The hive mind doesn't see individuals

The Z-Man explains why even someone who is just selling innocuous t-shirts is targeted by the SJW-converged corporations:
The first heavy handed moderation happened on the left-wing sites like Daily Kos, which was popular in the Bush years. Anything that deviated from official dogma was removed and the poster was banned. That was their space and you dirty right-wing extremists had no right to enter their space with your filthy racist ideas.

This sense of ownership and entitlement took over the big social media platforms like Facebook, YouTube and Twitter. The same sorts of screeching harpies behind the “resist” campaign are policing social media for heretics. Those are their platform and they determine the community standards. The use of the word “community” is a big clue as to how these people think of these sites. They are not public platforms, but communities in the same way your town is a community.

It is this hive minded view of politics that is behind the fanatical purging of heretics and blasphemers from social media. The people behind it have conflated these platforms with their own sense of themselves. Just as Trump penetrating Washington is seen as the most egregious personal violation, bad thinkers on YouTube are imagined to be spiritual rapists, victimizing the community with their bad ideas. Purging these monsters from the community is now a sacred duty.

This is why there is no reasoning with these people over things like terms of service or the particulars of impeachment. It would be like trying to talk a female grizzly out of defending her cubs. Her instinct to defend is not a rational reaction. It is not the end point of a decision tree. That’s the same thing going on with the impeachment stuff, the subversion, the purging on-line, all of it. This is the reaction of an organism to what it sees as a threat to its integrity. This is how The Hive defends itself.

It is why any analysis of the Left in isolation tends to miss the point. Everything these people do has to be examined within the larger context of the hive mind. The blue-haired lesbian at Google issuing strikes to your channel is not a person, but a node within the larger network of the hive mind. These are people who have no agency, because what defines them is their relations with the other nodes in the Progressive hive mind. When you deal with one, you are dealing with all of them.
One cannot reason with the unreasoning or compromise with the uncompromising. They don't see us as individuals and measure each case by its merits, they simply attack any violator of their demonic Narrative who they believe to be vulnerable.

And this is precisely why when they come after one of us, they need to be met with a response from all of us. WWG1WGA!

Yes, all along we've seen that it's a secular religious cult. At its core are idealistic fantasies, coupled with a twisted sense of morality. The cult member's identity is tangled up with the cult, the morality, the fantasies. Do we now understand the enemy? If so, we should be able to fight her effectively. But the only way to fight one religion is with another religion. If we can't purge Christianity of its leftist elements and arrive at some militant form, I'd say we don't have a snowball's chance of beating the left.

You are completely missing the point.

The point of this article is how the Hivemind works.

I was banned by Jimrpb himself for questioning the Oklahoma City bombing narrative. FR banned patriots and anybody who didn't go with the then mainstream pre-911 "conservative" line, which from this vantage point was like a soft innocent neoconservatism, Fox news Hannity & Colmes like. I think we call people still on that line of thinking "Boomercons" now.
I even recall am article from around 2012, maybe it was some libertarian, regarding the then apparently growing- though evidence goes back decades - of the SJW scourge. It called out how the always offended crowd screeches in a manner similar to the "let's ban rock music" offended church lady crowd of the 1980s. PMRC and all that. A famous name involved with that was Tipper Gore. Wait, what was the wife of a Democrat doing with that stuffed shirt movement?
One point that stuck with me though, was the possibility of the SJWs of the campuses were the ones who, from youth, plopped in front of the TV then, caught a lot of early post-911 neocon claptrap of "you are either with us or against us" and even worse "if you are not for attacking Iraq then you must be an anti Semite". It's that entire mechanism of " if you don't think a certain way you are therefore some kind of evil thing".
Now we have it on steroids.
This is why I'm convinced that the entire globosatan globohomo poz Apocalypse is one big fat neocon operation with truckloads of (((()))) from The Bush, Clinton, and Gore families to the Ben Shipirus to the leftist media and academics and all the way down to their brainwashed minions of hateful muds, angry gays, and trigglypuffs. One. Big. Neocon. Op. And it tries to pretend to be the counter to globosatan.
I'm impressed though. For a hivemind, they act like cancer cells individually. As soon as they get into any organization they get to "work" as if the instructions are already in the DNA/RNA strands. This is why it's remarkable to catch them doing things like what gaming journalists were caught doing in email chains. The obese bluehair who pulls the lever does not get an actual message from some back room somewhere that we might find later.

