No despair nancies

If you're going to be a despair nancy, just go away now. Take that weak, worrisome "I just fear bad things will happen to people who are braver than me" bullshit to Hell from whence it came. You are literally worse than useless. If you were truly concerned, you'd be praying for them in silence, you wouldn't be issuing what could quite reasonably be seen as implicit threats in public.

Understand this is a hard and fast rule. If you are a demoralizer, if you are a black-piller, you WILL be banned. Period. And I don't give an airborne rodent's posterior if your fear is genuine. In fact, that would be all the more reason to banish you from our midst.

WE are not given a spirit of fear. If YOU are, then obviously you are not us.

If you can't steel yourself and find the courage to stand in the ranks without flinching, then we neither need nor want you at our sides.

Nancy was trained by conservatives, conservatives always accept the basic premise put forth by the Left which means they lose slow at first then a collapse then a new line in the sand scam, repeat.

Here is how I govern my house so as to not allow despair politics of Cultural Marxism to rule us. Never allow the Left/Establishment uncontested Moral Level domination, I don't care if I use the dreaded "ad hominem" tactic.

If a guy like me who rarely reaches the Beta level on the Vox scale can do it effectively even the super duper Alpha 10 standard deviations above the mean IQ types can as well.

CONservatives never look for the enemy's weak spots, instead they get back to filling word filled sandbags for their essay bunkers, you know for the last line of defense scams.

Since I have never been much of a conservative I think like a 3GW Maneuver War tactician, scout for weak spots drive thru to the decision point, route the enemy by leaving them in an untenable position.

It's not that hard. Analysis is about what you ANTICIPATE will happen. That can be positive or negative, but it is a position by which you will stand.

Negative talk is about what you FEAR will happen. It is seldom a position by which anyone will stand. I have heard fears expressed about X being offed since 2001. Literally NONE of them have ever come to pass. So, it's obvious nonsense.

You can tell by the only argument the Left uses against him today, that Project Veritas is "discredited", and citing them on anything is disqualifying. He's also survived some very serious lawfare from the Left, which would have killed the less dedicated.

Try this, "In the Name and authority of Jesus, I command all voices to silence except that of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit." The immediate peace in your head is astonishing. "Do you mean I suffered all that just because I didn't know about that?" The answer? "Yes, remember it now, and going forward. Use the tool given you." Those who despair of the future have none.

Assume defeat, and defeat will come.

If you believe in winning, victory CAN come, even as a battle here or a battle there does not turn out the way you planned, or wanted.

Ronald Reagan, for all his shortcomings, understood this. That's why he said, "Here's my strategy on the Cold War: we win, they lose.”

It's why the GE has taken up the mantle of "winning." And even more important, the belief in winning has at its foundation sound principles, a sound vision.

Everybody, look around you. Even those who you wouldn't necessarily align with are pushing back, fighting some localized yet important battles, even if they don't know it. In science, in journalism, in law, and yes, even in the academy. These individuals are not part of THIS community, but they do things, argue things, and take stands.

Last night I had a fairly heated discussion with a person I know, and in certain respects admire as a father, husband, accomplished in business. I watched him boil, as I calmly explained to him why he was embracing pretty little lies.

He said at the end, "I shouldn't have these discussions with you because they upset me." I replied, "You should have them because they DO upset you."

Maybe it's fruitless with folks like him, I don't know.

Predicting the collapse of empire and all the various forms of evil which the god of this world has managed to form is not black-pilling.
God's triumph is a given - as was Christ's accomplishment - it's a fait accompli!
However, the process can involve setbacks because of our lack of faith and/or action. As I tell my family, we are here for His mission - He is not our divine butler!
Whatever happens in our lifetime happens - our job is to build the alternative system which will replace DaOldDevilScratch's evil crapola!

Fun fact, the entire southern border can be covered by 200 Paladin (M-109) Howitzers.

My own thoughts are that while the killing of women and children is tragic, they chose to move to Mexico. Why should we send young men there? Seal the border instead. If you want the protections of the United States, live in the United States.

