The third segment of the AIN are Conservatives who, in another media era, may have started conservative talk radio shows or hosted a show on Fox News.  These include Steven Crowder, famous for setting up booths at college campuses challenging people to "change his mind" about a conservative/pro-Trump belief;  Ben Shapiro,  a former Breitbart reporter known for criticizing the left for their use of "feelings over facts";and Dennis Prager, host of "PragerU," a channel that expresses conservative viewpoints with an educational motif.  Like the Skeptics, they often lampoon the use of identity politics  and  de-platforming  by  mainstream  progressive  social  movements,  but  unlike skeptics, they also disagree with mainstream liberals in principle.  They tend to have more traditional pro-market and socially conservative beliefs.  They are different from further-right segments of the AIN, however, in that they explicitly oppose anti-semitism and open appeals to race.

The fourth and fifth groups are the Alt-Lite and Alt-Right, which are often conflatedwith  one  another.   However,  there  are  key  distinctions  in  how  they  appeal  to  their audiences.  The Alt-Lite is a mixed bag ideologically.  Some, like Paul Joseph Watson,an InfoWars affiliate, argue for mainstream conservatism. Others, like Stefan Molyneux and  Lauren  Southern,  espouse  more  explicitly  white  nationalist  messages.   However,they all enjoy antagonizing and upsetting ("triggering") liberals and leftists, and use racist and otherwise offensive humor as a means to transgress what they describe as authoritarian  boundaries  set  by  the  left-of-center.   The  Alt-Lite  is  also  strongly  pro-Trump.

In  contrast,  the  Alt-Right  is  wa rmly  committed  to  a  far-right  ideology.   Common features include strong anti-semitism and the belief that white people are are genetically superior (\race realism").  They advocate for an all-white ethnostate and an end to all(or at the very least, all non-white) immigration.  Well-known YouTubers in the Alt-Right include Richard Spencer, coiner of the term;  Red Ice TV, an alien conspiracy-turned-Alt-Right  talk  show;  and  Jean-Francois  Gariepy,  a  former  neuroscientist  who is virulently anti-feminist and uses his scienti c background to increase the perceived credibility  of  race  realism.   Unlike  the  Alt-Lite,  these  YouTubers  are  not  concerned with transgressing perceived social boundaries set by mainstream progressives, and do not disagree in principle with identity politics or deplatforming.  They argue instead that mainstream progressives are bolstering the wrong identities and deplatforming the wrong people. They also tend not to support Trump, believing he has been compromised by an international Jewish conspiracy due to Trump's pro-Israel sentiment and closeness to his Jewish son-in-law, Jared Kushner.

It's certainly a fascinating methodology. The idea appears to be that because of the false alternative offered by a few neoclowns on YouTube, the viewership of other Fake Right YouTube channels, half of which have been disappeared, has declined.

Then again, proving that the Intellectual Dark Web is not "a gateway drug" to the Nationalist American Right, but instead act in a gatekeeping capacity against it, is akin to proving that water is wet. It doesn't really matter how you try to "prove" it because the conclusion is always going to be correct.

Never trust the experts

It's always amusing when midwits attempt to question their intellectual superiors:

The past few posts leave me wondering "where else do Vox and many of his fans entertain absurdly contrarian opinions on topics they demonstrably know next to nothing about?"

If this loser had any idea how much success I have had over the years by flat-out ignoring the advice and the opinions of the subject-matter experts who know vastly more about their subjects than I do, he simply would not believe it. In fact, two of my three biggest failures were the direct result of being overruled by people who knew considerably more and refused to listen to me.

Mere information very seldom overrules genuine intelligence. Remember, nearly all the economic experts will tell you that free trade is good for America and it wasn't all that long ago when all the nutrition experts told you that not eating meat was the way to lose weight.

What else has NASA lied about?

I have to admit, I've never been particularly drawn towards Moon landing skepticism, but the way in which NASA is obviously lying about historical global temperatures is making me increasingly dubious about the notion that they're telling the truth about anything else:

Retired Principal Scientific Officer (PSO) for the British Government exposes “discrepancies” in NASA’s Global Historical Climate Network (GHCN) which serve to make recent temperatures seem warmer. The “mistakes” point to possible fraud intended to give scientific credence to tax-raising UK and US climate policies.

The unnamed source, now retired from the UK Scientific Civil Service and speaking exclusively to Principia Scientific International (PSI), was so disturbed by the “tampering” of government temperature records that he performed his own verification tests and exposed a shocking anomaly that turns the global warming narrative on its head.

The highly qualified whistleblower reveals that he downloaded the raw station data from NASA/GISS gridded land anomaly products and compared them with the anomalies.

It's a little ironic that NASA's attempt to rely upon their scientific credibility to sell a fake science scam is causing more and more people to doubt the reality of its greatest achievement.

The reason the GOP establishment supports impeachment

They are desperate to stop President Trump and his men from uncovering their crimes against children:

The names of some of the largest GOP critics of President Donald Trump are surfacing in the investigation of a politician indicted on charges of fraud, human smuggling, selling children, forgery, conspiracy and ripping off the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System. GOP critics of President Trump, including former US Sen. Jeff Flake, late Sen. John McCain, and Sen. Mitt Romney among others are linked to suspect Paul Petersen. Petersen also campaigned for and is friends with Arizona Gov. Goug Ducey and other politicians, according to records and sources.

But back to the NEW bombshell allegations coming, again, out of Arizona.

