The desecration of Saint Solzhenitsyn

The Neo-Palestinian Ekaterina Jung - who calls herself "Cathy Young" now that she wants to convince everyone that she's a Real American who loves hot dogs, apple pie, and baseball just as much as anyone else - sends a strong signal that Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn is in the process of being added to the Neo-Palestinian blacklist in her hit piece entitled "Solzhenitsyn: The Fall of a Prophet":
The 100th anniversary of Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn’s birth on December 11 was an occasion for many tributes. A decade after his death, Solzhenitsyn remains one of the past century’s towering figures in both literature and public life. His role in exposing the crimes of the Soviet regime is a historic achievement the magnitude of which can hardly be overstated. But his legacy also continues to be the subject of intense debate among people who share his loathing of that regime—and those controversies, which have to do with freedom, traditional morality, and nationalism, are strikingly relevant to our current moment.

Solzhenitsyn was once my childhood hero. Growing up in the Soviet Union in the 1970s, in a family of closet dissidents, I knew him as the man who defied the system and told the truth about its atrocities—the man idolized by my parents, especially my father, himself the son of gulag survivors. I was eleven when Solzhenitsyn was arrested and expelled from the Soviet Union; our Stalinist political instructor at school bellowed that he should have been shot as a traitor. A year or two later I heard excerpts from The Gulag Archipelago on foreign radio broadcasts; then, the coveted book appeared for a short while in our home.

Later, after my family emigrated to the United States in 1980, Solzhenitsyn’s heroic halo gradually began to lose its luster in our eyes. We were hardly alone; as the years went by, many of his erstwhile admirers came to believe, with bitter disappointment, that Solzhenitsyn could no longer be seen as a champion of freedom and justice.
The real reason for Jung's rejection of her former hero Solzhenitsyn, of course, is that because Russia is now Hitler. The Neo-Palestinians are furious that the Russians under Vladimir Putin have managed to shake off the leash of liberal imperialism that the Neo-Palestinians, unlike their considerably more sensible nationalist cousins in Israel, so fervently support. And I suspect that this new anti-Solzhenitsyn campaign is founded in the realization that the eventual publication of Solzhenitsyn's Two Hundred Years Together in English, whenever that finally happens, is going to completely explode the myth of the poor innocent Neo-Palestinians who never did nothing to nobody nowhere, once and for all.

Ha. In other words, Solzhenitsyn is no longer good for Jews, so its time to destroy him if possible.

Every. Single. Time.

Opposition to Jewish ambition “to impose its rule on other nations”, be it globalist, communist, mulitcult, or 'liberation', is not anti-Semitism, even if the Jews want to portray it that way.

The West has a duty to prevent Jewish subversion of identity, faith and morals.

Its so prevalent if you take the blinders off.

There is such a galling opposition is seeing 2 Jews (Schumer and Pelosi) as the public and unrepentant driving force in opposition to the defense of the American nation.

Its not unique to just America.

Here's a leftist in France who is even more explicit in the agenda:

Climate: limiting European births "would better accommodate migrants," said Yves Cochet

Yes, Europeans should stop having a future to accommodate more migrants.

And I suspect that this new anti-Solzhenitsyn campaign is founded in the realization that the eventual publication of Solzhenitsyn's Two Hundred Years Together in English, whenever that finally happens, is going to completely explode the myth of the poor innocent Neo-Palestinians who never did nothing to nobody nowhere once and for all.

Or they'll succeed in suppressing it indefinitely, and eventually write him out of history...
There's a samizdat translation of "200 Years Together" floating around the interwebz, for what that's worth.

To expand on the Tribe's about-face on the status of Solzhenitsyn -- "200 Years Together" was the capper, but it had been building for a while before that. J-right "anti-communism" has always been anti-Stalinism, so they found that aspect of his writing useful... for a time. Someone writing in a similar manner about life under Lenin would not have been received in the same way, to say the least. And criticizing Saint Bronstein? Fuggedaboudit.

But after Solzhenitsyn's defection, he made some rather trenchant observations about the condition of American society, and the West in general, that were... not well received by the Tribe. See his 1978 Harvard commencement address, for example.

The Jackson-Vanik Amendment was passed in 1972
.
https://infogalactic.com/info/Jackson-Vanik_Amendment
Throughout the 70s, 80s, and 90s, increasing numbers of Overseas Israelis left the USSR/ Russia for the US (and for Israel).

After the collapse of Communism, the J-right and j-left narratives with respect to Russia and Communism mostly converged. Fun fact -- "leftist" Jewish ethnic activist (((Soros))) and his NGOs were a major factor in the transition from Communism to neoliberalism in Eastern Europe. Communism was a minor inconvenience sometime way in the past, soon to be forgotten.

Solzhenitsyn returned to Russia, and supported Putin. Now that Russia has been officially designated as Amalek, and Putin as Haman/ Hitler, in both J-right and J-left narratives, Solzhenitsyn becomes a little... problematic, even without "200 Years Together."

