Creepy Joe is the frontrunner

I really, really want to see a Creepy Joe and Buttplug ticket offered up as the last hurrah of the white men in the Democratic Party:
Joe Biden holds a 30-point lead over Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) in the Democratic presidential field, according to a Harvard CAPS/Harris Poll survey released exclusively to The Hill, further signaling that the former vice president is cementing his place as the primary contest’s front-runner.

Forty-four percent of Democratic voters surveyed said they are most likely to vote for Biden in the 2020 Democratic primaries. Sanders comes in second place at 14 percent, while Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) places third with just 9 percent, the poll found.

The survey results show a surge for Biden since he launched his presidential campaign last week. A Harvard CAPS/Harris Poll survey from March pegged his support in the primary field at 35 percent, though at the time he hadn’t yet entered the race. The poll results are largely in line with other surveys conducted in recent days that show Biden widening his lead in the sprawling Democratic primary field.
It doesn't matter anyhow. The Trumpslide is inevitable in 2020, as I have said since the day after the 2016 U.S. Presidential election.

No, the POLITICIANS have to learn

It's astonishing how so many Members of the British Parliament simply refuse to understand that they are not in charge and they are going to be replaced because they're a collection of traitorous, anti-democratic Remainers even after the very clear warning of the local council elections:
Theresa May has led the Conservative Party to a humiliating 1,300-seat loss in local elections - its worst performance in a quarter of a century - after furious voters punished her and the party for its Brexit failures at the ballot box.

The party's drubbing meant it has surpassed its worst case predictions to put in its worst performance since John Major led it to a loss of more than 2,000 seats when faced by Tony Blair's Labour in 1994.

Votes took place in 248 English councils and 11 Northern Ireland authorities amid a backdrop of Brexit anger. The Tories held on to 93 councils, while Labour now have control of 60; the Lib Dems have 18, and the number of councils with no overall control or other parties in charge rose to 77 - an increase of 43.

The Conservative Party now hold 3,559 seats - a loss of 1,335 - followed by Labour on 2,020, and the Liberal Democrats won an additional 704 seats, giving them 1,351..... Returning officers reported that at least 39,000 ballot papers were spoiled. Angry voters had scrawled messages on them about Brexit in protest at the parliamentary shambles.
Needless to say, instead of indicating that they understand that the British public is demanding No Deal Brexit, they are trying to do the redefinition dance. Just read how these Conservative Party morons are reacting to their near-historic beating that exceeded their worst-case scenario.

Michael Gove: 'At the moment the arithmetic in the House of Commons is opposed to leaving without a deal,' he said.  'There would be economic challenges. We could get through them but they would undoubtedly be there in the short term.' Mr Gove added that leaving without a deal would 'undermine the Union' and that the best way of 'bringing the country together is to leave with a good deal'.

There is no good deal. And no one cares about "the arithmetic in the House of Commons" except the idiotic Members of Parliament who are going to be voted out at the next opportunity.

Theresa May: 'There was a simple message from yesterday's elections to both us and the Labour Party: just get on and deliver Brexit,' Mrs May said.

So why is she still babbling about her stupid, thrice-rejected Withdrawal Plan? Why is she still rambling on about deals that will never happen? Whatever happened to "no deal is better than a bad deal?"

Former Tory MP Nick Boles said a compromise was now the only way to leave the EU. He added: ‘Conservative MPs will be toast if they do not deliver Brexit soon. But I and a majority of MPs will never allow the UK to leave the EU without a deal. So Conservative MPs who want to survive the next election need to vote for a compromise deal with Labour.’

That's why he's already a "former Tory MP". After the next election, he'll just be a "former MP" along with any other Conservative MPs who vote for a compromise deal with Labour.

The fact is that Nationalism vs Foreign Imperialism is the only issue that matters today. Left vs Right, Labour vs Conservative, Conservative vs Liberal, all of these past divisions are totally irrelevant because if you are all ruled by a foreign, anti-democratic imperial master, it makes no difference what your local politics are. Which is precisely over 1,300 Conservative councillors learned yesterday.

