Fake American, fake patriot

A Marine who knew LTC Vindman exposes him as an anti-American partisan from 2012:
Vindman, who was a Major at the time, was sitting in one of the classrooms talking to the US & Russian Soldiers, as well as the young Officers & GS Employees about America, Russia, & Obama. He was apologetic of American culture, laughed about Americans not being educated or worldly, & really talked up Obama & globalism to the point of uncomfortable. He would speak w/the Russian Soldiers & laugh as if at the expense of the US personnel. It was so uncomfortable & unprofessional, one of the GS employees came & told me everything above. I walked over & sat w/in earshot of Vindman, & sure enough, all was confirmed.

One comment truly struck me as odd, & it was w/respect to American's falsely thinking they're exceptional, when he said, "He [Obama] is working on that now." And he said it w/a snide 'I know a secret' look on his face. I honestly don't know what it meant, it just sounded like an odd thing to say. Regardless, after hearing him bash America a few times in front of subordinates, Russians, & GS Employees, as well as, hearing an earful about globalization, Obama's plan, etc...I'd had enough. I tapped him on the shoulder & asked him to step outside. At that point I verbally reprimanded him for his actions, & I'll leave it at that, so as not to be unprofessional myself.

The bottom-line is LTC Vindman was a partisan Democrat at least as far back as 2012. So much so, junior officers & soldiers felt uncomfortable around him.
Traitor then, traitor now. Every single time.

You are right to be furious

Milo reviews Joker:
This is a film about a young man who is driven by the rampant, illegitimate cruelty around him to do appalling things. The message, the moral of the story, is that Joker is what is going to happen to us soon, unless these dissociated and disaffected young males find something better to believe in. This is our future, unless society starts treating them—treating us—with the respect and dignity we deserve.

In every outdoor shot, Arthur Fleck is surrounded by the signs of decadent late capitalism. This is a failed nostalgia because although the film is set some forty years ago, it could just as well be playing out today. Pornography and drugs flood the streets, and there are signs everywhere telling Fleck—and the viewer—to grin and bear it, to “put on a happy face.” We’ve been told that for some time now, haven’t we? We’ve been told to turn a blind eye to the excesses of modern feminism, because, well, ladies had it pretty rough back in the day guys, didn’t they? We’ve been told to go easy on race-baiting conspiracy theorists because, you know, you’re white and so you’ve inherited all that privilege, my guy! After all, aren’t we the aggressors—the historical oppressors of just about everyone else?

This nonsense, this desperate plea for pity in the face of historical reality, is wearing pretty fucking thin in 2019. While we are being bamboozled, society has become hostile to its own engines of progress and creation, alienating and spurning Christians, men, heterosexuals and, yes, white people. The after-effects of this terrible neglect are setting in, and the young men I know are searching for a means to sublimate their rage and pain. And they want someone—anyone—to say: You are right to be furious.
The filmmakers are mocking the rightful wrath that is to come because they fear it. But the day of Deus Vult is coming and there is no power on Earth that can stop it. Remember, every knee SHALL bow.

Willingly or unwillingly, even the haters and enemies of God will bend the knee before Jesus Christ.

I agree with Milo when he says the West is primed for a religious revival. The bankruptcy of the Enlightenment, the dead end of hedonistic degeneracy, the vacuousness of science, and the unadulterated wickedness of the satanists is becoming abundantly clear to everyone with eyes.

You are right to hate the wicked. And you are right to be furious.

Respect should be a given

If you find the comments here to be sub-standard, you really need to read the YouTube comments to put them in perspective:
Owen banned me for saying something was "pretty funny" when I was laughing my ass off in a public library, after being a fan for a year and sharing essentially my life story with him and desperately asking him to buy me a bus ticket from Colorado to Texas. He isn't a leader, he's an entertainer, and I'm a free-thinking millennial with a different vernacular, I don't fit in, and he doesn't want that kind of responsibility. He used to ban people for saying lol because it looks like a person drowning so I shouldn't have taken it too personally, but I did. I'm renouncing my American citizenship anyway, this country and its people have done nothing but oppress me and mock me and act like I'm lucky to even be a free man when that's to be expected. I'm not a criminal. No one needs me. I get it. I just want to be treated like a respectable dishwasher and get off the streets. There's no reason that I should have such a hard time demanding the smallest amount of respect. Respect shouldn't have to be earned, it's called etiquette, and lack of it should certainly lead to loss of respect. Respecting a fellow American, or Bear, or former Bear in this case should be a given, but it isn't. That's why I was banned.
To which I responded:

That is so sad and wrong! I will call Owen at once and DEMAND that you be unbanned from his channel at once. I will also ask him to build you a nice little house on his property with his own hands, constructed with wood from trees he has personally cut down, complete with your own goat to provide milk for your morning tea. No, don't thank me, it's really the least you deserve! I am so sorry that you had to experience such horror. Thank you for your service.

