Mailvox: the success dealers

A former candidate for Congress explains how it works:
Back in [REDACTED], I had been moved to righteous anger to run for political office, Congress, in my [REDACTED] district which was being weakly held by a non-progressive Democrat.  There were a number of Republican contenders, but the local party had picked one of their donors, an unfortunate blockhead with inherited money.  I took exception to this and pulled a Trump-to-Jeb! on the dude at every public engagement, which only earned the ire of the local party for my uppitiness and Ron Pauline views on government.

At a fundraiser dinner, I had a small coterie and the other candidates had theirs, larger and smaller, and I was surprised when a delegation of state Republicans - well known and connected - came over and asked me to join them at their table.  I obliged.  They showered me with compliments - how they liked my style, how I was clearly the one with the brains and ability to win etc - and then asked what path I was taking, where did I want to go: executive branch, senate, state politics, or if Congress was my goal.  I told them Congress was where I felt I could be most useful, and they pulled out a diagram that had my name on [a state organization] for a number of years, then county supervisor, then Congress.  They told me that this was not only the path they envisioned, but the path they could guarantee. Their words. All I had to do was drop out and endorse the blockhead. But he'll lose, I argued, and explained exactly why.  They nodded in agreement and said, we know. That's how we know you'll win here in [REDACTED].

They were offering me a seat in Congress if I played their game, changed my views, endorsed their loser, and then they would rig the system to ensure victory. Not MY victory, but THEIR victory with me as their puppet. I told them no, thank you, I was my own man and I'd rise and fall on that merit. They said the doors were always open and then went to the next table where a woman was also running for the same seat. They showed her a different diagram.  Two years later she was the Republican nominee for US Senate.

God was looking out for me.  But the point is that you are absolutely right - there are people who will buy your soul and they roam about like wolves preying on the ambitious, vain, or naive.
I've personally seen this sort of thing play out in music, media, politics, and publishing. I've heard about it from those who were offered the ticket in Hollywood, both in television and in movies. David Chapelle has spoken openly about the latter... hence Africa. And the modus operandi is always more or less the same. One little knee, one little submission, is all they initially ask of you to give you whatever you want and more.

They are success dealers, and the first hit is almost free....

Keep this in mind if you're tempted to accuse people of being jealous of those who are wealthier, more famous, or more successful. I can only speak for myself, of course, but I'm not jealous of anyone who has taken the ticket. I know the price they are paying and it isn't one that I was willing to pay.

The part where these party bosses said they'd know their current candidate would lose is very telling. More or less proves that the Republican party has been the Junior Partners in the global elite for decades now.

Blogger Out of Nod November 27, 2019 11:26 AM

Sadly, this is isn't uncommon. Part of the reason why Ron Paul never made it to the presidency waa because of these types of backroom deals. When Paul or one of his followers would gain traction, the party leadership - often incompetent, but influentual - would offer deals such as this, "You play the game this way and we'll throw you a bone." Politics.

I had a buddy who decided to go against the grain in this manner and he did well but without the "old guards" blessing he didn't get over the hump. My state remains blue because the Republicans at the top want to win on their terms.

Blogger Newscaper312 November 27, 2019 11:33 AM

The horrible aspect of it is that tradeoff -- hard to impact the game's outcome if you can't get on the field.

Trump's genius was in being able to play things just enough their way over their years, to get to the point where he could have maximum impact now doing them more *his* way.

Of course they hate him for it -- but if he'd been pure and above it all he would not be where he is to make a difference.

Unfortunately there just aren't many Trumps.

Blogger Johnny November 27, 2019 11:36 AM

I suppose the dullard funnels money into the party when he gets his way, and not being all that given to insight or new ideas, usually goes along spontaneously. That is his contribution.

And this guy? The complainer. Perhaps a good enough spokesperson that they saw him as useful. Unstated in the article is whether or not his political career was successful. Probably not because otherwise I suspect he would mention it.

Blogger Johnny November 27, 2019 11:46 AM

Seems like you can divine how contrived things are by how contentious they are. When everybody gets along, or the contentious behavior is contrived and fake, you know it is a rigged game. When it gets too rigged it ossifies and falls of its own weight. That is followed by a period of contention with real winners and losers, and then the new bosses settle in. Right away or eventually it becomes rigged again, depending on the character of the new bosses.

