Conservatives conserve nothing

The Brexit Party is crushing both the Tories and Labour in the European Election polls:
The Brexit Party has surged into the lead in the race for the European Elections after a top pollster predicted Nigel Farage's new party could win its first election. A second YouGov survey on the state of the party's ahead of EU Parliament elections shows the Brexit Party rising dramatically from 15 per cent to 27 per cent.

Most of the gain comes at the expense of Ukip - which when led by Mr Farage won the 2014 contest - which plunged from 14 per cent to 7 per cent.

Labour falls to second place on 22 per cent, down two, and the Tories are now third on 15 per cent.

The sensational new result comes after YouGov Political Research Manager Chris Curtis said it was 'entirely plausible' Mr Farage could upset conventional wisdom about new parties to top the poll.

Mr Curtis said a combination of a weak Tory party and Mr Farage's direct attack on Ukip's drift toward the hard right would all help the Brexit Party.

Adding to the trouble for Theresa May's party are fears of a 'donor strike' amid fury at the Prime Minister's handling of Brexit.
It would be more than ironic, it would be revolutionary if Theresa May manages to completely destroy the Conservative Party over her treasonous refusal to keep her word and accept that No Deal was better than a bad deal.

A single early poll concerning European elections that should never have taken place is a long, long way from winning in an actual UK Parliamentary election, but it is one hell of a start.

I'd really love to see the EU parlament flooded with Brexiteers. Wouldn't that be a fitting outcome of the shameful haggling over the past months? Almost (though not quite) worth the delay.

It's probably a pipe dream, but what a result it would be if, between the EU election and the next UK parliamentary election, voters ended up with a choice among Labour, UKIP, and Farage's Brexit party.

I'm sure the media and even Labour will fight hard to keep this from happening, but if Tories find themselves in fourth place, so that they are forced to choose between Labour or a Farage-UKIP alliance, the party will be shattered, perhaps beyond recovery. A lot depends on the fallout from Brexit in the wake of these elections, but Tories would be forced to take a clear side. Hopefully, they choose Labour rather than infecting the right with more of their nonsense.

Farage's appeal is limited as the press have firmly cemented him as a racist leading a racist party to a part of the electorate. For him to break into mainstream acceptance would be a major undertaking. He's started off well, but reporters will be crawling over his new party's candidates, looking for anything they can use to frame it as UKIP 2.0

@3 Trump, Salvini, Orban....

Your defeatism and bowing to the press is no way to wage this war

I was reading the other day about how in the 17th century the Tories were seeking to conserve the power of the monarchy and stop the moves of the Whigs, who were pushing for a limited monarchy. The Tories failed to conserve that monarchical power. It's really a long line of losses for the conservatives.

I think it's worth noting what Farage has done with the Brexit party. We talk often of not punching right, and not being afraid of being called a racist. But the problem with UKIP is that it was being brigaded by wignats. They want nothing but to destroy and shit upon anything productive. They are dysfunctional people, and Farage did a good job by breaking away from that.

This poll is weird though. There isn't one, single vote in the EU elections, but votes in different areas across the country for different MEPs. I'm curious how representative this polling data is.

@5 No the High Tories aren't Conservatives. The Cavaliers fought a civil war, lost to the Parliamentarians, fled to Ireland and Scotland to continue the fight, Cromwell then went into Scotland and Ireland to destroy Cavalier/Tory resistance, then he died and the Church of England, Aristocracy and Monarchy were restored in 1660. The High Tories aren't Conservatives, they actually restored the institutions of the nation, they actually fought a war against the enablers of evil and didn't give up after the king was murdered. High Tories are more like the Confederate states, the Rhodesians or the Ulster Loyalists, it is about defying the state and remaining loyal to the nation. Conservatives are statists, High Tories are nationalists.

We see the rise of nationalism not just in politics but we also see it in art. Particularly in music now we are seeing nationalist bands pop up writing overtly nationalist and traditionalist songs. The Hu for example is the Mongolian metal band that is deadly addictive. Seriously. YouTube Wolf Totem at your peril. There is already a 10hour compilation of the song so you can just leave it on all day long. That exists because the song is like crack. Rammstein has long been known for nationalistic music... and I would argue Baby Metal is nationalistic as well.

You can't win by playing nothing but defense. Much of the problem stems from the fact that "conservatives" usually define themselves by what they stand against...instead of what they stand FOR.

It's hard to believe that there is anyone in Britainstan that can withstand the Voodoo language of isms, ists and phobias much less populate UKIP, but I will accept the posters at their word.

Which reminds me of Sakers' interview of Collapsatarian Dimitry Orlov and Orlov's description of the Ukrainian Nazis and I think I see a pattern, controllable Ultra Nats.

@1- A more fitting outcome would be to have them overrun with pirates or postapocalyptic biker gangs.

Blogger tublecane April 18, 2019 9:06 AM

@5- We had our own Tories here. They were expropriated, killed, cowed, or driven to Canada.

Benedict Arnold would be the most famous, though of course he started out on the other side.

It was obvious to me many years ago that Europe would be the rock that smashed the Tory party.

Also, all the long established parties are artefacts of the industrial age, but we now live in different times.

High Tories are more like the Confederate states
Apt description considering a lot of those Cavaliers wound up living in the South.

