Foreign entanglements

One significant aspect of immigration that is often overlooked is the way in which it tends to increase tensions between the two countries involved.

Speaking last month at a Washington think tank, Rushan Abbas relayed tales of suffering she had heard about China’s repression of ethnic Uighur Muslims — including the detention of members of her husband’s family in a widespread system of mass internment camps.

Within six days, Abbas’ ailing sister and elderly aunt disappeared from their homes in northwest China. No family members or neighbors have heard from them in more than a month.

Abbas is an American citizen and Virginia resident; her sister has two daughters and both live in the United States. They all assume the women are being detained in the camps, which Western analysts estimate hold up to 1 million people.

Abbas said they had fallen victim to the persecution against which she had been campaigning — and because of her.

“I’m exercising my rights under the U.S. Constitution as an American citizen,” Abbas, a business consultant, said from her 12th-floor office in Rosslyn, Virginia, overlooking the Key Bridge and Potomac River. “They shouldn’t punish my family members for this.”

Why should the USA care how China treats its own citizens? Why shouldn't China punish the family members of a disloyal citizen? And why should China care what happen to be the rights under the U.S. Constitution?

The neo-liberal world order is a huge, unwieldy mass of contradictions and false narratives. That's why it is collapsing even faster than the Soviet Union did.

Accepting the minimum truth

The Economist is attempting to square the circle between standing by its globalist principles while minimizing the inevitable political consequences of those principles:

Matteo Salvini, Italy’s hard-right interior minister, deputy prime minister and leader of its Northern League, is surging in the popularity polls. Mr Salvini is likely in due course to become Italy’s leader in large part because of his uncompromising stance on immigration. “People whose only contact with immigrants is with the Filipino servant who takes the dog for a walk in the evening are in favour of immigration, but they have no idea of how immigration is lived in the peripheries,” he said in July.

That, in a nutshell, is the charge made against smug liberals who champion “open borders”. They get all the benefits of large-scale migration from low-wage countries: cheap nannies, Uber drivers, decorators, waiters, sandwich-makers, chambermaids and dog-walkers. But they don’t rely on public housing, tend to have private health-care and often pay for private education so that their children are not brought up in classes where, in some cases, their native tongue is spoken by a minority.

Meanwhile those locals not so fortunate as the cosmopolitan elite (who kid themselves that they deserve their good fortune because they worked hard, ignoring that they started life on third base) often compete with people who will work for less because they are prepared to live in dorms or bedsits, having left their families at home.

It is a crude oversimplification. Economically, migrants are a net plus. European Union migrants in Britain, for example, typically contribute more in taxes and take less in benefits than the natives they ostensibly “compete” with. In global utilitarian terms, the benefits of migration to the migrants themselves are much greater than the downside, if indeed there is one, to the native-born. For the host country, more labour means a bigger economy, so that more money is available to be spent on the schools, hospitals and houses needed to accomodate the newcomers (though in these straitened times the money is often not spent on doing that). The liberal case for more immigration is pretty clear.

The trouble is, many liberal leaders forgot to ask citizens if they wanted large-scale migration from distant lands. And it turns out that a large number of them did not.

What the Economist calls "a crude oversimplification" is the truth. What is actually "a crude oversimplification" that is false is the claim that "economically, migrants are a net plus". That claim is only viable in certain circumstances, when GDP is substituted for native economic wealth per capita.

In fact, given the way GDP is measured, it is a tautology; moving the entire population of China into the United States would also be a net plus, economically. The Japanese invasion of Manchuria was also a massive net plus, economically. The fundamental error of the Economist is to assume that all economic growth is intrinsically desirable, no matter what the cost.

They moved in place

The civic nationalists just don't realize it yet.

That’s an important thing our side needs to grasp. For most white people, individualism, civic nationalist, anti-racism and so forth are what define their life as a citizen. To abandon those things would be the same as moving to another country. People do walk away from the friends and family to start new lives. Many of the people reading this have ancestors they knew, who left the old familiar to become Americans. For most Americans, though, this is the destination, so leaving it is like abandoning the point of their life.

The reality is, America is going to be a majority- minority country, at least while it remains a country. There is no changing that demographic reality. Robert Stacy McCain is right about “summoning men of goodwill to our banner.” We will need numbers to contend with the rising brown tide that threatens the West. It’s the “goodwill” part that our side must always keep in mind. Converting these normies is about convincing them that rooting for your own team is the moral thing to do, the thing men of goodwill do. That’s our challenge.