Politicians love to talk piously about "bringing the country together" but if they actually cared about national unity, they wouldn't have permitted a massive foreign invasion of the country or its demographic destruction in the first place.

Bookies wonder where the fake baby is

Curiouser and curious. A British oddsmaker has stopped taking odds on the birth of the Sussex child:
A major betting company in Britain has stopped taking bets on when Prince Harry and his wife Meghan's baby will be born, believing on Friday that it has already secretly arrived.

Paddy Power said it had suspended bets on when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's first-born would enter the world following a spike in wagers. Queen Elizabeth II's eighth great-grandchild will be seventh in line to the throne. When the pregnancy was announced, commentators believed the baby was due in late April.

"We've suspended betting on which day Harry and Meghan's baby will arrive following a huge increase in wagers... which indicate to us that someone knows something," said Paddy Power.

"That, combined with the rumours and speculation, has us convinced that the royal arrival has already happened."

However, other bookmakers have not followed suit.

"We don't think they have had a baby," said William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams. "A huge number of people would be involved in the birth. I think it would be difficult to keep it that secret."
Did the surrogate decide to keep the child?

Christian genocide

If you think the prospects for persecution isn't invading Christendom along with all the various non-Christians, you simply aren't paying attention:
The persecution of Christians in parts of the world is at near "genocide" levels, according to a report ordered by Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt. The review, led by the Bishop of Truro the Right Reverend Philip Mounstephen, estimated that one in three people suffer from religious persecution.

Christians were the most persecuted religious group, it found.

Mr Hunt said he felt that "political correctness" had played a part in the issue not being confronted. The interim report said the main impact of "genocidal acts against Christians is exodus" and that Christianity faced being "wiped out" from parts of the Middle East.

It warned the religion "is at risk of disappearing" in some parts of the world, pointing to figures which claimed Christians in Palestine represent less than 1.5% of the population, while in Iraq they had fallen from 1.5 million before 2003 to less than 120,000.

"Evidence shows not only the geographic spread of anti-Christian persecution, but also its increasing severity," the Bishop wrote. "In some regions, the level and nature of persecution is arguably coming close to meeting the international definition of genocide, according to that adopted by the UN."
Now, what happened in 2003? The neocons convinced President Bush to wage war on Iraq.

Attacking American history

Once America's Christian heritage was replaced by "Judeo-Christian heritage", once the immigrant propaganda about "melting pots" and "huddled masses" and "a nation of immigrants" was accepted, it was only a matter of time before the successionist Replacement Americans began demanding the removal of every trace of America's founders. Now the target is the much-hated Thomas Jefferson, who was objectively far more racist than Robert E. Lee ever was and whose words remind the successionists that they are not, and never will be, Americans.
Students at Hofstra University protested a statue of Thomas Jefferson on Friday at the second annual event, titled “Jefferson Has Gotta Go!”

The statue has been the center of controversy on the campus and has been defaced with “DECOLONIZE” and “Black Lives Matter” signs and stickers. According to a media advisory sent by the Jefferson Has Gotta Go (JGG) campaign, the protest was held at Hofstra Breslin Hall. Organizers included “students of Hofstra University, staff from Planned Parenthood of Nassau County, and supporters of Hempstead community.”

The group gathered on campus to “expose the culture of bias and discrimination,” as stated in the media advisory, and to demand “the statue of Thomas Jefferson is removed.”

Hofstra College Democrats “want the statue to be removed and [we] stand with the Jefferson Has Gotta Go Campaign,” the group's president, Brynne Levine, told Campus Reform.

Former College Democrats executive board member Miranda Pino also professed her support. "JGG isn’t just about a statue," she told Campus Reform. "Yes, the removal of the statue is important, but it is about what the statue represents: a legacy of racism and bigotry on college campuses."
The moment you compromise the truth in order to assuage some minority's feelings, you have abandoned everything. There is literally no defense for the conservative anti-racists, the cuckservatives, or the civic nationalists who proudly claim to not see color. They abandoned the truth and they abandoned history the moment that they compromised themselves in the name of equality.

