Neil Gaiman is a massive prick

As, obviously enough, his ex-wife-to-be figured out before the rest of us:
Good Omens author Neil Gaiman has sparked outrage after he travelled 11,000 miles from New Zealand to the Isle of Skye so he and his wife could get 'some space' from each other.

The fantasy writer, 59, took to his blog on Thursday to describe his trip halfway  around the world from Auckland after he and singer Amanda Palmer hit a 'rough place' amid the coronavirus lockdown.

'Hullo from Scotland, where I am in rural lockdown on my own,' Gaiman wrote. 'I'm half a world away from Amanda and [my son] Ash, and missing both of them a lot.'

He explained he had been living in New Zealand with Palmer and his son Ash, four, until two weeks ago, when the pair 'agreed that we needed to give each other some space' and he boarded a flight to London.

The pair, however, confirmed in a letter shared beneath the blog that they are 'not getting divorced,' and will 'sort out our marriage in private.'

Gaiman said he borrowed a spare car from a friend after arriving in the UK and began the 600-mile drive north to his second home in Skye - despite Scottish officials urging Britons to stop travelling to the Islands.

'What is it about people, when they know we are in the middle of the lockdown, that they think they can come here from the other side of the planet, in turn endangering local people from exposure to this infection that they could have picked up at any step of the way?' local MP Ian Blackford added, according to the Sunday Times. 'To descend on this island at this time, when we have a serious outbreak, which has resulted in such tragic circumstances — it pays scant respect to the families of the bereaved and the people who live here.'
What a solipsistic retard. Keep in mind, these are exactly the sort of people that SJWs revere. It wouldn't surprise me in the least to learn that Gaiman and his wife were previously lecturing people on the vital importance of staying home and staying safe.

Could he have come up with a name for his son that was more perfectly on-brand than Ash from Evil Dead? Poor kid's got to grow up as an accessory to some pensioner with dyed hair and a black leather jacket.
Is there something that happened in the early 80's that makes his type draw all their cultural markers from it? No matter how young or old they are, it's always the same handful of movies.

Blogger rikjames.313 May 17, 2020 10:04 AM

I read one of his books in a book club. Technically gifted writer, but an overtone of an annoying type of sarcasm and main characters being secretly smarter/more powerful than everyone else (but the other characters are too dense to notice).

Even given my limited exposure to him, this is what I would expect.

However, unless they were faking for each other, the professional women in the club liked it and started watching his TV show and read his other books.

Blogger borsabil May 17, 2020 10:04 AM

Look at his Twitter and see the utter lack of shame and personal honour. Evil Drumpf supporters ignoring the 'science' and protesting lock downs because, get this, they want to work and feed their families. Racist scum.

Also how the fuck did he get to fly to the other side of the planet to his holiday home when I can't sit on a park bench without risking arrest? I know for a fact that New Zealand have instituted a complete travel ban, in and out, with very few exceptions. One rule for them another for the rest of us.

Why didn't he go to Wisconsin? He did all his best work there. They are also lifting the ban in Wisconson, so he would be happy.

Both of their Infogalatic pages are pretty enlightening.
He's a self centered secular jew and she's a free loving weirdo that talks about """feminist issues""".
It's almost too cliche to even be real.

I understand that the product must sometimes need be separate from the producer but I cannot stand to see, hear or read what Gaiman says and therefore all of his fiction carries that taint.

There are many classic books with better characters and higher ideals than Gaiman. He's kind of like an atheist CS Lewis.

Blogger Daniel May 17, 2020 11:20 AM

What? Not the pop autobiography of Duran Duran? Neil Gammaman would never blow up his family for the chaste, reserved and loyal young maiden Amanda Fucking Palmer, only to need more than 8,000 square feet of social distancing from the bonny lass?

The man has bright line standards after all!

Blogger Damelon Brinn May 17, 2020 11:27 AM

Is there something that happened in the early 80's that makes his type draw all their cultural markers from it?

Well, the 80s were awesome. But seriously, by then the schools and media weren't passing down anything from prior to the Boomers. We weren't taught the classics, so we weren't going to draw from Shakespeare or the Iliad. So you could be into 80s music, movies, etc., or into Boomer stuff from the 60s/70s. Pretty easy choice.

Ash is a cool name for an offbeat hero in a movie. Not so much for a kid who has to live with it. But these people don't live in the real world, so it's no wonder they can't tell the difference.

Physiognomy.

Wouldn't be the first case of "disguised in print".

A father of a 4 year old abandons his wife and child to fly to the other side of the world during a global pandemic, endangering everyone along the way, so he can get personal space. Somehow this is justifiable because he is a creative type of person, and everyone should know that this sort of nonsense is what you can get away with if you entertain enough people.

I strongly suspect that he is spiralling right now about how this will be an amazing creative period for him and, somehow, it will more than make up for his poor behavior, bad marriage, and terrible parenting.

Gaiman is the second listed author of "Good Omens," after the great Terry Pratchett. Gaiman likes to take small, safe shots at the culture he feeds on. It is pretty obvious if one compares "American Gods" with "Anansi Boys."

Blogger Dos Voltz May 17, 2020 1:48 PM

You are correct, Neil Gaiman is a massive prick.

I had to check out Amanda Palmer on Infogalactic though. Who the hell is this, I wondered?

Oh - I see. It's Amanda Fucking Palmer! I get it now. Jeez, what a massive cunt! So I guess the two deserve each other.

In fact, she is such a horrible cunt that I have to acknowledge that I recognized that a tiny spark of compassion (infinitesimally small) might have erupted in my small black heart...for Neil Gaiman.

I think he just got redpilled just a little bit, and realized that the only refuge away from a horrible cunt and militant feminist is to be on the other side of the (fucking) planet.

