. No advertising, either.

So be a pioneer and help us build this platform. Idka is not alt-right, nor even particularly alt-tech. However, it is VERY focused on user privacy.

It is in Beta right now and free. Next year, they will emerge from Beta and will still have free plans and others as low as $2/month that come with lots of storage; less than you would pay for DropBox, Box or iCloud.

Blogger TaurianVita August 21, 2018 5:56 AM

As mentioned, Idka is apolitical, but I am NOT!

I don't understand how shit like this is even legal. Surely they are breaking some kind of law here. Every other damned thing in the world is illegal these days, I can't imagine this sphere of life is immune.

I'm not even talking about making things fair or whatever, VD is absolutely right about abandoning the enemy's infrastructure and building our own, but if there is some legal remedy that could be entertained here, we ought to pursue it, if for no other reason than to deny the enemy a platform that they can use to organize against us.

There's also something to be said for taking a big scalp like that, even if you don't accomplish anything else, just from a morale standpoint.

Taking the fight to enemy emboldens our side and demoralizes theirs.

If we can't use the platform ourselves, burn it to the ground.

Blogger TaurianVita August 21, 2018 6:27 AM

@10 Currently, you can search for Groups using keywords. If the keyword is in the name of the Group, it will come up. Idka will be adding functionality, like being able to "tag" groups with keywords so they will be easier to find. Currently, they are focusing on bringing more existing groups to the platform. Idka has about 5K users and launched about 4 months ago, so spread the word and create some new groups with family, friends, colleagues!

This has been going on for a while. Book called "Everybody Lies" (spot the projection?) studied Google raw searches(access due to tribal membership) and found that counties with overwhelming searches for n-word jokes voted for TGE, whereas these searches were in a minority in Dem strongholds. No research was done to correlate Dem counties with searches for, let's say, pedophilia. How very surprising.

Blogger Avalanche August 21, 2018 7:16 AM

@13 "if there is some legal remedy that could be entertained here, we ought to pursue it,"

This would be the same demon our God Emperor has been fighting these past nearly two years: a "legal remedy"!? You mean like, go to court?! Like, ask the courts that have been packed liked tinned sardines with our enemies who actually (and actively) SUPPORT the subversion and disassembly of our legal system, to, you know, NOT subvert and disassemble our legal system?! Riiiiiiight.

Appealing to "Big Daddy Just-Us" for justice and fair play or even just a grudging upholding of our laws?! Not gonna happen.

The thing I keep looking for is why are the @#$%^&* congress-critters NOT impeaching and removing, say, BikeLockFag's "oh, just let him off seven felonies" judge"?! She should lose her seat, period, no appeals; the lawyer(s) should be disbarred.

Or the judge who is allowing a first degree murder charge against the idiot-kid in Charlottesville Way-fat, heavy-smoker, Heather Heiyer, out marching excitedly in high heat and higher humidity, died of a heart attack! Her own mother announced it on video, at the scene, the day after her death. On what possible grounds can they call that 1st deg. murder?

And, while I'm at it, WHY are the antifa still allowed to tear things up wearing masks?! Why are they not charged will violence and 'KKK-style' hiding their faces while committing crimes?

Yeah, let's take Big Social to COURT! That'll show the world they're the real racists.... eh?

Not by any win it won't. But a good lawsuit, well publicized if even through alternate channels, does get the word out. You can't stop the signal unless you simple don't broadcast it.

It's hard not to notice similarities between SFSJW reaction to the puppies' campaigns and the SJW reaction to alt right and Trump phenomena. Perhaps we can goad them into running Kamala "home movies" Harris or even Occasional Kotex for President in 2020. That'll show us!

Meanwhile, worldcon gets a few thousand attendees and dragoncon draws 50,000. Naturally, the SJW locusts will be infiltrating dragoncon now. We'll see how well they are resisted.

Interesting to compare her two pages side-by-side. Wiki of course calls her a white nationalist, neo-nazi conspiracy theorist. IG is much more neutral.

Learned helplessness? Or deliberate defeatism? Conservatives look more and more like a fifth column; they seem to prefer losing to winning, and snatch at opportunities for defeat.

Speaking of Infogalactic, is there still any good way of automatically redirecting Wikipedia links there?

I'm attempting to switch from Chrome to Opera on my main PC, since Opera has support for the extensions that I use (including AdNauseum, which not only blocks ads, but also fake-clicks them to screw up Google's revenue model even further). It's also able to use a number of Chrome extensions directly, even if there's no Opera version in the Opera store.

