AH:Q #1 now available

Arkhaven Comics is very pleased to announce that the digital edition of Alt★Hero:Q issue #1 Where We Go One is now available in CBZ and Kindle formats.

AH:Q backers should check your email, as we have sent out emails with download links to both formats to all the backers. Please note that these were only sent out to AH:Q backers, not backers of the original ALT-HERO campaign.

If you are an AH:Q backer who did not receive an email, please check your spam trap and your social media trap on Gmail before contacting us. If you still cannot find it, then please email us at books -at- castaliahouse -dot- com and we will add your email to the mailing list. Please note, however, that if we add your email to the list and discover that it is already there, then the problem is on your end which means there is nothing we can do about it. We would also suggest whitelisting the @castaliahouse.com address to increase the likelihood that you will receive the emails properly.

If you are not a backer, then you can purchase Alt★Hero:Q issue #1 Where We Go One for $2.99 at Arkhaven Comics, which includes both formats. The Kindle version should also be available on Amazon later today. Backers should note that we will not be sending out the individual print editions until all six issues are available in print and can be sent together.

UPDATE: You can now buy and review AH:Q #1 on Amazon.

Wow, just wow! Make a movie, NOW!

Blogger #7139 April 10, 2019 8:50 AM

Downloaded and have already read it. It is off to a great start.

Well, just read AH:Q #1 and am very happy I backed this campaign. Oh yeah, eff you, IGG. For those that are not backers, what are you waiting for? Get yourself over to arkhavencomics.com now and pick it up for the low, low price of $2.99 (it really deserves a prominent spot on the main page too)

This story is right in The Legend Chuck Dixon's wheelhouse and it's going to be fantastic to see the twists and turns he comes up with through 6 issues.

Congrats to the Chuck and Arkhaven team on another first class product.

Btw the cover to Swan Knight Saga #1 looks amazing.

Blogger James Dixon April 10, 2019 10:03 AM

Woot. I'll be reading it when I get home tonight.

Blogger LastRedoubt April 10, 2019 10:05 AM

Excellent start. Action, mystery, and mayhem. Good pacing, and you get to see how our agent gets put on the trail.

Blogger InformationMerchant April 10, 2019 11:10 AM

It's so good. Hopefully we can get some novels to replace Tom Clancy. I can see why this excites the movie people.

Blogger Zach April 10, 2019 11:12 AM

Great start. "Roland Dane" is a fantastic character name.

Blogger Lauri Stark April 10, 2019 11:16 AM

Great! Few pages in and I really like the style.

Blogger Captain Barnacles April 10, 2019 11:23 AM

I have a fantasy that Arkhaven will make a fighting gave eventually.
The SJWs covering up the female characters in Kuckold Kombat 11, and the ensuing retards defending that sorry opinion, are leaving the market wide open for a solid Western fighting game that isnt cucked.

Blogger pdwalker April 10, 2019 11:30 AM

Excellent! Just finished it. Excellent. Artwork, action, storytelling. Excellent!

Blogger Adlow April 10, 2019 11:38 AM

Congratulations, that was very well done. It's the first comic I have ever really enjoyed, and it's a sign of good art that it can appeal to people who don't ordinarily like the genre.

Blogger Ron April 10, 2019 11:49 AM

Vox, you knocked it out of the park with this one. A perfect ending to edition 1

Blogger VD April 10, 2019 11:56 AM

All the credit goes to Chuck and Helix. I just selected the right creative talent.

Blogger Silent Draco April 10, 2019 11:58 AM

Just finished. The story is amazing, and the drawing and characters are awesome. Almost non-stop action with a couple strategic pauses to reset the scene. InforationMerchant is on the trail, all right; this would also make an excellent series of techno-thriller novels, to expand the world more.

Blogger Illuminatus April 10, 2019 12:15 PM

Damn, that was good! Where's #2?

Blogger tuberman April 10, 2019 12:28 PM

Yep, great start, but I'm a huge Dixon fan.

Selecting the right creative talent isn't a simple or easy thing. Most of us here understand the importance of your role.

I guess when the obvious ones show up and volunteer it does make it a bit easier though.

Blogger Ilk in Training April 10, 2019 12:34 PM

I've been more eager for this release than AH! Huzzah!

Blogger Ahărôwn April 10, 2019 1:04 PM

An excellent comic - fast paced and exciting. I'm looking forward to the rest!

