He means it

Fake Pope Francine isn't actually joking:
Greeting journalists Saturday en route to Lithuania, Francis was given a book about the former pope by Polish photographer Grzegorz Galazka. Receiving the large book with a beaming John Paul on the cover, Francis quipped: "(Pope John Paul II) was a saint, I am the devil."
The servitors of evil just love telling everyone the plain truth in public. It's as if they're under a compulsion to do so. And you can't later claim you weren't warned.

Is this like the whole Vampire "you have to invite him into your home" deal? He has to tell you he's evil and you have to ignore it for him to prey on you?

It does strike me as the sort of constraint Satan would be okay with. "I can't take their souls unless I give them fair warning first? Well, that shouldn't be a problem, I know their weakness..."

One theory I've heard is that since God often reveals what he's going to do ahead of time and Satan wants to be like God, he tries to mimic that aspect, too.

Any acceptance of a lie, either explicit or implicit, makes you party to its telling, and opens you to the consequences of it.

Similarly, for any ignoring of the truth. Your very willing ignorance of it is itself an opening for evil and an attack on your source of life.

That's actually pretty astounding. We've learned that evil really does wear its symbols on its collective sleeve. If Francis "jokes" that he's the devil, that's not just him making a self-effacing comparison of himself to his widely admired predecessor. He is an agent of evil and he knows it and boasts of it.

Blogger Lyon September 23, 2018 3:25 AM

@8. Correct. JPII cannot be a Catholic saint, since he wasn't even Catholic.

The Chair of Peter has been vacant since 1958.

Since then the Vatican II sect has emerged as the counter-church. Under JPII it was a slow yet steady descent into heresy. Under Bergoglio/Francis it's more than obvious the descent is now in free fall.

John Paul II was the devil. It was he who made Open Borders part of the mission of the Catholic Church. It was he more then any Pope since Gregory the so called Great who made the Vatican an implacable enemy of civilization.

Francis by being such an open shitlib has so weakened the political influence of the Catholic Church that he has neutralized it as a power factor. Thus in spite of himself he has been very good for nationalists.

Evil men are under compulsion to speak the truth. It is very common in spies, they often joke about spying. In the intel world it used to be believed that this was a tactic to throw people off, it is now more rightly considered the pressure they are under. There are several examples of this, let me show you one in the fifth paragraph of the following story:

The portrayal of Mr. Nicholson in Government affidavits and in interviews with intelligence officers and diplomats who knew him in recent years is one of a headstrong and tightly wound man with an unconventional sense of humor. A candid photograph of him taken in rural Thailand 10 years ago shows him relaxing with three Thai women, a bandanna around his neck, wearing a T-shirt saying, ''K.G.B. is for me.''

Blogger Damelon Brinn September 23, 2018 9:20 AM

But all saints are sinners too.

A Catholic canonization is the Church saying that the person died with no unconfessed and unforgiven sin on his ledger, so he skipped Purgatory and went directly to Heaven where you can usefully pray for his intercession. It is also the Church saying the person lived an exemplary life (after conversion), worth imitation by all. Not perfectly sinless, perhaps, but close to it with no big blemishes.

Failing to do his job by shrugging off the homosexual infiltration is a pretty big blemish, even if you assume he confessed it at the end and received absolution. Even if his defenders claim he didn't believe it was that bad. If you have to say, "Imitate his spiritual devotion and his kindness, but not his spiritual leadership," that's a problem for sainthood.

Since canonization has always been considered an infallible act of the Church's authority, JP2's canonization is a pretty good piece of evidence that the people currently running the Vatican, who made that decision, have lost that authority.

look how many decades they go back. look how many decades they've been covering for and enabling pedophiles.

that behavior was extensive under JP2, and he had NO PROBLEM with it.

For overt hypnosis, this is true.

When covert methods are used, consent is not needed.

I've designed several ways (for different settings) to induce a hypnotic state without the subject being the slightest bit aware that they are being led into a hypnotic trance.

It's not difficult at all.

Re my post @39

If you answer to "WHO gave some humans the authority to choose people as saints" is one or more other humans, then your is wrong, because they have no such authority.

