A necessary prop

The Narrators would have preferred to keep the facts of the alleged Parkland shooter's behavior under wraps, considering the obvious questions it raises concerning his inexplicable presence at the school.
If something frustrated Cruz, he would curse and threaten anyone nearby. He would hide behind corners and doors, jump out and scream at people, and then cackle at their fear. Sometimes, for no apparent reason, he would burst into maniacal laughter.

Another student, Sarah, recalled a time when he threw his chair across a classroom. Later, she saw him sitting outside the classroom with his desk tied down.

Cruz’s torture and killing of animals became a source of pride for him as he interacted with other students. One student, Devin, recalled that, although he tried to avoid Cruz, Cruz would approach him almost every day and ask, “Would you like to see videos of me skinning animals?” Devin always declined, but Cruz kept asking.

Cruz’s records suggest that his reign of terror at Westglades Middle School began halfway through his seventh-grade year, in February of 2013. For the next calendar year, Cruz was suspended every other day. Why did the school allow him to remain enrolled despite his daily, deranged behavior for a full year? Not by negligence, but by policy....

Sept. 11: After discussing and lecturing about the Civil War in America Nick became fixated on the death and the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. He asked inappropriate questions and was making shooting actions with his pencil. Some questions he asked were “What did it sound like when Lincoln was shot? Did it go pop pop or pop pop pop really fast? Was there blood everywhere? After the war what did they do with all the bodies? Did people eat them?”

Sept. 16: When we began to read the Odyssey Nick paid partial attention (in-and-out) until we came up to the gruesome scene when the giant eats Odysseus’ crew members, only then Nick was interested in the lesson and got my 100% attention.

Sept. 27: Another student also informed me (once Nick was escorted out of class) that Nick asks him all of the time “How am I still at this school?”
But the reason Cruz was permitted - nay, required - to continue attending public school despite his mental illness and his complete unsuitability for it is because, regardless of how deep down the rabbit hole one wishes to go, his presence there was necessary for the unfolding of the Narrative.

You have to really not care about your kids to let them attend public school. Parking them in front a Sesame Street marathon for 12 hours of every working day would be better for their mental health and for your community.

I trained to be a teacher and got my teaching certificate, but stories like this and the attitude of the administrators persuaded me to find other work. They don't make it clear, but if you listen closely in your interviews, you will realize that classroom discipline is your responsibility, not theirs. I've heard college admins feel the same. It's all about the "butts in seats" and the federal money.

Home schooling in groups / community schooling is the solution. It's about far more than academics. It's about building healthy community and society. It's about building for OUR future. Too bad only a small % of conservatives will do it. Money has nothing to do with it, that's just an excuse. I've seen dirt poor families homeschool successfully. I once thought that state-run schools would self-immolate simply by becoming typical black-hole monopolies, where resources pour in and nothing of value emerges. Eventually I figured people would be forced to find alternatives.

I expected smart people would shoulder the burden of paying twice, once for the useless public system via taxes and a second time, to actually educate their kids (either by paying the tuition or dropping a parent's income so they could home/co-op school.) I thought there'd be "early adopters" prior to an eventual revolution that gutted public schooling and the tax system on which it feeds.

It's increasingly obvious that "simply" rendering the "product" valueless wasn't enough. Of course, it doesn't require a mass shooting; a cousin of mine attended a desegregated high school 40 years ago and had some black kid rip off a part of his scalp once in an attack. Student safety has been off the priority list since Brown v Board of Ed.

It's a trend. Like most, it rises far beyond what I thought possible. I wonder when the trend will change. The lies of the Main Narrative continue to pile higher, but the truth is not hard to find.

Blogger Unknownsailor September 10, 2019 11:37 AM

Broward county school district was one of the districts the Obama DoJ went after because minority students were "disproportionately" disciplined. The rules in place now are as a direct result of the heavy hand of radical race theory "disparate impact" being applied to school discipline.

As I'm sure Vox is aware, Minneapolis school district is another place where this happened, and as a result, the schools have descended into chaos, as black students know they can get away with anything they want.

Trevon Martin was an early beneficiary of the "alternative" school discipline programs put in place after the Obama DoJ came after his school district.

Layer all this "disparate impact" theory on top of the already crazy policy of mainstreaming developmentally disabled students into main line classrooms, and you get Cruz.

Obama truly is the gift that keeps on giving...

At least some of the latter. He and a brother were adopted by an old Hispanic couple, that's why he looks White despite the family name. Unfortunately, his adoptive father died in 2004, and as the new book details, Cruz mentally "broke" in middle school. Then his adoptive mother died three months before the shooting.

Whether there's a conspiracy or not, nine out of ten of these shooters come from a broken home, although that's normally a "voluntarily" broken one, vs. this case of a couple adopting when they were a bit too old to see it through.

We are a product of code, and no one gets to peruse the software before "buying." This is especially "a sealed box" with adoption.

