Shutting off the spigot

The God-Emperor turns off the money:
US President Donald Trump has ordered to cut all aid programs for the so-called Northern Triangle nations over the migrant inflow into the US. Washington is often criticized for worsening the conditions that force people to flee.

“We are carrying out the President’s direction and ending FY [fiscal year] 2017 and FY 2018 foreign assistance programs for the Northern Triangle,” a State Department spokesperson told the media. “We will be engaging Congress as part of this process,” she added.

Earlier, Trump himself told journalists that he “ended payments to Guatemala, to Honduras, and to El Salvador. No money goes there anymore.” He also accused the Central American countries of not doing “a thing for us.” The president also turned to Twitter to lambaste the three nations, along with Mexico, over their failure to stop illegal immigration into the US.
It's a good start, anyhow.

Excellent. It's not like any of the money was actually filtering down to the people that need help.

Also, more importantly, it's not like their poor people are American's responsibility.

Most people were expecting/asking too much from Trump.
He started with 95% of the political media establishment against him, beat them at their rigged game, then took office with bureaucratic resistance armies & state snake network all against him, because he exposes their frauds.
So many supposedly intelligent people going hysterical & denouncing him for not overriding the entire evil empire in the first year.
Trump is a hell of a lot better than Hellary and all other phony candidates.

Presidential powers have been way over-hyped. It amazes me to hear people talk as if Hillary Clinton or our first half-Afroblack pres Barikibu BoBongo were some kind of political masterminds when they are puppets running on scripts. The president appears powerful when he's following his bosses' orders.

Cut off Remittances (not done via wire tranfers from US "know your customer" banks and CUs to non-cartel Mexican banks.

Release those waiting to be deported or asylumed or whatever into Puerto Rico where they speak Spanish, but where they won't do crimes against Americans or take US Jobs but also no cages or separations. Sign an EO ending Anchor Babies from illegals (in PR and not in the 50 staates).

Make E-Verify mandatory to any business that is in any way linked with the US Government (USDA inspections, Universities that get student loans or pell grants, etc., almost all).

Also end cash to Mexico until they send every cavanner back across their southern border.

Greatly increase ICE sweeps and send them to PR within hours of apprehension.

Override DHS/Neilsen for TPS and move them to PR (including Hatians, etc.) until they are deported.

".. accused the Central American countries of 'not doing a thing for us'....."

Where's the lie? Even the left should be able to admit that there's more truth in that "accusation" than there isn't.

Blogger Doug Cranmer March 30, 2019 10:11 PM

Seize all admittances from these countries. It's our money. It stays here.

Ok, I have some awareness of secondary and tertiary consequences that would develop in time.

But the message for now would be something.

Blogger NO GOOGLES March 30, 2019 10:14 PM

Good first step.
Now we need WALL.
We need mandatory E-Verify with HEAVY penalties for being found in violation.
We need deportations.
We need to tax remittances at high levels.

We'll see how much we can get on this list. I'm not one to criticize a fat guy's first trip to the gym, though.

There were several trains full of steel slats traveling through TX a little more than a month ago. The wall is getting built here. Any spottings in Arizona and New Mexico?
How much funding do we have secured so far? 4 of 7 billion? Even if there was 15b it wouldn't be finished by 2024. Trackhoe a trench, crane puts in one slat, pour concrete, reposition, put in another slat and pour again. They're probably framing the concrete too. How far could one crew get in a day, couple hundred yards? Rice, beans, buckets for water and ammo. RIP the U of the SA.

Nathan Hal wrote:How far could one crew get in a day, couple hundred yards?

With a bit of planning and the right equipment, a mile or two a day seems plausible. One crew trenches, another sets pre-fab steel forms for the foundation, another crew pours. Second day, those crews move ahead, while another crew strips yesterday's forms and another crew sets prefab slat sections on the foundation. Five crews following one another, plus logistics.

There doesn't have to be just one gang of five crews, either. 2,000 miles of wall, 2 miles per gang per day, so 100 gangs get it done in 10 days. More likely 10 gangs get it done in a year.

Blogger Raker_T March 31, 2019 1:52 AM

A few thoughts: increased border crossings at this time might be indicative of actual wall construction, in that they know it's their last chance to get to El Norte. Also, If routes are known, then preventing illegals from getting to California, where they will be encouraged to vote, is the most important place to start the wall. Sure, they'll be coming in or trying to, during construction, but make them go where they can do less damage.
OT, but isn't it likely, maybe obvious that the Jesse Smollett thing was someone ponying up bucks for a bribe to create some bad news after good news for the Right? Missouri defying federal gun laws, and the no collusion news were pretty good events for one week.