Imagine the MSM backlash, and the contrasting popular support, of using the Army to besiege the so-called Sanctuary Cities: allowing the Citizens to escape, and apprehending the aliens and their facilitators (i.e. the city-government and local law-enforcement)…

Mystic On Main wrote:"It is also far more realistic"

Depends on the battle. The fight for a racist society is lost. The fight for a Christian ruled America and Europe is lost. However, a Nationalist America is still on the table.

This illustrates a lack of faith, a lack of understanding: Jesus is the only hope the US has to continue. And, moreover, God is willing [eager, IMO] to turn away from destroying a nation. (See Jonah, Ezekiel 18:32, Ezekiel 33:11, Jeremiah 18:8 – "If that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them.")

Again, look at the above: Just 200 Paladin howitzers can cover the entire US/Mexico border.
And look at Gideon: Just 300 men defeated the Army of Midian.

I've been lurking for a few weeks, mostly looking at older posts on certain tags. Having read the first two SJW books, I've already learned a lot about handling issues that come up with people of that nature. So far, so good.

I'm not an American, but I have family there (and I hope to move there someday soon). So, at this point I can't do much except cheerlead for the people fighting the good fight there. I've spent the past month working to keep my wife optimistic about her MLM business, so I've got plenty of experience with fear and negativity. And, as I continually tell her, faith and fear are trade-offs; the more of one you have, the less of the other you project. Getting her to focus on the faith instead of the fear is the real challenge, but it's slowly seeping in.

I see no point in being negative; time passes by either way, so you might as well look on the bright side. Besides, there are already enough people doing the 'woe is me' thing; it's time to bring the positive.

So, is there a waiting period to be inducted into the Evil Legion of Evil? Do I have to sacrifice a stack of Hugo-award-winning books in a pool of post-election SJW tears? I still have a stock remaining from November 2016; it was a great vintage.

I'll confess to getting frustrated, but never defeatist. And now? I see a clear path ahead. Although it will frustrate some people.

It is now clear that Trump is holding his fire for the 2020 campaign. Do not expect to see the Horowitz report until after New Year. I would bet it's ready, but embargoed.

What I think Trump WANTS is:
1. House votes. Either impeach or not, but soon.
2. If they vote to impeach, public trial in the Senate. Biden's crimes are fully exposed, Trump's innocence proven. Biden gets arrested for bribery.
3. With the decks cleared, Horowitz report is released. It proves the illegal use of USG surveillance capabilities against the Trump campaign in 2016.
4. About this time, the Dems pick their nominee. Who will be a sacrificial goat.
5. Durham investigation comes up with prosecutions. THIS is the Main Event. The Seditious Conspiracy gets rolled up. Mass arrests, not merely in the FBI, CIA, State, and DOJ, but in the Propaganda Press as well.
6. Trump wins big. Dems are looking at massive losses in 2022.

Invictus

By William Ernest Henley

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate,
I am the captain of my soul.

I highly recommend the Heroic poems of the Victorian Era, when you start to pussy out. Stiff upper lips have their benefits.

Or, Fuck Feelings.

My latest bias is that I refuse to pay attention to anyone over 35 (male, 30 for females) who doesn't have kids. If you complain about the demographic changes and you haven't bothered to procreate when you are capable, I have no time whatsoever for your opinions, no matter how grounded.

I particularly don't have time for the incel/MGTOW crowd. Anyone so utterly defeated to give up on the most fundamental act in human existence is hardly going to be a staunch ally in a civil war (etc).

That takes out a horde of fake conservatives too. Gay men, cat women and trannies should be ignored, and they should never ever be given any form of influence over policy.

I see mention of Denethor in this thread. There's more to that character than the film version of LOTR let on. I think Jackson might have decided to make the character match his final act of self-immolation.
The book was much better. Denethor was not some gamma boy usurper. Rather stoic and had a lot to deal with actually. Tolkien was not messing around with the contrast, for what it was: a good man who broke from grief and fear.

It was later found out that Denethor had a Palantir. And through that Sauron was able to fill Denethor with doubt and fear.
To blackpill him, so to speak.