Jonah Goldberg, advice columnist

Fortunately, the God-Emperor is very unlikely to take the suggestion of a former Republican Smart Boy turned professional cuckservative:
In l’affaire Ukraine, the president is guilty as charged. And the best strategy for him to avoid impeachment by the House and perhaps even removal by the Senate is to admit it, apologize, and let voters make their own judgment. It’s also the best way to fend off a disaster for Senate Republicans.

The president is accused — politically, not criminally — of trying to force the Ukrainian president to tar former vice president Joe Biden with an investigation into his alleged “corruption” in exchange for the release of military aid and a meeting in the Oval Office. I believe a plain reading of the rough transcript of a phone call between Trump and Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky supports the charge. So does testimony from the top American diplomat in Ukraine, William Taylor, as well as several other Trump appointees and aides, including Tuesday’s testimony from Alexander Vindman, a National Security Council staffer who listened to the phone call. There’s still due diligence to be done, but it seems implausible they’re all lying.

Common sense also works against the president. If Trump were sincerely concerned about Ukrainian corruption, why has he never expressed similar concerns about corruption anywhere else? And, why, if the issue is Ukrainian corruption generally, did the Trump administration focus on the alleged corruption of a single Ukrainian firm, Burisma, where Biden’s son sat on the board?
Assume guilt. Demand apology. Increase pressure. Sounds... familiar. It's really remarkable to see how much cucks pattern their behavior these days on SJWs. It's really impressive to see how desperate the God-Emperor's enemies have become of late.

Mailvox: the moronic angle

It seems even long-time commenters here never learn to stop clinging to their false assumptions when I call them into question:
Vox, the Chinese are communist butchers. They are no more moral than we are. They are just as much sadistic murderers as the worst of the paper Americans or PP demons. They have slaughtered at least as many or more of their own people as America has killed unborn children. I don't know what your UHIQ angle is here, but I'd sure love to know. If you don't have an angle here, you are dead fucking wrong about the Chinese.
Look,  everyone needs to simply get over their childhood upbringings and drop their kneejerk moronics. I know far more about Chinese history and culture than most of the readers here, as those who live there and speak the language can testify, even though my focus as an East Asian Studies major was on Japan. And my exposure to YouTube has not heightened my tolerance for the clueless ignorati that knows absolutely nothing about a subject in question attempting to 'correct" me.

The China today is not the China of 221 BC or 1973 AD. The Chinese leadership today has less in common with Mao than Obama did with Eisenhower. It is simply risible how self-appointed foreign policy experts who don't even have passports go from blathering about how Europe is lost to the way China is doomed, blithely serene in their confidence that the USA will always be the greatest, wealthiest, most free country forever and ever, world without end.

Xi is not Deng is not Mao. It is readily apparent to even the most casual observer that China and the USA are on different moral trajectories. One society is trying to encourage people to get married, take pride in their nation, and stop spitting in public, the other is trying to encourage drag queen reading hour, soldiers in heels, and surgical sexual mutilation. One society is punishing those who have a servile attitude to foreign countries, the other has made it a criminal offense to criticize or refuse to buy from a certain foreign country. One society is proudly nationalist, the other silences, disemploys, and attacks its nationalists.

I further note that George Soros considers Xi Jinping the most dangerous enemy to his satanic globalist ideology. Not the Pope, not Orban, not Trump, not even Putin, but Xi.

One society is observably assembling the building blocks for sustainable success, the other is actively tearing apart its foundations. And it doesn't require UHQ to determine, on that basis, which society is currently favored by the probabilities. It's long past time to get over the 1970s and Boomer fears about "the ChiComs and Russkies".

Welcome to Finance World Hell

The media is finally suffering the inevitable effects of financial predation and is now crying about the very "economic efficiencies" they used to celebrate in the industrial sector:
Their employees call them “soulless” and “vultures” -- as does presidential candidate Bernie Sanders. Their focus on cost cutting has sparked newsroom rebellions. And they are snapping up more and more of the media landscape.

These days, whenever there is an uprising in the media business, the chances are that a private equity firm is involved. The latest clash happened this week at the sports website Deadspin, where the interim editor in chief said he was fired for refusing to limit the site’s focus to sports coverage. Afterward, at least eight journalists resigned in protest, including more than half of the site’s writers.

Sanders, the independent Vermont senator seeking the Democratic nomination for president, chimed in late Thursday with a tweet supporting Deadspin workers and lambasting Jim Spanfeller, chief executive officer of Deadspin parent G/O Media.

G/O Media is a collection of websites owned by the private equity firm Great Hill Partners. Two months earlier, Deadspin’s former editor in chief also quit, claiming that Great Hill Partners wanted to cash out quickly rather than invest in the long-term growth of the site.
It's never quite as fun when it's your own ox getting gored, is it? Learn to code....

The real British civil war

It's not Brexit, it's the Sussex Rebellion against the Crown:
Prince Harry and his renegade wife, Meghan, threw a tantrum and reportedly threatened to quit the Royal Family during a bitter confrontation with the Queen, insiders said. But if the pair were hoping the 93-year-old monarch would beg them to stay, they were flat-out wrong, RadarOnline.com has learned.