Blogger Raker_T March 31, 2019 2:34 AM

Another thought: I was just looking at a sidewalk along the riverfront nearby, this recreational area apparently was funded by selling paver bricks with names in them. So, just like the star registry bit, where you pay to get a star named after someone, could mile markers be stamped or affixed to the wall; then you could pay to have a metal slat named after someone, and tell everyone that slat number 1067 on mile 234 is mine? We have July 4th, and Pearl harbor day, will there be a Wall day? At least on the Right. We talk about alternate media, which is good, but what about alternate culture? Memes circulating about this holiday or that. They take down a statue, we have General Lee day. There are sites that will never sell a thing to the left, so why not No Collusion Tuesday, buy now and get a free vial of liberal tears, of it's California long magazine day, buy 1 magazine , the second one is half price. Fun, morale, and sales, what could be better?

Blogger Retrenched March 31, 2019 2:34 AM

Trump must be feeling the heat from his base. He's sounding a lot more hawkish on border security lately. It's been a little while since he's called for massive increases in legal immigration as well.

Now he needs to end catch and release, close the border, and call on Congress to start impeaching federal judges who are facilitating the asylum scam.

Oh, and actually build the damn wall, instead of going around talking like it's almost finished when he hasn't built anything new. He wasn't elected to just cut corporate taxes, free prisoners early and move the embassy after all....

Blogger Jack Ward March 31, 2019 2:55 AM

Want them all to self-deport? End all the freebies handed out by the government. No more benefits off Uncle Sugar's tits for any illegals, their supposed 'anchor' babies, EO ending anchor baby policies, all states, strict background checks, death penalties, by tribunal, for any illegals that do violent crime, trials and executions to happen within one week. Lets try that on for size. That would be a start.

what i'm about to say is not defeatism by any stretch, although it will immediately be called that by numerous commenters. you can not solve a problem if you do not know the true cause, and 99.999999% of trump supporters do not. and if i'm wrong about this prediction, vox, please, perma-ban me right now; we don't have to wait for the outcome of the wall wager. for those of you who haven't figured out the story line yet, here is what's going to happen.

congressmen on both sides will yelp about how terrible it is to cut off money to these poor people who just want a better life. an illegal lawsuit will be filed in the 9th circuit or an equally liberal jurisdiction by plaintiff/s who have no standing whatsoever in a u.s. court of law. nonetheless, a corrupt judge will issue a stay and the money will continue to flow south of the border. trump will observe the stay even though it is illegal and unconstitutional, and appeal. then the subject will drop and not be heard from again.

today trump issued his 263rd threat about closing the southern border, and the result will be the same as the other 262; nothing. the border will remain open to all comers. as i've said many times in these comments, this farce is not a failing on trump's part; he's in an impossible situation. he needs our help and you're not helping him by continuing to go along with the farce. i have complete faith and trust in your judgement and fairness, vox. i'm only trying to find the truth, i'm only trying to explain things that otherwise don't make sense. you can wait to see if my current prediction is correct if you want, or ban me today. your blog, your call. i would only ask that you realize that i am on trump's side, have been since day one, i am not the opposition. but we can't win this by making the same mistake over and over.

trump has the constitutional and statutory authority to close the southern border any effing day of the week. he doesn't need approval from congress, he doesn't need approval from any federal court that doesn't have any authority regarding national security, border security or any other issue that has to do with the sovereignty of the u.s. The left can take comfort in the fact that damn near 100% of the electorate has no idea of how this country works or what the constitution says or does not say.

Blogger Franz Lyonheart March 31, 2019 5:06 AM

Excellent. It's not like any of the money was actually filtering down to the people that need help.

Neither is actual development desired. In a well-governed country, your government purchases influence over those foreign governments. They call it raison d'état. But since the CIA and other three letter agencies of the Deep State turned treasonous against the POTUS and The People, this money is no longer needed, nor indeed profitably invested. Trump was right to turn it off.

In my close family I have had army intelligence, high ranking officers, copter pilots, and navy personal. I believe we need to defend ourselves.

However, I have not seen the USA military actually defend our land. Defend the homeland.