It's not purely accident that the logos for Chrome, IE, and Firefox are all round globes like Palantiri.

And through such browsers comes what? Hate and rage mobs. SJW crap. Brown people and Jews boasting about how whites are going to be replaced and punished. The list could go on.

Out in the real world, it's not so bad. I see more young white couples with children than I did when I was young myself.

You see the "masses" are not as retarded as it always seems. Back when MADD was doing their anti-drunk driving thing, the cops started making big bucks on arresting and charging people for DWI. But MADD was successful and ruined that.
So that's why we have DUI. That's why we went from having to be sloshed behind the wheel to admitting to a cop you had a glass of wine with your dinner. Because people listened to the message, and the state had to up their racket.

People are listening, and the state - and all the cohorts of anti-civilization/Christ - are upping their racket because of that. So young women are looking at their failed boomer mother or their GenX wine aunt and deciding they won't be like that.

If you spend all day with that Palantir and get information that is curated and controlled by people who "want dominion over all life on earth", then blackpilling will be the result. All the while there is actually much to be hopeful for, so much more that can be done, and evil so much weaker than they really are. That's what makes self-immolation to ridiculous.

Blogger Barbarossa November 06, 2019 1:35 PM

@94 Amen to that. The one small unit action that almost all of us can participate in is providing the next class of recruits in this, our ongoing civilizational struggle. And you know this how?

Blogger plishman November 06, 2019 2:19 PM

I think what goes for the life lived as Christian - that 'if you're not picking up resistance then you're doing it wrong' - can (by observation) be made more specific for the Christian life lived in this age, given that the opponent's playbook is so limited.

That is to say, if they're not calling you a ((ra|fas)cist|nazi|bigot|(hom|islam)ophobe) then you're doing it wrong.

The words don't actually mean anything at this point, they're just noises that indicate the opponents' souls are suffering. And while the Christian should not cause suffering gratuitously (for the damage it does to one's own spirit as much as out of compassion for others), the minimum action necessary to relieve the suffering should generally be taken if one is qualified to do so (that is, if one can act reliably according to Christ's example) - especially if an opponent's behaviour is a danger to his own soul, or - more urgently - the souls of others.

To remember to apply forces to nature only in the service of God and his motive - love - is a hard thing to do reliably, or - in some cases - at all.

When you do this and you're getting opposition, think of those occasions in the same way as the times in a game when your score is increasing. But to tell others of your good works for the sake of their approval spends that balance - it subtracts from the score.

Blogger Karhu November 06, 2019 2:20 PM

"@94 Amen to that. The one small unit action that almost all of us can participate in is providing the next class of recruits in this, our ongoing civilizational struggle."

Really?? I was under the strong impression that the number of women willing *and able* to stay faithful (enough, see the recent reports on genetic matching between fathers and children), and man were out of wack in the US. Statistically some substantial number of men won't be able to "participate", or will find themselves substantially or entirely cut off from their progeny.

As a heuristic of who to trust, limiting to those who have skin in the game makes sense, although people with nieces and nephews might be considered. Going further to the disdain you and the Truth in Advertising @94 Jim the Curmudgeon express towards statistically inevitable unlucky men only divides us.

In your own way, by punching down on them you're being a lot like Despair Nancies. You are explicitly shaming them, in other words, black pilling them when at worst you could just leave them alone. At best, figuring out what places they might safely be slotted into our movement.

@Karhu, you know human nature doesn't change and that means that the fidelity of women has always been a problem. Okay, so what? Why worry about something that has always been the case?

I'll tell you a family story. I have a Germanic relative who was raped by a Red Army soldier and she fell pregnant with her first son as a result. What happened to her and the baby? She got a marriage proposal while pregnant from an Austrian who said he would act as father so long as they were married. To you this is an unhappy ending. To me? A very happy one. That little boy grew up into a man and now he has his own grandchildren.

You're missing the whole point which is that people who show up get the credit. The Austrian gets the credit in my story and the Red Army soldier does not. Incidentally this male relative is the most Germanic-nationalist of his siblings.