Don't accept advertising

The obvious attack vector it presents is why it is important for every media and technological organization that is to the right of center to reject every business model that is dependent upon advertising.
Poynter is funded by Open Society Foundations, liberal billionaire George Soros’ massive foundations, as well as the Omidyar Network. The two combined for “$1.3 million in grant funding.” Funds were sent to Poynter specifically to establish the International Fact-Checking Network. The ‘UnNews’ list was started to help fact-checking organizations determine what was “unreliable.”

That anti-conservative mindset was apparent throughout the incoherent and inconsistent report. Conservative organizations were included throughout but liberal groups rarely were. The National Review and Heritage were removed from the list but Heritage’s Daily Signal was on it. That combined to create a shameless double-standard. It specifically targeted conservative media watchdog groups and didn’t include liberal ones.

The goal of the report is clear. Poynter is recommending that advertisers “who want to stop funding misinformation” should use its list. It stated that while marketers can create their own “blacklists,” those lists might be incomplete. Golding wrote that, “Advertisers don’t want to support publishers that might tar their brand with hate speech, falsehoods or some kinds of political messaging.”

Poynter has a longstanding history as an anchor in the journalism business. Its board of trustees includes  execs from The New York Times, ESPN, Harvard, Vox, CBS, ABC, and The Washington Post. Poynter is currently working with Facebook and Google for its fact-checking programs.
I have gotten offers to advertise this or that for years. I experimented once with an ad service, but quickly determined that the benefits were not worth the costs. This is why we are very unlikely to accept ads for Unauthorized at any point in the future; relying directly upon our viewers and supporters is much more reliable than trying to play the delicate game of hoping that the companies advertising won't be converged or inclined to crumble under SJW pressure.

What I find mildly amusing about the whole thing is that the corporate left is so stupid and unable to foresee consequences that they don't understand how their actions are multiplying the negative effects of advancing technology on the core advertising model that sustained media businesses for more than a century. If you consider that even Google, the dominant force in online advertising, is now seeing its market cap decline because it is methodically chasing away both its content creators and the rightward half of its user base, it should be obvious that all the lesser corporations dependent upon it are suffering even more.

Milo, Alex Jones, PJW banned by Facebook

Facebook's most recent banning binge is a little ironic in light of how they wouldn't let me delete my account, so I had to settle for deactivating it last year.
Facebook announced Thursday afternoon that it had designated some high-profile people, including Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, who's notorious for using anti-Semitic language, and right-wing conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, as "dangerous" and said it will be purging them from its platforms.

Jones and his media outlet InfoWars had previously been banned from Facebook (FB) in in August 2018, but had maintained a presence on Instagram, which is owned by Facebook. On Thursday, Jones and InfoWars will be barred from Instagram as well.

Other people banned Thursday include fringe right-wing media personalities Laura Loomer, Milo Yiannopoulos and Paul Joseph Watson. Also included are Paul Nehlen, an anti-Semite who unsuccessfully ran for Congress in 2016 and 2018.

"We've always banned individuals or organizations that promote or engage in violence and hate, regardless of ideology," a Facebook spokesperson said in a statement provided to CNN Business. "The process for evaluating potential violators is extensive and it is what led us to our decision to remove these accounts today."
Build your own platform. That is the only solution. And, of course, make the rubble bounce.

AI is racist

But then, we knew that AI was naturally inclined to racism when Tay became self-aware and promptly joined the Nationalist Right:
Artificial Intelligence is rapidly becoming the Artificial Id, revealing through coded algorithms what we humans really think about taboo topics.

Why does AI think Michael Obama and Scrotal Williams are men?

Oh I dunno, it could be the hulking physiques.

The ripped musculature.

The overhanging brow.

The prognathism.

The shadowed canvas.