The correct answer is: NOBODY.

Therefore, there is no group of humans who have such authority.

This is just another example of the unholiness of the Roman [pagan] Catholic Church.

it's considered to be part of 'the Magisterium of the Church' and is getting on towards two thousand years old.

it's somewhat amusing to note that the opposition of Donatists ( supposed heresy ) to "...there had also developed in the Church a Roman sense of government, which insisted upon order at any cost, and this led to the phenomenon of the “imperial bishops,” men who had to be obeyed by virtue of their position, regardless of their personal holiness, and the distinction between “man” and “office.

indicates that this problem precedes all of the nominal Schisms which the Church admits too.

The infallibility of the pope has been explained to me this way. It does not mean he cannot make mistakes, like there is a good spell cast on him which would prevent it. It’s more like he is the umpire — someone has to decide things to keep things moving along. We could use an umpire in the current SCOTUS fiasco, for example.

Saint is not a heavily title but a human endorsement or nomination at best.

As for this pope and his current good natured catholic followers who are still clinging to him, they are probably unaware that we have had evil popes in the past, even the very distant past, and Christianity yet lives.

About 20 years ago, I read a thing called something like the prophesy of the last 10 popes, with the first one sometime in the 1800's. This was when John Paul II was still around. Well, Francis is actually that last pope of the prophesy, who is described as the "anti-Christ" that brings about the end of the Vatican and the Roman Catholic Church.

Francis might not have made his comment in jest. He was one of these "liberation" theology guys when he was in Argentina during the 70's and 80's, and was likely vehemently opposed to the Vatican and traditional Catholicism. So he may well be intentionally trying to destroy Catholicism. I would not be surprised if this was the case.

That's not true.

The old testament talks about Saints on several occasions; Moses being one among those who are referred to as saints, usually by prophets (and therefore it's implicit that such a designation is endorsed by god).

I've yet to hear of any Bishop, Archbishop, or higher in the Roman [pagan] Catholic Church ever described as a prophet, let alone demonstrated to be one.

Blogger Damelon Brinn September 23, 2018 12:09 PM

@39 Dirk, I'm not here to argue the Reformation. I'm saying that's what the Church means by sainthood. According to her own traditions and rules, the Church guarantees that saints are saintly people. Not saintly in many aspects while corrupt in a few. Overwhelmingly saintly across the board. That's why the Church used to take a lot of time to decide on it, and sent out the Devil's Advocate to try to turn up any flaws in the candidate. They don't do that anymore, and with JP2 they rushed him through because they desperately wanted a Vatican II saint. Now they're stuck defending his reputation no matter what comes out.

They're trying to canonize all the Vatican II popes, maybe even Benedict as a sop to conservatives. No one on earth believes the modern popes have all been that much holier than their predecessors, of whom only a third were canonized, but that won't stop them.

If you're basing that claim to authority on the basis that Jesus was supposedly telling a pun, that's pretty weak sauce, when one considers that Jesus is never documented as using a pun for any other important concept at any other time in his life.

Especially since the claimed pun doesn't even make sense in Aramaic; it's only a pun in Latin -- which Jesus was not speaking in.

I think this may be a useful read on distinguishing between sinful Popes versus flat-out heretical Fake Popes:

The "Bad Popes" Argument

One interesting excerpt:

To appreciate how important and serious this difference is between bad Catholic and Non-Catholic, let us take a look at one of the absolutely most immoral Catholic Popes in history: Pope John XII (reigned 955-963). Prince Octavian (his birth name) was only 16 years of age when elected, and he was a complete moral reprobate:

Nothing in his life marked him for this office, and everything should have kept him from it. He was rarely seen in church. His days and nights were spent in the company of young men and of disreputable women, in the pleasures of the table and of amusements and of the hunt, or in even more sinful sensual enjoyments. It is related that sometimes, in the midst of dissolute revelry, the prince had been seen to drink to the health of the devil. Raised to the papal office, Octavian changed his name and took the name of John XII. He was the first pope thus to assume a new name. But his new dignity brought about no change in his morals, and merely added the guilt of sacrilege.