And you're right about human nature, the two of you can't put aside your aggression to, you know, actually address my points instead of knocking down strawmen. Which makes sense, because my major one is about your aggression against the less fortunate.

Which I shouldn't have to explain involves more than just human nature. The social and legal environment in the US, to again cite Jim of Jim Blog, this time on solid ground, has stopped punishing female misbehavior. As you very well know, it encourages it, in a shall we say a sociological experiment that, against getting back to statistics, has resulted in populations that aren't reproducing.

"In your own way, by punching down on them you're being a lot like Despair Nancies.

No, they're not at all. Telling people what they are doing is not working is not at all akin to telling them nothing they can do will ever work."

That was not what they were doing, with one partial exception:

"and you haven't bothered to procreate when you are capable"

The following is the exception, as a implicit warning to not end up in either of these two groups, who have officially given up on "doing."

"I particularly don't have time for the incel/MGTOW crowd. Anyone so utterly defeated to give up on the most fundamental act in human existence is hardly going to be a staunch ally in a civil war (etc)."

And the author might be correct, but in the Bioleninist framework they're potentially very useful and dangerous to us. As a group, I'm not willing to give up on them.

"But that also means we have to sacrifice that second mocha latte of the day to pay for junior's football league or sissy's dance class. It means shelving "self-actualization" and actually paying attention to someone other oneself. Obviously too much trouble for some of the demi-gods we have among us."

The above are pointless attacks; if the shoe fits, the targets are not "doing", so of course that's not working, and by definition is not telling them "what they are (not) doing is not working." But that constant "man up" refrain has to be galling and blackpilling for those who are actually trying to do something.

Getting back to my original point, in the US, statistically a number of men are going to fail no matter how much or how well they try, it's worse than a zero-sum game given the populations and rules of the game. That has implications; as I noted, @94 Jim the Curmudgeon's starting point about those over 35 without children has some merit. But it seems unwise to discard these people like trash as Kevin D. Williamson more generally does. What to to about and with them now, and in preparation for hard times, could make a lot of difference.

I told you a story about someone who is cut off from his sperm donor but gained a father to himself and his siblings. His Austrian father came, saw an opportunity for a win-win, and got ahead in the game. That Austrian statistically matters while the Red Army soldier does not.

And the author might be correct, but in the Bioleninist framework they're potentially very useful and dangerous to us. As a group, I'm not willing to give up on them.

Statistically the Red Army soldier doesn't matter. What don't you get? Sorry but in times of strife good men will look out for women before they look out for a guy who has nothing in the game. Food for thought.

"And the author might be correct, but in the Bioleninist framework they're potentially very useful and dangerous to us. As a group, I'm not willing to give up on them.

Statistically the Red Army soldier doesn't matter. What don't you get? Sorry but in times of strife good men will look out for women before they look out for a guy who has nothing in the game. Food for thought."

The point is about the men who will be attacking him and his women. Statistically any single one doesn't matter, but you can't see how subtracting millions from the other side could not make a difference in the outcome?

The side I'm arguing against says Kevin Williams style, these people deserve to die. The Bioleninists have faction problems, especially with straight white men, but ignoring that, their message is join us, and you'll get power you never could earn on your own. Which most certainly would include access to women, a *very* powerful motivation.

Food for thought indeed, the men who can't think outside the scope of their families may well end up without them, not that they'll have much time in this fallen world to contemplate that.

Blogger The Cooler November 06, 2019 4:59 PM

I'm not willing to give up on them.

Then don't.

statistically a number of men are going to fail no matter how much or how well they try, it's worse than a zero-sum game given the populations and rules of the game.

Then assist them.

Are you seeking converts? It is an honest (rhetorical) question; you're clearly emotionally invested in... this, whatever 'this' is.

And there's no way the Dems get 20 Republicans to knife Trump in the Senate. Not with the "evidence" they've got.

As for mass arrests, I strongly believe that Dunham is onto the Seditious Conspiracy that went into operation after Trump won the election. This is just irrelevant excuse making. There is no shortage of single women and many of them are attractive and relatively sane.