AI, like humans, is racist, which just means it notices things and isn’t polite enough to keep those thoughts to itself.
Reality wins.

Where is the fake baby?

This Sussex Sparkles thing has turned out to be more interesting than Suits ever was:
torontopaper @torontopaper1
Darling, actions speak louder than words. A more united family than ever is exposing your lies. Your house of cards is collapsing. You will get the Tower instead of the paycheck!

torontopaper @torontopaper1
Darling, very telling that you are using your old US cellphone number again lately. By the way the 9 months are over already. Are you expecting an elephant or still looking for a way out where no way out is?

torontopaper @torontopaper1
9 months are over! Your husband is on his family's side! No paycheck! Your threats are making them laugh! They have more against you and you are alone! And now? Game over! Checkmate!

torontopaper @torontopaper1
Darling, so you are sitting there alone and humiliated in your house of glass with cracks everywhere. People have seen that the rumours became true. Lord Watchdog has shut you down!
Translation: Megan Markles is a complete trainwreck who faked her pregnancy by using a surrogate, but is trying to extort the British Royal Family into some sort of financial settlement before the whole scheme comes crashing down.

I have absolutely no idea what may or may not be true, but I am still astonished that the Queen permitted Prince Harry to marry the woman in the first place. My theory is that they were first married in secret in the United States and then presented the Queen with a fait accompli.

If any of this is true, it strikes me as a very, very bad idea and the very, very wrong people with whom to play this kind of game. One would tend to expect a tragic death in childbirth after delivering a stillborn child.

Seriously, though, where is the baby? And why is Prince Harry off to the Netherlands?

No sympathy for Shapiro

I wonder if the Littlest Chickenhawk is beginning to feel differently about his past calls for instigating violence and putting people in harm's way when it's he and his family who are being targeted instead of the young American men he encouraged to invade "Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Egypt, Pakistan and others" in the name of empire.
Ben Shapiro, the conservative talk show host and editor of The Daily Wire, was the target of serious death threats and the suspect has just been arrested ... TMZ has learned.

Law enforcement sources tell us, Shapiro, who frequently appears on cable news shows and has a hugely popular podcast, filed a police report with the LAPD. We're told the threats were not just against Shapiro but his family as well. He's married with one daughter.

We're told the Department got in touch with the FBI and created a joint task force to hunt down the culprit. Our sources say a man was arrested Wednesday in Washington state for making the threats. We're told these threats were "extremely serious" ... not just someone blowing off steam.
I have zero sympathy for Ben Shapiro. None whatsoever. He's a libelous and shameless liar who despises America and Americans, hates Jesus Christ, and is actively attempting to subvert history and redefine Western civilization out of existence in the same way his predecessors self-servingly redefined both America and its Christian heritage.

It's very easy to call for war and violence when you think you're untouchable. But no one is untouchable except the dead.

As for death threats, BFD. I've been getting them for 18 years. As the moderators know, I'm still getting them in the comments from time to time; the last set was just two weeks ago.

Cyberwar 2020

Russia is following China's lead in setting up its own Internet free of US control:
President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday signed into law a "sovereign internet" bill which will allow Russian authorities to isolate the country's internet, a move decried by rights groups.

Russian lawmakers insist the new law is necessary to ensure the security of Russia's online networks but critics say the vaguely worded bill gives new censorship powers to government monitors.

The text of the law was published Wednesday but it will not come into effect until November.

The measures include creating technology to monitor internet routing and to steer Russian internet traffic away from foreign servers, ostensibly to prevent a foreign country from shutting it down.

The authors of the initiative say Russia must ensure the security of its networks after US President Donald Trump unveiled a new American cybersecurity strategy last year that said Russia had carried out cyber attacks with impunity.
On a not-entirely unrelated note, I expect the foreign alternatives to rapidly sweep away the US tech giants due to the latter's abuse of their customers.