The Arizona Senator Farnsworth said that he has been looking into how DCS “lost” more than 550 children last year, roughly half of whom are categorized as either runaways or otherwise missing. The rest appear to be flagged for paperwork errors.

He said he fears the children have been abducted and sold into a global sex trafficking ring, and said he has been holding meetings with DCS, critics of the agency and fellow lawmakers, including Brophy McGee.

Farnsworth said he didn’t believe DCS officials were actively selling children into sexual slavery, but that they are being lax at protecting children from predators who will do so.

While he said he hopes his meetings ultimately prove him wrong, Farnsworth said he is more convinced than ever that Arizona children removed from their parents and put into group homes or foster homes are being sex-trafficked.

“When I first heard about this, I believed that children from Arizona (DCS) were ending up in sex trafficking. Now, after the research I’ve done, I’m confident of it,” he said.

I no longer trust ANY organization that says it is "for the children" or even expresses any particular interest in them at all. Increasingly, such organizations are filled with those who prey upon children in one way or another. Never forget, predators always go where the prey is. 

800 percent and rising

The campaign for the 2020 edition of the Junior Classics continues to go from strength to strength. To explain why it is important, consider the following preface from Volume 4 of the 1918 edition, "Heroes and Heroines of Chivalry", which was excised from the 1958 edition for reasons that will be obvious to anyone who is conversant with the concept of social justice convergence and the long-running cultural war against Christianity and the West. And it probably will not surprise you to know that all three of the stories referenced in this preface were also removed from the 1958 edition.

The preface and all four stories will, of course, appear in the 2020 edition.

The word chivalry is taken from the French cheval, a horse. A knight was a young man, the son of a good family, who was allowed to wear arms. In the story "How the Child of the Sea was made Knight," we are told how a boy of twelve became a page to the queen, and in the opening pages of the story "The Adventures of Sir Gareth," we get a glimpse of a young man growing up at the court of King Arthur. It was not an easy life, that of a boy who wished to become a knight, but it made a man of him. He was taken at an early age, sometimes when only seven years old, to the castle of the king or knight he was to serve. He first became a page or valet, and, under the instruction of a governor, was taught to carve and wait on the table, to hunt and fish, and was drilled in wrestling and riding on horseback. Most pages were taught to dance, and if a boy had talent he was taught to play the harp so he could accompany his voice when singing to the ladies.

By the time a boy was fourteen he was ready to become an esquire. He was then taught to get on and off a horse with his heavy armor on, to wield the battle axe, and practise tilting with a spear. His service to the ladies had now reached the point where he picked out a lady to serve loyally. His endeavor was to please her in all things, in order that he might be known as her knight, and wear her glove or scarf as a badge or favor when he entered the lists of a joust or tournament.

To become a knight was almost as solemn an affair as it was to become a priest. Before the day of the ceremony he fasted, spent the night in prayer, confessed his sins, and received the Holy Sacrament. When morning came he went, clothed in white, to the church or hall, with a knight's sword suspended from his neck. This the priest blessed and returned to him. Upon receiving back the sword he went and knelt before the presiding knight and took the oath of knighthood. The friends who accompanied him now came forward and handed him the spurs, the coat of mail, the armlet and gauntlet, and having put these on he girded on his sword. The presiding knight now bade him kneel, and, touching him three times on the shoulder with the flat of his sword, he pronounced the words that received him into the company of worthy knights: "In the name of God, of St. Michael, and St. George, I make thee a knight; be valiant, courteous, and loyal!" After this he received his helmet, his shield, and his spear, and the ceremony was completed.

The knight's real work, and greatest joy, was fighting for some one who needed his help. Tournaments and jousts gave them chances to show off their skill in public. We must remember that there were no big open-air theatres in those days, such as the Greeks had, no public races or trials of strength such as the Greeks held in the stadiums, nor were there chariot races or fighting gladiators such as the Romans had at an earlier day. Tournaments or jousts were the big public entertainments, and you will find a famous description of one by Sir Walter Scott in Ivanhoe, in the volume "Stories that Never Grow Old," the tournament of Ashby-de-la-Zouche. In it you will find a clear description of how the field of contest was laid out, of the magnificent pavilions decorated with flags, and the galleries spread with carpets and tapestries for the ladies.

The same qualities that made a manful fighter then, make one now: to speak the truth, to perform a promise to the utmost, to reverence all women, to be constant in love, to despise luxury, to be simple and modest and gentle in heart, to help the weak and take no unfair advantage of an inferior. This was the ideal of the age, and chivalry is the word that expresses that ideal. In all our reading we shall perhaps find no more glowing example of it as something real, than in the speech of Sir Jean de Vienne, governor of the besieged town of Calais who, when called upon by King Edward III of England to surrender unconditionally, replied:—

"We are but a small number of knights and squires, who have loyally served our lord and master as you would have done, and have suffered much ill and disquiet, but we will endure far more than any man has done in such a post, before we consent that the smallest boy in the town shall fare worse than ourselves."

And this story you can find in the volume "Tales of Courage and Heroism," entitled "The Noble Burghers of Calais."

Preemptive defense

Hillary Clinton might as well have come out and announced that there are videos of her and other Democratic Party nominees doing horrible things.

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton blamed “flashing videos” on the “dark web” for her 2016 presidential election loss last Friday during a radio interview. Clinton said on Campaign HQ’s podcast that she anticipates President Donald Trump will employ a similar strategy to win re-election next November.

“I think it’s going to be the same as 2016,” Clinton said. “I’m going to show you in these flashing videos that appear and then disappear and they’re on the dark web and nobody can find them, but you’re going to see them and you’re going to see that person doing these horrible things.”