There is no shortage of women lowering their reproductive value by waiting until their fertile years are behind them to look for a husband. They have chosen careers over motherhood because that's what everyone, their families included, have encouraged them to do. No one tells women that they have failed as women. Only men are told that they have failed as men. This emboldens women to the point of stubbornness, so when they do fail as women, they deflect it back to the same people who told them to go to university and spend their fertile years "finding themselves."

This boomer (or gen x) posting by guys who think it's still 197x, or 198x, or some other Really Cool Year in the past when all you had to do was show up with a leather jacket and a motorcycle and a nubile virgin would fall at your feet is quaint. Men will take risks to secure a mate and offspring when reproductive opportunities are plentiful. Men are not going to take greater risks when women are doing everything to signal in the opposite direction of motherhood.

Everyone is telling women that they are men who can't fail as men. The first step toward reclaiming our civilization is for men on the right to stop doing that. I don't expect it from the left, but when men on the right wax enthusiastic about their daughter the high school soccer MVP, or their daughter the marine, or their daughter the lawyer, I want to pull my hair out.

What do you hope to accomplish by making excuses for why it's difficult to find a wife? Even if that's more difficult than it used to be -- so what? We all must play the hand we're dealt and there is no viable alternative to getting married and having children.

Quitting because some part of this is too difficult is contemptible. And FFS why are you paying any attention to what obviously brainwashed young women say they want? Virtually all of those who say they want careers do so only because that's what they've been taught to believe since childhood. Most of them have no idea how quickly their fertility will decline. It's biology vs. paper thin progressive conditioning and a man who makes them feel safe and nudges them toward having children can usually tip the scales in favor of biology.

I like to always remember the adage "never underestimate your enemies". That said, I'm well aware of how many people are becoming woke, I see good news in alternate platforms; I even have a few neat ideas myself, which I have worked on. I'm aware that the left is getting desperate.
Still, for me, there's a very fine line between all that and 'so what'. I don't care about winning or losing, I'm so fed up with their dirty shit that all I want to do is stick it to them. Stick it to them with glee.
I noticed something recently. There was a man who everyone said was Ok, but to me he had one count of weird think on his score card. People thought I was overreacting until he made a second count of weird think, and I was more or less vindicated.
The Bible says that a false accusation is a very bad thing, that and I don't want to add to the dearth of justice in this land. So when I told the guy privately that he won't spend time alone with my kids, I had to be careful how I said it. One can get in trouble doing the right thing these days, but OTOH, I didn't want any ambiguity at all.
So while I was calmly telling him about grave consequences, I noticed something I've never done before. I kept feeling the corners of my mouth curving up into a grin. My mind goes into dual mode, and I'm yelling at myself "NO GRINNING, stop that grinning".
If the guy noticed, it probably made the thinly veiled threat more compelling. Damn. We really do live in interesting times.

@119 Karhu: "amoral familism, to think beyond the narrow scope of what's "local", immediate, and direct to myself."

And here's your fatal flaw: You do not have power and control or guidance of anything beyond what you describe as a "narrow scope"! Your duty as a man, as a head of a household if you were such, is to TAKE CARE of that narrow scope. Protect and grow what is "local" and immediate and related to yourself! Your family, your neighbors, your tribe, your nation. Ol' Jordie maybe a meth-head nutcase, but "clean your room" actually has a sound basis: You cannot "fix" what is not-local, further away in time and space, and only direct to yourself in its broader long-term results. Your duty is to fix exactly what is local, and help other local men do the same. That is where the nation gets its army and its future! Not by spending your limited time on Earth trying to become ruler and controller!

"Buh buh buh, I have to make a BIGGER difference!" is flat-out leftism. "God grant me the power to change what I can," right? You cannot change the country. You can work locally to form a force to maybe change the country.

"And all for the want of horseshoe nail"! Ever heard that poem?

Karhu, those of us who have had children have provided future allies for our allies' children. What have you, or the childless, done for the future fight?

I'm not against the childless, I appreciate what they do today, but they're gone tomorrow.

