The return of the yellow press

The former president of CBS News encourages the mainstream media to give up its pretense of balance and impartiality:
There’s in all probability no technique to seal the hole between the media and a big phase of the general public. The media likes what it’s doing. Admires it. Celebrates it. There isn’t any private, skilled or monetary cause to vary. If something, the hole will develop. In the end, the media finds the “deplorables” deplorable.

Dan Abrams, ABC’s chief legal-affairs anchor and founding father of the web site Mediaite, has a novel however helpful concept for the media—candor. Chatting with the matter at February’s Rancho Mirage Writers Pageant, Mr. Abrams mentioned “I feel the very first thing that may assist . . . is to confess . . . that the individuals within the media are left of heart.”

It might be pleasant if a writer, an editor, a reporter, would simply say: Sure, I’m left of heart! I’m pleased with it. I feel our reporting is correct. It finest serves the general public. And the credibility of the media. So there!

Publications open about their bias would possibly really feel freer to give attention to the specifics: story choice, presentation, info, equity, stability. Not devoid of subtlety for certain, however manageable.
Honesty about their obvious political leanings would be preferable, without question. I doubt it will make all that much difference, however, since they're not fooling anyone except perhaps Baby Boomers who haven't been paying any attention since 1978.

Labeling much of their information production as "opinions" would have saved us a lot of heartache and angst.

Blogger KBuff May 26, 2020 8:11 AM

Something like that. Apparently, the editorial originated at the WSJ. Fox News provides a much more intelligible version of the first portion at its site.

"bias"

The fraud engines of the "free press" are rabidly devout fantatics of any and every mystical magical notion that maximally exterminates Christendom.

Their words and phrases they either commandeer or coin demonstrate this rather clearly. Only through a near century of almost as fanatical submissiveness by the Candy Con movement is the peasantry now so habituated to such gaslighting that the farse takes residence behind our own eyeballs.

At some point in this progressive degeneracy, one side will realize the only move left is to genuinely "embrace" that "diveristy" and engage in some sort of necklacing of the other side, thereby honoring the apparent patron saint of this new Judeo-Christendom, Nelson Mandela.

This wouldnt change anything. The people that actually read and believe the shlock coming from the MSM think its actual fact, and no disclaimers saying "these are opinions" would change their beliefs.

Meanwhile, anyone who DOESNT read MSM already knows it's all a bunch of lugenpresse, lies, slander, and opinions, the disclaimer is already there in their minds.

This is just a psyop: get the press to make that disclaimer, so whenever someone points out their lies, they can say "it's just an opinion! You cant sue me for libel and slander!"

Boy are they going to be upset when they learn that libel has nothing to do with "opinion." Your "opinion" causes reputational or business damage, and it's false, you're getting sued.

They certainly appear to be shepherds, driving their flocks, day and night. By tradition and practice, we expect them to take the flock to better pasture and water, and protect them from wolves and rustlers. But aside from these acts, we (the sheep) cannot tell the difference until it is too late. Are the shepherds really the rustlers, or are they here to feed us to the wolves? Will the real shepherds arrive later?

Blogger Akulkis May 26, 2020 9:44 AM

Even more honest would be to come out and admit that they're all Jewish leftists.

Blogger Tars Tarkas May 26, 2020 9:59 AM

Saying they have a liberal bias is giving them way too much credit. The media is primarily a progressive Maoist institution of public denouncements and struggle sessions. They are also highly partisan and because of their Maoist roots are incapable of being critical of any of the magical people like Obama and Stacy Abrams. As if this wasn't bad enough, they are insufferably smug and self-righteous. But all of this is in the political realm.

But they are just as bad at their so-called jobs when it comes to any other subject. They will re-print press releases as so-called news and uncritically repeat whatever BS they are told to print by their masters. Whether they are lazy, corrupt or incompetent is really besides the point as the results are the same.
About 95% of them should arrested, tried and hung.

It is just so much more obvious now in the WORDING they use, peppered with emotional trigger verbiage to make the NPC audience visualize Trump raging or a straight white male professor screaming racist vulgarities at his innocent female class etc.

