Darkstream: AH:Q 2.0 update

Watch the Darkstream. The upshot is that we anticipate launching the Alt-Hero: Q 2.0 campaign on Monday. We expect to use one site, but we have an alternative as a backup ready in case we encounter any problems launching on the first one.

Huzzah!

Blogger Tom M October 18, 2018 8:31 PM

In the Darkstream Vox asks if there are any original backers of AH:Q that aren't going to back the new effort.

Vox seems concerned that the Indiegogo debacle may have demoralized some of us.

HELL NO I'm not demoralized! Those effers just fired me up! I don't get how these libs think they'll be able to do anything other than encourage us to thump them harder.

I'm in AH:Q the day it opens at a level that's at least twice my original level.

Great listening, video appeared live along with this other one; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ez6b_KkI8ak

We're winning, its all good.

Good to hear!

Thanks for the update, Vox.

Let's Roll!

Blogger widlast washere October 18, 2018 9:23 PM

Vox, I was in for $25, which was a bargain BTW. Let us know what is needed and we'll make this happen.

Blogger Silly but True October 18, 2018 9:58 PM

Agreed. The example needs to be made.

Blogger lowercaseb October 18, 2018 10:04 PM

@2 I agree...I'm pumped for this as well. The craven antics of the usual suspects have made my blood hot, but it doesn't hurt that the story and the art of this run is top notch. I WANT to read it.

It looks like someone's death ray has fizzled.

SJWs aren't the only ones who can Double Down.

Blogger MortemTyrannus October 18, 2018 10:30 PM

I’m doubling my backing. No one gets to tell me what i can spend my money on. They can stick it where the sun doesn’t shine. I’m really pissed off.

Blogger Cetera October 18, 2018 11:17 PM

I'll be backing again, but not doubling. I'd love to, but have other financial commitments right now. Maybe towards the end of the campaign again, if the opportunity arises. But I'm definitely in for the hardcover.

Blogger S. Thermite October 18, 2018 11:53 PM

I contributed to the Voxiversity and original Alt:Hero campaign but not AH:Q because my budget was thin and it was already funded. Fgured I’d just buy hard copies later.

But the war has been escalated and the world is watching even more now so I’m in yet again! Surely not the only one here with the same sentiment either.

Blogger Chiva October 19, 2018 12:06 AM

Definitely going to double up. Hope the campaign is a resounding success.

Blogger MJ Meyers October 19, 2018 12:24 AM

Curious. Did anybody not back Del Arroz's IGG campaign due to the Alt-Hero treatment? I had an ancillary issue in that I had to order a new CC but I still could have simply used another payment method. But I probably still wouldn't have backed it only b/c of it being on IGG. I kind of feel bad about it. Conflicted. I feel dirty giving my $ to IGG, even if it's for something I like. Maybe that was their goal though...

I figure I'll just buy a bunch of his stuff on Castalia directly instead when my new CC comes in on Monday and then get the book when it comes out.

Blogger Careless Whisper October 19, 2018 1:03 AM

The sooner the business side is running smoothly and crowd funding is altogether left in the past, the happier a customer I'll be.

But in the meantime? I will happily throw in some screw-you dollars to whatever you go with. I mean... If we don't, the terrorists win!

Blogger Stan_qaz October 19, 2018 1:09 AM

Del Arroz's Ember War IGG campaign just fully funded today, guess he is going to have to sweat it out until the money arrives or they screw him too.

He made it to $23,208 so far, with 2 hours left before it closes.

I backed it when it first started, before this mess, last thing I'm doing on IGG.

I actually requested a refund from IGG for the Ember War pledge I made on the first day of the campaign.

After what they did with AH:Q, I'm not giving another cent to those assholes if I can help it.

I've been watching Jon's campaign very closely though, 'cause if it would have come down to my money being the difference between it going and not, I'd have backed it again.

It would have made me mad to give them that money, but I'd have done it.

But since the campaign has easily surpassed that point, I am content to purchase from Castalia Direct when it's finished.

I like Jon, and I know he was in a pickle here, but at this point I refuse to spend any money with people who hate me, even if it's incidentally.

I'm just glad it wasn't close enough that my money mattered.

Blogger michimartini October 19, 2018 2:52 AM

Will there be a way to double my commitment when i already chose the most expensive option in the original campaign? Because i really want to stick it to them.

Blogger dh October 19, 2018 3:49 AM

If this campaign is more successful then the first you have no damages.

@17: I'm out, too. That's a shame, because I've seen a couple of projects that looked interesting on IGG. Just can't stomach sending IGG another short term interest free loan, though, so those creators are now losing out thanks to their perfidy.