How ironic that none other than Dennis Prager so encapsulated the public policy failure here with his review published on Amazon: “An ancient Talmudic adage warned: ‘Those who are kind to the cruel will be cruel to the kind.'"

Was the refusal to protect students from a dangerous psychopath in their midst a side-effect of Obama-era desire to de-police blacks in schools? Was this just another side-effect of the Brown SCOTUS ruling? Are blacks the real issue, and the mentally/behaviorally deranged just a sideshow?

It's entirely consistent with the general nationwide policy of "mainstreaming" "special needs" kids. This is supposed to provide them with great advantages compared to warehousing them in special schools like the one Cruz was sent to, then "graduated" out of into the normal high school. Our betters don't care what it does to the education of the normal kids who are in theory just trying to learn without having to dodge flying desks.

But being officially although not really a minority likely had some effect. Although as I recall the Obama program was aimed at criminal kids like Saint Trayvon, not ones who are mentally ill, even violently so. But I wouldn't be surprised if the school district took the money to apply it to kids like Cruz, they got $30-40 million as I recall.

on top of the already crazy policy of mainstreaming developmentally disabled students into main line classrooms

Mainstreaming kids with IQ's measured below 65 is now common. Sadly, they're still able to see just how profoundly handicapped they are compared to those around them. It's incredibly cruel.

A place to store their child while they're at work.
Or while they're getting stoned, or drunk, or so they can play their favorite video game without interruptions. Or just so they can sleep all day.

The bottom layers of society are now profoundly dysfunctional. Even rudimentary parenting is beyond their skill set. But they're *outstanding* at producing new kids with whom to fail.

Regardless of one's attribution for the origin of species, the effects of selection (or its temporary cessation) are governed by logic backed by empiricism. Dysgenic trends in reproduction are a consequence of innovation and empathy. I think we're doomed to see what happens when the consequences of belief reach the limit of accrual.

As white kids' education and safety was sacrificed to dilute black kids' dysfunction via integration and busing, white men's occupational opportunities sacrificed to supposedly-now-permanent preferential admission, hiring and promotion of less qualified blacks, women and those with Spanish-sounding surnames, normal kids' safety is sacrificed to somehow make the dangerous...less so?

We are ruled by demons. Lenin was right, it's all about who is doing what to whom.

As for empathy... I'd be more inclined to call what you're talking about candy-assery. You can be empathic without being foolish.

Otherwise stated, we are held apart from paradise by a sword of fire that is like time acting on our entropic tendency. Nothing withstands the fire except what is perfect, though the law tries to keep us from burning so quickly by removing what is already rotting.

Last time I checked, "implementing white 1950s-style public school environments" included warehousing "known violent lunatics" in asylums. Although I wouldn't want to guess about how many people today want to return to a mental health system that uses force to medicate and/or segregate the seriously mentally ill.

With the Left now openly genocidal while having so much control over the country, and the people and institutions who would recreate such a system, it's not something we can tolerate. See Red Flag laws for how they're implementing this on the sly.

Re: doctrev: "not care about your kids...public school" The interesting thing is that I came to that conclusion based on my impression of my own public schooling (1957 to 1969). There were some good teachers, like my 4th grade one who read us a chapter of the bible every morning, but at best it was obvious that the whole system was seriously flawed. When my son was born in 1989 I vowed that he would never see the inside of a government school. Luckily the classical Christian school movement came along, and I think that he received a reasonably good education. Sending kids to government school is child abuse. Don't do it.

Exactly that (aiding and abetting after the fact) happened with Trayvon. Perhaps it is more comforting to think about directed, overarching conspiracies than to contemplate that the people running this country are deliberately creating cracks all through it. For personal gain, see for example abusive prosecutors and politicians bribed by hostile foreign powers, because they want to hurt their enemies, perceived or real, as the Jews have done for centuries, and way too many are acting out destructive impulses, their personal demons driving their behavior more than anything else.

Most parents who are currently doing it were public school educated.

The vital bit is building character, and parents cannot do worse than the public schools on this. The second priority is teaching them reading and arithmetic. None of that is hard to get across if you can do it yourself.

About 1/3 of the kids are going to get educated if you don't stop them, about 1/3 are going to get as educated as you force them to, and about 1/3 aren't going to get much education no matter what you do. This third can be trained.

Parents can train or educate their children the way each particular child needs, which the public schools could never do, even if they weren't hopelessly pozzed. Parents who aren't going to bother to educate or train their children will generally see their children do poorly in public schools anyway. Stupid, uncaring parents are going to have children in their own mold, and the public schools can't fix that, either.

Kids with very high IQs come severely unstuck when locked in a system where normies hold positions of authority.