I know several examples, but one in particular, who are still swayed by MSM insanity. He's an Xer, he works in manufacturing, his kids were Home Schooled at least through 8th grade with two of the four through High School. He has three daughters and one son. He is not a typical Gamma, yet obviously has some of the traits, also mainly Delta traits, as in hard worker, who gets things done without drama. He makes a good wage, and is a solid steady worker.

His wife, who got to stay at home and home school the kids, went back to college as soon as the kids got through High School level. They are divorced, and she has gone the full extreme switch over to a tattooed, full-left lesbo. His kids still mostly believe in the various globalist propaganda. They all Hate Trump, including the guy I'm talking about.

This fella thinks of himself as 'Conservative' and still thinks the Bushes are great, but wouldn't look at himself as a Neocon. If nailed down, he would have issues with the wars the Neocons started, but he would push that away, as he wouldn't want to examine his thoughts too deep.

There are more of this type than many think, and boy, the future is going to be hard for them to grasp with any handle. This guy has a couple of friends that lightly prod his blinders from time to time, then he goes home, talks to his kids, goes to his corporate job, and turns on TV. People like him do have Blinders, and there is a terror of the Blinders being removed. They fear being isolated from their children and everything important to them.

OTOH, there are examples of people that are more awake and on track then I would have expected from them.

Right.

And since this is the problem in a nutshell, the GE and his people have no choice but to go after them full bore, guns blazing, at every opportunity. Unless you are constantly discrediting them, they will dominate the discussion.

Even more important, they will sway minds.

Tim Groseclose at UCLA had done a methodical statistical analysis of why that is the case.

https://www.amazon.com/product-reviews/0312555938/ref=acr_dp_hist_1?ie=UTF8&filterByStar=one_star&reviewerType=all_reviews#reviews-filter-bar

Now, he's been attacked for using slippery statistical assumption, but he is the only economist/social scientist that has taken a whack at quantifying the political and electoral impact the leftist media has.

But common sense tells you that it is significant, to the point of swaying elections, and in the wrong way.

Yes. That, and this:

Briefly stated, the Gell-Mann Amnesia effect is as follows. You open the newspaper to an article on some subject you know well. In Murray's case, physics. In mine, show business. You read the article and see the journalist has absolutely no understanding of either the facts or the issues. Often, the article is so wrong it actually presents the story backward—reversing cause and effect. I call these the "wet streets cause rain" stories. Paper's full of them.
In any case, you read with exasperation or amusement the multiple errors in a story, and then turn the page to national or international affairs, and read as if the rest of the newspaper was somehow more accurate about Palestine than the baloney you just read. You turn the page, and forget what you know.”

Interactive infotainment is the way forward. Let consumers register and make their preferences known so default setting is toggled, which can be manually selected in-process.

This way, a given news report, Mike Flynn for example, could be skewed that he is a Russian cutout traitor to the US, that he was an inadvertent victim of an unfortunately predicated but legitimate counterintelligence operation, or that he is a national hero sent by God almighty to plot to destroy the swamp in a complicated counter-counter-intel operation against malevolent forces of the US government.

Look, games have been able to have a [Good/Light Side], [Evil/Dark Side], [Neutral/profiteer] option for Player-character interactions with NPCs for several decades now. Our media's political entertainment coverage should long have evolved to include such role-playing features with respect to their reported truths.

I really like John Mark and his willingness to openly talk about revolution in the US, but Doolittle is an insufferable gamma twat.

John Mark is most likely a delta, possibly a beta, and he really wants something to point to and say "here, this is the plan". I fully understand his desire for this, and wish other more qualified people would follow this approach. But Doolittle ain't it. It's very hard to get the men of action involved if you are vague and have no concrete vision, which is why John Mark latched on to Doolittle. He always says "If not propertarianism, then what exactly is your plan?" to anyone who objects. I sympathize.

The deltas/soldiers want a concrete plan that they can confidently act on. Someone else please give them one.