Blogger Resident Moron™ October 19, 2018 5:47 AM

I'm completely out of IGG - they can screw themselves without my money.

I like Jon's work and I appreciate his position given his campaign was already in flight, but that's his problem, not mine.

I will buy his output later.

Definitely a double-backer for AH:Q, because fuck you, that's why.

Blogger Silent Draco October 19, 2018 6:33 AM

Not demoralized by the IGG crap, but instead highly annoyed. This type of dealing is what got them shoved into lockers in high school. I should be able to double down, because this will give me even more entertainment than some other things.

If it gets to discovery on IGG, the resulting info and intel mapping may be quite informative. The infection vectors and attack points should stand out.

Blogger Azure Amaranthine October 19, 2018 6:58 AM

I didn't go in for the original raiser.

Now I'm going to.

Blogger Azure Amaranthine October 19, 2018 7:00 AM

"If this campaign is more successful then the first you have no damages."

You're insane. Also, "than".

Blogger Archimedes2017 October 19, 2018 7:59 AM

I thought I missed out on the Alt-Q campaign, now I can join the new crowdfunding effort. If that falls through I will just send a check. Looking forward to hearing about "Operation IndeGoGONE" in the coming weeks.

Blogger James Parliament October 19, 2018 8:12 AM

At least doubling down. Considering going full Foundation.

Blogger Gregory the Great October 19, 2018 8:38 AM

Just out of interest: Where the backers reimbursed for their credit card fees if any?

Blogger James Dixon October 19, 2018 8:39 AM

Movie equity funding? That's going to be interesting. I'll be in if I can afford to. Let us know. And I expect to double my Alt*Hero: Q donation on the first day.

Blogger James Dixon October 19, 2018 8:40 AM

Mine was credited back to my car on the 11th.

Blogger Bultz October 19, 2018 9:06 AM

@30 60 pence less than I donated

Blogger Gregory the Great October 19, 2018 9:13 AM

@33 Why don't you write to them demanding they reimburse that amount as well?

Blogger The Observer October 19, 2018 10:04 AM

I will be doubling down on the first day as well.

Blogger James Dixon October 19, 2018 10:12 AM

You may have been hit with a foreign transaction fee, since it's based in the US.

Blogger InformationMerchant October 19, 2018 10:18 AM

@30 Paid £31.55, got £30.16 back. Don't know if it was credit card fee, would expect it to be exchange rates between GDP and USD.

Blogger InformationMerchant October 19, 2018 10:50 AM

As you've now watched Infinity War, how do you feel about the contrast between that and Quantum Mortis (Vision and Gamora vs Kazi)?

Looking forward to the Jordan Peterson is Thanos Darkstream, although the left tried to give Thanos as many good qualities as possible: He's merciful and tries to avoid using vastly excessive force. He doesn't discriminate between the productive and the parasitical when trying to solve food shortages. He loses everything in order to continue the existence of life in the universe. He doesn't lie. He even adopts a little girl of a different species.

Also, like the Solo Star Wars movie, human and machine relationships are going in a strange new direction.

Still a reason to ask for a refund from these people - of only to make the point that they were wrong.

Blogger Josh Randle October 19, 2018 12:24 PM

Hey Vox, I wouldn't shut down appearing on different shows on YouTube. I had never heard of you until you appeared on The Public Space with JF recently. Since then I have become a major fan and bought your AODAT series (which is the best book I've read in 6 years) and all your alt hero comics. I plan on trying to support you in every way I can in the future. But i would never have been able to if I hadn't been introduced to you through JF. Gotta advertise your product in every way you can. Just something to keep in mind.

I seriously thought about it, and then put my AH:Q refund into JDAs campaign. But it's the last campaign I will support on IGG.

Blogger By My Greybeard! October 19, 2018 3:29 PM

@VD

Vox, I've never availed myself of your comics campaigns because I've sworn off.

I've recently discovered that a young man I know is a collecter, unhappy with the SJW themed comics. He's heard a lot about Alt-R from his social circle and so views its projects with a jaundiced-eye.

I'm strongly considering gifting him with AH:Q. I think it might breakdown the "mental barriers" so he'll follow his nature and analyze the philosophies.

Is there a way I can pay for this, but have his name and address on the stuff?

Thank you, in advance, for taking the time to respond to this oddball question.

Order it from Arkhaven Direct and put his name and address on the shipping.

Blogger Gus Gruel October 20, 2018 3:21 PM

I wont back the campaign but it is because I'm one of the odd ducks who prefer buying single issues of a series rather than graphic novel.

I don't expect a special backing tier for the type of reader I am but if there was one, I'd back it.