“Her Majesty called their bluff. She told them that she was delighted with their decision and couldn’t wait for them to leave,” a high-level palace courtier told Radar.

But that wasn’t the Queen’s only payback for the “divisive” couple, who committed the cardinal sin of dissing royal life in public.

The source claims she “stripped them of their royal titles, their newly renovated home, Frogmore Cottage — and about $15 million in financial support.
Maybe it's true, maybe it's not. But it would be massively hilarious if it turned out to be true. Gentlemen, never, ever, marry a malignant narcissist. Prince Harry could have, and should have, married a nice English Rose and lived a happy, prosperous life of service to the English nation. Instead, he went outside his nation and against his family, and now he is only beginning to pay the price.

This is the family that banished a king, after all. They wouldn't hesitate to banish a mere duke who has repeatedly embarrassed them.

Ascendancy vs degeneracy

In case you still haven't accepted that China is going to surpass the United States as the leading global power before the middle of the 21st century yet, consider the difference between the moral trajectory of the two societies.
From budgeting for rural weddings to dressing appropriately and avoiding online porn, China's Communist Party has issued new guidelines to improve the "moral quality" of its citizens. Officials have released several sets of guidelines this week alongside a secretive conclave of high-ranking officials in Beijing which discusses the country's future direction.

On Sunday the government published its "Outline for the Implementation of Citizen Moral Construction in the New Era" -- which advises readers how to use the internet, raise children, celebrate public holidays and behave while travelling abroad.

The guidelines from the Central Commission for Guiding Cultural and Ethical Progress calls for building "Chinese spirit, Chinese values, and Chinese power".

The texts urge citizens to avoid pornography and vulgarity online, and follow correct etiquette when raising the flag or singing the national anthem.

Public institutions like libraries and youth centres must carry out "targeted moral education" to improve people's ideological awareness and moral standards, according to the rules.

The guideline also stresses patriotism and loyalty to the motherland.

"People who have a servile attitude to foreign countries, damage national dignity and sell national interests must be disciplined according to the law," it says.
Translation: The Chinese leadership is well aware of the long-term program of the Learned Elders of Wye to jump from the United States to China when the former empire collapses and have no intention of allowing them to run that program of subversion and economic ascendancy through invasion and moral inversion to the disadvantage of their nation.

It is more than a little ironic that where Christians failed to heed the warnings of Jesus Christ and the Apostle Paul, Confucians - and they are Confucians, not Communists, no matter what they officially happen to call themselves - are aware of the danger of permitting a foreign nation to invade and invert their society. Even more impressive, instead of waiting passively for the next attack, they have launched a systematic campaign to seize the strongholds of their long-term rivals and enemies.

As for those who have been predicting China's collapse due to various economic and demographic indicators, that is a failure to grasp the causal relationship between societal wealth and morality. It is the latter that precedes the former; while there are certainly challenges and structural weaknesses that threaten the stability and well-being of both great societies, the Chinese elite is most likely going to be able to deal successfully with them. The US elite, both foreign and native, is obviously not.

Wait, what?

Captain Europa is NOT amused by Marvel moving in on his turf:
In a move to make Captain America more appealing to a modern audience, Marvel announced Monday the iconic comic and film character will be rebooted as Captain Globalism.

"The very idea of America is offensive and outdated," said a Marvel rep. "There are billions of people who weren't able to relate to Captain America because of his triggering name and crude stars-and-stripes-colored uniform and shield. They'll feel much more at home with Cap now that his goal is to break down all borders and unite everybody under a New World Order."
What about global income equality? What about the Global Justice Initiative?

That's NOT a defense

If your argument that the science is wrong and women are too funny relies upon Sarah Silverman, then you've got no chance at all:
We then calculated sex differences on the combined sample and found that men were, overall, rated as funnier than women. How big was the difference? In statistical technical terms, the effect size was 0.32, or roughly one-third of the standard deviation. In plain English, this means that 63 percent of men score above the mean humor ability of women. This is considered a small to medium difference.

We also looked for a long list of possible confounding variables that might explain the difference. The countries where the data come from, the sex of the authors doing the research, age of participants, whether there were more men or women judging the humor—none of it made a difference in our analysis.

What does it all mean? It means that to the best of our knowledge, on average, men appear to have higher humor production ability than women. Note that I emphasized the word average because the study does not mean, as Christopher Hitchens famously proclaimed, that women are not funny. The fact that men, on average, appear to be funnier than women, does not imply that every single man is funnier than every single woman. There are many great female comedians such as Sarah Silverman, Tina Fey, Ali Wong and historically, Lucille Ball, Joan Rivers, and many, many more. All these great comedians are funnier than 99.9 percent of all men.
As a general rule, men perform for women rather than the reverse. So it should hardly be surprising, or controversial, that the average man's ability to do so is considerably more honed than the average woman's.