I met a Texan who told me stories of his consulting days in Washington. “I had to leave”, he said, “because they started trying to find my price.”

“Every man has a price, even me, and once they find it, they own you. So i left it all to make sure i wouldn’t be tempted”.

He was an impressive individual before i heard that from him. i thought even more so afterwards.

How to make money in politics:

You can't pay yourself with campaign donations. But you can pay anyone else. Your wife, for example. Politicians pay each other for positions. Campaign managers. Finance managers. Outreach coordinators. Consultants.

If you're not part of the club, you don't get the paid jobs. You don't get the committee positions either. And if you make enough of a nuisance of yourself, they will actively work against you.

Seen it firsthand. Talked politics with this guy at a social setting, friend of the family of family, said these were the qualities that were needed for this office at this time. The guy agreed, gave me a number from his contacts list to this big guy (huge), said give the guy a call and they’d make it happen. Never called, the big guy was recognizable as not one of the good guys. But it was just such proof of the elevator with a special key, and an obvious lanyard linking to the hip of the other. Speaking personally only, being a comparative nobody rather than selling the soul, the value is immense. Most people would not believe just how arranged things have been. So, the diagrams, not surprising. At all.

Besides Trump? Unlikely.

Trump's supporters are probably a Swamp faction who want to keep the empire strong, and are struggling with the Swamp faction who want to destroy the American portion of the empire for some goal which won't benefit the ``keep the empire strong'' faction.

Trump having found Swamp critters to work with him doesn't make him Swamp, but it constrains him. Odds are good accepting those constraints are his only option.

Fraud and embezzlement, pay-for-play, selling state secrets to the highest bidder, pedophilia, drug running, it's all going on, and nobody dares go after another's crimes for fear his own will be exposed. The globohomo faction of the Swamp sees destroying the American nation as the most profitable path. The MAGA faction of the Swamp sees globohomo as killing the goose which lays their golden eggs. This has given Trump an opening to maybe, someday, expose many of the globohomo factions' crimes. Expect that the investigations will go far enough to bring the globohomo Swamp faction to heel. Clintons and 0bamas and Pelosis and Bidens and McCains and Ryans and Flakes and Murkowskis may die in prison. I think this is a likely worst case for the next 5 years.

Unless Trump is able to outmaneuver his Swamp supporters, there will be a big section of the Swamp that doesn't get drained. If Trump does outmaneuver the Swampies who support him, we get the best case, in which the Swamp gets drained and filled.

This is an example of how the representation in the House is broken. No one can tell my why a Constitutional Amendment was never passed to set the House members to 435 members yet an amendment was required for the direct election of senators. If the House were apportioned by population as intended, there would be hundreds if not thousands of representatives to buy off and at some point even that is too great an expense. Funny that none of the douchebags on the left talk about this miscarriage of democratic representation.

I'm thoroughly convinced though that one reason nothing gets better in Congress regardless of party because someone somewhere has them diddling a boy or girl or an animal on camera or something else they should not be doing.

They need some reason to trust that you won't expose their crimes. If they believe you are too stupid or too honest to be trusted, you get busted with a freezer full of cash, or get busted soliciting blowjobs in the airport mens room, or something, anything, that doesn't expose the rest of the herd. I have seen the GOP to fair-haired boy stuff in the backrooms.
This is why we end up with trench-coated men asking questions except that is the leftist media depiction of it. In reality, the Germans were trying to be polite thorough and not just "arrest everybody", which is what the left does.
We really do need to find out the people who cut the checks, made the diagrams, made the decisions, and know exactly what to charge them with.
"But.... FREE SPEECH! What they did was legal! Nobody got hurt! Private organization! NAP! They were not being evil to MEEEEEE"
Well since it's OK to get accused of sex stuff decades later - especially when it's convenient for the deep state - then what the GOP did backstage yesterday won't be legal forever. Lots of people died from political grift, and that's just the measure. The cost in quality of life, hopes and dreams, and lives not created - yet were "replaced" by the same people keeping the borders open, gee what a cohencidence are yet to be accounted for and charges weighed.

As long as there's been politics there's been corruption in politics. Some people persist in maintaining emotional perspectives on the subject, having nothing to do with evidence but based solely on not wanting to believe "bad things" about their own country. I got over that long ago.

