AH#5 Gold Logo now available

The gold logo edition of AH#5: London calling is now available for $2.99 from Arkhaven Direct. Please keep in mind that only the gold logos will be printed in the royal octavo size, as once we switch to the standard logo, we will also switch to the larger standard comic book size.

When London comes calling, death is knocking on the door.

The directors of the United Nations Superhuman Protection Council have learned the hard way that putting pressure on the families of the next-gen renegades is a game far too dangerous to play. But their newfound limitations does not mean they don't have other resources on which to call, resources that are every bit as dangerous as the superhumans they are hunting.

Alt★Hero is an exciting new line of superhero comics from Arkhaven Comics.

Don't forget that you can also back the Alt★Hero:Q 2.1 campaign in case you missed the two-day 2.0 campaign.

"They kidnapped my wife and children!"

Methinks the Director is omitting some key details.

Read, reviewed, but at Scamazon. Now this CBZ is an app and it is a $4.99 one at Apple, is this correct?

No. And no.

Excellent follow up to #4. I loved that it started in London with violence by the usual suspects. Lot's of truth to this fiction.

Put a short review up on Amazon, though at this point I'm running out of things to say that don't spoil the plot :P . The artwork's always good, as is the writing and storytelling, but saying as much gets a bit repetitive at times. Anyway, it was a fun read, so thank you to VD & the rest of the team.

OT

Our host from time to time exhorts us to Do Something, don't just sit back complaining but enter the lists in some capacity. I listened. This semester I enrolled at my local community college in an American Gov't class instructed by an ideologue. Experience as a reader of this blog prepared me to answer and question egregious falsehoods foisted upon us, "The first day of class you said MSNBC is Left, CNN is neutral, and FOX is Right news; however a Harvard University study determined CNN is 92% negative towards the Administration. 92% negative is not neutral." And so forth.

Last project in American Gov't class, I presented Roe v Wade. Ended with a slide titled Real World. It simply said, "55 Million Americans Dead" along with a stillshot photo from the video "Silent Scream" available on Youtube. First I read off the death toll in ascending order from the 13 greatest dictators of the 20th Century, beginning with Ho Chi Minh then Pol Pot, inserting the death toll of SCOTUS after Tojo, Lenin, and Hitler and just preceding Stalin. Then I finished quoting Norma McCorvey from her entry in Infogalactic,

"I was sitting in O.R.'s offices when I noticed a fetal development poster. The progression was so obvious, the eyes were so sweet. It hurt my heart, just looking at them. I ran outside and finally, it dawned on me. 'Norma', I said to myself, 'They're right'. I had worked with pregnant women for years. I had been through three pregnancies and deliveries myself. I should have known. Yet something in that poster made me lose my breath. I kept seeing the picture of that tiny, 10-week-old embryo, and I said to myself, that's a baby! It's as if blinders just fell off my eyes and I suddenly understood the truth — that's a baby!"

"I felt crushed under the truth of this realization. I had to face up to the awful reality. Abortion wasn't about 'products of conception'. It wasn't about 'missed periods'. It was about children being killed in their mother's wombs. All those years I was wrong. Signing that affidavit, I was wrong. Working in an abortion clinic, I was wrong. No more of this first trimester, second trimester, third trimester stuff. Abortion — at any point — was wrong. It was so clear. Painfully clear."

The comments received afterwards on 3x5 cards from the other students in class were humbling and poignant. One I will share is, "Thank you for telling the truth."

@VD,
Good job on another good issue!

I have a minor request: whomever(or whichever process) is populating the backer Kindle edition .mobi metadata, you've managed to cover just about every issue/title naming format imaginable:
AH001 Crackdown
AH02_rebelscell
Alt-Hero 3
The War in Paris
AH005

To be clear, this is the Kindle title that appears in my Kindle library.

Is it easy to settle on one?

If someone has to manually populate the information, I vote for just the "AHxxx" format to save time; pretty soon there will be too many issues to worry about individual issue titles. Even if auto populated, someone's typed it somewhere, and I think it's story title will still be less important than the issue number.

Thanks.

Ah, so that's what it does.... Sure, no problem.

Blogger Mr.MantraMan December 05, 2018 5:16 AM

I'll stick with kindle then, easy enough to use.

@11 Get 'em Beau. Plenty of value in having a dissenting voice appear in their midst. Sends the authorities into panic, and as you found out...brings out the support from those quietly listening.

Good on ya sir, keep em on their toes.
