The PLA quakes

Forget women in combat, now the Marine Corps is embracing full-scale Diversity:
A Marine captain who was dropped from the F/A-18 Hornet fighter jet training pipeline in 2016 has been granted rare permission from the head of Marine Corps aviation to try again, following a report that revealed instructors and staff had acted unprofessionally and made racial jabs in a private chat group.

The pilot will report for training at Marine Fighter Attack Training Squadron (VMFAT) 101 in Miramar, California, next month, said Capt. Christopher Harrison, a Marine Corps spokesman. Military.com has previously spoken with the pilot under condition of anonymity for fear of professional retribution; the publication will continue to honor that agreement....

"That dude was so bad. I can't even comprehend how someone does not have the most basic level of self-awareness and realize he's going to kill himself or someone else," an instructor wrote of the Marine in the chat.

During training, the Marine had been responsible for one significant mishap, when he misunderstood an instructor's order and ended up blowing the canopy off his F/A-18. For that, he said, he was pilloried in his unit, and the embarrassing incident was commemorated on class T-shirts with the slogan, "Once you pop, the fun don't stop."
This should end well. And it should totally convince everyone that Diversity Marine pilots are just as elite as Marines who have to actually avoid crashing their planes.

I regret that I have but one face to palm for my Corps...

I had a friend that washed out of the Air Force fighter pilot school on the last day for an "unsafe maneuver" while flying formation. Basically lost sight of the other jet and got too close. They are not forgiving in those schools so if you screw up you're out in a hurry. But like women, people of color can get a pass by crying racism just like women cry sexism. Seem to remember a Navy woman F-14 pilot that managed to kill herself after getting just such a pass. Hopefully when this guy messes up he won't take anyone else with him.

I watched a documentary on naval air and on it a Marine trainee on his first pass on a carrier landing forgot to deploy the tailhook, he still passed his course.

When we actually have to face a peer combat opponent, guys like this will be responsible for air support for our Special Operations forces? We are gonna lose so many guys from friendly fire... is that the point? Is this all a lure to fool the Chinese into moving too early?

So if the elites know as Vox said in his last stream that China is the rising power. They can't move on to that new host as China won't let them in, they crippled their current host so much that it looks like some form of civil war is likely as more people learn how corrupted and broken the system actually is.
Why are they still destroying the army when they presumably will need that to help themselves out in a civil war? Just seems like they are burning every bridge and giving themselves no where to go. That can't be right they have lots of smart folks working for them.

Segregated units is the only answer, I suppose.

My hope was this flyboy revved engines before his Final Exams and a voice on the radio said, "Okay, you're good to go. Green light, negro!" and it distracted him long enough to earn a failing grade. Which would at least be entertaining.

But no, it's just general microaggression stuff. It's like an Edwardian drama in these people's heads. Everyone wordlessly thinking about eachother, seeking to reinforce class division, observing every tiny detail of decorum.

Or

Go diverse, the shit gets worse.

This is so symptomatic of how fucked up the West has become. Imagine how the competent marines must feel, carrying a political hire who may just fuck up and get them killed!

Sickening.

There are ways to deal with people like this. If he makes it through the 2nd time around (which I doubt), he'll get to his 1st operational unit, and basically be patronized with flight hours, get mediocre FitReps, fail to promote to Major, and get unceremoniously booted from the Corps due to ascension attrition.

If, that is, he doesn't screw up bad enough that he is unceremoniously grounded to serve out the rest of his hitch standing SDO while awaiting administrative separation. Yes, this can happen to pilots in operational commands. Navy pilots who make X number of bad carrier landings in a row, serious flight mishaps, stuff like that.

I've had to deal with bitches like that before. You patronize the hell out of them by giving them some important sounding job they can't screw up, and otherwise route around them.

Uh...... The controls that eject a canopy are very distinct and you have to be an absolute retard to accidentally pull that handle or even if you think you are being told to when a situation calls for it, you should know better.
Canopy ejection can happen apart from seat ejection. That is, if you eject the seat the canopy comes off first but the canopy has its own handle to pop that alone for egress after a crash landing.

BTW we already lost the next war.

Blogger Warunicorn July 11, 2019 7:54 PM

F/A18 Super Hornet is an awesome bird. Blue Angels were flying them in KC last week flying around downtown prepping for a show. Women in the office were going all worried, and I was like "hot damn, listen to the power in that thing."

It's a crying shame to put a mediocre pilot in such a high performance jet.

They switched from legacy models (A or C type) relatively recently. The Blues tend to fly some of the oldest model airframes in their fleet. For example, they were flying A model Hornets into the 2010s, if memory serves. E/F models are easy to tell apart from legacy models, they have squared off intakes, and operational jets have three pylons per wing, because the wing is over a foot longer on each side.
The E/F models have more unburned fuel in their idle engine exhaust, too. Makes your eyes water on the flight deck.

There's been a morale and leadership problem in the Corps for a while, and this probably has something to do with it.

Not for lack of trying, her RIO had to take the Martin Baker ride. Those seats are not zero-zero, and the sequence is back seat front seat; when her seat launched it was pointed sideways into the water, and into the water she went.

F-14s had two seats, and pilots did not take them up solo.

Said army wasn't ever going to help (((them))) in a civil war, which is why they had no issue tossing said army at anyone (((they))) didn't like.

Worse case scenario for (((them))) was supposed to be that the expendables are expended and lack any capacity to retaliate against (((them))). Supposed to be.

I see Hanoi John McCain was mentioned a couple times already but don't forget his early record. His problems at the Naval Academy, his problems first at flight school and then fighter training. It took two Admirals to twist enough arms to get him to that carrier.