How does she know?  Because she did horrible things and she knew the cameras were rolling. That's the price the elite pays in order to receive their money, fame, and power from the prince of this fallen world.

Do you really believe that Katie Hill, aka Rep. Angelbutt, is an outlier? She isn't. Nearly all US politicians are similarly compromised. The God-Emperor and the Q Team are gradually tearing off the mask and revealing the awful reality to the naive American public.

Please to commence to spiral

It was interesting to observe the reactions by many commenters yesterday to information that happened to challeng some of their assumptions about the world. Now, rather than resorting to simple Boomer "how dare you" rhetoric, let's simply look at this pair of photographs logically. I don't know about you, but I can think of at least seven obvious possible explanations for this apparent anomaly:

1. There were other boots used by the Apollo astronauts with different treads.
2. There were other humans on the Moon who were not Apollo astronauts.
3. There were aliens on the Moon! Aliens that wear boots and have feet roughly the size of a man's foot.
4. Photoshop!
5. The second photograph was not taken on the Moon and the bootprint was left by a studio technician wearing boots with different treads than those worn by the fake astronauts.
6. One of the astronauts drew the alternate bootprint with his finger.
7. A studio technician drew the alternate bootprint with his finger.

Now, how do you rank the probabilities of these seven alternative scenarios? And what do you think this pair of photos proves?

UPDATE: I think it looks a bit like someone with a moon boot stepped on top of a track left by the herringbone-tread wheel of the lunar rover, except the track ends and, at least in this photo, only half of the track appears to be present.

Christianity isn't etiquette

Matt muses over what I would call "churchianity" rather than "Middle Class Christianity", but the point is essentially the same:

A lot of what is called Christian morality today is not necessarily Christian, but more accurately described as Middle Class Christianity. It is the Christianity influenced by the Victorian era politeness and the rather quiet in door working spaces of many Christians, who tend heavily towards the middle class.

Here are examples of the difference:

Middle Class Christianity: Don't be harsh and use mean words to those who come to you, especially if they are in need.

Christianity: Jesus said to the Syrophoenician woman: You don't give the children’s food to the dogs (Matt 15:21-28, Mark 7:24-30).

Middle Class Christianity: It is wrong to even insult those who reject the message of Jesus.

Christianity: Jesus said to the disciples to shake the dust of their feet when leaving an unbelieving town or even home (Matt 10:14). A visible and very offensive gesture in his day. Use your imagination to think of similar offensive gestures

Middle Class Christianity: Quiet kindness and addressing your audience in calm smooth tones is the way to address people. Don’t use ad-hominins, stereotypes, or harsh language.

Christianity: Jesus in the gospel of Matthew: Woe to you Pharisees, you brood of vipers, you snakes, you white-washed tombs, you rotten corpses twice dead, you sons of hell (Matt 23).

Your average Churchian is the modern equivalent of a Pharisee, wrongly thinking himself superior to Jesus Christ and shaking his head in judgement of what he sees as the Son of Man's inferior comportment.

BRUN CREEP

Since the impeachment isn't going so well, Democrats are retreating to a proven tactic to get the God-Emperor out of office:

Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s presidential campaign says its headquarters in Manchester, New Hampshire, was broken into, along with other offices in the same building. Andrew Taverrite, Warren’s New Hampshire communications director, says in a statement that the break-in occurred Wednesday night and “we have no reason to believe this was targeted to the campaign or is anything further than a regular break-in.”

I don't think this will work either.

Cutting off the cash

The Deep State is raging at Trump's persistent attempts to cut off the flow of funding to them:

High-placed federal law enforcement sources dropped a bombshell, claiming the renewed push to impeach the president is rooted, in part, in President Trump’s move to pull the United States out of the conflict in Syria — and stop untold millions in dirty cash from flowing into the deep state’s pockets.

“This isn’t about the Kurds, it’s about the cash,” one FBI source said.

And that cash is no chump change; it’s millions and millions of dollars flowing into the coffers of crooked politicians and deep-state pockets worldwide.

Federal sources paint a dark picture here, alleging crooked politicians and their benefactors are fuming. For years, it is alleged, deep state players have been raking in millions in illicit profits through the manufacturing and distribution of narcotics in Syria.

But that profitable network could stop producing its riches for U.S. players if the cease-fire Trump negotiated continues and if Trump’s plan to remove U.S. personnel from Syria commences.

Well, that and trying to keep themselves off the scaffold for their treason, of course.

The Blue Marble myth

The last time anyone took a photograph from above low Earth orbit that showed an entire hemisphere (one side of a globe) was in 1972 during Apollo 17. NASA’s Earth Observing System (EOS) satellites were designed to give a check-up of Earth’s health. By 2002, we finally had enough data to make a snap shot of the entire Earth. So we did. The hard part was creating a flat map of the Earth’s surface with four months’ of satellite data. Reto Stockli, now at the Swiss Federal Office of Meteorology and Climatology, did much of this work. Then we wrapped the flat map around a ball. My part was integrating the surface, clouds, and oceans to match people’s expectations of how Earth looks from space. That ball became the famous Blue Marble.

I was happy with it but had no idea how widespread it would become. We never thought it would become an icon. I certainly never thought that I would become “Mr. Blue Marble.”

We have since updated the base maps by increasing the resolution and, for 2004, we made a series of monthly maps.