“According to several of our sources among the ‘old spies,’ Richard Nixon’s political career began in 1945, when he was the navy officer temporarily assigned to review . . . captured Nazi documents.” The documents in question revealed the wartime record of Karl Blessing, “former Reichsbank officer and then head of the Nazi oil cartel, Kontinentale Ol A.G. ‘Konti’ was in partnership with Dulles’s principal Nazi client, I.G. Farben. Both companies had despicable records regarding their treatment of Jews during the Holocaust. After the war Dulles not only ‘lost’ Blessings Nazi party records, but he helped peddle a false biography in the ever-gullible ‘New York Times.'” The authors’ sources reveal that not only did Dulles help cover up his Nazi client’s record, he “personally vouched for Blessing as an anti-Nazi in order to protect continued control of German oil interests in the Middle East. Blessing’s Konti was the Nazi link to Iben Saud [King of Saudi Arabia] and Aramco [the Arabian-American Oil Company]. If Blessing went down, he could have taken a lot of people with him, including Allen Dulles. The cover-up worked, except that U.S. Naval Intelligence scrutinized a set of the captured Konti records.”

According to the “old spies,” Allen Dulles made a deal with the young navy officer who was reviewing the Konti files – Richard Nixon. Nixon would help Dulles bury the Konti files. In return, Allen Dulles “arranged to finance [Nixon’s] first congressional campaign against Jerry Voorhis.”

Allen Dulles was Director of the CIA. His brother John Foster Dulles was Secretary of State. Both were instrumental in creating and deepening the Cold War, the longest-running and easily most profitable scam ever run on the American people, outside of politics itself, up to that time.

Like FDR, both the Dulles brothers were tightly connected to Wall Street and the (((east coast banking fraternity))).

Only the names change but the game remains the same ...

It's interesting how Trump has avoided this problem. It's because of the nature of his career path. He is big in two disparate fields: media and real estate. What he does is leverage resources from one to make headway in another. He parlays some real estate success into making headway in media. He then parlays some media success into making headway in real estate. By moving laterally between these two fields he is never entirely beholden to the success dealers in any one field. Thus, he has carved out relative freedom of action in his endeavors, including the presidency.

I think it is a little different from that. The swamp is a parallel society, one that has been developing and growing for several centuries. Its started its control of the US in the beginning of the Civil War and has gone global since the beginning of the WWI.

Looking at the last 30 years of US history, it's fairly clear that policy was driven to bust out the United States and to move resources and personnel to a new, rising empire, probably China. The mass immigration, the offshore outsourcing, the terrorism, the wars, the racial strife all point to this plan. The final act was Hillary Clinton starting a limited nuclear war with Russia so that either country has its ability to project power crippled. The new parallel society then rules the world from China.

What the swamp did not count out was the possibility of their Chinese partners betraying them.

The military branch of the swamp got wind of this and now it is waging war on the other branches for not foreseeing this betrayal. After all, failure within Hydra is death. The other branches getting warred upon are fighting for their survival, but with a much more crippled resource base then the one they had available before. Now, they actually have to rely on the fake veneer of power that the hoi polloi erroneously think is in control.

It is not going well for them.

This is why things like the Mueller Report failed and why Trump is so invincible. He is a recruit of this faction of the swamp. They chose him because he has none of the baggage of other possible leaders, plus the personality to withstand the rest of the swamp.

At least, that's my theory.

From C S Lewis' address on "The Inner Ring" (which I highly recommend) delivered in 1944:

And the prophecy I make is this. To nine out of ten of you the choice which could lead to scoundrelism will come, when it does come, in no very dramatic colours. Obviously bad men, obviously threatening or bribing, will almost certainly not appear. Over a drink, or a cup of coffee, disguised as triviality and sandwiched between two jokes, from the lips of a man, or woman, whom you have recently been getting to know rather better and whom you hope to know better still — just at the moment when you are most anxious not to appear crude, or naïf or a prig — the hint will come. It will be the hint of something which the public, the ignorant, romantic public, would never understand: something which even the outsiders in your own profession are apt to make a fuss about: but something, says your new friend, which “we” — and at the word “we” you try not to blush for mere pleasure — something “we always do.”
And you will be drawn in, if you are drawn in, not by desire for gain or ease, but simply because at that moment, when the cup was so near your lips, you cannot bear to be thrust back again into the cold outer world. It would be so terrible to see the other man’s face — that genial, confidential, delightfully sophisticated face — turn suddenly cold and contemptuous, to know that you had been tried for the Inner Ring and rejected. And then, if you are drawn in, next week it will be something a little further from the rules, and next year something further still, but all in the jolliest, friendliest spirit. It may end in a crash, a scandal, and penal servitude; it may end in millions, a peerage and giving the prizes at your old school. But you will be a scoundrel.

