Bought. Glad to support a right thinking fellow gardener and DtG knows his stuff.

I really like this series of books. Something about how they're written makes it easy for me to think I could pull it off. Gardening stuff from the era since the Boomers wrote books/websites assume that you have too much other stuff and sounds like clones of each other while David the Good feels like a continuation of the really old manuals which kept things simple.

There will come a day when people will wish they had read this book.

Amazon wasn't able to redirect the link to the national amazon.co.uk site. First time this happened, perhaps because the book is so brand new. I needed a quick search to find the direct link for Amazon UK. Preordered.

Congrats, already a category best seller. (without the benefit of CH's new release email list even)

PS. Really looking forward to reading it. Between David the Good, and Owen, I'm motivated to restart a bit of gardening myself again. I'm reminded of growing stuff myself as a little boy. Actually a large apple tree grew out of the seeds of an apple I had eaten as a perhaps 5 or 7 year old. I grew it in a pot, and later my mother had it transferred into our garden right in front of our living room window. She felled it a couple years back. But it lived over 40m years and it bore good fruit - tasty apples.

Sounds like a great book.
Any chance that David the Good's murder mystery will make it to audio?

I am rapidly coming to believe that food production sovereignty will be the biggest issue of the late 21st century.

The only people who are going to be eating anything decent will be the rich and the people who actually produce it.

Everyone else will be eating textured nutritional yeast products

All the trends are heading that way.

Jack Broccoli is coming to audio as soon as I get a few hundred other things done. Definitely on my list, just hard to get it to the top.

First book I've ordered from you guys. Exactly what I've been looking for.

Blogger Nate May 11, 2019 7:43 PM

imagine if I had told you way back when you started CH... that one of your absolute top selling authors... was gonna be a dork that writes about gardening...

Look forward to the hardcover/paperback. I love my kindle, but when I'm in the back or in the garden (or even in the kitchen) I want a print edition, especially if it has illustrations.

I'm waiting for "David the Good - The Musical"

Blogger LP916 May 11, 2019 9:42 PM

David is so cool he can take a place like AZ, design a plan and in weeks, from sand/dryness, its a lush place of creation and growth.

Gifting plants that you take to grow and personalize the container makes for wonderful home made gifts. I grew a few pepper plants as a gift.

Nurseries are possible its a full time job, a labor of love and lots of learning.

@13 good news indeed. Keep up the good work.

Ok, Nate has finally lost it, is how most would have felt. But, yeah, it DOES seem weird.

Blogger Unknown May 12, 2019 10:18 AM

I picked up David's other two books and I'll probably be getting this one too! It covers a topic that I am particularly interested in. Thanks.

Got the Kindle version. Will get the dead tree version.