Key phrase: "while it remains a country". It won't. It can't. The empire is already observably in decline and unsustainable. The USA can no longer be considered a nation-state because the state is no longer synonymous with the nation.

The lies will not hold. They never do over time. All the nonsense about "men of goodwill" and "patriots bleed red" and "creedal nations" will no longer be believed by anyone, anywhere. It's already rejected by anyone of significant intelligence who is paying attention. So, signal your virtue all you like, proclaim the "Brotherhood of Man" to your heart's content, avert your eyes from the terrible reality if you must, but none of it will make any difference to those to whom you are so desperately signaling when the Red Horse rides.

The challenge posed by Zman isn't wrong, it's just irrelevant. It won't be too much longer before the ships are sunk and the caravans are strafed, because mass immigration is invasion.

Build your own sports platforms

Realty-based sports competitors are going to have to build their own platforms too, now that men are allowed to declare themselves women and clean up in most sporting competitions:

'For those of you who think I have 'folded' I have not. There's a group of us working on getting the rules changed but we are going to fight it offline, not in the name-calling angry world of social media. I'm choosing to move on in a positive way,' she wrote.

Dr McKinnon retweeted her commented and told her thousands of followers: 'This is why the apology is not accepted: she still thinks what she said. She merely apologizes for being caught saying it publicly. She wants to ban trans women from competing. They will fail: the IOC openly allowed us in 2003 and revised their policies in 2015. #MoveOn.'

Adding that the women fighting her inclusion in the sport should face punishment for breaking the rules of USA Cycling, she shared that they had carried out the exact behaviour the rulebook states is not allowed.

'I've been humiliated, they make me feel unwelcome at races, and saying that it's unfair (when I follow all the rules) is degrading and disparaging,' McKinnon tweeted.

Cycling isn't the only sport McKinnon loves; she was a junior provincial badminton champion, regional junior golf champion and club champion, won sport climbing competitions and was a professional poker player for six years.

She started competing at a professional level when she was 10 years old.

Writing 'Trans women are women. We must compete as women. We have rights, too,' McKinnon later compared her struggle to civil rights racial struggles.

'White people thought it was UNFAIR for black people to compete in sport. The very same tactics are being used against trans women athletes,' she posted.

The Union Cycliste International responded Friday in a statement that shared how the rules consider hormone therapy over gender reassignment and that the guidelines will be clarified later on.

'Although there are no queries concerning Women-Men (W-M) transgender athletes, whose situation – at UCI level as for all International Federations (IF) – is controlled by therapeutic use exemptions (TUE), the current situation concerns M-W transgenders,' they wrote.

'After some 18 months of substantial work, and after consultation with the IFs, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) should shortly announce guidelines covering the participation of M-W transgender athletes. This document should enable us to take into consideration, in line with the evolution of our society, the desire of these people to compete while at the same time guarantee as far as possible an equal chance for all participants in women’s competitions.

'The UCI will adapt its regulations according to the guidelines of the IOC.'

"Trans women" are not women, they are parodies of women and there is literally nothing female about them. Anyone who says otherwise is a confirmed science denier. However, the convergence of the sporting associations means that the only way to stop this nonsense is not through changing the rules, or defining the guidelines more realistically, but by simply refusing to compete with any athletes competing in the wrong sex class.

I won't be surprised to see mediocre heavyweights declaring themselves lightweights someday, as we've already seen men in their twenties playing in veteran's leagues as well as individuals with IQs in the normal range pretending to be retarded and winning gold medals in the Paralympics.

Understand that forcing you to publicly declare that there are five lights is the entire point here. That's why trans sports are one of the many false narratives presently being pushed by the Empire of Untruth.

Yuimetal has left Babymetal.

I have been absent for a while and I am really sorry for the inconvenience caused to many people.

Metaphor

One simply can't argue that the decline of Britain and the West is undeserved. What else could possibly have been expected to result from importing tens of millions of differently-civilized aliens from foreign and less-developed societies?

This is the shocking moment a thug attacks a terrified pensioner as the old man begs for mercy on a residential street in Birmingham.