Notice that ALL of the hemisphere photography we think we've seen has turned out to be nonexistent. It's becoming clear that from the evolution fairy tale to the Blue Marble fraud to the dinosaur fraud and the satellite myth, the world is very, very different than we have been told it is. What is the point? To deceive you into serving Satan rather than God.

The satellite balloon technology also explains how the US can keep putting up satellites despite not having any rockets capable of sending up astronauts. I particularly enjoyed the video of the NASA satellite released by the Space Shuttle that was dangling from a wire.

Mailvox: Army rot in OCS, part II

This is a continuation of the email that was first posted on October 20 from a US Army officer observing the current state of the US Army:

Low Quality Training
If we even get it all. While at OCS 75% of the material I have either had to self-teach or rely on help from prior/in-service candidates. Notably, I only got trained on the machine guns by prior-service Marines. This is partly due to manpower shortage in the trainer cadre, as we only have about 1/3 of the regulation amount. This is a good time to mention that the Army has a manpower crisis at the moment. It is also due, however, to mentality. You’re supposed to be a “leader,” which includes knowing things that you don’t know, like how land nav works. Except real life doesn’t work like that, and invariably for military-related tests the prior and in-service candidates come out ahead of the others by 1-2 standard deviations in scores.

An ABUNDANCE of Foreigners of Dubious Loyalty
I would be a rich man if I had a dollar for every time in the military I have heard a peer say “my country” in reference to not-America, and usually not even a country in the West. The foreigners that have been recruited with reckless abandon do not see the empire as being their peoples, and when the chips are really down I don’t trust their fealty at all. Of course, saying as much aloud would be grounds for disciplinary action. These foreigners aren’t evil. It has been many a time that a black peer has helped me when no one else would, or I have helped them. Yet the fact remains that they do not, and never will, view the US as really theirs. None of them do. The separation of blood is just too much.

Appalling Historical Ignorance Among Officer Candidates
They give us a crash course history class and test which is considered extremely difficult. Naturally, the NuBoomers and foreigners had trouble finding space in brains cluttered with porn, trash media, and schemes to get foreign relatives American money and citizenship for such information. The complaints during the whole course were extremely loud. “We don’t need to know about the past,” was a common one I heard. As for the knowledge they had before the course, one remark I overheard a foreign female candidate make tells it all. “I learned something today, haha” I heard her say the week after the test to another female with a Hispanic name, “I thought Abe Lincoln led the Confederacy. That was actually Jefferson Davis.”

Top-Brass Fantasies of Beating Up Russia AND China Simultaneously in Conventional War
There’s a publication called the Army Times that they sell on racks in the PX. Two covers have caught my eye, leading me to purchase the issues: One discussed new army plans to use tactical nukes to win conventional battles. The other went into detail about the Army’s initiative to revive its capacity to conduct “big unit” (read: conventional, pitched-battle) operations. This flushes with other peeks at the higher-ups of the imperial military, as when the Army Infantry School commandant told us in a lecture that it had been a mistake to implement the Brigade Combat Team (a replacement for the divisions designed to be rapidly deployable and fight vastly inferior insurgent forces with only minimal losses being tolerable) and that the Army was rushing to get rid of it in favor something bigger. I interpret this to be downstream of the imperial elites realizing that they are on track for another world war with a Sino-Russian Alliance and are now scrambling to transform their peasant-terrorizing, Christian-betraying, Israel-serving mercenary force into a serious military capable of fighting the up and coming superpower and its friend the Russian phoenix.

In such a war the US in such a war would not be fighting a country exhausted by a more serious war on another front (WWII Germany) or one which possesses vastly inferior technology and resources (WWII Japan), but one which wields full-spectrum superiority once the new Alliance overcomes the barely-relevant technology gap. For your readers, in case this shows up on the blog, I say the tech is barely relevant, because how many wars since WWII has technology helped America win? Oh sure, it helps tactical victories. Yet America has by now a chronic, damning track record of an inability to translate tactical victories into strategic ones. The empire, including its vaunted military, has simply ceded too much ground to degeneration and demoralization to have any hope of fighting as, say, Rome did against Carthage.

At best, I think it will perform more akin to Austria in WWI. At worst it will just come into contact with the Sino-Russian Alliance, lose a major battle, and then the whole shebang will come unglued as the mask comes off concerning loyalty and competence within the ranks. God help us all.

Ace of Spades abandons neoconnery

It's certainly taken long enough, but conservatives are FINALLY beginning to see through the neoclowns:

When I was younger and less experienced -- and had seen less war -- I was a big believer in the Rumsfeld Doctrine, "if the problem seems unsolvable, enlarge it," that is, don't chew about the edges if chewing about the edges doesn't solve things, but go for the whole sandwich if need be.

I also believed the empty Neocon slogans about appeasement and Hitler and Clinton "just kicking the can down the road" in Iraq.

The empty sloganeering went like this: If we don't permanently solve our diplomatic/military crises once and for ever, then we're just "kicking the can down the road" and deferring problems until later.

But watching the Iraq and Afghanistan (and Libya and Syria) fiascoes, I've now come to understand a few things:

First, it is extraordinarily difficult to "solve" massive societal problems in foreign fucking countries. The cancer in Middle East states goes right down to the bone.

We haven't managed to rid America of the Communist Delusion after one hundred years. And we think we're going to cure Islam of Islamism?

It may be simply impossible to "fix" such things, and even if it is theoretically possible, it might take far more wasted men, severed limbs, and pallet-fulls of money than we are willing to spend.