Needless to say, female comedians are taking it well.

“I really think it’s unnecessary to do this study,” Marina Bye, a female comedian, told BBC. “They could have done something progressive.”

The terror of the cucks

They are beginning to realize that cucking will not save them. No one will ever be safe from SJWs. Not even if you're a card-carrying liberal academic who votes Democrat and whose life purpose is to address inequality:
Earlier this month, Ascend, the high-performing Brooklyn charter-school network, fired its accomplished founder and CEO, Steven Wilson. What had Wilson done to deserve this? Not much.

Wilson, a school leader with decades of experience, a onetime senior fellow at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, and the author of two books on school reform, became perhaps the most visible victim to date of charter schooling’s worrisome turn to politically correct groupthink. Woke enough to declare that his life’s purpose is “addressing education inequalities,” he nevertheless dared to talk frankly about third-rail questions of educational rigor and excellence, and paid the price.

This past summer, on June 4, Wilson penned a blog post titled, “The promise of intellectual joy” that appeared on Ascend’s website. Wilson argued that “democratic” education must strive to “grant all students the knowledge and faculties of mind that had once only been afforded the elite.” He lamented that intellectual pursuit is today too often seen not as a democratic birthright, but as an elitist affectation.

Wilson fretted that values such as “objectivity” and “worship of the written word” had been dismissed as “damaging characteristics of white supremacy culture.” He said there was a “growing risk” that efforts to make schools more “diverse, equitable, and inclusive” could “be shamefully exploited to justify reduced intellectual expectations of students.” Schools must find ways to make clear that “intellectual pursuit” and “especially intellectual joy” are good for all students, of every race and background. If we fail to do that, Wilson argued, “The distinctly American project of equal opportunity will continue to be thwarted.”

One might find all this all to be anodyne enough. Yet, in the progressive-driven culture war that has consumed charter schooling, Wilson’s lofty sentiments were grounds for angry attacks. Soon after the post appeared, a group that labeled itself “Friends of Ascend” started a petition on Change.org that sought to “hold the CEO of Ascend Public Charter Schools accountable for white supremacist rhetoric.” The petition insisted that Wilson’s post contained “offensive and oppressive content that . . .  propagates destructive messages about the community that Ascend serves.”

A few months after the petition surfaced, Ascend’s board reviewed Wilson’s “record,” and he was fired.
Wilson isn't someone who merits defending; this is clearly a case of a man reaping what he has sown. The point is that if even someone with his unquestioned left-liberal credentials is being targeted for discrediting and disemployment, what hope do you have of being left alone?

They fear us

And they fear us more than we fear them:
I’m one of the lawyers who writes Terms of Service for software companies. We try to make these Terms as short and clear as possible, because if we don’t, it means people either won’t use the products or they may sue the company, both of which are terrible results for the company. I’m always amazed by the questions suggesting we’re trying to sneak in some sort of clause saying that if you use the product, you agree to give us your left kidney or whatever. All we’re trying to do is give you access to free or affordable software products and not get sued for the way you choose to use them.
However, it's not hard to understand why the converged software companies run roughshod over everyone when they keep seeing people react to deplatformings like this.

"I explained to them that I live in a city with 60,000 homeless people and that they are about to make me and my wife join their ranks."

The extent to which this guy fails to understand the actual situation almost defies understanding. Conservatives staunchly refuse to understand the "war" part of "cultural war". He simply does not grasp that forcing him and his wife join the ranks of the homeless would be considered a feature, not a bug, of the deplatforming process.

Few of even the most converged corporations would risk these "terrible results" if they had any cause at all to expect them as a possible consequence of their actions.

Another neoclown attack

It's informative to see that no matter where they nominally come from, and no matter what organization they've happened to infiltrate, the neoclowns are irretrievably and unabashedly opposed to President Trump and the interests of the American people.
Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, the National Security Council staffer set to deliver dramatic testimony confirming that President Donald Trump sought dirt from Ukraine on a political rival, is a Jewish refugee from that country when it was part of the Soviet Union.

“I did not think it was proper to demand that a foreign government investigate a U.S. citizen, and I was worried about the implications for the U.S. government’s support of Ukraine,” Vindman, an Army officer and the top NSC official handling Ukraine, says in testimony posted Monday evening by The New York Times, which he is set to deliver to congressional investigators on Tuesday.
Precisely what does this Fake American know about what is proper or improper for the U.S. government? He's observably less loyal to the United States than Benedict Arnold ever was. The God-Emperor should not hesistate to order him to be dishonorably discharged.

Every. Single. Time. This is why you always sink the damn ships.