The distressing clip shows the attacker grab the elderly man and violently throw him to the ground leaving his victim on the floor groaning in pain.

The appalling attack, filmed in the leafy suburb of Moseley, Birmingham, is believed to have taken place on October 16 and the video shared across social media.

I feel absolutely no sympathy whatsoever for old people who are mistreated by immigrants and their descendants, whether it is on the streets or in the nursing homes. Pity the young instead, who never supported the invasion nor had any opportunity to resist the invasion.

Besides, old people being beaten up is good for the economy.

Backing down on the "Blue Wave"

The media knows they've failed to successfully push their false narrative about a big Democratic voting wave next month, so the pollsters are already backing away from their predictions in order to avoid looking foolish again:

Independent analysts have recently downgraded the number of seats Democrats are expected to flip. Two weeks ago, Cook Political Report’s David Wasserman predicted Democrats could pick up 30 to 40 seats; now he puts the range at 25 to 35. Wasserman estimated that Republicans have a 30 percent chance of keeping the majority.

By November 4th, that prediction will be 5-10 seats.

Jordanetics causes incel

What a wonderful influence for young men! This account by a Jordan Peterson fan is almost too funny for words. Suffice it to say that it provides evidential support for my assertion that listening to Jordan Peterson is not going to improve your life.

I found out about Jordan Peterson about a year ago and since then I became a huge fan. I was never a big reader, but I got all of his books. (They are the only books on my bookshelf and also a book about John F. Kennedy my aunt gave me but I never read. So I don't have many books and its a small shelf.)

I am 19 years old now. I met my girlfriend when we were 17 in high school. When I was 18 I moved out and began to go to the local university. My girlfriend is the same age as I am and she started classes there too. When I moved out is around the time I started reading Dr. Peterson's work and I took the battle against chaos to heart. Mostly because I was a very messy person before. So I kept my new room very clean (I have a roommate who helps) and I was finally able to decorate it the way that I wanted since I moved out. Mostly I kept it simple and tasteful but I also have a big poster of Dr. Peterson in my room.

When I began to see how important Dr. Peterson had become in my life I started trying to get my girlfriend interested. But she did not seem very interested. I thought he could help her a lot, because when we met and she lived at home she was a very messy and chaotic person also. We both were then. Since she moved out also and got a roommate it has gotten even worse for her. I would say her room is about fifty percent messier than it was. She is slouching a lot. She is also very disorganized with her classes and note taking (somehow she is still getting all As, I got all As too my first semester but I also got two Cs). I can't even read or understand the notes she takes for her class. I tried to tell her to be more organized and less chaotic with it, that it would help her more, but I think it got annoying for her to hear it.

Anyway when we would hang out I would try to get her to listen to Dr. Peterson's lectures but it always seemed like a chore or like she didn't really want to. I found it really frustrating because he was so inspiring for me. Eventually I stopped putting them on because I would hear and see her sigh in an exaggerated way when I would put YouTube on with his lectures.

Not long ago it was coming up on the day that we met (our anniversary) and we had a nice dinner at a seafood place we both really like. A few days later I got us tickets to see Dr. Peterson speak. I had hoped that it would be better than the videos. She seemed excited to go and we had a nice night together.

The next day we didn't talk, which is normal these days with school and stuff. I sent her a text message the day after and she didn't respond which I thought was weird. Then I did it the day after and still no response. She didn't write back to me for four days! Until I sent her a long message just asking for an explanation for why she ghosted me or at least let me know she is okay.

A few days later she finally sent me a long email. She said that she wanted some space and that she needed to think. That things were changing and that they weren't the same as they were. She actually blamed Dr. Peterson for changing me! Which is true but I thought I changed for the better.... I talked to a mutual friend of ours and she told me some things really candidly. Our friend said that after seeing Jordan Peterson in person my girlfriend was really weirded out. Because I cried a little bit there and there were other men crying too. (I didn't think this was fair, there is no shame in crying.) Also that she felt like following Dr. Peterson's advice made me kind of less fun and more boring than how I was when we met at 17.

Jordan Peterson quite literally causes women to not want to have sex with men. Case closed.

Like monkeys analyzing Aristotle

The New York Times attempts to explain the NPC meme to NPCs:

It’s a long story, but the short version is that a group of young, extremely pro-Trump internet trolls have spent the past several years mocking anti-Trump people as whiny, easily triggered snowflakes who are primarily motivated by social acceptance rather than by logic and critical thinking.

