Police are treating an attack in Melbourne’s Bourke Street mall in which one person was fatally stabbed and two others were injured as an incident of terrorism. The attacker was shot by police as the terrifying scene unfolded in Melbourne’s city district on Friday. He died later that night in hospital.Perhaps it was his anger over Australian meddling in the Middle East. I am not at liberty to disclose the identity of this person. He is known to police, mainly in respect to relatives that he has that are persons of interest to us. He is someone who is accordingly known to Victoria Police and the federal intelligence authorities.”
The man had a minor offending history of drug, theft and driving offences, lived in the north-western suburbs of Melbourne, and came to Australia from Somalia in the 1990s, he said.

What I find most disappointing is the number of people who will avoid violence by surrendering to it, and thus end up encouraging violence by rewarding it. By my lights when a person's conduct descends to the point where they are willing to violently confront and put at risk an armed cop, that is roughly the point were it should be acceptable to gun them down.
OT: The Democrats are openly and brazenly stealing the elections in Arizona and Florida. McSally, three days after election night, has lost her lead. Scott is barely holding on after three days of seeing tens of thousands of "votes" shaved off his lead, all coming from the very corrupt Broward county.
I'm still optimistic about Florida but Arizona looks like a lost cause, mostly because I don't see a single Republican speaking out against it, let alone DOING anything about it.
We have gun laws that are a US Democrat's wet dream. Semi-autos are banned. If you're able to jump through the hoops to obtain a firearms license, you have to keep any weapons and ammunition locked away separately. So in any emergency, they are useless. Not that self-defence or defence of property are valid reasons for obtaining a license nor for using a firearm. Just last year a man who scared off home invaders with an *unloaded* firearm was arrested and charged and had his license revoked and weapons confiscated.

I think Florida is doing marginally better because they have an army of lawyers and activists on both sides that descended on Broward that is making the blatant form of cheating hard to pull off. The shooter somehow managed to find (in Southern California) a country and western bar -- and attacked it on a Wednesday night, when it the crowd was largely made up of students from two nearby Christian colleges.

Hence my statement that anyone who immigrates here while single needs to have a condition put on them for staying that they MAY NOT MARRY anyone from within the same foreign ethnic, religious, or linguistic heritage. If they do, they get deported.
If you immigrate as a married person, the same condition is put on your kids.

English gun laws are just as strict, and the UK police report (in relative private, at international police conventions) that the price of a high quality, black market pistol is actually LOWER than before the gun bans went into effect. If someone wants to commit murder with a firearm, they just go down to a pub, find a sordid character with connections, and literally rent the pistol for a couple days, and then return it when they're done. (Which, of course, they will -- what possible shooting suspect wants to be found with a pistol in his home?)