The best he's going to get is something like this (writer is apparently a goy, but published in the NYT):

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/12/11/opinion/solzhenitsyn-soviet-union-putin.html

TL;DR: good guy, but taken in by the evil Putin in his later years, and increasingly irrelevant. No mention of 200YT, of course.

It's pretty clear that Solzehnitsyn's star undeservedly stopped rising after his Harvard address in 1979, as philosopher Dr. Peter Kreeft explains in his 2015 Stuebenville speech. Kreeft contends Solzehnitsyn's address was a rhetorical and philosophical masterpiece, and gives evidence to support this contention.

It's worth listening to Kreeft's speech, for which I leave two links:

I noticed more than one comment on the article critical of the post authoress for attacking Solzhenitsyn's support of nationalism. To her, support of a National people to have its own government organization run for them and by them is a horrible act that can work to undo a man's opposition to concentration camps. That shows a disgusting throw away attitude to such an important action as exposing the camps.

Then, the authoress takes issue with Solzhenitsyn's criticism of Western society. Sure, the polysynthetic and immigrant driven nature of our current Western nation states proves the destruction that can occur by allowing bankers and communists to control democratic countries. From the defection and testimony of Yuri Bezhmenov, we know this vulnerability was identified and exploited by the SU. So of course, the authoress decided to criticize Solzhenitsyn's advice to avoid turning out countries down the same path.

At the beginning of the article, the authoress is deceptive by stating that Solzhenitsyn's reputation is being tarnished after his death. Of course it is, SHE is the one tarnishing it after he died and can no longer defend himself!

It is; though perhaps blunted by the US being "post-literate" as our host puts it: with a less important role of literacy in social-life, the major powers in media can more easily unilaterally act w/o [much] protest. Also, it wouldn't do for the general American to know about the details of the subversion of Russia: they might start noticing similarities in the US.

I'm calling BS on that one. If she came from a Jewish family, I wager there is little reason to believe that she would have idolized a Christian dissenter. I'm also finding it a stretch that her grandparents were gulag survivors, given the heavily Jewish nature of the Bolshevik regime (particularly the secret police).

It strikes me that this is more likely to be the typical Jewish reflex to make statements about their ancestors being persecuted in order to secure more sympathy and take the moral high ground. (e.g., "how dare you say that, my grandfather survived XXX").

As someone whose family was actually in a concentration camp in WW2 (Japanese), I find that tactic to be rather galling. It's not like I have any particular insight into evil because I lost family members in such a fashion.

Now that Russia has been officially designated as Amalek, and Putin as Haman/ Hitler, in both J-right and J-left narratives, Solzhenitsyn becomes a little... problematic, even without "200 Years Together."
The Ashkenazi have created a new Amalek; here is the old:
The Amalek Within
Our Sages teach that God says to the Jews, “If you do not remember Amalek, you will be sent back to the bondage of Egypt” (Pesikta Rabati 12). This is exhibited frequently on a personal level. The modus operandi that Amalek has always used in attacking the Jews can be described in a word: Devious*. He gets the international community embroiled in some sort of political or military conflict for example, the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait or he gets Jews to engage in some worthy cause “civil rights” all with one goal in mind: The annihilation of the Jews. Amalek has the same numerical value (240) as “safek”, doubt (B’nei Yissaschar, Purim). The Amalek that is omnipresent today are the questions and doubts that we have regarding our faith. This includes the uncertainties, confusion and troubles we face when we lack proper direction and advice. When we strengthen ourselves in true faith in [Lucifer], we overpower the Amalek within.

* And who has proven to be devious time and time again but the Ashkenazi "Jew?" Did not Jesus tell the Pharisees that their "father was the Father of Lies?>

Teachers are really excited to be presenting such emotional, important literature: Elie Weisel, and Anne Frank. They sent an email, which is the only way I knew about it.

Asked older son: he'd been through it, but they weren't sending emails, or I wasn't paying attention (Both possible). Unfortunately, the brainwashing backfired: he went online for further research: and found /pol. He went from indifference to low-key antisemitism, and he's a basically apolitical kid.

@Zaklog: My sincere condolences. We lost two of our six by stillbirth. We remember them always, particularly so my wife, who quietly marks their passing each year on the anniversary of their death. We are comforted in the hope that we will be with them again in paradise.

This could account for why 2 of every 3 ads seem to target 13% of Americans...aka Black people.

Peddling "browns are successful too!" fantasies (and perhaps the myth of "black are the COOLEST!") to guilt-ridden-about-their-own-racist-elitism urban SWPLs. Even ad producers couldn't be stupid enough to believe the miniscule demographic that is middle-class blacks is going to do anything for their advertisers' bottom line.

Buy him the Schaum's Outline on Digital Logic.

Be prepared - if it takes root, he'll be ordering $0.10 digital logic chips by the handful. And probably wanting to learn how to program computers so he can build simple robotic devices for either utilitarian or entertainment value.

The holocaust porn might not be so bad if they put it in context with the rest of history including Carthage up to Mao.

