No rest for the wicked

Episode 7 of Alt★Hero, No Rest for the Wicked, is now live on Webtoons. As you'll see, we're sticking with the European storyline that follows the characters introduced in the first issue rather than following the order in which the issues were released.

Captain Europa is the ultimate embodiment of the moral busybody that C.S. Lewis warned us all about.

Sadly, I could easily see Superman doing this exact same thing.

Good choice. Although the phased approach is a better and more complex "build" for the reader, straight storylines are right for episodes.

What is most interesting is that the book script was built to be this flexible.

Will this be available as hard copy eventually?

It already is, Andy. You can buy the omnibus here.

How on earth did IDW, DC, Marvel etc. All fail to match this format?
Webtoons has hit the mobile format spot on.
Really enjoying Alt hero again!

Too busy making the Punisher trans or whatever

This is the right decision for Webtoons presentation in a format that presents 20 or so panels rather than 20 or so pages per release, otherwise the pacing becomes too schizophrenic.

This episode in particular showcases the vertical Webtoons format perfectly: it's a strong opening 6 or 7 panels of beautiful art, including the introduction of Captain Europa which is as high-quality production comic art as you'll see anywhere.

Judging by how their artists behave I wouldn't be surprised they don't even know Webtoons exists. They live in a literal bubble, all thinking things have to be done a certain way. They're not adverse to change but don't seek it either.

Webtoons and the like is the future of the comics medium. Publish snippets at zero publication cost, test out ideas with the public, when something sticks create a crowdfunding campaign and deliver a superior refined product.

I enjoy that Cap Europa is not a lecher. Making a villain girl hungry is an easy out to make them 'eeeeevil' so it's fun to see that he's admirable in at least a few senses.

Making a villain girl hungry is an easy out

It's also the gamma writer letting his secret freak flag fly.