Many of Mr. Trump’s supporters — including, as of last week, Kanye West — put their support for him in the language of freethinking rationality and paint the other side as being motivated by blind loyalty and identity politics. (Mr. West said of his pre-Trump-supporting days, “I was programmed to think from a victimized mentality.”)

The NPC meme fits neatly into this narrative and offers Mr. Trump’s online supporters an easy shorthand way to paint liberals as humorless prudes who say “Drumpf” because the HBO host John Oliver told them to, who march in protests and put on pink “pussyhats” because they’re the popular things to do, and whose views can’t withstand scrutiny.

(And then, when progressives object to a meme that portrays them as unthinking automatons, it becomes another piece of evidence: See? The left can’t take a joke.)

It wouldn't sting if it wasn't true. And the Left observably can't take a joke. That's why it attempts to deplatform and silence everyone who cracks wise at their expense.

It's all a bit meta at this point, as what the NYT is really doing here is programming the NPCs to point-and-shriek: "NPC meme racist!"

Do your job

The God-Emperor should be angry. If invaders are still crossing the border, then someone clearly isn't doing his - or her - job.

President Donald Trump’s chief of staff and his national security adviser engaged in a heated argument outside the Oval Office on Thursday, according to three people familiar with the episode.

The chief of staff, John Kelly, and the national security adviser, John Bolton, fought over immigration and border crossings, including the performance of the Homeland Security Department under Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen, one person familiar with the matter said. She was at the White House for meetings on Thursday, but the people disagreed about whether she witnessed the argument.

Bolton criticized DHS, and Kelly defended Nielsen, a former deputy whom he supported to replace him at the department. Two people described the exchange as less a shouting match than an intense argument. Kelly then stormed away, so upset that he uttered some profanities.

Bolton and Nielsen had a good conversation after Kelly and Bolton’s argument, a White House official said. Both believe the goal is to protect the border, the official said.

Trump has lately expressed fury about a large group of migrants who are traveling from Honduras toward the U.S. border. He vowed Thursday to deploy the military and shut down the Mexican border unless the migrants are turned back.

I don't pretend to know the real deal. Perhaps it is kabuki to keep the mainstream media occupied. But Kelly too often comes across like a true blue Swamp creature whose primary job is to convince Trump not to follow his instincts.

A former senior Facebook engineer who wrote a memo earlier this year decrying the social media giant's "political monoculture" told Fox News on Tuesday night that the company has a "vocal minority" intent on implementing "social justice policies across our mission."

Brian Amerige, whose last day at Facebook was Friday, told Fox News' "Tucker Carlson Tonight" that "you can't have conversations about ... anything that's a tenet of the social justice ideology, effectively, without being attacked personally." He added that the company's recent policy cracking down on so-called hate speech was a particularly sensitive topic.

"You can't even have conversations about that policy inside the company without having your character attacked -- and I've experienced this personally -- without being called a sexist or a racist or a transphobe or an Islamophobe," said Amerige.

Amerige drew national attention in August when he penned an internal memo, "We Have a Problem With Political Diversity." The memo, which was later leaked to The New York Times, stated that Facebook employees "claim to welcome all perspectives, but are quick to attack — often in mobs — anyone who presents a view that appears to be in opposition to left-leaning ideology."

On Tuesday, Amerige said that Facebook executives had taken his concerns seriously and had worked with him to improve the hate speech policy. However, he said rank-and-file, left-leaning employees did not share his concerns.

"The real concerning thing that’s happening here is that even though this is a minority of employees in the company, unfortunately, I’m not sure that Facebook leadership knows how to push back against them," Amerige said. "They're unbelievably belligerent, demanding and hostile not just toward other employees, but toward Facebook leadership directly."

On a much smaller scale, this is exactly what happened to Bleeding Cool after they ran the interview with me. It's what happened to Google with regards to the James Damore incident and the subsequent aftermath. If a corporation's executives do not systematically weed out their SJW infestation, the SJWs will eventually transform their influence into effective control of the corporation, even when they don't hold the executive positions themselves.

And once SJWs metastasize inside a corporation and they take over HR or the corporate board, the corporation is doomed.