actually, they are communities in PRECISELY the way in which your town is NOT permitted to be a community.

try eliminating drag queens from your public library story hours ( discrimination on sexuality ) or driving out Black men from your community every evening or banning menorahs or stars and crescents from your holiday displays and see what it gets you.

but banning people for being too White, hetero or male? just hunky dory.

As I have said since the second Obama term, America is the Jim Jones cult writ large. And I said it won't be essayed to death by any intellectual or group of smart boy conservatives.

Someone will goof and basically say to the residents in the American economic union, "Anyone want off the crazy train?" Trump is trending towards that "goof" but he is still trying to reason with the cult, but he cannot keep up with it and odds are before the election he "goofs" up like that congressman did at the gates of Jonestown and that will be it.

Joe Sobran was on to this years ago with his essay "The Hive". He saw it coming, and it dovetails with CS's comment above about the neocons. He was purged from the cool neocon bowtie crowd quite early for being a heretic.

Spandrell's essay on "Bioleninism" fits well here too. The premise is we all crave status, and the only place the Blue Haired Barrel Shaped Lesbian can get status is being part of the Hive. In a real society she (it?) is at the bottom. The Hive grants her a high level of status, which she craves, and the avalanche of these people online is the digital Hive with which we deal daily. Remember in antediluvian times before the internet, 1991 or so, the Hive Member was invisible to normal people.

Anyway, both essays are thoughtful. As VD spoke about in in a recent Darkstream, it's important to not only know ourselves, but know who our enemy is. These can help.

Some of the Leftist Democrat candidates for president have talked about the need to build BRIDGES. That is the last thing we need in this country. The only purpose for bridges is to cross to the other side and the Leftists have no intention of doing that, so the bridges they have in mind are nothing more than invitations to surrender.

WE do not need bridges. What we need is good fences, because good fences make for good neighbors. And when good fences are not good enough, we need walls. The higher the better. No matter who pays for them, they work both ways...equally.

If that is not enough, the fence, the wall, needs to be a border. That is what confines and protects people from each other. That is what makes it possible for people who deeply hate each other to live within sight of each other. Do the Leftists really want to Co-exist? OK...start with a border. You work your side of the street and I will work mine. Otherwise, it becomes a matter of survival, either they will or we will.

So-called Conservatives were pretty heavy into banning from their platforms in the Bush years, that's true.
Only the oldies will remember the heavy handed bannings that occurred on Charles Johnson's site, Little Green Footballs. In 2004,there were sites that just listed who got banned from their daily.
Considering that site was mammoth at that time, larger than Kos and Free Republic, I'd say that was the 1st most heavy handed event I remember.
Funny thing about that, CJ had always been.a leftie, but 9/11 made him decide to be a Neocon for a few yrs. This didn't last long, however, and he quickly returned to rapid leftism.
Large blogs *were* the FB & Twitter of the day, get banned from FR or LGF, and you were forced onto random smaller blogs that were the Gab, Telegraph equivalents. You could still post your points, but your new community was decidedly much, much smaller.

"Is there any significance to a software project having its own CoC as opposed to copying/modifying the tranny one ("Geek Feminism CoC")? I don't think so but this is the first time I've seen one in tech that wasn't based on that monstrosity."

The "tranny one" is the Contributor's Covenant, https://www.contributor-covenant.org/ and seems to be the one most organizations are adopting. The Geek Feminism CoC was adopted, perhaps with some modifications, by FreeBSD, and looked to me to be much worse, but I've not read either closely.

A number of organizations draft saner ones, but anything that strays too far from the hive mind like the Rule of Saint Benedict https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rule_of_Saint_Benedict that SQLite tried gets violently rejected. Some projects care about that, some don't and for example use the No Code of Conduct, https://nocodeofconduct.com/, it's a wild mess. If the people who imposed the code of conduct openly discussed it, that's probably the first place to start.