No matter which way I look at it, I always come to the same answer, our brightest are being eliminated, and it's no accident. Some will quietly kill themselves and others will bury their mind so deep in drugs that that may as well be dead, while others choose a nosier exit and gun down a few souls on the way, even working unknowingly for our enemies, as is possibly the case with this teenager.

If you have a high IQ kid, then I would suggest you make it a priority to keep them away from public school. If you are high IQ yourself and know a smart kid in a public school, remember they might not have smart or wealthy parents, then maybe say hi once in a while. We need all the smart kids we can get.

I believe the currently-fashionable view, that all adoptees suffer from primary separation/rejection from their mother. Having experienced this question from both sides, there are profound differences in life between an adoptee and those raised by biological family.

Even if the adoptee looks up the biological parents, the experience doesn't fill the hole. There's a sense of alienation (IMO) no matter what.

But then we exist in a time of widespread alienation. Corporations and faceless bureaucrats replaced the man whose hand you could shake, thus shearing most human activity of Christian morality, replacing it with naked profit-seeking and a soullessness worse than that of a stone septic tank.

Slowly but surely, society moves toward approval of supplying (at a markup) every vice that humans can find. We used to close businesses on weekdays at 6, and not sell liquor on Sundays. Now you'll be able to buy weed as easily as play video poker (there's a kiosk on literally every busy street in my county), and the state numbers racket (AKA lottery) has an app for your phone so you can gamble literally everywhere. I'm waiting for the full legalization of prostitution, given that our government couldn't care less about protecting children from on-line predators and pornography so filthy that all that's missing is the snuff component. [Oh, but vaping is now a target. 10-year-olds can watch Bruce boff Carl in Full Color on the Samsung and that's okay, but the search for witches to burn turns up e-cigs.]

Everywhere I look I see people working through their own issues, their own alienation. I see a society of people addicted to novelty-seeking, sweating on treadmills, chasing the rabbit that remains forever just out of reach.

Everybody has issues.

My high IQ kids went through the publics K through B.S. That said, my wife (who went back to work...teaching....at the same public grade school they attended...after she finished 15 years as a SAH mom) and I agreed about 10 years ago that if our kids were young at that time, we would not send them to the school where she teaches. Things had changed profoundly, and they've gotten worse since then.

This is a DAMN shame. All three of my kids were in the accelerated programs, esp. in H.S. Of all the irreproducible experiences they had, "Math Team" was at the top of the list. A truly gifted math teacher ran it, and that experience was directly credited by my one son for his getting straight A's throughout an engineering B.S.

No way on Earth my wife and I could have duplicated that experience. It was unexpected and unique. Structured as "education" is today, finding it outside of a large public H.S. would be highly unlikely (it's unlikely enough as is.)

We have no choice but to work with the tools that exist in our time. I don't know what I'd do if I had small kids now, and I watch with a degree of apprehension as my kids confront these questions.

When I was in grade 7 at age 12 I was sat beside a 17 year old in homeroom and science class. I complained he made me uncomfortable but the female teacher said she wanted me to help his grades. Well, I lost over 10% in my grades so I guess that helped... he later knocked up my friend's 14 year old sister. I suddenly understood why he made me uncomfortable.

After my parents had 4 boys, they adopted a 4-month-old girl from a Romanian orphanage. She did go through a rebellious phase where she stayed from her faith, but so did my 3 brothers.

Today she's a Godly woman, married a little over a year ago to a hard-working man. She became a mommy a few weeks ago and she and her husband are planning on many more.

I also grew up with a family that adopted a little boy from a Haitian orphanage. They already had 5 kids by birth. He grew up well adjusted, accepted by the mostly-white community. Never had problems in school, neither academically or behavior. Recently graduated from chiropractic college.

On the other hand, another couple at church adopted a girl from the same Haitian orphanage and had no end of problems. Spent some time in one of those camps for "troubled girls" and ended up pregnant in high school.

I realise this is just my own anecdotal experience, but the one thing consistent with the good outcomes that was missing in the bad was a stay-at-home mom.

Damn those admins who would rather traumatize kids than to act to put the loonies where they belong!
I taught for a long time - my first year, I was assigned a group of very nice 7th grade kids for math. One of the girls in the class was psychotic - she would yell at the imaginary people that surrounded her. After a fews days, the kids moved their desk as far away as they could manage.
I reported the problems, tried sending her our for disruption of class, and referred her for mental health services.
No go. I was stuck with a raving lunatic in a class of terrified 12 year olds, until - Praise God! - her mother decided it would be less trouble to home school her.

The smartest kid in my primary school was adopted. He got into epic proportions of trouble, which continues right through to this day. I recall not understanding why someone so smart could mess things up so bad. Others blamed it on him being adopted or "born bad" (FYI most kids thought he was very cool). On reflection now, I would say it was probably because he was 9 years old and smarter than all the kids, and all the teachers. He probably felt like an alien. Unfortunately, as an 8 year old I was not as wise then as I am now, so I just watched him amount to noting.