@newscaper312 That's certainly a possibility, but I think a big part was resolution of tension. I was having doubts about the guy. Since I'm not a 'people person' my social skills rank about with Ugg the cave man, and I lean on others' interpretations. They were saying 'not a problem', I was bothered by what I consider a rational calculation; that is: why does this man not take precautions when wanting to be alone with my kids? Bring your wife, do something to show that you're aware of how perverted this society is, and that you've pro actively and preemptively taken a step to show your awareness. Lacking that is bad think number one.
A strange and perverse SM post was number two. I'm sure that the amoral parts of this society added to the tension. The left has no damn idea of the tension they're building. Oh my goodness, a free for all they can't imagine, because they have long since made civility a trivial thing.

And that duty is completely detaching from *thinking* beyond the local narrow scope in the style of amoral familism?

The universalist Bible gives me no insight into who's truly my neighbor? In the US, how do I determine what's my tribe, or what my nation is or should be? Concepts, "thoughts", like the Hajnal line are of no use in this?

Perhaps I'm failing to communicate clearly, but I can't see how you can get from what I said to the insane concepts of "spending your limited time on Earth trying to become ruler and controller!" or "Buh buh buh, I have to make a BIGGER difference!" I guess thinking really is dangerous, and should be avoided at all costs.

What sort of pathology leads to such wild unsupportable leaps? Deflection from points that can't be answered without compelling one to gain compassion for those less fortunate? Yep, better to be a despairing nancy towards them, your disdain and even hatred will show them! And totally won't result in any local blowback if/when really hard times return.

I've been away from the blog for quite a while and have just started checking back periodically. I'm surprised at the change in tone. This particular post is an example. I wonder how much the ongoing impeachment saga contributes to the malaise? No unredacted disclosures, no investigation reports, no charges, nothing but insults. That's frustrating, but I figured this blog wouldn't give up until all the rats were hung.

Blogger Raker_T November 07, 2019 12:00 PM

I need to be clear, the guy wasn't wringing his hands together saying "I want your chilllldren, bwahaha." He wanted to take them along on outdoor activities he was already doing; that he probably did when he was a kid. That, and in today's world, the highways, airplanes and communication mean children grow up, go to college or get a job far away, and their parents aren't near the grandchildren. So my children are like substitute grandchildren, I get that. But nobody should display a lack of awareness about the contemporary societal condition.

All the wizardry and numerology that people research when black pilled and looking for the truth will get them lost.

Here is the white pill, the 9-11 attacks were chosen to be carried out on that day to commemorate the victory of a battle. The de-etymologicalization of anything into 9-11 by politicians in the past is not a secret numerology, the repetition is to brag about winning this battle and to celebrate the history of the organized crime syndicate that controls North America in the name of their profit.

This isn't about my personal struggles finding a wife, it's about understanding how to coordinate incentives so that men and women don't end up childless. If I was God's gift to women there would still be millions of unmarriageble women and women who are marriageble but remain single because they refuse to settle for second best, and guys like you applauding their unrestrained hypergamy and scorning men for not meeting their standards. The way you frame it, there are all of these "sane attractive" women waiting around for husbands but men are too timid to make the first move. That tells me you're from a sexual marketplace that was slightly less flawed than the extant one. Men lacking the confidence to pursue sane attractive women is not the reality today.

Men who do not signal their reproductive interest in women do so because women are not signalling their reproductive interests to men. Going to university, working white collar jobs, outearning 90% of men and having sexual relationships outside of marriage does not signal a reproductive interest to men who wish to have families. This is the stimuli that men are responding to. It has nothing to do what women are saying but with what women are doing, often with the full backing of their Joe Sixpack dads. When women are earning $100k+ and racking up a notch count, how are men supposed to behave? According to you, they're supposed to put themselves under greater stress for feminism. That's like keeping your money parked in an investment whose risk has doubled and whose payoff has diminished.