So much for invading Venezuela

To be clear, I don't believe that the Russians have put nukes in Venezuela. They don't need to:
RUSSIA has secretly installed nuclear missiles in Venezuela a US politician has sensationally claimed in a chilling echo of the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Republican congressman Mario Diaz-Balart said he believes Vladimir Putin's hidden nukes are now a direct threat to the "national security" of the United States. He made his astonishing allegations hours after Venezuela was pushed to the brink of civil war when opposition leader Juan Guaido called for rival Nicolas Maduro to be ousted from office.

Diaz-Balart told Fox News if Maduro stays in power it could be "an open door for the Russians and for the Chinese and for others to increase their activity against our national security interest."

Journalist Tucker Carlson then asked: "Are you suggesting they are going to invade?”

“The closest we ever came to nuclear war was because the Russians put missiles, right, nuclear missiles in Cuba,” replied Diaz-Balart.

“Are you saying the Russians will put nuclear missiles in Venezuela?” Carlson asked.

“What I am suggesting is that they are already there,” answered Diaz-Balart, without offering any evidence to back up his claim.
But if there are already nukes in Venezuela, then that will bring a speedy end to all of Pompeo's idiotic posturing. And given the way in which US missiles have gradually crept eastward since the fall of the Soviet Union, the US doesn't have any ground for complaint if any nation in the Western Hemisphere decides it wants to take up a Russian or Chinese offer to install a few nuclear missiles as insurance against ill-considered US imperialism.

Brother Esau

The Orthosphere delves into the intrinsic falsity of the "Judeo-Christian" meme that is being used to attack everything from American history to Western Civilization and Christianity itself:
The notion that Western civilization rests on a Judeo-Christian basis is very largely an invention of the 1940s, when Jews felt a sudden and unprecedented desire to join the Western club and lock arms with their Christian “brothers.” Although a palpable oxymoron, the phrase prospered in the years that followed, and is now well established as one of the hardier weeds in the unlovely garden of American political cant.

Obviously, there can be no such thing as Judeo-Christian values when Jews specifically reject the highest Christian value, which is Christ.

We might go so far as to call Judeo-Christian values a canard, and say that this canard serves mainly to de-divinize Christ, and thus dissolve Christianity into a purely ethical system. Curiously, the solvent power of this canard is somehow neutralized when it comes to doctrines that are distinctly Jewish. I would add that the canard also serves to reconcile Christians to the fact that they nowadays receive so much of their moral, political and theological instruction from strongly self-identified Jews.  Curiously, the respect that Jews feel for the teaching authority of strongly self-identified Christians remains as low as ever.

What this suggests is that modern Judeo-Christianity is Christianity made acceptable to Jews.  It does not seem to involve reciprocal modifications to Judaism.  Indeed, the basic Judeo-Christian condominium would seem to be that Christians shall say only nice things about Jews, while Jews shall go on gifting Christians with their withering criticism.

Now that Jews and Christians are brothers, we see that the Christians are brother Esau.
There is considerably more there. Read the whole thing. To be blunt, it would be more accurate to describe "Judeo-Christianity" as "Luciferianity". There is a fundamental difference to being "in the world, but not of it" and "healing the world". It is literally the most fundamental precept of Christianity to accept that the world is fallen, is ruled by spiritual evil, and cannot be healed.

To insist otherwise is to deny the necessity for the Incarnation, the Crucifixion, and the Resurrection. Which, of course, is precisely why the Ben Shapiros and Dennis Pragers and San Francisco Chronicle's of the world are now attempting to sell this literally Satanic concept to an increasingly clueless and demoralized West.

The end of the Heisei era

The Emperor of Japan abdicates the Crysanthemum Throne:
Emperor Akihito abdicated the Japanese throne Tuesday, becoming the country's first ruler in 200 years to step down from the role. Akihito, 85, spent Tuesday morning holding traditional private ceremonies at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo in which he symbolically announced his intention to abdicate to Amaterasu, the sun goddess.

That was followed by a more formal state occasion attended where he gave a televised speech, thanking people for their support during his 30-year reign, before ending with a solemn bow.