Fake families are dyscivilizational

The family is the building block of civilization, particularly the Western form of civilization. That is why the increasing percentage of illegitimate births across the West is such a devastating indicator of civilizational decline.

An increasing number of births happen outside of marriage, signaling cultural and economic shifts that are here to stay, according to a new report from the United Nations.

Forty percent of all births in the U.S. now occur outside of wedlock, up from 10 percent in 1970, according to an annual report released on Wednesday by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the largest international provider of sexual and reproductive health services. That number is even higher in the European Union, where 60 percent of births occur outside of marriage.

The EU likely sees more births out of wedlock because many member countries have welfare systems that support gender-balanced child care, said Michael Hermann, UNFPA's senior adviser on economics and demography, in an interview. Public health care systems, paid paternal leave, early education programs and tax incentives give unwed parents support beyond what a partner can provide.

The data show such births in the U.S. and EU are predominantly to unmarried couples living together rather than to single mothers, the report says. The data suggest that societal and religious norms about marriage, childbearing and women in the workforce have changed, said Kelly Jones, the director for the Center on the Economics of Reproductive Health at the Institute for Women’s Policy Research.

Jones also noted that the rise in births outside of marriage is closely correlated to delays in childbearing. “Women are claiming their ground professionally,” she said. “Delaying motherhood is a rational decision when you consider the impact it can have on your career, and that’s contributing to this trend.”

The average age an American woman has her first child is now 27, up from 22 in 1970. As the marriage rate has fallen in the U.S.—and those who do tie the knot do so later in life—the number of adults in cohabiting relationships has steadily risen. This shift is most evident among those under age 35, who represent half of all cohabiting couples.

The traditional progression of Western life “has been reversed,” said John Santelli, a professor in population, family health and pediatrics at Columbia’s Mailman School of Public Health. “Cohabiting partners are having children before getting married. That’s a long-term trend across developing nations.”

This is a direct consequence of the de-Christianization of the West over the last 120 years. As I have repeatedly pointed out, you cannot remove ANY of the three pillars of Western civilization from your society and expect it to survive intact. It will not.

There was considerable discussion, strategery, and analysis of both the IGG situation and the upcoming movie project intermingled with excellent food provided by a Spanish chef who skillfully reinvented everything from paella to the burger. The wines were phenomenal, ranging from the local Priorats to my favorite Ribiero del Duero, and at the request of one attendee, we even did a live Winestream sampling an Israeli cabernet. We also did a live Voxiversity on rhetoric and dialectic that will be out in November.

NPC is excellent rhetoric

The proof of the effectiveness of a rhetorical term is in the emotional reaction of the target. And the targets, they are most certainly reacting:

The new “NPC” meme mocks leftists by depicting them as unthinking and reflexive automatons. The meme has upset the left so much that Twitter is now banning people posting it for “dehumanizing speech,” but its humble origins are the computer-controlled characters of limited intelligence found in most video games.

The popular NPC meme trend frames its targets as non-player characters (NPCs) who reflexively spout neo-Marxist axioms in response to real-world events. Actual NPCs are computer-controlled characters in video games with limited scripted responses given the parameters of the games in which they appear. For example, NPCs may assign quests to the player in games like Skyrim, or join the player as a companion in Fallout.

Built on the long-running Wojak meme, the NPC meme mocks leftists as expressionless in appearance and bot-like in behavior. The universal standard appearance illustrates the left’s political homogeneity.

 And, as those who have read SJWs Always Lie know, rhetoric is effective because it points toward the truth. SJWs don't think for themselves. They change their beliefs as the Social Justice Narrative evolves and when the Narrative is in conflict with objective, material reality, they insist that the Narrative is true. They do as they are instructed, they do as they are programmed, as we saw in the recent self-destructive decisions by Bleeding Cool and Indiegogo.

They are, in a word, Non-Player Characters.

I suspect that the reason the rhetoric is so effective is that it is most utilized in the very technological spaces that are populated by the people who are most familiar with the acronym. One senses the fine hand of GamerGate at work in this. And there is nothing that hurts the feelings of a prideful SJW who firmly believes he is smarter and more thoughtful than most than a contemptuous observation of the fact that he does not even think for himself. It also lends itself very well to visual rhetoric, aka meming.

How do we know it's effective? Because the Social Justice Thought Police are already attempting to bury it.