Second, Americans are a bit mercurial in matters of war: They are occasionally keen on it, but quickly tire of it.

We have now had a pretty firm trial run of how many years of war America is willing to tolerate, even if offered terrific provocation (such as 9/11). The answer turns out to be "three to four years, maybe."

Hell, even the liberal wing of the War Party -- the Neocon NeverTrumpers -- began calling anyone who proposed additional screening for Muslim travelers an anti-American racist within three years of 9/11.

Which brings me to the third point: Wars must be sharply limited in goals, with clearly defined victory conditions and a firm exit strategy, and must not be permitted to endlessly mutate new goals and thus new end-points.

And we must not "nation build."

There is no question of how "it may be simply impossible". It is impossible and it has always been impossible and those who have pushed for it knew that from the start. It won't be long until conservatives finally start NOTICING and understanding why the neoclowns have been incessantly pushing for permanent war in the Middle East. Which, of course, is why the Alt-Right - which is to say the Post-Conservative Nationalist American Right, however you want to label it - has always been inevitable.

Of course, it could take longer than one would expect, because conservatives are almost terminally stupid.

It's absurd. It's already been tried and it already failed. Shall we keep on doing it, then? I think I'd rather just eat the whole sandwich and invade Iran.

Because that's supposed to be less absurd? Since Ace has apparently just discovered military history, perhaps he will follow my suggestion to read about a little historical episode known as "the Sicilian Expedition" and a concept called "imperial overstretch".

Blizzard, converged

It's always informative to see how SJWs regularly ignore their own Terms of Use in order to serve the Narrative:

Blizzard Entertainment, the company behind World of Warcraft, Hearthstone, and Diablo forced the guild “Make Azeroth Great Again” to change their name.

WoW Classic player and the leader of the guild Cogblast spoke to GameByte after they reported another guild called “GAY BOYS” was forced to change their name.

Cogblast told Gamebyte, “[Blizzard] did the same thing to my WoW Classic guild ‘Make Azeroth Great Again,’ which was just a tongue-in-cheek name for what was really just a social guild. We got it changed back, and then twelve hours later it was force-changed again.”

Cogblast shared emails he received from Blizzard with Gamebyte that detailed the name would be changed with the specific infraction being an “inappropriate name” and that the guild had been reported multiple times.

In fact, the original email stated, “Due to these player reports we have renamed your World of Warcraft Guild.”

However, a subsequent email from a Blizzard Game Master detailed that the name should not have been changed. The Game Master told Cogmaster, ” took a look here and I am very sorry this happened. I fixed your name and removed the penalty from your account here.”

They added, “You are correct that the name does not break our [Terms of Service].”

However, as Cogblast told GameByte, the name would be forcibly removed again.

Cogblast explained, “[A Blizzard rep] contacted me in-game [and] he basically told me that the name was not ‘RP friendly,’ and that this standard was at least partially based on the opinions of the server.”

Sometimes it matters, and sometimes it doesn't. Regardless, their hypocrisy knows no bounds, so we should not hesitate to force them to conform to our standards and social mores.

Extradition bill withdrawn

The Hong Kong government backs down

Hong Kong authorities officially withdrew the extradition bill that has sparked months-long massive protests and violent riots across the city. The city’s security chief John Lee announced that the bill was effectively withdrawn on Wednesday. In response, several opposition lawmakers tried to heckle Lee’s speech, demanding his resignation.

The bill, which would have allowed the extradition of criminal suspects from Hong Kong, China’s self-governing territory, to mainland China triggered massive protests in summer. Protesters and human rights campaigners feared that Beijing may use the legislation to target dissidents.

My guess is that this is a smart tactical move by the Chinese government to defang what had become an entry point by the CIA and the NGOs attempting to transform the organic protests into a Color Revolution. It surgically removes the nominal basis for the protests, thereby removing the moral high ground - such as it is - from the protests if they continue.

I don't see this as being much of a victory for the protesters, though. I understand the fears concerning extradition being applied to dissidents, but is it really good news that murderers can continue to live in Hong Kong without fear of even being arrested, much less charged and convicted, for their crimes? It seems to me a compromise that limited extradition to being applied to those suspected of murder would be reasonable and serve the interests of both the mainland and the SAR.

They have no one

Democrats are gradually coming to the horrifying conclusion that they don't have anyone who can beat the God-Emperor:

Hillary Clinton, according to two people close to her, has not ruled out jumping in herself, a sign that she is hearing similar dissatisfaction.

"You can imagine much stronger candidates," said Elaine Kamarck, a Democratic National Committee member. She pines for Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, who declined to run, or an outsider like retired admiral William McRaven, who oversaw the 2011 raid that killed al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden.

John Coale, a major donor to both Bill and Hillary Clinton, was more blunt. "They don't have anybody who can win the general," he said.

It's clear who won in Syria

The Turks, Russians, and Syrians have reached an agreement to keep both ISIS and the Kurds under control now that the USA is no longer getting in the way.

Russian military police and Syrian servicemen will be deployed to northeastern Syria, while Turkey’s operation ‘Peace Spring’ will continue in a limited area, presidents Putin and Erdogan have agreed after lengthy talks.

Moscow understands the reasons behind the ongoing Turkish military incursion into Syria, Russia's President Vladimir Putin said, though he stressed it must not play into the hands of terrorists and that the territorial integrity of Syria must be preserved. Ultimately, the country must be freed from all “illegal foreign military presence,” the president added, reiterating Moscow's long-time position.