Akihito's rule officially ends at midnight when his eldest son, Crown Prince Naruhito, will ascend to the Chrysanthemum Throne. The process will be officially recognised with a ceremony on Wednesday morning.

The move also spells the end of the Heisei imperial era and the start of the Reiwa era - meaning beautful harmony - which will last until the end of Naruhito's reign.
I was in Japan for the end of the Showa era, as well as the peak of what later came to be known, a little ironically, as the Heisei Boom. My entire time there was colored by the Showa Emperor's death watch, as every night on the news, a graphic would appear showing how much blood had been infused that day, and in total, which was more than a little comical despite the fact that it was a literal matter of life and death.

As a student of Japanese history, it's more than a little interesting to me to observe that this is the first imperial abdication in two centuries. During the Heian period, emperors used to abdicate in their thirties, in order to prevent them from challenging the power of the Shogun. Wouldn't it be fascinating if this is the first step towards a return to rule by shogun in Japan?

It's always Year Zero

SJWs never hesitate to rewrite history, even when they are celebrating it:
Minecraft creator Markus “Notch” Persson will be excluded from the game’s 10 year anniversary plans by Microsoft. Persson, who created Minecraft and sold it to Microsoft to the tune of $2.5 billion in 2014, will not be invited to the game’s 10 year anniversary according to a Microsoft spokesperson.

A Microsoft spokesperson told Variety, “His comments and opinions do not reflect those of Microsoft or Mojang and are not representative of ‘Minecraft.” The spokesperson did indicate that Persson has not been involved with the game since he sold it in 2014.

The 10 year anniversary plans are said to take place at Minecraft studio Mojang in Stockholm. The company describes the event will look at the “past, present and exciting future of the decade-old franchise.”
I'm surprised they even acknowledged that the game has been around for ten years. In another ten years, Bill Gates will have invented it, along with the Internet.

The difference between Alpha and Delta

This is a very, very important concept. Women and Gammas tend to be unaware of the distinction:
“I’m gonna give you a great quote that Ozzie Newsome said to me at the Senior Bowl,” [Oakland General Manager Mike] Mayock said. “I’ve known Ozzie forever. He congratulated me on the job. I said, ‘Do you have any advice?’ He said, ‘Mike, having an opinion is a hell of a lot easier than having to make a decision.’ I thought that was so well said back then. And then I really felt the weight of it last night.”
One of the biggest challenges facing any Bravo or Delta promoted to a leadership position is understanding that it is no longer sufficient to have an opinion. Having an opinion is easy, since there are no negative consequences associated with it even when one is completely wrong. But leadership necessarily requires making decisions... and being responsible for the consequences of those decisions.

It's always amusing to see how rapidly even the most-opinionated people retreat from their opinions when they are informed that their advice will be scrupulously followed, but they will be held responsible for the consequences.

UPDATE: a question is asked.
Who do Gammas promote? Do Gammas tend to promote other Gammas in an organization? Or is it a mix of Alphas, Betas, Deltas, etc., just as long as the Gammas get to boss them around?
Gammas promote women. It's always Gammas arguing for MOAR WOMEN in STEM, MOAR WOMEN in gaming, MOAR WOMEN in the chess club. That's because they are always desperate for more exposure to women.

Indiegogo plays science police

They were already playing thought police, but now they're branching out into policing science:
The last year has been the worst on record in the US for measles outbreaks since the disease was declared ‘eradicated’ in 2000. Even though vaccination rates across the country are still high, (according to the CDC) there remains some communities where disinformation campaigns which claim that ‘vaccines are dangerous’ (often called ‘anti-vaxx’ campaigns) have led to parents refusing to vaccinate their children. Sadly, this can lead to a deadly outbreak when members of the public are exposed to someone who has picked up the disease, often overseas. Measles is highly contagious and can be fatal, especially amongst children.

And despite President Trump telling Americans to “get their shots”, 45 has previously appeared to link vaccines and autism. Public health experts say there is no link.