But when I went to install Infosextant on it, I saw that not only is there no Opera version, but the Chrome version has disappeared as well.

This reaches the level of treason in my mind. Arrest the key players and put them in Guantanamo Bay. Gut their management. That would electrify the base & insure we kept the majority in the house.

Is there really an alternative for anything other than infogalactic? The guy that owns gab may be a whack job, but I haven't heard of him suspending or shadow banning anyone. Maybe Trump has something up his sleeve. If not, it's going to be a long, hard row to hoe. The American right will be disenfranchised and South Africa / Nazi Germany will come to the US. Then it will be too late.

Antifa is just the first step to weaponizing socialism. This shouldn't surprise us. Patience is not going to win. Action always trumps patience.

The Facebook/Apple/Google/Etc. mass deplatforming of Alex Jones struck me as not so much collusion by allies as a single entity forcing those it controlled into doing what it wanted. Facebook and Google had ample opportunity to throw Jones out at various times in the past for made-up infractions but didn't do so---heck, just last year, Jones went ape one day when he said Google Ads had cancelled their account out of the blue. So they didn't need to coordinate to prove their lefty bonafides.

Facebook's stock suffered a massive (20%) drop just before the Jones deplatforming. I believe that this was a deliberate act by the Cabal--a warning to the Facebook/Apple/Google/Etc I believe at that point the Cabal was ordering the mass deplatforming, and dropped the stock of Facebook as a warning to the Facebook/Apple/Google/Etc. that if they didn't play ball their companies would suffer greatly.

Twitter tried to resist, and what happened when they didn't deplatform in time with the others? Twitter's stock also dropped in July, which was before the deplatforming, but can be seen as the Cabal taking issue with Dorsey's resistance behind closed doors---Dorsey was probably saying he couldn't deplatform when the others did because Jones did nothing wrong. You'll note mass media campaign began against Twitter to force deplatforming, which Twitter did a little by suspending Jones for a week.

It must be Orwellian irony that the central purpose and campaign, called Democracy Matters, would focus so much on silencing half the frigging country(!), beheading their leaders, imprisoning the more vocal, muzzling their news outlets, firing them from government and private industry, ruining the business of people who do not support the Leftist Liberal agenda, and a concentrated effort to purge all memory of the target population by re-write of history, removal of historic memorials, and banning words (customs and traditions) from the language.

How much more complete will the genocide become before it goes hot?

The guest list is of more interest to me than the memo. If the Founders could have secured their liberty with the deaths of only a hundred, I'm sure they would have. And this multi-national multi-platform mega-corporate conspiracy is the penultimate stage of a thought-control cult; the only thing left after is international gov't censorship.

Too dark? My ancestors fought and killed and risked death for their liberty and mine, nor did the Founders scruple to kill men in their beds; they did what worked and not what didn't. I would be ashamed if I could not at least contemplate the same with a cold eye and steady gaze, as the doing of a thing is a separate question.

When you can get wealthy right wingers who aren't Jews or cucks, maybe. It would take ppl like Musk, Notch, Thiel(one gay Jew, I guess), Kim Dotcom, etc.
to have the funds & take on the challenge.
None of the wealthy Breitbart Mercer family or Ben Shapiro/Eric Erickson funders like the Wilkes Bros, or traitorous Koch Bros, will be of any help. In fact, most would fight against it.
You're certainly not gonna get it out of the Romneys, McCains, the Sheldon Adelson or Peter Singer Jews.

@38 - As I mentioned upthread, Idka is ideally suited to bringing your own group to a private setting. By its nature, it is more "asocial media" meaning you won't see lots of public groups there, at least in the beginning.

WRT Mastodon and Keybase, Mastodon is an open source, decentralized Twitter clone. So your "Toots" are going out in a one to many way. These types of apps (Twitter/Gab/Mastodon) are great for branding and spreading information, but are not really about privacy and shielding users from scrutiny or from being monetized.

WRT to Keybase, Idka is a direct competitor and NexGen technology/functionality. Idka friending is based on a contract between the person you connect with and yourself. Idka doesn't have sharing functions which means what people say to each other can not be spread to others. Idka also has personal profiles and org. profiles. Idka combines functionality that Keybase has, with newsfeed similar to Facebook, cloud storage like DropBox and notes like Google Notes. Those things are not available on Keybase.

We are happy that Slack has competitors that are getting funded, because Idka's aim is to be better, and above all, more private and secure!