Run on the freaks, Republicans

Nothing better underlines the stupidity of the Republican Party like its failure to shore up its weakness with white women by aggressively campaigning against fake women competing against girls in sports. But I enjoyed the SJW doublethink in this article about the glorious, but irrelevant victories of the mentally deranged:
Transgender athletes are having a moment. At all levels of sport, they’re stepping onto the podium and into the headlines. New Zealand weightlifter Laurel Hubbard won two gold medals at the Pacific Games, and college senior CeCé Telfer became the NCAA Division II national champion in the 400-meter run. Another senior, June Eastwood, has been instrumental to her cross-country team’s success. At the high school level, Terry Miller won the girls’ 200-meter dash at Connecticut’s state open championship track meet....

For all the hand-wringing about transgender women ruining women’s sport, so far there’s little evidence of that happening. Although CeCé Telfer and June Eastwood garnered attention for their outstanding performances on women’s collegiate running teams, they are hardly the only transgender athletes in the NCAA. Helen Carroll is a LGBTQ sports advocate who worked on the NCAA transgender handbook. Through her advocacy work, she has interacted extensively with transgender athletes and she estimates there are somewhere in the neighborhood of 150 to 200 transgender athletes currently competing in NCAA sports. Most of them “you don’t hear a thing about,” she says, because their participation hasn’t caused controversy.
So, what is it? Are they stepping onto podiums or are they irrelevant? Either way, Republicans should be capturing the female outrage about being forced to compete with and be beaten by men pretending to be women by banning all XY vs XX athletic competition.

Comedy control

In Great Britain, comedy is controlled by the BBC and the city councils. But it's not any better in the USA, where the control is farmed out to Wikipedia admins, Hollywood agencies, and the converged social media companies for thought policing:
Controversial comedian Roy Chubby Brown will not be performing in Swansea next year, after the city's Labour council cancelled a planned appearance because it 'doesn't reflect its values'.

The entertainer, 74, was due to appear in the Welsh city next April to perform at its Grand Theatre.

But Swansea Council has now scrapped the show after deciding it would not work alongside its new 'programming aspirations'.

They've apologised to 52 advance ticket holders, who will be refunded.

Furious fans have slammed the council following the decision, accusing them of dictating what the public can and cannot watch.

Born Royston Vasey, Roy Chubby Brown's acts consist of blue humour, a free speaking style and lack of concern for political correctness.

Though controversial, the comic has a legion of fans and performs at the Grand Theatre regularly.

In a statement released on social media, Swansea Council said: "We have decided not to go ahead with a provisional booking for Roy 'Chubby' Brown after considering how it would work alongside our new programming aspirations and partnerships. We want all our communities and staff to feel welcome and we felt this booking was unlikely to reflect our values and commitments to them.

"After fully considering the booking, we are refunding 52 advance sale ticket-holders and we apologise to those who may have been disappointed. We recently decided that a fresh approach is essential if we are to cater for future audience needs. Our aim is to refresh the Grand Theatre programming and offer something new and fresh for all our communities; this will meet Swansea Council's commitment to culture, regeneration and equal opportunity."
It's not an accident that the social justice program of Tolerance, Equality, Progress, Inclusivity, and Diversity can be described as TEPID.

Creepy Joe is over

The mainstream media has abandoned Joe Biden:
Joe Biden risks a humiliating third or fourth-place finish in Iowa early next year, according to nearly a dozen senior Democrats in the state who attribute it to what they see as a poorly organized operation that has failed to engage with voters and party leaders.

With fewer than 100 days until the Feb. 3 caucuses, Biden is failing to spend the time with small groups of voters and party officials that Iowans expect and his campaign’s outreach has been largely ineffective, according to 11 senior Democrats in the state. They worry that could send Biden to a crippling loss behind Elizabeth Warren and Pete Buttigieg, who have highly organized campaigns in Iowa, said the Democrats, most of whom spoke on condition of anonymity to speak candidly about the campaign.
They know the God-Emperor would destroy him, so they want him out of the race as soon as possible. Warren is the media's candidate; they'll disqualify Buttigieg as soon as he actually looks viable because there is no way they want him as the actual nominee.

For Democrats, the gay candidate has become the equivalent of the black candidate for Republicans. Everyone feels good about supporting him in the early going, and everyone knows perfectly well that he will never be the nominee.

AH:Q #2 on Bounding Into Comics

Bounding Into Comics covers the release of Alt-Hero: Q #2: Not Dead Enough, which is now available on Amazon and Kindle Unlimited.

Arkhaven Comics publisher Vox Day announced Chuck Dixon and Helix Haze’s Alt-Hero: Q #2 is now on sale.

Alt-Hero Q “explores the incredible QAnon phenomenon that is sweeping the planet.” The story takes place in the world of Alt-Hero and stars federal agent Roland Dane.

Dixon described the series to us last September:

“What we’re presenting is an action/thriller hero that I’m really excited to be creating. We’ll be inserting him into stories of global cabals and dark conspiracies that threaten not only world peace but the basic human rights of the individual. Our guy, Roland Dane, is an experienced law enforcement professional who has to drop out of the system to act as an operative for the mysterious organization he knows only as Q. Roland is a little rough around the edges and his methods are often direct but he’s one man trying to make a difference for all of us.”