Twitter suspended 1,500 accounts that were using the NPC meme as their avatar.

Rorshach reviews banned Bleeding Cool interview

BC: You often refer to a formula which says: Diversity + Proximity = War. And you use diversity in this sense to mean ethnic diversity. Does it apply to ideological diversity? Does a comic book publishing company which has a politically diverse staff and group of creators become stronger?

VD: Yes, ethnic diversity combined with proximity is one of the primary historical drivers of war. In fact, the great Israeli military historian Martin van Creveld, who we have the privilege to publish at Castalia House, has concluded that human migration is so closely intertwined with war that they are essentially two sides of the same coin. Ideological diversity can certainly lead to war, as the case of the Spanish civil war demonstrates, but it is usually intranational war rather than international war.

The concept is really not that hard and underlines my case against pan-racial nationalism. DNA says nothing about one's tribal heritage, because tribe is a subset of nation, which is itself a subset of race. Pan-racial tribalism is even less viable than pan-racial nationalism.

Brexit fake drama

Does the British Prime Minister really believe that her "last-minute deal" to prevent a clean Brexit is going to fool anyone?

Theresa May is trying to steady her restive Cabinet today as she braces for a crucial 48 hours that could decide the fate of Brexit.

The Prime Minister has gathered her senior team amid desperate efforts to get negotiations with the EU back on track.

After dramatically pulling the plug on a fledgling divorce agreement on Sunday, Mrs May has been frantically ringing round fellow leaders to appeal for a shift in their position.

Tomorrow night she will make a make-or-break pitch to EU counterparts at a summit in Brussels - with council president Donald Tusk warning that a chaotic no-deal Brexit is now ‘more likely than ever before’. German minister Michael Roth said this morning that Mrs May needed to 'take responsibility' for the talks.

In signs that concerns are growing within the Cabinet, around a third of the ministers met over pizza in Commons Leader Andrea Leadsom's office last night to consider the state of play.

Four senior figures including Mrs Leadsom are thought to be ready to resign if the PM goes too far in concessions to the EU.

We've all seen this show before. Lots of posturing. Threats of no deal. Talks go down to the wire. Britain caves on nearly everything, the Europeans give no ground at all. Then, at the last minute, the Europeans toss Britain a minor bone, declares how tough the British negotiator is and what a bitter pill the compromise is to swallow, and having sold out Britain, the British negotiator triumphantly comes home with a treaty declaring peace in our time.

Eurosceptic MPs accused No 10 of manufacturing a ‘confected row’ with the EU to distract attention from a potential sellout. Former Brexit minister Steve Baker said the breakdown in talks was ‘almost certainly theatre’.  

This isn't merely obvious theater, it's how everyone knew Theresa May was going to try to minimize Brexit from the moment she became Prime Minister. No deal is always considerably better than any deal with the devil.

Following several months of anticipation, the BBC has unveiled official stills from its blockbuster six-part TV adaptation of Les Misérables.

A star-studded line-up, including Lily Collins, Ellie Bamber, Olivia Colman and Dominic West are seen in period costume for the upcoming drama — which, it has been revealed, will not be a musical.

And the network has broken new ground by casting a black actor, Selma star David Oyelowo, as Javert – a part played by Russell Crowe and Geoffrey Rush in recent film versions of the tale, set in 19th century France.

We were watching The Frankenstein Chronicles on the recommendation of one of our authors. It's set in 1827, so when the second African character was introduced, it was openly distracting enough to make everyone laugh. It's just ridiculous.

As a bonus, Thenardier is apparently an Arab.

Vox was right

A while back, I wrote a post defending Jordan Peterson against Vox Day’s criticisms. My claim was that while Jordan Peterson’s value is somewhat exaggerated by many of his followers, for whom his ideas seemed new and extraordinary, Vox Day’s claims seemed exaggerated. Vox argued that Peterson was an existential relativist, that he was controlled opposition, that his teachings are more harmful then helpful, and that he was simply insane. All of that seemed wrong, at least hyperbolic. To me, Peterson seemed like a modern Joseph Campbell, essentially a mythologist just teaching the moral stories of myths with the rhetorical skill of a showman. For a generation immersed in social-media and public-school propaganda, this seemed like a generally good thing, especially when coupled with his opposition to bill C-16.