Blogger The Deuce April 10, 2019 1:20 PM

Just read it. Definitely got that Chuck Dixon magic!

Blogger Jon D. April 10, 2019 1:38 PM

One of the best comics I've read in years. Great work.

Blogger michimartini April 10, 2019 2:07 PM

Perfect execution, good story, and the last page moved me to tears.

Blogger MendoScot April 10, 2019 2:31 PM

Yee ha!

Roland was a warrior
From the land of the midnight sun...

No tommy guns, tho'.

Blogger Tars Tarkas April 10, 2019 2:33 PM

Why would anyone want to read this right-wing trash when they could read all about Bolemic Wonder Woman and skinny-fat Iron Man?

Come on man, it's 2019 already!

Blogger SirHamster April 10, 2019 2:59 PM

So good!

Blogger Dave April 10, 2019 4:00 PM

Please tell us future issues will be forthcoming in rapid succession. The timing couldn't be better to start building some momentum for AH:Q

We've just in the last 24 hours witnessed the US Attorney General confirm in a public hearing before Congress multiple intelligence agencies spied on a presidential campaign and POTUS openly stated things like this on national TV: Pres. Trump blasts James Comey and Andrew McCabe as "dirty cops," says of the FBI's Russia probe: "This was an attempted coup. This was an attempted takedown of a president. And we beat them." "What [they] did was [TREASON]"

So they'll be using the Blob as their Marvel character of choice?

Blogger Avalanche April 10, 2019 4:58 PM

Oh man! Hit the last frame and burst out laughing with absolute triumph! How fast can you and The Legend get out AH:Q2?!?! Please HURRY!

Blogger Avalanche April 10, 2019 5:09 PM

Oh cool! Neon Revolt has a Gab.com entry announcing Alt Hero: Q!

It starts:

Wooooooow. This is actually really good!

Blogger weka April 10, 2019 5:23 PM

Wow. Read this morning. So good. Great plot, great cliffhanger, more please.

And folks, dont use indiegogo for aything

Blogger doctrev April 10, 2019 5:25 PM

It's rare that you see the very first issue of a series start at full throttle, and never let up. If people like Roland Dane and Q didn't exist, they would have to be invented.

Well worth the crowdfund. The Legend Strikes Again.

Blogger Unknown April 10, 2019 5:52 PM

Great read, very much worth the wait.

Blogger 2Bfree April 10, 2019 5:57 PM

So Glad I upped my support for Alt*Hero: Q, by far best new origin/start of a new comic I've read in decades.

Blogger KPP April 10, 2019 6:00 PM

I haven't been a comics guy since I was a kid, though I've picked up a graphic novel here and there.

I was a backer of the Kickstarter on principle, and really only gave a token amount. I wasn't expecting to get digital editions or anything, just trying to do my part to fight back.

But, man. I keep getting free comics with really engaging stories and I'm happy to see each new issue arrive. This Q premiere issue knocks it out of the park and now I'm feeling guilty because I gave so little at the start and have received so much in return.

It's too late to give more to the crowdfunding, but I hereby pledge to buy the omnibus editions as they arrive. These stories are worth keeping and buying the omnibus editions is a way I can support the cause.

Give away copies to young men in your family and friends circle.

I see it in my email, and I look forward to reading it this weekend. You all have done a great job on these comics projects. I thank you for continuing to produce these high quality stories.

Blogger DJ | AMDG April 10, 2019 10:01 PM

This is a fantastic first issue. The art is superior to anything else I think you guys have done to date. The scene transitions work flawlessly. The dialog and narration are spot on. The coloring is modern and the lines are strong. The writing and plot are engaging and the action is superb.

I’m loving on the John Wick book right now (which comes out too infrequently) as well as Kirkman’s Die Die Die. Q blows both of those books away.

10/10

Blogger James Dixon April 10, 2019 10:20 PM

Yes, it's as good as advertised. Awesome first issue.

Well darn, something must have went wrong when I tried contributing to the second campaign. I never got a confirmation and I don't see anything in any of my mail folders. I'll just have to get from Castalia.

Did anyone else run into this with the other funding site?

Blogger James Parliament April 11, 2019 5:14 PM

That was fun, thank you for the brief escape!

Concur on all points. The first AH issues were good but AH:Q is outstanding. I'm very happy to have backed it.