Before I go off this mortal stage, I would like to see our fighting men defend our land and not be destroying people in far away places that have never done us any harm. Of course, that would mean we need to end the Empire. (before it ends us)

We need to put men on the southern border and fight WW1 trench warfare. Shoot anything that moves. Close the border.

Blogger IAN March 31, 2019 6:13 AM

An idea I've seen floated by VDare is to stop issuing any Visas to these countries until their governments cooperate - that will hit the elites where it hurts. I doubt they care that much about poverty programs except as opportunities for their corruption.

Blogger pdwalker March 31, 2019 6:32 AM

Blogger peter blandings March 31, 2019 9:21 AM

one more thing. or two. aid to these countries is instantly stolen by the spaniards who have run them for centuries. it is immediately transferred into offshore accounts and never sees the peasants for whom it was intended. therefore cutting such aid has nothing whatsoever to do with illegal immigration into the u.s. It would be very difficult to convince me that trump
is too stupid to know this. therefore, i have to ask, what exactly is the point?

thing 2; there is no possible way that these central american pygmies could traverse the hostile territory of the entire nation of mexico from south to north without not only the express permission of the mexican government, but also it's aid and facilitation. it would seem to me that this constitutes a casus beli that would more than justify a declaration of war against mexico. take it over and take their oil. before they complete their takeover of us.

Any so-called refugee loses their status as a refugee upon entering the first safe country....which in this case would be Mexico. Once in Mexico, the Central Americans cease to be refugees.

I've thought that, too. And a declaration of war against Mexico would make the removal of enemy aliens pathetically easy. Especially as any who stay can be considered saboteurs and shot out of hand. Doubly so since any judge who decided to interfere would face real, live, honest-to-the-hangman Treason charges.

Invasion is war, and they're invading the U.S. already.

Taking territory, especially territory directly adjacent to your own country, is not automatically "imperialism". Russia does it, China does it, Israel does it... and very often for the same reason, they want a buffer against constant invasions and low-level warfare.

Because of the actions of neocons/neolibs over the past several decades, a lot of us have been conditioned to automatically connect war with suzerainty - trying to rule over other people, turn them into puppet states and impose our idiotic ideas of liberal democracy on them. That's not necessarily what all military action is for. Sometimes the goal is simply to drive would-be invaders farther back into their own territory, and either claim the disputed territory for yourself or just salt the earth and turn it into moats and minefields.

I understand that the MX govt gets financial and political benefit from allowing MX citizens to cross into the US. I do not undestand the benefit to them for non MX people traversing all of MX to cross into the US. Maybe it is illegal kickbacks from human smugglers or Soros.

Trump should increase tariffs on MX goods coming into the US until MX screams uncle. MX citizens should ask why they have to suffer so that non MX citizens can cross MX.

I would like to see a price put on all illegal borders crossers, say $10K for MX and $20K for each non MX. Fix the tariffs for the next week to cover the previous week's total. Unopredictable sure. Not as drastic as shutting border totally.

I am not sure what the Central America countries can do to keep people from leaving. MX can do plenty over thousands of miles to keep them from passing through.

Lots of US mfgs depend on parts from MX. Count on seeing MSM videos of US plant workers unemployed due to mean Trump.

Blogger eclecticme March 31, 2019 6:42 PM

Another season of seeing rotund 5 foot 200 pound brown women (future US dialysis patients) with infants said to be walking 10, then 20, then 40 miles per day. In flip flops no less! Better time than Roman Legions or the US Marines!

IMO Trump has his hands tied legally in many aspects. He cannot return non MX border crossers to MX. He cannot hold 'families' very long, especially if claiming asylum, due to the law. He could hold single adults whether or not claiming asylum but has to let them go for lack of holding space.

I believe that closing the border would only reduce legal crossings. Illegals are bused to remote areas and run across the borner, claiming asylum. US manufacutuers, making the rope to hang us with, will cry bloddy murder in the MSM.

Razor wire and mine fields are OK with me. I do not like US covert action abroad but 50 cal slugs in bus engine blocks or the equivalent would be fine with me. Kinder and cheaper than dorning wedding parties in other countries.

I want MX to feel extreme pain for allowing the border crossers, especially non MXs.

Trivia: 40 US states pay for dialysis once per week for illegals. 10 states pay for 3 times per week. VDH said that 2 new dialysis centers opened in Fresno CA, near him.