A thought on the media and the encroachment of Islam on Western culture. Our Constitution and free press was build on the Christian and Western Civilization underpinning of evidence, truth, and honesty in a relatively high trust society (which Christianity fosters). However, central to Islam is the concept of Taqiyya, which has commonly been reduced to the idea "that lying to advance Islam is acceptable". That is an over simplification and possible distortion, but it what most people believe. It is argued that this deceit is for the greater good. I believe our liberal media has adopted that premise as their operating principle and applies it liberally to "get Trump" or anyone who stands against their progressive "religious" belief system. And, since this is for the "greater good" it is therefore permissible, even desirable. Those who do so have completely abandoned their Christian, Western Civilization heritage and foundations. Those who haven't are cowed into submission or they will be destroyed.

Its as if evil people have been allowed to take over all the MSM newsrooms, with the exception of Fox.

I cannot get over the Ahmaud Aubrey (a name that rhymes with "armed robbery) being depicted over and over as "black man out jogging hunted by white men". The story is brought up over and over again. Three people have been charged with murder.

There have been three quick cases in succession of blacks truly out 'hunting' whites. Two have taken place in Nashville. One seen officer Darrell Osment out walking his dog, out of uniform and off duty, say hello to a stranger driving by. The stranger William Johnson Jr (who is black), let Osment pass and that turned around and shot him. He shot at him again when he was on the ground. Johnson drives off while the still-living Osment runs to a house nearby and gives a description to the police. The police catch up with Johnson and a gunfight ensues. Johnson lost. Why isn't this national news? https://www.newschannel5.com/news/investigation-closes-i-440-near-i-65-in-nashville

A white couple from Brentwood, Tn, Kevin and LeAnn Craft (Brentwood means pretty wealthy folks) in a storage shed facility downtown get attacked by a machete-wielding black man named Kevin Edwards. He hacks them up badly. They are at Vanderbilt hospital fighting for their lives. This gets slightly picked up by a few outlets, but nothing like old Ahmed Aubery.

Finally a white couple in their mid-80s in Maryland get shot and killed by a
29 year old black man, Sheldon D. Francis, white visiting their son's grave in Delaware. Many of the early news reports omitted their race. The police had a long gun fight with Francis (a few hours if memory serves). No big deal in the national news.

Who was really being "hunted" in the 4 stories above? Who was really "innocent"? Who picks "whats news" and what is omitted even when they pick it (the races of the people involved when it doesn't fit the narrative)?Officer Darrell Osment is still alive. The Crafts are still fighting for their lives with their machete-wounds. The elderly couple in Delaware are dead. One was a cop and the couple obviously was upper middle class (there are no affordable homes in Brentwood folks, they had money). This could be you getting memory-holed by the media.

The news "pickers" are despicable. They need to be replaced. Its as if we have an "occupation" media from an invading power and we are the conquered people that they get to propagandize. What I want to know is why aren't wealthy whites doing something about this? Threats of lawfare? People like Don Lemon, Rachel Maddow, and Joe Scarborough are nutty and should be yanked off television. A sane country would not suffer them bringing the news.

This guy actually believes the cops and the military would join the "patriots" in an uprising. The cops are never going to join them and neither will the military. They will be completely crushed assuming they ever had the balls to start anything in the first place.
The government is not run by such idiots. They are never, ever going to launch a nationwide ban on guns with door to door confiscation. Yet, that is the scenario they envision. This the scenario they envision for the kicking off the great patriotic war. So, without this event to kick it off, any other skirmishes with the law will be seen as rouge elements.

Cops will side with the corrupt government -- they've become accustomed to abusing law-abiding citizens on a daily basis for fun and profit. They literally ARE the police state, so they will always support it.

Army and Marine corp front line combat arms units (as opposed to artillery) are overwhelmingly white and conservative to reactionary.
When it comes to air assets, across all the services, ground support, bombing and air superiority units are overwhelmingly (>90%) white and lean right, simply due to the personality traits of who volunteers to get into the combat aircraft types (as opposed to cargo planes).

They generally didn't join to fight the American public, but they will gladly hunt down traitors.

The reason wealthy whites do nothing is because the wealthy WASPs were (((replaced))) over time. There's a reason Game of Thrones ended the disastrous way it did. The director got the job due to nepotism. Daddy was a big time banker. When nepotism like that takes over, incompetence and corruption shut out virtue and merit.
