Thompson Center on Public Leadership, which houses several state offices, and others knocked down street cameras or spray painted over the lenses.
Some protesters punched State Sen. Tim Carpenter, D-Milwaukee, in the face after the lawmaker tried taking a picture, according to multiple reporters on the scene. Carpenter had been headed to the Capitol to get some work done late Tuesday evening when he was attacked.

This is Madison. It's no surprise. White liberals there often refuse even to identify as "liberal." They are "progressives" if they still maintain some hint of nostalgia for Western culture. If not, they self-identify as "cultural Marxists." The city has always been an insane tightrope between upper-middle class professionals, virtually all liberal because most are tied to the university or to state government, and radical leftwing activists. It was only a matter of time before the radical activists started punching the liberal professionals in the face.
That the protesters are tearing down monuments to Madison's progressive past is no surprise either. The radicals on the left are no longer progressives. They don't want to effect incremental progress toward a liberal utopia. They are cultural Marxists. Their aim is to reduce everything--language, history, entertainment, law, government, and every other aspect of culture and society--to rubble. From that destruction, they expect to create something new, but God only knows if any single one of them could articulate what that new order would be. None can see past the ends of their noses, let alone past the havoc they are wreaking.
Part of me says, "Hey, let them reduce Madison to no stone left standing. It's blue on blue, the left eating its own." Another part of me realizes that once the barbarians are inside the gates. They won't stop with Madison, WI. Emboldened by the statues crumbled there, they will fan out. What happens when they show up in Eau Claire, Beloit, Green Bay, Oshkosh, or Sheboygan? Granted, everywhere else in the state, they will encounter more people with guns, and who know how to use them. But how many will form ranks and fight? There is no Danegeld that can be paid, and the heathen horde is not going to leave willingly.

Please indulge this short anecdote, I was living/working in San Fran Freako in 2007, and yes I was being paid lots of money otherwise... One weekend afternoon in North Beach I looked out the store front of a coffee wholesaler at a commotion occurring on the other side of Columbus Ave. The 2 fat gay guys in the store freaked out, called 911, of course they were going to do no more. Well, an old White man was having a beef with multiple youf joggers. Seems there had been a traffic mishap. Now I'm watching this beef escalate. I'm asking myself can I watch this old man get stomped out or stomped to death? Decided, no, I can't, I'm a White man, and felt an allegiance to him. So I run across the wide street. His car was festooned with peacenick hippy libcrap stickers, and I do mean decorated. Whilst he had his dander up his old long grayed haired hippy missus, pulled out a cleaner spray bottle and started spraying the dent on his rear corner panel and "buffing" it out. Yeah, no shit. She started assuaging her hubbie that this was getting it out, no harm, no foul. Perfect metaphor for liberal thinking now that I think about it.
So, there was no stomp out. Yes, I was going to try to stop it, and I'm sure get hurt. Instead I stood there amazed at the insanity of it all.
Before this I'd witnessed a couple of other incidents that invoked my going everywhere strapped in the city, but I wasn't that day because the coffee wholesaler was only a block or so from my rental. But went strapped everywhere thereafter, and I mean just to go the half block to the corner store, where the Chinese store owner was also illegally strapped. Yeah, he bragged about it to me.
Now, 13 years later, if I saw a liberal about to be assaulted by diversity I would gleefully watch and enjoy it. Because I know that old liberal couple would've called me racist had I intervened on their behalf or any White persons.

No, not really. The reality is, most of us haven't lost our jobs for political reasons, haven't been unpersoned, haven't lost much to speak of at all. The riots aren't happening in conservative areas. We're getting deplatformed, but that's still a long ways from being "unpersoned" in the traditional sense.
Meanwhile, the rioters are making their appeals to their Amenable Authorities. The rioters aren't really making any appeals to (true) conservatives, if for no other reason than the rioters aren't physically present there.
I have to admit that one of the genius moves of Trump was to let this all just happen. Instead of fighting back hard as so many of our instincts say to do, he let it carry on, and one of the things that that has revealed is that the nation isn't burning down.... the liberal's areas are burning down. There's less difference there than I'd like, but there's still a lot of difference there. Generally, conservative areas aren't feeling anywhere near as much pain as the liberals.

I have a recent personal observation that supports the Darklord's post.
The neighborhood I used to live in in Austin was 90% White and the rest mostly Asian; it went 89% Hillary in 2016. There were Black Lives Matter signs everywhere when I lived there. We visited Monday to check up on some friends, and my wife noted she didn't see a single Black Lives Matter sign.
I look forward to seeing if the voting habits of the Texas blue dot actually shifts to survival.

You should only be able to vote in the 3rd generation. If he is at least the 3rd generation American, he can vote for president, but if he is not the 3rd generation in your state, all state positions which are elected should not be open to him to vote in or otherwise participate in politics.

If what the deep state's goals are unpopular then its media arm creates a smokescreen, or in a more extreme case the deep state contrives a crisis. Look for example at the post-1965 history of immigration to the US. A majority always opposed changing the ethnic composition of the country by allowing massive numbers of immigrants to come, yet here we are.

They - at a psychic level - believe it's their job to complain about a problem until someone else fixes it. My family has been America way longer than that. Honestly, it's just a reaction to the phenomenon of people voting for change which ruins the area, them running from the changes they made and then voting for those same exact things in a new locale.
The real answer is nobody votes. This should have been from the beginning. Implementing it now effectively locks in the existing elite, who got into our elite by gaming a democratic system. They are far from being a natural aristocracy. Over half of them aren't even American, let alone the best the American nation has to offer.

If your kid gets hooked on drugs, you don't gloat about it, but if your foreign neighbor who constantly defends the bad behavior of their own kid and blames you for their kid's screw ups gets hooked on drugs, that's when you gloat.

Free drugs for anyone born before JFK was assassinated, the rest of us on our own. I'll sign on to that.