The almost-seven-hour-long talks in Sochi, Russia between Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan were focused on the situation in Syria, particularly the ongoing offensive in its northeastern region.

Kurdish forces to withdraw

The agreement says the Kurdish-led militias – the prime target of the Turkish operation – must withdraw into Syrian territory beyond 30km from the Turkish border. Erdogan's operation, meanwhile, will continue in a limited area – between towns of Tell Abyad and Ras al-Ayn – up to 32km inside Syrian territory.

Syrian army to be deployed to the border

Other parts of the Syrian border – from Kobani to Tell Abyad and from Ras al-Ayn to the Iraqi border – are set to be controlled by the Syrian military and border guards, supported by Russian military police.

Joint Russia-Turkey patrols along the border

At the same time, areas not affected by the Turkish military operation, will be jointly patrolled by the Turkish military and Russian military police up to 10km deep into Syrian territory.

Well, that's one way to get out of NATO, I suppose.

A veteran with multiple active-duty deployments in Iraq confirms a young officer's observations about the state of the US Army, and specifically, its Officer Candidate School:

I wanted to comment on and, sadly, confirm a good chunk of what your recent OCS attendee wrote.

“Equal” Opportunity: 

Women and especially brown and black women were absolutely given preference. Nothing so brazen as ignoring stated orders and being given a pass, but things like being told to our faces that our waste-of-a-cadet black nurse would be held to a lower standard (supposedly because nurse), or seeing women given consistently higher marks for actions that would have been given at best a “nice job” had she been a man. Some instructors were happier about this than others, but it was obviously an understood thing.

Second Generation Modern Warfare Training: 

Yes, and lots of it. Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) cannot deal with innovative thinkers. Not will not, cannot. Everything is cookie cutter down almost to the last detail and any deviation is punished. I watched our Ranger-tabbed cadet get his ass chewed for not doing things exactly the TRADOC way, never mind that he had met with success by the instructor’s own admission. While the units can and often do beat this out of junior officers, to say that newly commissioned 2LTs are hidebound and risk-averse as a rule is an understatement, and too many continue to be so as their careers progress. If the US Army retains any vestiges of 3rd generation capability, it’s in spite of TRADOC.

The F-Word and A Culture of Gullible Murderers: 

This is also true, but it’s also the fastest one to change with experience. Most of these men are young and fresh out of college, and all of them know that the way you get ahead in the Army is to in part be more bloodthirsty than the next guy. You don’t get points for being thoughtful or even remotely isolationist. Fortunately, much of it is posturing and many change their tunes after deploying a time or two. Not to say it isn’t a problem, just that it’s probably the most superficial and fastest to change of all the so far published points.

What I Call the “NuBoomer” Sub-Generation: 

This one’s a bit more complicated. Do they exist? Yes, but part of it is inexperience, part of it is social conditioning, and the rest is telling the boss what he wants to hear. There are a lot more open dissidents in the Active and Guard ranks, especially in combat arms, including commanders. Of the several commanding officers I’ve served under, the closest I ever saw to this was a disgruntled Gen Xer who by virtue of his wife and where he lived, had a tendency to spout the Narrative. The incoming officers, at least in combat arms, will more often shuck the Narrative as soon as they see no one else is buying, though the superficial sense of religion is sadly spot on. They are, however, just as post-literate as the rest of their generation and civnattery is the last of the Narrative to go, if it ever does. Racism and sexism remain the only unforgivable sins in the Army.

Based on your source’s published letter, the rot I saw has gotten worse. From the view of a veteran, most of it is still confined to the support elements. Their reputations as hives of LGBT+, feminism, and all of the other contaminants of the Clown World are, from what I’ve observed, sadly merited. Combat arms still tries to focus on warfighting, but we are not immune and the rot is creeping in.

The Trump dynasty rises

The son has become the prime warmup act for the father at political rallies, often appearing more than an hour before the president speaks, another bombastic provocateur who revels in the tribal loyalty of the supporters who pack Trump rallies. It is a call to arms to a fawning crowd and Donald Jr. has become a master preacher.

His speeches are laced with the same incendiary, sometimes false rhetoric as his father's, at times even questioning whether Democrats can call themselves Christians. But in these venues, his word is gospel.

The "2024" call from the audience at a San Antonio convention center room on Tuesday underscored the rising stardom of the president's eldest son, who has become the swaggering embodiment of the "Make America Great Again" ethos.

The God-Emperor's primary weakness is his bone-deep civnattery. His secondary weakness is his strong preference for negotiation with his implacable enemies to war with them. But his rightful heir and successor gets it. If the father can drain the swamp, the son can actually begin making America American again.

Who broke Jordan Peterson?

He's actually breaking down and crying in interviews because he's out of meth someone tweeted mean things at him.

I've enjoyed his work, but Jordan Peterson is lost. He had a horrific mental break during his recent interview with Rex Murphy where he literally cries about getting mean tweets.

That's right. Exactly. And that's exactly the right way of thinking about it. You know, people, civilized people, and I mean that civilized, social people cannot tolerate being mobbed. Because there's a reason for that, you see. You said, with regards to the British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal, if there's 16 people on one side and one on the other, you might be thinking that the 16 people are right.

More or less.

Right, right! But you think of the situation where you said something on Twitter and a thousand people mob you. Publicly! Your first response, if you're... your first response is going to be to examine your own conscience and see how you transgressed. It's not really much different psychologically... I mean it's lesser... it's not that much different than waking up one morning, coming to your door, and finding a mob of your neighbors angrily aggregated on your lawn! It's a terrible shock for people. It really hurts them! They're often, often, by all accounts, damaged for lengthy periods of time by this.  And their first impulse is to apologize, which is truly the wrong thing to do!