The series was originally crowdfunded on IndieGoGo and trended #1 on the crowdfunding website when it first launched.

You know Star Wars is dead

When even the guys who managed to ruin A Game of Thrones in the final season are walking away from the Devil Mouse and Star Wars in favor of riding a debt-laden Netflix down into the ground:
David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, the duo who in 2011 launched the singular screen sensation known as Game of Thrones, have walked away from their much-publicized deal with Disney’s Lucasfilm to launch a feature film trilogy in 2022. Benioff and Weiss were supposed to usher in the post-Skywalkera era of the Star Wars brand with a 2022 new-start story that would stake out a new frontier for the era-defining cinema brand created by George Lucas.
Think about how much damage the Devil Mouse has done to the Star Wars brand in just a few short years. It's really astonishing to observe the extent to which the corporate cancer of social justice convergence destroys the value of even the most marketable brands.

Yes, Virginia, there is a Deep State

Except it isn't winning its war on the God-Emperor:
The New York Times on Thursday published a remarkable piece that essentially acknowledged the existence of an American “deep state” and its implacable hostility to Donald Trump. The Times writers (fully five on the byline: Peter Baker, Lara Jakes, Julian E. Barnes, Sharon LaFraniere, and Edward Wong) certainly don’t decry the existence of this deep state, as so many conservatives and Trump supporters do. Nor do they refrain from the kinds of value-charged digs and asides against Trump that have illuminated the paper’s consistent bias against the president from the beginning.

But they do portray the current impeachment drama as the likely denouement of a struggle between the outsider Trump and the insider administrative forces of government. In so doing, they implicitly give support to those who have argued that American foreign policy has become the almost exclusive domain of unelected bureaucrats impervious to the views of elected officials—even presidents—who may harbor outlooks different from their own.

This is a big deal because, even in today’s highly charged political environment, with a sitting president under constant guerrilla attack, few have been willing to acknowledge any such deep state phenomenon. When in the spring of 2018, The National Interest asked 12 presumed experts—historians, writers, former government officials, and think tank mavens—to weigh in on whether there was in fact such a thing as a deep state, eight said no, two waffled with a “sort of” response, and only two said yes. Former Colorado senator Gary Hart made fun of the whole concept, warning of “sly devils meeting in the furnace room after hours, passing out assignments for subverting the current administration.”

But now the Times’ Baker et al weigh in with an analysis saying that, yes, Trump has been battling something that some see as a deep state, and the deep state is winning. The headline: “Trump’s War on the ‘Deep State’ Turns Against Him.”
The devils wouldn't be showing themselves if they were winning. The fact that they are doing so is actually a sign of the complete opposite.

900 percent and rising

The Junior Classics campaign is on a roll.

The purpose of The Junior Classics is to provide, in ten volumes containing about five thousand pages, a classified collection of tales, stories, and poems, both ancient and modern, suitable for boys and girls of from six to sixteen years of age. The boy or girl who becomes familiar with the charming tales and poems in this collection will have gained a knowledge of literature and history that will be of high value in other school and home work. Here are the real elements of imaginative narration, poetry, and ethics, which should enter into the education of every child.

This collection, carefully used by parents and teachers with due reference to individual tastes and needs, will help many children enjoy good literature. It will inspire them with a love of good reading, which is the best possible result of any elementary education. The child himself should be encouraged to make his own selections from this large and varied collection, the child's enjoyment being the object in view. A real and lasting interest in literature or in scholarship is only to be developed through the individual's enjoyment of his mental occupations.

Ridicule is rhetoric

Because apparently the stories told by the McMartin daycare kids were supported by the evidence after all:
If the name McMartin Preschool rings a bell, it's because the school gained infamy as ground zero for the child abuse case that kicked off the so-called Satanic Panic.

360 children were alleged to have been abused at McMartin daycare. Many of the children claimed that they'd been subjected to sexual and satanic ritual abuse in a system of tunnels under the school. When investigators declared that excavations turned up nothing, the claim of secret tunnels became a byword for spurious ritual abuse claims.

Now, after a generation of ridicule, the FBI has confirmed the tunnels' existence, vindicating the children's testimony.
The world is not only more evil than you believe, it is more evil than you probably imagine. We may be IN it, but we most certainly do not want to be OF it.

Cameras in the can

Apparently there are cameras in airplane bathrooms. What is wrong with these people?
A Southwest Airlines flight attendant says two pilots live streamed video from a hidden camera in a commercial airliner's lavatory to an iPad in the cockpit, a lawsuit says. The alleged incident happened February 27, 2017, while Renee Steinaker was working on Flight 1088 from Pittsburgh to Phoenix, according to the complaint that Steinaker and her husband, David Steinaker, filed against the airline and the pilots.

About two and a half hours into the flight, Capt. Terry Graham asked for a flight attendant to come to the cockpit so that he could leave to use the restroom, the complaint says. Airline policy requires that two crew members are in the cockpit at all times, the complaint says.

