Shut them down

Given that they are the enemy of the American people, CNN is fortunate that the God-Emperor has merely denied the media a press pass or two rather than ordering drone strikes:
CNN White House correspondent Jim Acosta accused the Trump administration Wednesday evening of trying to shut down critical press coverage by revoking his credentials.

In an interview with CNN colleague Anderson Cooper, Mr. Acosta denied assaulting a White House intern earlier in the day — the stated reason — saying he was merely “trying to hang onto the microphone” after President Trump had instructed the young woman to take the microphone to give it to another reporter.

“It’s unfortunate that the White House is saying this,” Mr. Acosta said, going on to accuse the White House of trying to intimidate the rest of the press corps.

“I do think this is a test for all of us,” he said after Mr. Cooper had shown several supportive tweets from other White House reporters.

“I think they’re trying to shut us down … send a message to our colleagues,” Mr. Acosta said.
When their coverage is 98 percent critical, why give them any access at all? What is the benefit to either the Trump administration or the American people in doing so?

Not only shut them down, but declare them a public menace. Really hammer the point that their entire organization is corrupt and borderline treasonous. And back this statement up with plans to develop real tools to ensure the fake news checks itself.

Drone strikes are usually for blowing up relatively important targets, from what little I understand.

Spare the poor buttboy minions. Drone their employers. It's cheaper, and maybe the minions can be recycled for something else minion-related, like explaining to foreigners exactly why they have to go back.

It's only a hop skip and a jump to pull the big bosses up on sedition charges, I suspect.

I think that any president should invite whomever he wants to any White House press conference. The first time one of the bastards acts up, don't invite them back.

Invite some non MSM news organizations and independent reporters. Keep the group smaller, we don't need all those dudes who just sit there anyway.

We should never have a "White House Press Corp". We should invite real reporters. Let the propagandists do their thing without our help.

My 2 cents worth.

The original purpose of the press conference was to get the White House's views out there...

Because the press was the only way you could do that but that isn't the case anymore.

Letting self-important gas-bags like Acosta bloviate in front of the White House press secretary and then put a question mark on the end of it, is pointless in this day and age.

There is no reason to maintain a White House press corps.

And the part that scares them, is that deep down inside they know that one day there will be a president who figures that one out.

This guy is a joke. "I am the free press". News flash, he is a terrible reporter who can't help but make himself the center of every story he reports on. Ban him permanently, and tell CNN to send someone with manners next time or they will be shut out of all press conferences indefinitely.

At first Accosta and CNN will love that move. They will bluster and drone on about what a travesty it is for the press. As weeks turn into a months though, the story will fade and CNN will figure out they don't need a 7 figure White House correspondent who isn't allowed at the White House.

Indeed it does. I've noticed that Trump gets a lot of necessary, but not necessarily popular things done whenever the lamestream press is throwing a tizzy about some action Trump committed in reaction to their own bovine scatology.

Less likely scenario is that CNN has been captured by right leaning zionist symps who create such a spectacle of themselves that they auto delegitimize the press corpse.

Since the right won't stoop to the low levels of delegitimizing their enemies it is up to the enemies to delegitimize themselves.

I believe that Trump is going to start making examples of them. Freedom of the Press and Freedom of Speech have never been interpreted by ANY court to mean Freedom to make up lies and publish them, nor has any court recognized a Freedom to commit Libel and/or Slander.

Trump has made his point clearly enough that these people, and the companies they work for, do nothing but lie from sun-up until sundown.

Obtaining ANYTHING of value (i.e. money OR ANYTHING ELSE) on the basis of false statements is grounds for fraud indictments. And anything over $1000 of value generally becomes felony territory.

I think Trump is just setting them up, especially Accosta, to take the big fall. The really funny part is, they're the ones doing all the work -- no frame-up job needed. For being part of the "smartest race" and masters of the universe and God's Chosen People (to be made an example of .... over, and over, and over...), they sure are stupid.

I'm feeling confused (and a good bit demoralized). All this "Red October" celebrating all over the place... It's NOVEMBER, dammit! I didn't see any "Red" anything or "October" anything! Did I miss something big?

I don't see a lot of victory and rah-rah. I saw "Trust Sessions" turn into (less-than-)nothing. I saw the election turn out what might be okay but, for sure, not a flaming win for us! Are we just making excuses (again and again) for WHY our hopes are being smashed? (Well, at least no rioting lefties? But just wait for Atlanta to finish the whining and suing.)

I know, I know, wait three days for our God Emperor -- and I do and I will -- my faith in Trump is not shaken, although my HOPES for the most important of his actions are taking a beating. #Wheres-the-Wall?

(Finally!) "We're putting military on the border" -- but they won't be DOING anything to protect the country?! Then what's the point?!

ARE we just making up validity for Q -- as we (well, many thousands, including me early on) did for the Crazy Christ? Q 'makes noises' like what we want to hear; are we filling in the rest with our desperate hopes -- but it's just bafflegarble?!

Lately "Q" does NOT sound like the original Q -- all of a recent-sudden, he's really pushing the "kumbaya, we are the world" CRAP in so many messages! "We are all trying to save America, all races together, don't be divided" -- but that 100% does NOT apply to so very many paperwork Americans (as, witness the election barely past; demography = destiny; your skin is your uniform!)! How is it NOT just more manipulation of posterity to "lie down and think of ... England"?! (Do you young folks even KNOW that allusion?)

Where's a NEW anchor to hold on to? I will wait; I will listen closely to the Dark Lord and even try to pray (not there yet, alas)... but it's really hard.

Turn the CNN chair at press conferences into the People's Seat. Take applications from every podunk TV/radio station and newspaper that wants to apply, maybe bloggers too. Put them in a hat and choose one randomly for each scheduled press conference, give them the seat, and make sure they get to ask a question. If they can't show up, let them Skype it in.

Then make sure all of Acosta's comrades know their seats could be next.

Exactly. They were invited at a time when they were the only way to get information from the White House out to the masses. But now anyone with a video or streaming channel can do that just as well. For that matter, the White House could just publish a statement every day by text and video. If they want to do a question/answer format, they could take questions from live commenters.

There's nothing sacred about having a press secretary face a row of credentialed reporters. Although you could probably get a Hawaiian judge to say the 14th Amendment requires it.

Putting them on display for all to see is a good thing. EVERY news outlet will cover such confrontations, claiming that the GE is a big old bully meany person.

But half the country will see them as what they are -- boorish, stupid, ignorant, and needlessly antagnoistic.

I have never known "taking candy from a baby" to be all that easy. CNN will probably insist on the same access as the other "journalists". Of course, the media is treated much better than they used to be. I can remember when access to important politicians and decision-makers was much desired and only permitted for journalists who could be trusted to carry water without spilling it everywhere. Friendly journalists found a friendly reception in the halls of government, as they should. Yes, the media has ALWAYS been partisan in American history. Until fairly recently, many of the big city newspapers even used the name of their favored party as the name of the paper....Democrat or Republican....and the people in government knew them as semi-official party organs.

Thomas Jefferson hated newspapers. He said the only truth in the newspapers is the advertising. He also said...a man who reads nothing knows more than a man who only reads newspapers. That was a pretty good summary.

Trying to hang onto whose microphone?

So he was maintaining control of someone else's property by the use of force? Very different from assault, I guess.