It is.

Well, the right thing to do is to understand that if you haven't done anything wrong, you don't apologize. Now that's very difficult. Very difficult. And to wait. If you wait two weeks, people will come to your defense.

Yeah, they will.

But it takes two weeks for them to get their act together, whereas it takes the activists, who are unbelievably organized, fifteen seconds to mob.

This guy is such a drugged-out emotional train wreck, it's almost not even funny anymore. Almost. Not that he doesn't deserve every single bit of criticism and mockery he receives, because he merits it on the basis of being a complete charlatan who should never have posed as any sort of lifestyle philosopher for young men. He's now quite obviously the frail and weepy shadow of the towering intellectual figure he pretended to be.

And remember, this is the very same man who claimed community doesn't matter, family doesn't matter, and every man should stand on his own, by himself, and without any allegiance to a group identity, because group identities are "pathological". Now he's literally crying in public because others don't come to his defense soon enough when he's legitimately attacked for his charlatanry.

What a pathological liar. What an utter freaking fraud. And, of course, he gets it absolutely wrong, as Captain America explains the correct way to address a howling, wrongheaded mob.

Psychopathy is fit

A science experiment backs up the PUA theory concerning the attractiveness of Dark Triad men:

In his research Mr Brazil recruited 46 men to produce two-minute videos of themselves to be shown to prospective romantic partners.

They were interviewed by a female research assistant in the clips, and spoke about what they'd do on a first date or what they looked for in a relationship. The same men were then tested to measure whether they had psychopathic personality traits, and to gauge their social intelligence and their views on sex.

A group of 108 women then watched the videos and rated the men on their attractiveness in general, how sexy they thought they were, and their confidence.

Mr Brazil found that the higher a man scored on the psychopathy test, in general, the more attractive he was considered to be by the women.

Stop trying to be "nice", gentlemen. There is a reason why "the Perfect Gentleman" was an involuntary celibate. And don't believe the music, ladies. It's not mere coincidence that the guy who sings about how he can treat you better and how you deserve a gentleman is a closeted homosexual.

A world without books

There are other harbingers of impending disaster that demand some handwringing, and not just for nerdy bibliophiles. Books hold insight into a world that cannot be altered or destroyed from the distant data overlords hunkered down in Silicon Valley. Books are anchors in a storm-tossed sea of change, where it is nearly impossible to get a secure footing. Books provide harbor from the tyranny of men, hell-bent on destroying any vestige of the past so that their plans for some future dystopia will meet less resistance. Books, the ultimate source of wisdom and knowledge, handed down through the ages, remain the last bulwark against tyranny. Treasure your books and never turn them in; they’re our lifeline to a benevolent and decent future.

Clueless cowards

It's reprehensibly stupid when sports reporters not only can't stick to sports, but insist on publicly demonstrating both their complete ignorance of geopolitics as well as their intellectual cowardice.

You mean you don’t want me to stick to sports?

One overriding thought about the NBA-China-United States-LeBron-Morey story: If Daryl Morey expresses his opinion wishing good luck to Hong Kong for its freedom fight from China, and if China gets incredibly ticked off about it, that is understandable. China is not as free as the United States. So of course China will be angry. So what? The Chinese run their country their way. We run our country our way. Why should anyone in the United States—particularly someone who has benefited from the freedoms of the United States like LeBron James—kowtow to China? Our belief is that our citizens can speak freely, which is what Daryl Morey was doing. China should understand this is who we are. Who cares if China is offended? If the Chinese don’t accept that we have a right to criticize them, well, tough. And if it costs the NBA billions, such is life.

I get it: It’s not my money at stake. But it’s outrageous, honestly, that China would be outraged at us. If they want to prevent their citizens from speaking freely, that’s their business. We allow our citizens to express opinions, on everything. They should understand that.

Why should the Chinese understand that? Why should anyone understand that, especially when it is observably false? Peter King would disemploy, disavow, and forcibly silence anyone in his power who expressed an opinion of which he did not approve on race, sex, or sexual abnormalities. Why should he affect outrage that China should wield its economic power as it sees fit?

If Sports Illustrated had simply stuck to sports, it might not be circling the drain now.

An exciting week in Barcelona

The protests continue in Catalunya:

Separatist Catalan leaders on Saturday called on the Spanish government to hold talks as thousands protested for a sixth day in Barcelona.

Protestors accused police of "repression" and chanted "we are people of peace" following a night of clashes during which nearly 200 people were hurt.

They called riot police who had sealed off the demonstration "occupation forces" and one young demonstrator who asked to remain anonymous told AFP: "For me, this is not violence, it is self defence."

Overnight Friday, radical separatists had hurled rocks and fireworks at police who responded with tear gas and rubber bullets.

Regional interior minister Miquel Buch, who backs the movement for independence, urged protestors to be peaceful on Saturday.

Regional president Quim Torra meanwhile said in a speech: "We exhort the head of the government to fix today a day and hour to sit with us for unconditional talks."

His demand for "unconditional" negotiations, addressed to Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, appeared to be aimed at ensuring that a referendum on independence, currently a non-starter for Madrid, was up for discussion.

Barcelona has been rocked all week by protests against a Spanish court's jailing of nine separatist leaders on sedition charges over the failed 2017 independence bid.

Emergency services said Saturday that 152 people had been injured in overnight clashes in Barcelona. Dozens more hurt elsewhere in Catalonia, taking the total to 182.