Of course we all could've told him that but bitchez don't listen.

@9- Wow. Remember when writers had pretensions of manliness, or at least bad-boyness? What do we call the pose struck by Neil Gaiman, blogger?

Definitely teenager stuck in the adult world.

Capitalizes words thusly: "Really Cool Secret Meeting."

Acting stupider than he is ("I do not really have a lot of fixing things knowledge.") (He likes the word "really," and is a professional writer by the way.)

Corporations throw money at him.

References something brought up parenthetically in the main text like a jokey jokester who doesn't know how to write lol omg whatever.

Occasionally writes in short, straightforward sentences to remind you he's a modren writer.

In re Amanda Palmer:

Having a disgusting harpy wife is another Gamma tell. That's one reason I suspect Bill Clinton is actually a King Gamma rather than an Alpha. Along with his taste in the other women he got with.

Re: the ball and chain - jokes aside, we all know anybody with a shred of sense would never have wifed up that thing in the first instance. I hope he gets deported from Skye, or at least locked up in the local gaol for being a toss bag.

How many houses does the fucker have anyway, and why were they in NZ? Trying to sit out the apocalypse with the other special classes?

Blogger Careless Whisper May 17, 2020 3:35 PM

I always suspected that Gaiman worked something lucrative out with someone or other to make his Harry Potter clone from 1993 vanish quietly and amicably during the Rowling Ascendency. He sure did seem take off right around then, which I thought was surprising, considering his rocket seemed to run out of gas after the Sandman ran its course. By rights he's a fluke, a flash in the pan, a lightweight. Favors from friends are what keep his name in the news.

Blogger Amethyst Dominica May 17, 2020 3:49 PM

Isn't Amanda Palmer the harpy who made a song about having an abortion? If she's one of those "listen to the government, stay in lockdown types", then it's pretty funny that she'd now cry for the government to interfere in people's lives when before she was all "we have the right to do what we want with our own bodies. Keep the government out of our wombs!"

"Having a disgusting harpy wife is another Gamma tell. That's one reason I suspect Bill Clinton is actually a King Gamma rather than an Alpha."

Neither. Clinton's a LAMBDA.

The whole "he's such a womanizer!" story by the press is and always has been a massive operation to create a multitude of synthetic beards.

Politically powerful heterosexual men do not have an unbroken series of haggard dogs as "conquests." And the fact that many allowed themselves into compromising circumstances and then complained indicates "fag hags."

Once you understand those facts, everything around Clinton suddenly makes more sense (like why, out of the blue, he issued the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy to the armed forces. (Likewise why obviously nowhere close to heterosexual Obama called Don't Ask, Don't Tell "oppressive" and (illegally) voided ALL regulations for sexual-identity problems while ordering tranny-accomodation policies (despite no act of Congress to make it legal).

Blogger Silly but True May 17, 2020 4:12 PM

So, reading between the lines: Amanda finally got tired of “Kneel Gayman” watching her be serviced by Ash’s father?

Blogger Damelon Brinn May 17, 2020 4:16 PM

it's pretty funny that she'd now cry for the government to interfere in people's lives

A liberal co-worker insists that the stay-at-home orders and mask requirements are the only thing keeping new cases at near-zero in our rural county, even when I point out that cities like Chicago have those things too and the virus keeps spreading there. It's so tiresome, because if we had a Democrat president urging a return to work and a Republican governor writing stay-at-home orders, he'd be the first one screaming about fascism and civil rights. It's always who/whom, always.

Oh, absolutely. I think he'd screw pigs if they weren't recognizably male. Yet he's obviously too intimidated to have scandals with very attractive women, as he could theoretically do without anti-game.

I can't denounce him because I myself travelled 45 minutes away to go to a lockdown protest in NYS. It was really fun, seeing the rage of the masked passer-bys was worth the trip!

Blogger sammibandit May 17, 2020 10:02 PM

You travelled a couple towns over. 45 minutes for me is two towns over NESW by car. I assume you were driving.

This guy went from one pole to another and since this story is from his camp I'm assuming the spare car yarn is 100% synthetic and he stole it.

I've never heard that Clinton was queer, whereas I do understand that both Shrub and Zero were. That would mean that until Trump came along, our last straight President was what, Bush senior? Reagan?

Blogger Akulkis May 18, 2020 6:15 AM

Facial features alone tell us that Chelsea's father is Web Hubbel, not Bill Clinton.

And the Obama "daughters" were literally borrowed from some financial supporter in Chicago. This is why they had no presence before Obama got to the federal level, and why they've disappeared since then. ALL previous former presidents' children have continued to attract press attention for some decades after moving out of the Whitehouse. One of the Bush-44 girls was in the national news just last month (something not worth remembering about her and the crazy McStain daughter -- the one who was lashing out at Trump at McStain's funeral [because he had daddy executed, but couldn't talk about it directly, because that would bring up his treason for all the world to talk about.])

Shrub didn't have to borrow children, so at least he had that going for him.

he's just acting like a classical era Greek or a modern day Turk.

"obligate homosexual" is yet another lie concocted to serve the political purposes of the Left ... otherwise, fags wouldn't have been having sex with women in order to spread AIDS amongst the hetero population in the 1980s and 90s.

Elon and Grimes seems a similar case.

What is it about beta cucks having so much money and power these days, marrying "strong independent women" and being miserable? (Zuck, Gates, Bezos, Elon, Gaiman)

If I had that kind of money, I would get me a better woman.

Watching his testicles retract after he called NK Jemima's (or whatever her name is) latest novel "Lovecraftian" in an interview and she went off on him was a sight to behold. You'd think being a Scientologist all those years would've at least toughened him up to verbal abuse. Apparently not. Full Simp-mode.