Thanks for the recommendation. I've been meaning to supplement my Sabaton playlist. Listening to The Last Stand as I write.

Ain't that what they said about the original brexit vote? You underestimate them

I completely lost all respect for Farage in the last couple of years. Endless virtue signalling and bitching about people being too far right, lying about Tommy Robinson and basically being a shill.

Then there's the fact that after over 2 decades of campaigning for leave, when he finally won, he ran away. I think they never thought they could actually win and then when it happened, jumped ship out of complete cowardice. Now that the establishment is safely stabbing the voters in the back, they are willing to play the role of the opposition again. Traitors! The whole lot of them are traitors!

Blogger linesy April 18, 2019 10:24 AM

On Brexit Farage is great, understands the rules has a clear plan. But on every other important issue he is straight wet tory. In normal times past that might not have been an issue. However, he is terrified of third rail issues. This why I prefer UKIP over his party. For good or ill Tommy Robinson has been attached to UKIP that doesn't bother me but although popular with the working class (who often don't vote) he is a major issue with normies. Strategically I will have to vote Farage, but it will depend what I have for choices. You will find the local elections are more of a measure. I predict a blood bath for the Tories, shame as they are generally better councillors. But they have to be punished hard so Treason May goes and we can get a proper leader in.

Semi-Related. Norman Podhoretz has converted to .....

Paleo Conservativism!

I take this as a sign we are winning. Give Boot, Rubin, Kristol, and Chickenshit 6 months to "reconsider"

It's "Paleo-neoconservatism". He's sensed which way the wind is blowing and is trying to shift with it but he can only go so far.

@Tublecane

I heard from a millennial newly minted Professor friend in India trained in their foreign affairs that Conservatives/Tories are a satellite of British interests operating in colonies as entrenched opposition to nationalism. I could go more into that with some naval battles in India but I it's not a topic I know enough about to speak confidently. While his worldview and training informs this evaluation I can't help but see it as exactly fitting England and its colonies past and present.

Heritage America did really well to expunge this stay back force.

In Canada the Tories are not nationalistic at all whether at the federal or provincial level. One just won the equivalent of Govenor here. He's pro immigration and pro gay-straught alliance in primary school.

Blogger Toris April 18, 2019 11:39 AM

Theresa made things very clear to even the most stubborn by donning that 'World Peace Tartan'.

Our International-Peace-Builders have fought against much of what Brexiters stand for for centuries.

Blogger Martin Marprelate April 18, 2019 12:14 PM

Kelley? Yeah he is cucked. He went around getting the new bloods to vote conservative during the Harper years. Didn’t work long term though. Oh Canada, my home and dying land.

Blogger dumnonia-watchman April 18, 2019 4:20 PM

The Brexit Party, like Trump, is controlled opposition.
A Roth operation.

Ron Paul never made the news, neither does the true alt-right parties in the UK (instead they are proscribed as 'terrorist & extremist'.

As always, politics is theatre, all available options on the ballot card are puppets.

Blogger InformationMerchant April 18, 2019 7:12 PM

Disagree with 6. This is like the Finland post from a few days ago.

Farage messed up over the Tommy Robinson court case. Then he messed up about Tommy Robinson being allowed to talk to UKIP. Then he ran away from UKIP and joined a cuck party created by a woman that he then forced to resign for Islamophobia. This was after he attacked UKIP for Islamophobia, he joined a party created by someone that did worse than the thing he literally accused UKIP of doing.

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2019/mar/20/leader-of-pro-brexit-party-catherine-blaiklock-resigns-over-anti-islam-messages

He then abstained on the Article 13 vote a couple of weeks ago, the entirety of UKIP voted against it. He has continued to virtue signal and act as if he's going to be accepted as less than Literally Hitler.

Unlike the situation in Finland, he's going to benefit massively from cucking because the super cuck party betrayed everyone, so no one will vote for them in European elections with the exception of some remain voters. Not even all remain voters, polls suggest the Conservatives are going to lose half of their MEP votes.

All the Conservatives can jump ship to the Brexit party safely, some have. The UK equivalent of a JRM superpac has switched to Brexit Party and so has JRM's sister. Incidentally, JRM declared today that "Anti-Islamic comments have no place in society." He is probably the best his party has, his personal beliefs are so good that he will never want to be PM because he knows his party is too cucked, yet this is the level of screwed the UK is.

Don't get me wrong, it's hilarious that May has destroyed her party despite being made PM with a majority and an unpopular leader of the opposition. She then called a snap election that she failed to win despite having the vast majority of UKIP Brexit votes given to her. She then managed to alienate everyone that voted Leave and almost everyone that voted Remain.

I don't think the Conservative party can win an election outright again. UKIP isn't even a great party, but I respect them not cucking. The Brexit party is the cuck party that will throw everyone under the bus to avoid being called mean names.

UKIP has PJW, Count Dankula, Sargon of Akaad. I'm not even convinced the average of those three comes out on the right. The media heads are still exploding. The British National Party policies of an identitarian party with tariffs would've been a wignat magnet if it was still going.

@18 They have to be punished after that. May already said she's leaving before the next GE (her concession to win no confidence vote). You can't give them a free ride, their party must be destroyed. Your position is effectively that nothing they do have consequences because May will resign and all blame goes with her.