Since you mentioned digital logic and triggered me .... I am a sucker for well written tech books. "The Elements of Computing Systems", by Noam Hissan and Shimon Schocken, might be online for free and is in print. There is interactive SW that takes you from boolean logic to computers in 13 chapters. You build a virtual computer from the bottom up. After each chapter a working model of the previous chapter is provided so errors you make are not cummulative. You start with into to boolean math and build a simple chip using HDL.

There is a two part course on Coursera using the book, Build a Modern Computer from First Principles: Nand to Tetris.

For verbal learners there is a two vol out of print set written in question/answer format "Home Conputers" by Rich Didday. Vol 1 is hardware and I loved it long ago. Vol 2 is SW and is OK. They are dated.

Any questions email me: ecelcticmn (plus) 55112 at gmail.

Cathy Young, like so much of the talentless residue from Reason magazine, must be on the Koch Brothers' payroll, or getting some kind of stipend from them just to continue spewing neocon verbal vomitus. If this woman had to earn her living on merit alone, she'd be doing the digital equivalent of mopping floors at night at Quillette rather than writing for them.

Ekateria and friends have auditioned the starring role in Taylor Swift videos for three thousand years or more. It's always the breakup because poor ME. Gimels from the start.

Never because the Lord:

Gave the patriarchs a land
Preserved them from famine
Saved them from slavery because they were bad guests
Imposed punishments because they continually denied His ways, slaying His prophets and priests, and forgave them
Rejected His Son as Redeemer

It does make one wonder if the title "Chosen People" now has an implicit addendum of "... to portray a Bad Example". Just wondering.

The most important thing to understand about Jews, particularly those residing in America, is that they tend to be extraordinarily hard workers, value education and are more philanthropic than the vast majority of other groups.

And NONE of that is a fair bargain for destroying our country's morals and laws, not by accident, but by a coordinated campaign against American society for the last 100 years or so.

That's not explicitly stated in the Old Testament, but it's pretty clearly implied. God chose Abraham because his descendants would be proud, stiff-necked and unfaithful. God explicitly points out that they are such, repeatedly.

And as for the charitable contributions.... most of those go towards projects which the average U.S. citizen is TOTALLY against ... except for hospitals and schools, which then (AND ONLY THEN) they want credit for, and their name emblazoned on it. But when it comes to contributions to the ACLU and the SPLC, they certainly DON'T want their gentile neighbors knowing exactly who is funding all of that.

I used to find the avoidance of Solzhenitsyn's enlightenment on the Jewish issue by Conservatism Inc. and neocons curious. They do love purging "anti-semites." But I suppose he was more useful as an anti-Stalinist than as a pariah.

Russophobia is working hard. I see them trying to the everyone under the sun to Alexander Dugin, including Jordan Peterson. Based I suppose on the fact that he caught a Russia Bug from Dostoyevsky and Solzhenitsyn.

"If, as claimed by humanism, man were born only to be happy, he would not be born to die. Since his body is doomed to death, his task on earth evidently must be more spiritual: not a total engrossment in everyday life, not the search for the best ways to obtain material goods and then their carefree consumption. It has to be the fulfillment of a permanent, earnest duty so that one's life journey may become above all an experience of moral growth: to leave life a better human being than one started it."

That, Lefties, is how you really speak truth to power.

Solzhenitsyn is generally disliked by the Russians, because he is the one who came up with the '66 million dead by the USSR' schtick. He is the Russian Elie Wiesel, and his '200 Years Together' more or less says that Russia, even before the Revolution, was always governed and controlled by Jews.

Blogger Unknown January 10, 2019 3:53 AM

I've never once considered that. I had family in a concentration camp, on home team side rather than as prisoner though. Unlike todays bereaved victims whose Granps dated someone who knew a prisoner, I've never thought to connect myself to things that happened back then. Always seemed, time-wise, a world away.

Blogger Mark Stoval January 10, 2019 4:22 AM

This is yet more hatred of the Russian people, traditions, and history.

Why? They are the last true homeland of WHITE, CHRISTIAN, Traditional people. Perhaps mankind's last hope unless Europe can find the balls to run off the brown invaders.

The USA? Odds go down every day.

I don't believe that's true.
To the best of my knowledge, under U.S. Copyright law, every new translation of a foreign-language work creates a different copyrighted work, with the copyright going to the translator, not the author.

You still can't publish a translation without having the necessary rights to the original, your copyright is a translation is called a derivative copyright.

Although I have no idea how one could structure the rights to a work to make it impossible to legally publish in English, besides assigning the English rights to someone who's never going to do it, never going to allow it to be done.

Negotiate with whomever got the rights, his estate, or whomever he assigned them to prior to his death.

Blogger Dirk Manly January 10, 2019 1:51 PM

One of these people probably know who controls the estate:

Children
Yermolai Solzhenitsyn (born 1970)
Ignat Solzhenitsyn (born 1972)
Stepan Solzhenitsyn (born 1973)
(all with Natalia Svetlova)

There's a website:
http://www.solzhenitsyn.ru/in_memoriam/

And his son is the conductor of the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, and guest conductor for the Moscow Symphony Orchestra. He lives in New York.