Authorities had already reported 500 injured since protests started Monday.

The reality is that the world is barely beginning to enter into a retractionary period, which means that ALL of the active irredentist movements from Catalonia to Scotland to the US southwest are likely to eventually achieve their goals of separation and political sovereignty.

Those who don't understand socionomics or the patterns of history will naturally be inclined to be skeptical, but then, how many of them foresaw these developments nearly 30 years ago when the Swiss and Norwegian votes to reject the European Union, in 1992 and 1994, respectively, signaled the beginning of the end of the massive global expansionary cycle that followed the first world war.

Mailvox: Army rot in OCS, part I

An email from a US Army officer who shares his perceptions of an organization in decline after completing Officer Candidate School:

I’ll just say that my experience is very fresh. I think it’s important to give a bit of backstory to how I’ve become so disillusioned, because in military culture disillusionment is automatically regarded as a defense mechanism for underperformers. I come from a military family with a line of high US officers. I used to believe in all the neo-con talking points that my peers endlessly spout. I even tried out for special forces, I believed in the whole US military thing so much....

“Equal” Opportunity: 
I believe you and your fans will already know of the low standards women are held to, so I’ll just share a risible story of the worst example here. The first Friday of the course OCS always has a “Class Up Run,” of 3 miles at about a 9-minute pace. We were sternly warned that falling out of formation would result in a day-one reset, which carries with it the sentence of being a holdover at the Company HQ barracks. This is the worst thing candidates fear being done to them short of dismissal. Well, wouldn’t you know it but four brown females decided to walk the last mile. Nothing happened to them. All of the First Sergeant & Company Commander’s aggressive warnings (and these guys are infantrymen with the latter having the vaunted Ranger tab) were subsequently memory-holed.

Second Generation Modern Warfare Training: 
All the training we’ve received here is precisely in line with what Mr. Lind would call “Second Generation.” It is procedure obsessed and crushes innovation. Oh, they talk constantly about the awesome talent of the Imperial German Army (Stormtrooper tactics) and the later Wehrmacht innovations and pretend that their manuals and whatnot are derived from them, but in practice that’s a lie. If you tried to innovate outside the holy law of the field manuals, you would provoke a mighty REE the likes of which a gamma would give when his perceived ruleset is broken. The training tries to pound you into a box and then stay in that box.

The F-Word and A Culture of Gullible Murderers: 
“Freedom.” That’s all you gotta say to get the otherwise decent men that comprise my peers to want to murder people en masse minding their own business in their own countries. It’s a variant strain of NPC “orange man bad,” except it takes the form of “Taliban/Iranian/Russian/Chinese bad, me kill.” They love talking about killing people without regard to why, who, or the consequences so long as the act is justified by authority figures, whom they - most of them anyway - believe without reservation. This leads me to my next point…

What I Call the “NuBoomer” Sub-Generation: 
Boomer mentality has been successfully transmitted to a subset of millennials who are making up most of the high-spirited white officers. They are boomers except that they were born in the 90’s or very early 2000’s. What is boomer about them? The previously-mentioned automatic, sacrosanct trust in authority. If the media and gubmint tell them Iran blew up the ships, they believe it. Fake belief in the Bible; they will either be ‘cultural’ Christians who read Thomas Jefferson’s heretical tract as a substitute for the real Bible, or blithely ignore the politically incorrect passages of scripture. They furthermore embrace civnattery wholeheartedly, talking about how awesome it is to have fifth columns and grifters representatives from all colors and creeds in the ranks. Not to mention women and LGBT+ (soon to add P). Questioning mainstream narratives is beyond the pale  to them, and they love to consume mainstream ‘culture,’ i.e. movies, Netflix & pay-to-win games. These are the young men that the neo-cons are dependent on keeping sated and nationally/religiously unconscious for it is they who fight the imperial wars with high morale.

Hey, I sent the letter!

Y'all never said nothing about not sending MORE letters! Boris Johnson circumvents the Remainer Parliament's attempt to force his hand.

Late tonight – just before the midnight deadline stipulated by 'wrecker' MPs – a total of three letters were due to be sent from the Government to Donald Tusk, the president of the European Council.

The first was the letter demanded by the Benn Act, which asks the EU to delay Brexit beyond the October 31 deadline – but not signed by Boris Johnson – using the exact wording specified in the legislation.

The second was a covering letter, written by Sir Tim Barrow, the UK's Permanent Representative in Brussels, which made clear that the first letter was from Parliament, not the Government.

And the third was a letter from Mr Johnson, which was also sent to the leaders of the other 27 EU nations, in which he disavowed the first letter by making clear that he does not want any delay to Brexit.

In it, the PM said any further hold-up would be 'deeply corrosive', and would 'damage the interests of the UK and our EU partners'.

The historic batch of correspondence, which were sent by Sir Tim in both hard copy and electronically, represents the Prime Minister's defiant riposte to the 'rebel alliance' who scuppered his attempt to finally secure Commons support for Brexit today.

Mr Johnson is also steeling himself for an instant legal challenge from pro-Remain groups to his three-letter ploy on the grounds that he did not sign the Benn missive.

However, No 10 lawyers have pointed out that the Benn Act only orders the PM to 'send' not 'sign' a letter.

It's fascinating to see the Right and the nationalists finally playing the game by the same rules as the Left and the globalists. But playing by the letter of the law rather than what you believe its spirit should ideally be is the only possible way to play if you have any intention of winning.