Latigo3,

The most important word Paul uses in Ephesians 6:12 is wrestle. He doesn't say refuse to engage with, submit, or cuck. He says we wrestle. So Paul exhorts us to fight these people and forces.

Refusing to fight these people in politics because you say it isn't Christian is 100% wrong.

Duty is ours, results are God's

From this person's story it sounds like we are really ruled by competing aristocracies, and that representative democracy is a carefully controlled spectacle to create the illusion of the consent of the governed. In other words, it sounds like we are governed by the exact same systems that have governed humans since they first gathered in the plains of Shinar (albeit with minor, inconsequential and mostly short term modifications).

Thank God that He broke us up into separate Nations. Then at least the ruling aristocracies have some level of accountability to their fellow countrymen who they are lording over. Which is why Nationalism is the only structural principle of government with any lasting value.

The father of a friend of mine was an attorney with in a GOP administration. He was, and is, a relatively honest man. He was told to let a few minor slips by other officials slide. Misdemeanors. No felonies.

He thought about it. Really did. But he is also the man who made his own mother pay her traffic tickets. So he passed. In two years he was quietly exiled to the outer ring, and then out of the game all together. He then moved to the remote West to "Get out of the way".

You are not allowed to be in power if they don't have something on you. Be it in business, government, or NGO's. You are not allowed in unless you are as dirty as the rest of them.

So think of that when you work for that next promotion. That next position. The next rung on the ladder. At some point, you will have to put a pinch of incense to get the go ahead. It usually starts small, it can end with the loss of your soul

That is why Trump is the Black Swan to them. They don't know what to do about it.

I suppose it's redundant to point out that this very slow moral wedge is exactly how organized crime and espionage (corporate and national) groups create informers, moles, and expendable assets?

It seems to me that the over-regulated nanny state is a primer for this. When everyone has to violate a rule or two every day to get by - or even just imagines they do - then the opening move in the subversion has already been made, and there's also a perfect moral cover in the event of being rebuffed "I know, I agree, it's just how it is these days, as you know."

To be clear, I think that is the motivation for self-professed libertines to approve ever tighter rules on everything.

They thought they had enough on Trump. I mean, he succeeded in real estate in NEW YORK, for pete's sake...there had to be something buried.

But he has been planning this a long time, and made sure his skeletons came out decades ago. Marla Maples coming out TODAY could have sunk him... and in Truth, the Marla Maples thing felt like a set-up from the beginning.

And then when he bucked the lead, they tried, and failed, to Kennedy him. Several times. Over 700 times, so far.

That's why Trump doesn't trust the Secret Service Praetorian Guard. They are in the heart of the swamp.

Zaklog,

I always appreciated that song, precisely for that line.

Can I recommend to you Proverbs 24: 16 as the antidote for those of us who have been tested in various ways and often failed?

“For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again...”

In support to the "Inner Ring":

I once knew a man who would often visit a Scottish Rite lodge where a weekly swing dancing event occured. One time, a couple members were keeping and an eye on the place until it closed while the dancers enjoyed their evening, and this man got into a conversation with one of the members while resting between songs.

"Is there anything you want to do in life? Change the world?" He asked. "We could help you with that."

The man, being a Christian and having a passing knowledge of Masonry and its practices, turned the member down. The conversation ended and neither party heard from each other again.

The deal is very subtle - it can come when you least expect it, but if you are aware of the spiritual elements behind it and have developed discernment, you will recognize it.

One can be in the world yet not be of the world, like Trump that played their game until he was in a position to challenge the system. It's crucial to occupy spaces with our guys even it's within enemy territory.