After Steinaker arrived and Graham left, Steinaker spotted an iPad in the plane's cockpit that appeared to be streaming live video of the pilot inside an airplane lavatory, the lawsuit said. When the flight attendant asked the co-pilot, Ryan Russell, if the iPad was streaming video from the lavatory, he said the camera was part of a "new security and top secret security measure that had been installed in the lavatories of all Southwest Airlines' 737-800 planes," the document alleges.
"Southwest does not place cameras in the lavatories of our aircraft." That's the official Southwest line and it might even be true. But even if it is true, that doesn't mean that someone else, such as a federal agency, doesn't put them there.

Professionally inept

One of the reasons why the converged media companies have been running roughshod over those they've targeted for deplatforming is that their victims are afraid to fight back. But if you have, or are, or can find, a competent lawyer who doesn't play the usual lawyer's game of waiting until the last possible minute to submit some boilerplate that he plans to revise later, you'll likely be well ahead of the opposition.
Law firm mistakes number of days in the month, so lawyer files notice of appeal one day after actual deadline. Court dismisses appeal and awards fees.
They even have cute professional jargon for it: calendar the deadline. This sort of thing happens all the time. I've personally witnessed it and something similar happened in the Vic Mignogna case. Most lawyers, even very highly credentialed lawyers from very expensive law firms, take a disturbingly blase approach to deadlines, mostly because the established case law permits them to redefine clearly fixed time frames as indefinite periods that are entirely at the judge's discretion.

Of course, the fact that it is reprehensibly stupid to proactively rely upon the judge being lax about deadlines never occurs to them. We are always careful to prepare our filings as soon as possible, and to file them several days ahead of time, in order to not provide a potentially adversarial judge an excuse to rule against us. Never wait until the last minute!

And on a not-unrelated note, the VFM, the Rubble-bouncers, and the Reprehensibles should be prepared to act very quickly when the Legion's next campaign is announced tonight around 6:30 PM Eastern. I'll send out emails, put up a post, and do a Darkstream once the link is live. The amount is irrelevant, as the objective is to establish standing for as many of you as possible. Now, don't play Smart Boy and demonstrate how much you know about what's going on here in the comments, but do feel free to indicate if you're in on this one.

I don't need the attention, Mike

Reality is hard when you're an SJW. From the comments:

Don't try to pin him on me. This kind of lede is practically an announcement that -- just like Camestros -- you pull the name of my blog into your disputes to generate attention. For shame.
- Mike Glyer, File 770

While Mike certainly isn't to blame for Camestros's foot-shooting antics, Camestros is part of the File 770 community and that serves as a useful identifier for those who have no idea who he is or why he's nipping at my ankles. I would think it is readily apparent that I have absolutely zero need to generate attention these days; to the contrary, I methodically refuse every single request for interviews, stories, appearances and "perspective" from the mainstream media, the Internet media, and the YouTubers alike.

Wait, I did answer a few questions from someone connected to the Unz Review the other day, but then, I make exceptions for people with whom I am working....

I don't blame the SF-SJWs for failing to grasp how much bigger Unauthorized is than their entire community at this point, since it's outside their area of interest, but sooner or later, they're going to be confronted with what is almost certainly going to strike them as a very ugly reality. This blog alone is much closer to Tor.com's traffic than to File 770's, and that doesn't include the YouTube viewers or UATV viewers.

The end of asset forfeiture

It's remarkable that it has taken this long for a court to find it unconstitutional:
Civil asset forfeiture has been in the crosshairs across the country for years now because it allows police and prosecutors to declare that any money or property owned by a suspect is "connected" to a crime, seize it, and then ultimately keep it for themselves. And because this is a civil process, police and prosecutors can do this without having to convict anybody. It's the assets that are considered the defendants (in this case, the respondent is actually the $20,771 that Horry County wants to seize from a man charged with trafficking cocaine), prosecutors typically have a lower threshold to make their case than "beyond a reasonable doubt," and people who are pulled into these forfeiture cases don't have access to public defenders and have to fund their own lawyers.

The end result: Police trying to keep whatever they can grab off anybody they arrest, claiming it's all proceeds or property connected to criminal activities, and using it to line their own pockets. This incentivizes police to look for people who have assets that can be seized. Local newspapers in South Carolina teamed up to investigate the extent of abuses and discovered police agencies across the state had seized more than $17 million in assets across three years. In one-fifth of the cases, nobody was charged or even arrested for a crime.

Judge John notes all of these problems in a decisive ruling that smacks down the practice of civil asset forfeiture. In his 15-page opinion, he writes that South Carolina's forfeiture practice violate both the U.S. Constitution and the state's because the statutes "(1) place the burden on the property owner to prove their innocence, (2) unconstitutionally institutionally incentivizes forfeiture officials to prosecute forfeiture actions, and (3) do not mandate judicial review or judicial authorization prior to or subsequent to the seizure." He also notes that the statutes violate citizens' Eighth Amendment protections against excessive fines.
It's a good start. Now let's get a conclusive Supreme Court decision setting precedent on the topic. And a federal law banning it.