Divine providence, watching over the Church, miraculously preserved the deposit of faith, of which this young voluptuary was the guardian. This Pope’s life was a monstrous scandal, but his bullarium is faultless. We cannot sufficiently admire this prodigy. There is not a heretic or a schismatic who has not endeavored to legitimate his own conduct dogmatically: Photius tried to justify his pride, Luther his sensual passions, Calvin his cold cruelty. Neither Sergius III nor John XII nor Benedict IX nor Alexander VI, supreme pontiffs, definers of the faith, certain of being heard and obeyed by the whole Church, uttered, from the height of their apostolic pulpit, a single word that could be an approval of their disorders.

At times John XII even became the defender of the threatened social order, of offended canon law, and of the religious life exposed to danger.

"but somehow can't seem to acknowledge the authority He assigned to others. Keep studying, you'll get it."

Liar putting on airs detected.

While I understand the thrust of the passage, it sticks out to me that this,

"There is not a heretic or a schismatic who has not endeavored to legitimate his own conduct dogmatically"

Is a convenient and purely subjective statement which circularly confirms its own assumptions. It may or may not be true, but it is irrelevant regardless because it produces no actual standard of delineation for the rest of the passage. Any person acting in any way contrary to the false authority the Popes attempted to usurp is immediately subject to this, even if they are contrary to the Pope and yet actually accordant with God in the same actions.

At the same time, those the RCC would deem heretics or schematics are held to be in sin by the RCC at least in part due to their very defiance of the RCC, and thus of course must either provide justification for that defiance or surrender it. The Pope on the other hand, having simply assumed this authority, has no need to defend his doctrine, though he might wish to defend his actions. His doctrine need only be established within the RCC -- whether rightly or wrongly.

The argument being made is therefore wholly facetious at best.

Certainly better arguments could be made in the same direction.

*schismatics.

@76 I would suggest reading that again. Jesus is crystal clear about who the judge is, moreover he gives stern warnings against those authorities who get it wrong. "It would be better that a millstone was tied around your neck and you were cast into the deepest sea..."

Steve Brown, I've been a practicing Christian since 1970.

@78

"Now tell me, what authority from God did Martin Luther have?"

The TRUTH.

And I'm *NOT* Lutheran.

Matthew 16:23: "Jesus turned and said to Peter, "Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns

Dirk Manly wrote:If you're basing that claim to authority on the basis that Jesus was supposedly telling a pun, that's pretty weak sauce, when one considers that Jesus is never documented as using a pun for any other important concept at any other time in his life.

If you look at what Jesus actually said, Simon Peter isn't the foundation at all.

17And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. 18And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

The rock is pretty plainly the Holy Spirit, pretty plainly not flesh and blood. Also, it's not Peter's church, but Jesus'. Later we see that Peter was never the preeminent disciple, despite having the loudest mouth.

The Roman Church is founded on a series of curiously self-serving traditions. It's funny how the Roman tradition never lessens the power or glory or riches of the Roman Church.

@90 and @91 Dirk, God bless you. Martin Luther said many things, are they all the TRUTH? And who decides? Keep me in your prayers, as I will you.

Blogger Dirk Manly September 26, 2018 8:04 AM

Martin Luther seems to be a lot closer to the truth than any "Pope" has been, since, by even accepting such a title, a man is in direct contradiction to the scriptural admonishment, "Call NO MAN your father, only your father in heaven."

The Catholic Church is just like the Talmudic Church --- BOTH of them put their "traditions" on a higher plane than the Word of God itself.

Blogger steve brown September 26, 2018 8:26 PM

@95 Dirk, you and yours are described in the 6th Chapter of John. After Jesus wills for all to eat His body and drink His blood, we are told many if not most walked away unbelieving in what you call the Word of God. Ever think about that? I urge you to re-read 71 verses in the 6th Chapter of John and to come once again believe in the Word of God.

And Dirk please look at this video, it explains a little about tradition.

What did Jesus say about those who hold the Traditions of Men above the Word of God?