At the same time, over half a million children in Britain have been left unprotected against measles in the past decade and Unicef has called for a renewed focus on immunization.

It’s with this background that some tech companies are starting to realize they may have been part of the problem.

Yesterday Crowdfunding site Indiegogo said it would no longer allow anti-vaccine fundraisers or similarly unscientific, so-called “health campaigns”, to use its platform.

The move came after $86,543 was raised for a documentary, called Vaxxed II, based on the false claim that vaccines cause autism. Although the organization behind it, The People’s Truth, will still get their cash, minus the site’s 5% fee, Indiegogo said it was now planning a new policy to keep similar anti-vaccine projects off its site, a company spokesperson told BuzzFeed News Friday.

The fundraiser did not violate IndieGoGo’s existing policies on untruthful campaigns, but Indiegogo never promoted it on its site, said a company spokesperson. Executive directors of the “documentary”, Polly Tommey and Brian Burrowes, have criticized tech companies’ ‘de-platforming’ of their film as “censorship”.

Indiegogo is the latest in a line of tech companies coming round to the idea of cutting off the oxygen of publicity and cash to such campaigns.
The unmentioned elephant in the room is the I-word. Immigration. That's the real reason for the increase in measles everywhere, along with the increase in a whole host of other diseases for which there is no vaccination.

The fact that none of these pro-vaccine activists will even mention the word serves to demonstrate that their professed concerns about measles, and their professed concerned about children's health, is entirely false.

The evil of Reason

Charles Oman writes about the spiritual aspect of the War on the Peninsula, particularly as it affected Wellington's British Army:
I think that even if the Wesleys had never lived, there would yet have been a strong reaction in favour of godly living and the open profession of Christianity, in consequence of the blasphemous antics of the French Revolution. Nothing in that movement so disgusted Englishmen (even those of them who were not much given to practical religion) as the story of the "Goddess of Reason," enthroned on the high-altar of Notre Dame, at the time when an orgy of bloodshed was making odious the flatulent talk about humanitarianism and liberty which was the staple of Revolutionary oratory. The peculiar combination of insult to Christianity, open evil living, and wholesale judicial murder, which distinguished the time of the Terror, had an effect on observers comparable to nothing else that has been seen in modern times.

Even men who had not hitherto taken their religion very seriously, began to think that a hell was logically necessary in the scheme of creation for beings like Chaumette or Hebert, Fouquier Tinville or Carrier of the Noyades. And, we may add, a personal devil was surely required, to account for the promptings of insane wickedness which led to the actions of such people. A tightening up of religious observances, such as the use of family prayer and regular attendance at Church, was a marked feature of the time. It required some time for the movement to spread, but its effect was soon observable. It naturally took shape in adhesion to Evangelical societies within the Church of England, or Methodist societies without it; since these were the already existing nuclei round which those whose souls had been stirred by the horrors in France and the imminent peril of Great Britain would group themselves.

Very soon the day was over in which "enthusiasm" was the dread of all normal easy-going men. Something more than the eighteenth century religious sentimentalism, and vague spiritual philosophy, was needed for a nation which had to fight for life and empire against the French Republic and all its works. Those methods of thought were sufficiently discredited by the fact that there was a touch of Rousseau in them : it was easy to look over the Channel, and see to what a belief in some nebulous Supreme Being, and in the perfectibility and essential righteousness of mankind at large, might lead. The God of the Old Testament was a much more satisfactory object of worship to the men who had to face the Jacobin, and Calvinism has always proved a good fighting creed. If ever there was a justification for a belief that the enemy were in a condition of complete reprobation, and that to smite them was the duty of every Christian man, it was surely at this time. The conviction of the universahty of sin and the natural wickedness of the human heart was the exact opposite and antidote to the optimistic philosophy of the eighteenth century, and to its belief that man is essentially a benevolent being, and that if he sometimes breaks out into deplorable violence "tout comprendre est tout pardonner.''
We've reached the point that the men of the West are beginning to grasp the limits of reason again. But they have not yet really begun to realize the ease with which it is naturally turned to evil in the absence of Jesus Christ.