No one cares if you or anyone else thinks it is contemptible for men to avoid marriage; that is not an incentive for men to get married. Men are faced with stimuli and will respond to it accordingly no matter what anyone thinks. The solution is not MGTOW, the solution is to approach this from both sides. The "progressive brainwashing" that girls act on is implanted by conservative Joe Sixpack dads just as much as it's put there by progressives. (Who has more kids? It's not progressives.) Ask yourself how playing competitive sports helps girls prepare for motherhood. And yet, for some reason, the spectator booths at high school girl's soccer games are filled with Joe Sixpack dada cheering on their daughters playing in the mud like boys. If conservative middle American parents raised their daughters to be ladies instead of career seeking tomboys who can't lose, there would be more incentives for men to pursue women because women would be signalling a reproductive interest to men. Since working harder for feminism isn't bearing fruit, how about we try something new?

I've asked people here to pray once before, but I'm going to have to do it even more this time. Milady has pancreatic cancer, and we came to a major Southern cancer center thinking she would either get surgery or into a T-cell study with great success.

Instead, we had to make an ER run within 12 hours of getting into town, because Milady's pain went to a 10 mostly out of the blue. Ends up she has a lesion near her spine that no one had seen, the spot on the liver was metastatic, and the pancreas tumor had grown significantly from a scan we'd had here 2 weeks ago. She can't join that T-cell study because you have to stop all other treatments for 2 months (and she clearly can't). Instead, they're radiating, and then we go home and see if the next type of chemo helps.

We've gone from a chance of making things long term to fighting for months. There are still treatments and options, but the fight has changed to possibly finding a win in this world to a fighting withdrawal towards the next.

This whole concept that things are supposed to be nice, easy, and good? That's just as anti-Christ as universalism or "I'm good enough to get to heaven". God doesn't promise that all things will be good, He promises that all things will be worked to the good of those who believe. We fight to win, and then if we can't, we fight to win by losing, and getting our crown in the next life. If you can't fight, then as Christ himself said, "Get thee behind me Satan!"

Please pray for Milady, our kids, and myself. We've been blessed with a significant amount of assistance from friends and family (both financial and in "time labor"), and we've been blessed with having people praying all over the US and the world. Pray that we can provide an example to others, and that God will use what we're going through for our growth and for his kingdom's glory.

"The universalist Bible"

1 Timothy 5:8 "Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever."

Is there "anyone" on Earth to whom this does not apply?

Although looking up the word I now see it has inappropriate Christian theological meanings for what I was saying:

"a person who believes that all humankind will eventually be saved.

"a person advocating loyalty to and concern for others without regard to national or other allegiances."

However Oxford Dictionaries/Bing does include what I meant, not in a theological context:

"universal in scope or character."

What's a correct word in Christian theology?

The correct theological word is "catholic", as in "unam sanctam catholicam et apostolicam ecclesiam". This also carries a bit of baggage.

Blogger wreckage November 09, 2019 9:37 AM

@166; I think you're incorrect to describe the Bible as universalist, even to the extent you don't mean "Universalist". As I pointed out, the command to care for kin makes a thoroughgoing universal ethic impossible, since it posits that a failure to care for family - unequally - is an offense beyond damnation. Damnation being again, a non-universal fate. HOWEVER; if my understanding of the word has severely coloured my reading of your point, then I am happy to accept correction.

Blogger Kentucky Packrat November 09, 2019 12:43 PM

BTW, talk about whipsawing... They did an MRI of Milady's back, and the lesion that they were sure was there doesn't actually exist. No lesion, no bone involvement.

She is still Stage 4 and it's aggressive, but there's no signs of new spots (the liver spot was definitely there in April), and they are hopeful that the radiation will knock the pancreas tumor down and then we'll do more chemo. They also did a nerve block that is working pretty well.

It would have been tempting to just give in and do palliative care for Milady, rather than try chemo on a "lost cause". If we had done that, she would probably be dead by now, and we wouldn't have reached people through this issue. Instead, we're fighting and getting options, and have months or years ahead of us.

I had little tolerance for people unwilling to fight before, and I have less now. We Christians are told it's a struggle, and that often we win by losing. Being afraid to fight and afraid to lose is anti-Christ.