To set the tone for this post, it is only now that I remember that his opposition to this bill was unsuccessful. The bill was passed on June 19, 2017. Not only was it unsuccessful, but Peterson had promised to go to jail if necessary, were the bill passed and accusations of violating said bill brought against him. At the time, it seemed rather admirable. But given the amount of fire he’s been under, it seems strange that his opponents have found no opportunity to challenge his conviction on the matter. Rather than being on hunger strike in some jail, he’s been traveling around the world on tour with his book.

I’m not saying Peterson should actively be hunting out a jail-term in order to be consistent, as that was not what he had promised. But the situation seems a bit incongruous, and most people don’t remember what it was that brought him to popularity in the first place. With the help of a little bit of recollection, however, I have come to believe that Vox Day was, in fact, right about Dr. Peterson.

That pair of comments on the original post haven't aged well. In fairness to those who were snowed by the Canadian Conman, old Uncle Jordy is extremely dedicated to confusing and confabulating his audiences.

Remember, falsehoods have consequences. That's what makes them false.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) made public the results of a DNA test on Monday, which an expert said shows “strong evidence’’ that she has a Native American ancestor.

Warren provided the test results to The Boston Globe on Sunday, the newspaper said, “in an effort to defuse questions about her ancestry that have persisted for years.” According to the paper, the disclosure is another strong sign that she is seriously considering running for president.

“The vast majority” of Warren’s ancestry is European but “the results strongly support the existence of an unadmixed Native American ancestor” six to 10 generations ago, according to Carlos D. Bustamante, a Stanford University professor who analyzed the results.

This means she could be 1/32nd Native American, or just 1/512th Native American if the ancestor is 10 generations back.

The thing I find amusing is that the same people who insist that I can't possibly be an American Indian despite the undeniable fact that I possess considerably more Indian blood than Warren will turn right around and assail the God-Emperor for mocking her claims.

Mailvox: the fearless and the feckless

In the spring of 2017, Jordan Peterson made some videos talking about how impressed he was with Milo. How Milo is the "unstoppable court jester." How "bold" and "fearless" Milo is. He said this with passion, and I thought it was actually pretty interesting. But then fast forward a year and Jordan Peterson is sitting in Aspen Colorado with some phony journalist from the New York Times. She asserts out of the blue that Milo is a "racist." What does Jordan Peterson do? He sits there and nods and acts like he agrees. Then he insists that he is not a "fan" of Milo's and tries to pretend like he doesn't know who Milo is. The whole thing was a lie. Meanwhile, his whole talk involved the importance of not telling little lies.

It's really rather impressive how relentlessly hypocritical Jordan Peterson is. As I've observed previously, if you don't like something he says, just wait five minutes and he'll say something that completely contradicts it.

538 is EVEN MORE confident

The God-Emperor's triumph is all-but-certain now. FiveThirtyEight thinks the Democrats' chances of winning the House are more than five percent higher than Hillary Clinton's probability of winning the Presidency:

It was this week two years ago that Hillary Clinton’s victory looked assured, when the infamous “Access Hollywood” tape of Donald Trump bragging about sexual assault appeared all but certain to end his campaign.

Jesse Ferguson remembers it well. The deputy press secretary for Clinton’s campaign also remembers what happened a month later.

It’s why this veteran Democratic operative can’t shake the feeling that, as promising as the next election looks for his party, it might still all turn out wrong.

“Election Day will either prove to me I have PTSD or show I’ve been living déjà vu,” Ferguson said. “I just don’t know which yet.”

Ferguson is one of many Democrats who felt the string of unexpected defeat in 2016 and are now closely — and nervously — watching the current election near its end, wondering if history will repeat itself. This year, instead of trying to win the presidency, Democrats have placed an onus on trying to gain 23 House seats and win a majority.

The anxiety isn’t universal, with many party leaders professing confidently and repeatedly that this year really is different.

But even some of them acknowledge the similarities between the current and previous election: Trump is unpopular and beset by scandal, Democrats hold leads in the polls, and some Republicans are openly pessimistic.

FiveThirtyEight gives Democrats a 76.9 percent chance of winning the House one month before Election Day. Their odds for Clinton’s victory two years ago? 71.4 percent.

It's going to be delicious when the reality that there is no Blue Wave finally hits them in the face like a kayaker being struck in the face with an octopus by an otter.