I would imagine some projects adopted the Contributors Covenant just to try to make the problem go away, and handle problems the way they previously did. Other organizations like Joyent have used them to kneecap competitors, not caring about the damage this does to the project.

Blogger Nathan Hornok December 07, 2019 1:37 PM

While I understand the rhetorical reason for calling the "Convergers" a "hive mind." I don't think it's the most accurate way of describing what is going on. I think seeing it as religious devotion is much more accurate. The culture war is a war over religion, plain and simple. We have our religion (which happens to be in line with God's truth) and they have theirs (which is parmethean humanism/satanism). Pretending like anyone believes, or should believe in absolute free speech misses the point. It's not whether someone should be forced to let others listen to alternative views, and it's not about some NAP fantasy that there should never be consequences against someone because of what they say. It is about understanding the differing tenants of the opposing religions and why certain speech is considered worthy of the ban hammer, given the censoring person's religious beliefs.

Owen and Vox will rightfully expel people from their channels for any number of reasons. Likewise, the Convergers control their platforms, they see it as their territory, and feel the need to expel who they see as heretics from their territory. The Convergers ban for hate-speech because it violates one of the tenants of their religion, aka equality. Owen and Vox ban for what could be termed envy-speech, aka gamma trolls, because it goes against God's injunction against envy. In any question regarding free-speech, it's pointless to argue against censorship because everyone can be shown to be a hypocrite. It's more truthful to understand what fundamental believes are determining what is or isn't censored and arguing against those fundamental beliefs.

This is not to say that we have no right to fight for territory on these platforms. We are in a war, fighting for territory is the whole point.

Free Republic was actually a fun site way back when. There used to actually be many intelligent and thoughtful posters. I probably had about 10 names that I logged in every day and searched to see what they had to say. Jees, I have been there longer than I'd like to say. I was in my early 20s when I first made an account.

I still pop in everyday but I literally have one poster who's name I search on anymore. It's a shadow of it's former self for sure. Mostly I like to scare the boomers for what's coming down the road.

Somebody mentions LGF. That was the most bizarre "Conservative" Site on the web. Johnson wasn't a conservative, he was Leftist who got scared by 911 and supported the War on Terror. Later around 2006, he stopped doing that and literally had to publicly start calling Conservatives "Nazis" and "fascists" before the lonely-heart Rightists stopped linking to him or commenting on his site.

Bingo. As I have said, I spent a seven-year sabbatical as an agnostic left-libertarian, only to re-discover that Jesus is real and there is no such thing as a leftism that allows individual freedom.

It was a journey of lies. And I did not enjoy it very much because the only comfort is that of conformity, and I am not very good at that.

Blogger Jack Amok December 07, 2019 7:19 PM

Well, let's see if we can salvage something from Breckmac's spectacular flameout. Some further observations on Alpha vs Gamma.

An Alpha understands The Hierarchy, and while an Alpha may challenge people wielding power within The Hierarchy, he'd never challenge the existence of The Hierarchy itself. Why on Earth would he? The Hierarchy is the Alpha's friend, he uses it to wield influence. He might have to wrest it away from someone else, but it doesn't deny the need for it.

The Gamma neither understands nor likes The Hierarchy. It baffles him how power flows through it, his efforts to use it are never successful, and so his natural instinct is to seek it's abandonment, to deny any justification for it in the first place (and can usually be counted on to rattle off a litany of grievances against other Hierarchy's in the process).

Blogger Max December 07, 2019 8:03 PM

The key to understanding vast conspiracies, like the one being enacted to squash online dissent, is that very few of the participants need to consciously partake in it. Once signals come from the top of the hierarchy they fall into line naturally and then rationalize the behavior. Only a few have to see the larger picture and that is how conspiracies compartmentalize and defend themselves.

It is depressing, but also gives me hope that people are not all evil even if they are enabling evil.

Blogger Max December 07, 2019 8:05 PM