Simmons's Law

I was wondering why the otherwise excellent 1958 Junior Classics, on which I was raised, are so de-Christianized and de-masculinized in comparison with the 1918 edition. Then I looked a little closer at the title pages of the 1958 edition. At the front of each and every volume was this:

The JUNIOR CLASSICS
Edited by MABEL WILLIAMS and MARCIA DALPHIN

"The lesson, as always, is this: women ruin everything."
- The Sports Guy aka Bill Simmons

The 2020 edition is therefore a restoration will make the Junior Classics great again. In addition to restoring the missing 1918 elements, we will be adding one (1) new classic of our own selection per volume. For example, to Volume 10: The Poetry Book, we will add my favorite poem, a darkly elegaic masterpiece by the inimitable Lord Byron.

Lines Inscribed Upon a Cup Formed from a Skull

Start not - nor deem my spirit fled;
In me behold the only skull
From which, unlike a living head,
Whatever flows is never dull.

I lived, I loved, I quaffed, like thee:
I died: let earth my bones resign;
Fill up - thou canst not injure me;
The worm hath fouler lips than thine.

Better to hold the sparkling grape,
Than nurse the earth-worm's slimy brood;
And circle in the goblet's shape
The drink of gods, than reptile's food.

Where once my wit, perchance, hath shone,
In aid of others' let me shine;
And when, alas! our brains are gone,
What nobler substitute than wine?

Quaff while thou canst: another race,
When thou and thine, like me, are sped,
May rescue thee from earth's embrace,
And rhyme and revel with the dead.

Why not? since through life's little day
Our heads such sad effects produce;
Redeemed from worms and wasting clay,
This chance is theirs, to be of use.

It may interest you to know that this will NOT be the only Byron work to appear in Volume 10, which is otherwise heavy on Blake, Wordsworth, Shakespeare, Keats, and Longfellow.

Mailvox: spotting quality

One of the more inept File 770ers - which is saying something - is Camestros Fappletron. His Gamma backside is still burning from the spanking he received here in 2016 after he tried to pose as a Master of Rhetoric and only succeeded in demonstrating that he simply did not understand Aristotle's distinction between rhetoric and dialectic.

So, it's more than a little amusing to note that he's been trying to retroactively rectify the situation for years, as Samuel Collingwood Smith noted.

Earlier today, a leftist left a negative comment on a review I did in 2016 of Vox Day’s “A Throne of Bones”. They ended by linking to a hatepost claiming the positive Amazon reviews were deceptive based on an analysis by a site called Fakepost.com from 2017. Because, of course, the accuracy of a self-appointed analysis site using an unpublished algorithm is beyond question..

I had no idea what he was talking about, because of course I pay absolutely no attention to Camestros or his incessant anklebiting. But apparently, back in 2017, File 770's Master of Rhetoric decided to prove that many of the 332 reviews of A Throne of Bones, which average 4.5 stars, are fake.
I previously pointed to an article on people manipulating Amazon rankings for their books, today there is a bigger brouhaha on whether somebody has manipulated the New York Time bestseller list. The method used (if true) isn’t new and political books have been prone to this approach before i.e. buy lots of the book from the right bookshops and head up the rankings.

One thing new to me from those articles was this site: http://fakespot.com/about It claims to be a site that will analyse reviews on sites like Amazon and Yelp and then rate the reviews in terms of how “fake” they seem to be. The mechanism looks at reviewers and review content and looks for relations with other reviews, and also rates reviewers who only ever give positive reviews lower. Now, I don’t know if their methods are sound or reliable, so take the rest of this with a pinch of salt for the time being.

Time to plug some things into their machine but what! Steve J No-Relation Wright has very bravely volunteered to start reading Vox Day’s epic fantasy book because it was available for $0 ( https://stevejwright.wordpress.com/2017/08/23/a-throne-of-bones-by-vox-day-preamble-on-managing-expectations/ ) and so why not see what Fakespot has to say about “Throne of Bones”
Sadly for the ever-inept Fappletron, he didn't bother checking Fakepost to confirm that its initial analysis still held true, as Mr. Smith informs us.

However, when I requested a re-analysis, the book listing now gets an ‘A’
  • Fakespot Review Grade A
  • Our engine has profiled the reviewer patterns and has determined that there is minimal deception involved.
  • Our engine has determined that the review content quality is high and informative.
  • Our engine has discovered that over 90% high quality reviews are present.
  • This product had a total of 332 reviews as of our last analysis date on Oct 27 2019.
Nor is ATOB alone in this regard. The 100 reviews of ASOS are also graded A, whereas the 645 reviews of SJWs Always Lie are only graded B, most likely due to the 37 mostly-fake one-star reviews. Ironically, Fappletron has only managed to demonstrate that the higher-rated my books are, the more likely those reviews of those books are to be genuine.