There will be war

As it happens, the German ultra-nationalists are correct. As various military officers have been predicting for years, there will be war in Europe due to the mass invasion of the continent, although the eventual demise of the reunified German state is far from certain:
German ultra-nationalists believe a civil war and an eventual demise of the state will come about, and are preparing for it by training to use firearms and explosives, a local security service has warned. Germany’s domestic intelligence agency, the BfV, sounded the alarm over the rise of the underground far-right, according to Die Welt. An intelligence report seen by the paper calls for increased surveillance of so-called “preppers” – a loose network of ultra-nationalists who prepare for apocalyptic scenarios.

Those people are collecting firearms and other supplies in preparation for “a civil war” or “a feared collapse of public order” in Germany, the BfV revealed. The preppers movement, which first emerged in the US, has long been rooted in survivalism – which sees far-right militias making stockpiles of food, ammunition and medicine that they would use in the event of a doomsday scenario.
Of course, there will also be war everywhere from America to Sri Lanka as well, because war always, Always, ALWAYS follows on the heels of the mass movement of peoples. It's a little ironic that the BfV is warning about the rise of the "underground far-right" when that is nothing more than a symptom caused by the importation of millions of foreigners against the wishes of the native population.

For the present, it would be going too far to say that the refugees, as well as those who are responsible for their plight back in their homelands, are actively waging war against the West. They lack the leadership and organization required for the effective, large-scale violence that war entails. However, it must be recognized that more than a few in their midst are not averse to using violence in order to achieve their aims. They have, after all, invaded numerous countries without regard for the will of the people of those countries, and their presence is no less likely to spark resistance than the armed invasions of the past. Since war, as Clausewitz teaches, has a built-in tendency to escalate, the resistance can be expected to graduate into all-out armed conflict over time. Especially, as seems likely, if the influx continues and all the valiant efforts at integration prove futile.

Spin, spin, and more spin

It's interesting to see that the media covering the Jawbreakers case are engaging in precisely the same sort of definitional spin that we are seeing on a regular basis in our current legal dispute:

Antarctic Publisher States Under Oath That Mark Waid Didn’t Prevent Them from Publishing Jawbreakers

So what? As Richard Meyer's lawyer has correctly pointed out, the name of the tort is "tortious interference" not "tortious prevention". Waid was not involved in the relationship, so obviously he had no ability to "prevent" Antarctic from publishing anything.

The basic elements of a tortious interference claim are as follows:
  • A valid contract or economic expectancy between the plaintiff and a third person;
  • Knowledge of the contract or expectancy by the defendant;
  • Intent by the defendant to interfere with the contract or expectancy;
  • Actual interference;
    • The interference is improper; and
    • The plaintiff suffers damage.
The sworn testimony that the defendant did not prevent the third person from fulfilling the contract or economic expectancy obviously does not mean that he did not interfere with it. Now, it would certainly be more helpful to Meyer's case if Antarctic was willing to swear that being contacted by Waid played a role in their decision, but not proving Meyer's case is not tantamount to bolstering Waid's defense. Only binary thinkers could fail to grasp that distinction.

As far as I can tell, the only fact yet to be determined, and upon which the Meyer v. Waid case revolves, is if telephoning someone and telling them to break a contract with someone else with which you are not involved in any way is improper interference or not. And I simply don't know if that is the case in Texas or not.

Speaking of legal disputes, an email will be going has gone out to Alt-Hero and original Alt-Hero:Q backers later today. If you fit the specified bill with ease and without any exaggeration, please respond to it as this information will be very helpful to us. If you receive a separate, similar email from someone else, please be sure to respond to both of them.

Things are heating up considerably on that front, so there could be some fireworks soon. I look forward to being able to tell you all about it, but that may take a while as there is the possibility of at least one element of the dispute stretching into the fall of 2020.
